Kindred - The Fated Trilogy contains three books in the series by Donna Grant. All great stories that will not only hold your interest while transporting you to this fantasy world. Each is complex but fit together as a trilogy perfectly. In this series are the themes that Ms. Grant often explore such as danger from unknown sources, bravery in the face of fear, angst, doubts, trust, and mistrust. And let’s not forget romance and love.

Rage, the first book, is a great introduction to this amazing new world. Action-packed with multifaceted characters who have strong emotions and passions. Of course there is sizzling chemistry between Elin and Rob with a HEA that will bring a smile.

The second book, Ruin Rory Sutherland and Asa meet under dire circumstances. From there the danger only increases, but these two decide to stand together. The suspense and danger are the focus of the story with the romance coming more naturally, so it progresses as they work together to defeat evil. Magic, sheer strength and wits are all needed as they work together. The romance is compelling between Rory and Asa so that these two are totally united. The story development is completely satisfying.

Reign is the third book in the series. A story of amnesia, one who searches for the missing, loves the victim and tries to help in what he sees as the only way. As Lady of the Varroki, Malene disappears during a battle, awakes far away, with no memory of who she really is. As a warrior and the Lady’s right hand, Armir will not give up the search for Marlene but is sadly stunned with her lack of knowledge of who he is. A little different from most of Ms. Grants stories in that the main battle in within the characters as Armir does what he believes is necessary to help Marlene regain her memory. However, it is this relationship struggle as well as the internal struggle that lights this story up. Of course, the enemy is not completely absent in this story but the focus on these two characters is exceptional. A story of love that is not to be denied written as only Donna Grant can write it.

Recommend Kindred - The Fated Trilogy to all paranormal romance suspense readers. You can’t go wrong ever with a Donna Grant story.

Rage:
What a fabulous beginning to a new series! Elin and Rob’s story is the perfect tale to begin it with. I mean, what’s not to love? A strong, powerful, independent woman … a dashing, ruggedly handsome, compassionate man…Oh My Goodness!!! Curses, witches, nymphs … Everything one could want and more!

Ruin:
What an intense, action packed, adventure, right from the first page! I started reading, just a few pages, and found myself unable to put the book down until I read the final page.

Reign:
Life has a way of interrupting simple pleasures … like reading. Snow day yesterday and today so I hid away from the world outside and escaped into the pages of Reign. The conflict and emotions were so captivating I found I didn’t want to put them down. Every outside interruption was swiftly resolved so that I could continue working my way through the pages, eager to see what would happen next. This series is fascinating but each book easily reads like a complete adventure. What a perfect way to spend a snow day! The wind has settled and the flakes continue to fall but I must get busy … until the next adventure …

RAGE is the first instalment in Donna Grant’s adult KINDRED: THE FATED erotic, historical, paranormal / fantasy romance series set in the author’s World of the Kindred. This is witch Elin, and Highlander Rob MacKenzie.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Elin and Rob) RAGE follows the building relationship and romance between Elin, a powerful witch, and Highlander Rob MacKenzie. The MacKenzie Clan has been cursed, and Rob’s extended family is quickly dying. Discovering someone living in the cottage on his family’s land, Rob will come face to face with his future in the guise of Elin, a young woman who is about to save the lives of the people he loves but Elin is not as she appears to be, Elin is a witch, in hiding and on the run from the people hunting her down. When Elin discovers the truth behind the ‘curse’ against the MacKenzie Clan, Elin must reveal her existence for the world to see. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Elin and Rob, and the potential fall-out as Elin must face down another witch who is unable to control her powers.

The relationship between Elin and Rob begins trepidatiously. Elin is in hiding and wants nothing to do with our story line hero.Fearing for her life, Elin goes on the run hoping for some direction from the powers in her life. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top sexually graphic language and text.

RAGE is a story of power and magic, betrayal and vengeance, secrets and lies, love and understanding. The fast paced premise is intriguing and captivating; the romance is seductive; the characters are magical, mysterious and determined.

RUIN is the second instalment in Donna Grant’s adult KINDRED: THE FATED erotic, historical, paranormal / fantasy romance series set in the author’s World of the Kindred. This is Norse witch Asa, and Highlander Rory Sutherland. RUIN can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous storyline is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Rory and Asa) RUIN follows the building romance and relationship between Norse witch Asa, and Highlander Rory Sutherland. Norse witch Asa left her homeland of Norway seven years earlier in the search for something more, a search that took her to Scotland where she would find a family, a family that The Coven would destroy. Hoping someday to return to Norway to find her younger sister Lissa, Asa would come upon an injured Highlander, sent to warn Asa about an impending war. Viking Hosvir Ivarsson, and a powerful witch hunt for the bones of the first witch, and Asa is a direct descendant of the witch in question. With Rory by her side, and the help of another powerful witch and warlock, Asa would face down the danger, a danger too familiar to our story line heroine. What ensues is the building relationship and quick proclamation of love between Asa and Rory, and the potential fall-out as Rory is severely injured trying to protect the woman he loves.

The relationship between Rory and Asa is predicated on a warning. Asa’s sister Lissa has sent Rory to warn our heroine about the witch and men coming to claim our story line heroine. Rory is determined to protect Asa with his life, a life he is willing to sacrifice for the woman he loves. Asa is a powerful healer, and is gifted with the ability to speak to animals but never expected to fall for the injured Highlander.Something about Rory drew Asa like a moth to a flame, a flame that could easily be doused with the swing of a sword. The $ex scenes are limited but passionate.

RUIN is a quick read; a fast paced story of betrayal and vengeance, obsession and greed, acceptance and love. The premise is intriguing and entertaining; the romance is swift and seductive; the characters are powerful and determined.

REIGN is the third instalment in Donna Grant’s adult KINDRED: THE FATED erotic, paranormal/fantasy romance series, set in the author’s World of the Kindred. This is Lady of the Varroki Malene, and warrior Armir’s story line. REIGN can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous storyline is revealed where necessary.

Told from omniscient dual third person perspectives (Malene and Armir) REIGN follows in the aftermath of the capture and imprisonment of Malene aka Dagny. For years, Armir has been the protector and guardian of Malene, Lady of the Varroki but a battle for control sends Malene to Norway, where she will awaken as Dagny, a witch who has lost her memories of the past. To protect the Varroki from the woman with whom Armir has fallen in love, Armir magically traps Dagny in a cave, a trap from which she cannot escape until her memories return but all is not well when a coven of witches and warlocks hunts down our story line couple, in an effort to take back control, and destroy the man with whom Malene aka Dagny has fallen in love.

The relationship between Malene and Armir begins as guardian and prisoner. Malene now calls herself Dagny, and believes Armir and his people are determined to kill the people with whom Malene recently has lived. As Armir tried desperately to help Malene with the return of her memories, someone else is targeting our story line couple. The $ex scenes are limited but passionate without the use of over the top sexually graphic language and text.

REIGN is a quick read; a story of power and control, betrayal and vengeance, magic and the supernatural, acceptance and love. The fast paced premise is enchanting; the romance is seductive; the characters are dynamic and desperate.

Rage:

Highland Warriors, Clan Politics, Witches, all have a place in this new Fantasy series.

In the Highlands here in Scotland, during what could be the medieval period, we find Elin on the run. She turned against her allies to save her sister and friends and then was promptly betrayed by her sister. She has been avoiding contact with anyone as much as possible since then. She's now settled in an abandoned cottage but just as she feels a measure of safety the neighbouring Laird's brother finds her.

This is the beginning of a furtive friendship. Rob is clearly aware that Elin has something to hide but doesn't push to find out what. When a curse takes over the keep and ravages the population, Elin feels the need to help. But that's got the townfolk talking - is Elin a Witch?

Falling in love was never in the plan for either of them but they can't help but fall. But Elin's past and magical nature may be coming back to haunt her!

Empathetic MCs, magic, fantasy, and a great overarching plot set the scene for this new series. I loved Elin - she was selfless in the face of her own magical outing. Rob is protective, patient, and unfailing in his belief in Elin. He may be the brawny and brave warrior but he's also a canny strategist. He recognises when someone has the best skills needed.

Ruin:

Asa is on the run from a Norse warrior who has decided she is his witch. She needs to find safety and find her sister but before she finds a safe haven she is alerted to impending danger by a Highlander.

Rory left Scotland behind a long time ago. His father was a bully and held you in regard only by what lands and power you could give him. But a need to protect a witch has led him back home. He feels a pull to Asa but will they ever be safe enough for them to explore this mutual attraction?

Asa is a powerhouse of magic but she still doubts herself occasionally, especially over her decision to leave her sister behind when she went on the run. I loved her superpower, I'd love to be able to talk to animals.

Rory is a warrior through and through and honourable to his core. His family leaves much to be desired but they also helped shape him into the protector and honourable man he is.

Rapid read, no cliffhanger, only a few smexy times and battles. Engaging characters and beautiful setting with plenty of twists in the story.

Reign:

Set in the dark ages/medieval like times, when magic and mythology blended into one, The Varroki depend on their Lady to keep them and their hidden city safe. But their Lady is missing, feared dead. Only one has not given up on finding her.

Malene, Lady of the Varroki, has become Dagny, now of the Vikings. She washed up mysteriously on the shores of Norway and has quickly risen in the ranks due to the power she is happy to wield for them. But when Armir finally finds Malene/Dagny he refuses to allow her to cause harm to their people. So he knocks her out and imprisons them in a cave!

Now that he has them secluded he has to chip through her new "armour", the new personality and values that she seems to have embraced since she was lost to the Varroki during a battle. He refuses to give up on her and she is determined not to lose the new found power that she has. Only one of them can win.

Armir has been everything to Malene at one time or another. He was her abductor, instructor, protector, friend and advisor. He also loved her. Their positions may have meant that they could not act upon that joint attraction but I enjoyed learning more about their pasts. Malene was changing things for the Varroki - digging them out of the customs that saw their population falling and almost erasing themselves.

I must admit that Malene/Dagny was not my favourite of the FMC's in this series. That in part may be due to the amnesia leading to the personality split but she did rub me the wrong way occasionally. Armir imprisoned them both, knowing that Malene would be appalled to know that she had planned to harm the Varroki. Whilst they may not have been her people originally she did come to care for them. Armir is a great example of the strong, powerful, protective MMC who will search the world for his love but isn't above realising that she could also become his biggest enemy and he is willing to sacrifice them both to protect their people.

Satisfying conclusion to this historical fantasy laden romance.

Exceptional Storytelling

I love nothing more than curling up and submerging myself in the world of fantasy that Donna Grant creates. Kindred: The Fated Trilogy is another of those series Donna has delivered that I couldn't put down, and now they're altogether in one magnificent book.

RAGE Book #1

Be prepared to be drawn into a world of Witches, Warlocks, Gira, Nymphs, and mere mortals. This is the story of Elin and Rob.

After the war with the Coven Elin has escaped to the Scottish Highlands to live a life in solitude and free of magic. An abandoned cottage far away from any people becomes her new home, she's comfortable and self-sufficient, and very much alone. Or so she thinks. Rob Mackenzie, out riding on his family's land, discovers Elin living in the old cottage. A friendship develops between the two, but there is a secret, one that could change everything.

Keeping her magic a secret from Rob is not easy for Elin, especially when a mysterious illness infects members of the Mackenzie Clan, but Elin has her way of hiding things. As Elin and Rob grew closer, the genuine care and concern they had for one another deepened. Their chemistry and attraction are red hot, yet there is also a trust and understanding between them. What will happen when Rob learns of Elin's secret? Will he betray her trust? What does Rob's brother Donald, the leader of the Mackenzie Clan, have planned?

While reading RAGE, the energy builds and you just know that something epic is bearing down on Elin and Rob. A battle is coming, and Elin will need to decide if she can reveal her deepest secret and use her powers to keep the Mackenzie Clan safe. All I can say is WOW!!! Donna's description of the battle was so realistic and vivid, I could clearly picture everything she portrayed, such is her skill with her words. I loved seeing a couple of characters from the previous series, and all the new ones that were introduced.

RUIN Book #1

A thrilling, mesmerizing, action-filled journey from the first word to the last. It is the story of Asa and Rory.

Asa is special, a descendant of the first witches, and she is being sought after by Hosvir, a Viking Chieftain, who wants her as his wife. As a result, she is in danger. Her sister Lissa, who is in Norway, sends Rory Sutherland, a Scottish warrior, with a message of impending danger. When a wounded Rory finally delivers his message of "run" to Asa, she decides to remain and heal him, as she's tired of running. They join forces to fight the enemy, along with some other favourite previous characters. Who will win the battle? Who will survive?

I oved both Asa and Rory. Asa was incredible, with powers beyond belief, yet she often doubted herself. Rory is a fighter, a man who stands up for his beliefs. When Asa and Rory meet their attraction and chemistry are instant, they are drawn to each other, they are meant to be together. Will they get their HEA?

REIGN Book #3

A captivating, suspenseful, romantic, and action-packed adventure.
The story of Malene and Armir

In the aftermath of battle Malene Lady of the Varroki people, has washed up on the shores of Norway believing she is Dagny, a witch. She's then captured by the Vikings where she finds herself a favourite among them, due to her magical powers. Armir, a Warlock of the Varroki people and Malene's right hand man searched high and low for her until he found her. He loves her and he needs her to regain her memories.

Seclusion in a cave is Armir's only hope to help Malene. He takes on the roles of protector and healer, hoping to keep her safe and give himself time to bring her back to the woman she once was, the one he loved. I loved Armir's perseverance in his task. It was not an easy one to undertake as Malene/Dagny did not want to forfeit her newfound powers. This was going to be a battle of the wills.

KINDRED: THE FATED are stories of deep love, a battle for power and control, a need for acceptance, and a determination to help a loved one. They are steamy, entertaining, and magical that bewitched me from beginning to end.

All together – Rage, Ruin & Reign
Kindred: The Fated Trilogy from Donna Grant has given her fans of the original Kindred series the opportunity to learn more about characters whose fates were left up in the air at the end of that series. As usual, the road is never direct, but the journey is always full of surprises!
Rage – the first in the spinoff of Kindred series, which when it wrapped up, there were some characters that the readers wanted stories for. Lucky for us, so did Ms. Grant.
We find Elin living alone in Scotland after the events of Everspell. She misses her longtime friend, the Gira, Asrail but knew she was better off being on her own – it was easier that way when, not if, she had to move again. She did not expect to grow close to Rob, the brother of the local laird, who found her living in the cottage. She intended to live her life without using magic. When she hears that there has been sickness, and death, in Rob’s clan & that his brother says that they are cursed, Elin decides to help.
Elin realized that another witch had cursed Rob’s clan. She also realized she had fallen for Rob even though she knows they can never be together because she would always be hiding a part of herself. When certain events happen, Elin realizes she can no longer hide what she is – from Rob or his clan. This leads to showdown with the other witch. Of course, Donna Grant made sure what happens is exciting and explosive.
Ruin - In this book, we find Asa, who was a part of the original Kindred series. She escaped the devastation of her home, the home Edra and Radnar built to help train witches, and those without magic, to defend themselves against the Coven. She feels guilty that she was not there to help defend the home she found in Scotland, but now she feels she must return to her original home in Norway, and the little sister she left behind. She felt she was able to leave Liss because her sister had no magic and would be safer without Asa around. It turns out Liss does have magic and has sent Rory, a highlander who has spent time fighting with Vikings, to warn Asa that a chieftain has become obsessed with Asa, and that he a formidable witch on his side.
Rory & Asa must navigate Scotland, and their growing attraction to each other, on their quest to confront the chieftain, Hosvir, and his witch, hopefully with the help of someone from the Varroki. Asa knew that their best bet to confront Hosvir’s witch, Dagny, was in a Witch’s Grove. Luckily, Jarrin received Asa’s request for help and he & Helena journey to assist Rory & Asa. None of them were prepared for who would show in that Witches’ Grove. Hosvir was defeated, but his witch’s true identity changed everything for our characters going forward.
Reign - Most of us readers were heartbroken when the Kindred series ended without Armir & Malene getting their own story.
Malene had gone missing, presumed to be dead at the end of the Kindred series. Armir, however, could not believe she was really gone. When Armir felt her magic, it led him to the battle in the Witch’s Grove in Ruin (book 2 of Kindred: The Fated.) There he found the woman he secretly loved battling their allies. He was able to tackle her to subdue her. This takes us to now, with Armir sequestering the 2 of them in a cave that is not easily found. He has used an old spell he never thought to use to bar either of them from leaving the cave while preventing them from using their magic.
Dagny knows Armir is familiar, but not why. He tells her he knows her, and he knows how powerful she is; that is why he has made it so they can’t leave the cave. He would rather they both die then let Dagny out into the world with her current views on power and leadership & Malene’s immense power. Even though Dagny cannot remember Armir completely, she still feels Malene’s attraction to him. Being in close quarters with only each other, they give into the attraction that have fought for years, even though Dagny doesn’t know she has been fighting it! Of course, there is a twist we didn’t see coming.
This trilogy gave Donna Grant’s readers what they had been waiting for since the end of the original Kindred series - and it did not disappoint!

RAGE - What an amazing start to the spinoff of the Kindred series!
Elin is a witch who had wanted to believe her sister had changed, so she turned against her friends and allies to save her sister. When she realized her sister lied to her she went against her sister to do the right thing. She is now running away from everything and everyone she knew to hide away and not use magic anymore.
She finds an abandoned cottage that she moves into but the Laird’s brother, Rob, finds her on their land while he is out looking for someone to help his clan. Their people are sick and dying and although Elin at first denies she is a healer, but she decides to go to see if she can help them. It ends up that it is from a curse done by a spiteful, selfish witch. Elin breaks the curse which then makes people suspicious about her and she is sure it’s only a matter of time until people figure out that she is a witch.
Elin and Rob are attracted to each other and fall in love but Rob’s brother has arranged a marriage for him to a woman from a neighboring clan. Rob refuses. If he doesn’t agree to marry her he has to leave the clan. Will he chose to stay with the clan or will he chose Elin?
Elin is the only one who can stand up to the witch and now she has to decide if she wants to reveal her powers to protect the Mackenzie clan from the witch that cursed them and possibly die or leave to protect herself and her secret. Even if she would win against the witch, she knows that she will need to leave and that there is no hope of a relationship with Rob once they find out she is a witch.

RUIN - Asa is on her way to see her younger sister when she comes across Rory who is wounded and barely alive. He tells her to run but she takes him with her and heals him with her magic. Rory tells her that she is being hunted by Hosvir, a man who wants her because she is a descendant of the First Witch’s sister and that he has a very powerful witch helping him. Asa and Rory are going to fight them rather than run and they happen to get a little help from a couple from the first Kindred series. I was surprised to find out who the powerful witch was and think that story is going to be a very intense one.

REIGN - After a major battle with the coven leader Sybil, Malene, the Lady of the Varroki, had encased the two of them in a magical bubble to magically fight without being able to hurt anyone else. Although neither really won, Malene was thought dead after she disappeared in a magical blinding light. A year later, her second in command, warrior Armir has found her going by the name of Dagny and she is not the same person she had been. Armir magically traps both himself and Dagny/Malene in a cave, and puts a blood spell down so she isn’t able to escape and neither one are able to use magic. While hoping to help her get her memories back, some witches break through the cave and take Armir to torture and kill him leaving Dagny/Malene stuck there. What happens in between and at the end is both engaging and thrilling, bringing a more than satisfying end to the story.
I really enjoyed both the Kindred and Kindred: The Fated series, they are very detailed and exciting and the characters are captivating. I love these types of stories because even after they are over, I find myself still thinking about them. I hope this isn’t the last we see of them. Fantastic Series!

RAGE:

This spin off series of Kindred has book 1, featuring Elin, Rob and even Asrail makes an appearance. As does Armir for a split second.

It was very much worth the wait! Your mind is immediately taken back to the era of the story and you could see it all play out. Even before the magic flies, the story, from page one, is so entertaining I couldn't put it down.

Elin is a witch whose trying to hide from everyone and even from herself by desperately trying to act human even in her seclusion. She'd only used her magic once.

Enter Rob who spots smoke from the chimney of a supposedly abandoned cabin on his land. Oops Elin , big mistake. Or is it??? Elina tries to hide from him to no avail. They eventually strike up a friendship that evolves. All the while Rob still believes Elin to be a human. Then the unthinkable happens. She has no choice but to use a tiny spell but for a very good reason. To save many lives.

That small spell has two consequences. Donald, the Laird of the Clan & Rob's older brother, suspects she may be a witch even though he doesn't truly believe in them. And it puts her in the wrathful path of Marcia and all hell breaks loose.
I won't say more than that.

Buy now with one click and find out if Elin's secret is exposed and if it is....does it end well???? It's a fantastic start to the Kindred spin off and I'm Impatiently awaiting book 2.

Donna Grant's books are so captivating it causes me to have a bad trait........I want instant gratification, I want the next book right away. LOL

RUIN:

The second installment of this trilogy is exceptional! Not to mention a wild ride that has one heck of a shocker. It's so shocking it will rock you to your core. Especially if you connect to the characters as I do.

This is Asa and Rory's story with some very welcomed special guests. The enemies are Hosvir a viking and an extremely powerful witch named "Dagny." Plus 60 viking warriors.

It all starts when a near dead man (Rory) warns Asa to run. She, like any stubborn woman, refuses and instead, gets him out of where he's hiding so she can heal him. Once healed, he tells her that the witch is coming to make her submit to Hosvir and become his wife. All because she is a descendant of the First Witch. Asa knows she has to stop both "Dangy" and Hosvir or they will go after her sister Liss next. A bloody battle ensues and even Armir shows up. Do they win the battle? Do Asa and Rory get a HEA? Why did Armir show up out of the blue? You must read to find out.

This is filled with happiness and agonizing sorrow, love and betrayal, battle royals and true friendship. And let's not forget the shocker towards the end.

5 stars doesn't cut it. This is a 10+ star book at least! Donna Grant has such a wonderful writing style that captivates the read immediately, to the point of not wanting to put the book down until it's finished.

REIGN:

I'm speechless, absolutely speechless! That's how masterfully wonderful this book is and how this trilogy ends.

This 3-book trilogy is a must-read for fans of fantasy, Scottish Highlands, witchery and yes, romance too.

"Rage" - first in the Fated Trilogy, went by a bit too quickly, I had to stop at 70% so I could savor the ending! So much happening in a short period, and so much to take in - what a gift this novel is. Elin, a young witch who survived the battle with the Coven; Asrail - the wood nymph Queen and other Gira, and then there are the water nymphs - this book was like coming home, to a brand new place, where things felt familiar but were different. The description of Elin’s cottage that she found hidden deep in the Scottish Highlands, of bright greens and beautiful forests of Scotland create a magical setting for such a picturesque place that just the description alone creates its solitude and beauty. Elin meets Rob, the second son of the clan Mackenzie, who owns the land and the cottage she moved into. Rob initially terrifies her but his intentions are not hostile and eventually, an exciting friendship ensues, but will it become more? Read on….

When Elin finally uses the powers she has kept hidden for so many years, the energy that leaps off the pages is electrifying, what she is feeling is evident as you read through one of the most exciting parts of the book - well other parts generate heat but are a bit different; I digress….

"Rage and Ruin." The two words are linked, much like Ruin’s Asa and Rory. Ruin is the second book in the Fated Trilogy. Asa - a powerful witch is wandering without her coven; Rory a conflicted Highlander, returning to Scotland even though he was banished. The two are thrown together from the beginning and the only option for the reader is to continue reading quickly as their unfolding destiny is revealed. The coming darkness threatens to consume them both, but together they are stronger. This is an excellent and exciting read and will have you looking forward to the next book in the series.

"Reign," is the final book in the Kindred Series. Finally, we can get closure on Malene, Lady of the Varroki, and Armir, but I never wanted it to end…alas :) - Their final story begins in a cave, not Plato’s cave, but a cave nonetheless. Amir has sequestered them both here, with no magic, no exit. Malene begins this journey as Dagny, with no memory of her prior life as Lady of the Varroki - as their story unfolds it is evident that the two are fated to be together. As Dagny roams through the cave the first time it reminds me of how she is searching her mind for a memory that once was, but now is dark. Only the light led her through the darkness. It was a great story, and an excellent way to wrap the trilogy, and a few surprises on the way to the HEA. Thank you, Donna Grant, excellent as always.

I had already read the books contained in Kindred, The Fated Trilogy, but I couldn't resist the complete collection. For me there is nothing better than sitting down to read a series and not having to search for each book. Like the energizer bunny I just kept going and going until I finished the trilogy. The stories were still fantastic. The entertainment factor was off the charts, made glorious by the continuity.

The trilogy contains three stories, Rage, Ruin and Reign. All are great on their own, but together---just WOW.

Rage is a thrilling forbidden romance. Witches are believed to be evil. Elin doesn't expect to ever experience love until Rob shows up looking for help with a curse on his clan. Curing the clan puts her in danger. I had no clue that a clash between two witches could be so dramatic and action packed. I had never thought that just a few people in combat could be a battle. Witch power changes everything. Thanks to the author I could easily picture the battle in my mind. JUST WOW!!!! Book Coma!!

Ruin filled me with anticipation for a battle yet to come. I had high hopes for a dramatic battle from Donna Grant, the queen of fantasy battles. The author did not disappoint. The buildup was intense. The story was glorious. Their journey to the battleground was wrapped in danger. Every step took them closer to an unknown end. I had know clue what would happen when they made it to The Witch's Grove. I can't thank the author enough for blowing my mind. Intense Book Coma!!

The final story will have you searching for your seatbelt and getting ready for a wild ride. The first two books were crazy reads, packed full of action, drama and witchcraft. Reign is overflowing with all three. Amir, a Varroki Warrior has found the woman he has been searching for. He has found his Malene. But she is no longer his Malene. In a desperate move, Amir imprisons the both of them in a cave. She is gambling on finding a way out, a way to escape. She no longer has her magic thanks to a spell Amir placed on them and the entrance but that won't stop her. She does have determination, strength and the blue glow of the Lady of the Varroki. She doesn't realize what she is getting herself into. Amir goes searching for Malene not realizing what could happen.

Oh My!!! I was left speechless. It was just one shocking moment after another. Chapter after chapter of cliffhanging moments that I refused to leave. Suspense and action filled the pages of the trilogy, earning me a magnificent ending. The ending was worth every gut clenching moment. I am totally comatose.

All 3 books from the Kindred Fated series.
Rage: First book of this trilogy, which follows Evernight the Kindred book 4. Rage picks up the story. We meet Elin, who is a witch on the run from the Coven, a group of witches who are determined to dominate their world. She lost her sister to the Coven, and she wants no part of them and their schemes. She has stopped running for a short time, squatting in an out of the way hunting cabin, hoping to recover some of her strength and come up with a plan to keep away from the witches hunting her. The cabin is on Mackenzie land, and the brother of the Laird, Rob Mackenzie decides to find out who has been using the abandoned cabin. As any book written by Donna Grant, there are issues for the main characters to overcome, and a larger challenge that has to be addressed.

Ruin; Book two in the series. In this, book 2, we meet two new characters, Asa, a witch from the Viking homelands and Rory Sutherland who is the banished 3rd son of the Laird of Sutherland of Scotland. He has been tasked by Asa’s sister in Norway to find her and warn her of an impending crisis. Traveling from Norway Rory is dying from his wounds after being attacked while hunting Asa. He finds her in Scotland, and collapses after only telling her she must run. Asa has been meandering after having lost everyone who has meant something in her life. She left her home in Norway and now finds herself trying to help this man who is dying on the ground in front of her…. And so, Donna Grant starts weaving another compelling tale in her Kindred universe. An exciting storyline will keep you reading and invested in the main characters, along with new evil in the wilds of Scotland where the Kindred stories are set.

Reign; Book three, the final book in this series. Donna Grant has finally gotten to Malene and Armir’s story. This is a continuation from book Everspell (Kindred series by Donna Grant) which gave us questions about whether she was killed or if something else happened to her. In Reign Armir has not given up his search for her after the battle that finished Everspell. But it’s been a year, and he is starting to doubt he’ll find her….and Donna starts an interesting, suspenseful, and surprising story. As the last book, the story is exceptional, taking readers on a ferris wheel of characters emotions. Well worth reading, it gives a fitting ending to this story arc.

This set of books is well worth reading. It can be read as a stand-alone, but for the best experience should be read after the books in The Kindred series.

Donna Grant returns to the Kindred world with Elins' story. After the battle she ran, she tried to find somewhere she could feel safe, but running seemed to be the only thing she could do. Until she comes upon an abandoned cottage. There she finds a little peace, never uses her magic, stays hidden but forever wary of the day someone might show up and running will be her life again. One day, exactly that happens, and a man shows up, Rob, and all her fears are front and center again. Running is paramount to survival. Except this man can't seem to let her go, and she just might not really want to leave the peace she has found. But troubling things are happening, and she will have to choose to use magic to save lives, even at the cost of her own and her vow to be normal and never use magic again. A wonderful little tale that thrusts us back into a beloved world of magic and danger!

Asa returns in this new story in The Kindred World. After 7 years, she finds herself ready to return to Norway and find her sister. Reluctant to leave Scottland, which she feels has become her home, her plans take a back seat when a gravely injured warrior tells her to run. She can not leave the injured man behind, so she flees with him and heals him. Once he awakens, she learns the terrible truth. Her past has found her, even across the oceans. These two lovely souls find family in each other and prepare for the battle ahead. The boy she remembers from Norway has come to take the witch home and fulfill a prophecy this powerful witch has shared with him. It is a great new story in The Kindred World with a new couple to fall in love with.

The long-awaited story of Malene and Armir has arrived! They fought their feelings for long and never confided them to each other, only to have the unthinkable happen and be torn apart. Armir has searched long and hard for Malene. Until she arrives and is not the person he knew at all. Malene has found a new home, despite the circumstances of how she arrived, and has made peace with where she is. She has fought and lived beside the Norse and will follow through on her promise to them.
So when she wakes up in a cave, trapped by a man she does not know, that is what she does. She fights. And Armir talks. He tries to help her remember to maybe find her way back. She may not remember, but she can not deny the feelings that stir when he speaks, when he is near. It is just as hard for him to stay away from the woman he has loved for so long. What neither of them realize is that they may be in danger. Will they find their way to happily ever after?

Rage, book one in the Kindred series by Donna Grant is a lovely tale of Elin, a witch with her own life, alone and in hiding. She escaped the notice of The Coven and lives a solitary life. As a witch, she knows that she is feared and that people’s fear leads them to do unspeakable evil. So, she hides from the world and tried to live in peace. One day, a Highlander stumbles upon here hiding place and insists upon knowing her. Rob is gentle and kind, ingratiating himself and earns some of her trust. That sliver of trust leads to events that will change her world forever. The characters are compelling and the plot line weaves its way to a satisfying ending. If you enjoyed Evernight & Everspell you will also enjoy this series.
Ruin, book two in the Kindred series by Donna Grant. The tale follows a young witch named Asa who had been absent during the epic battle with the Coven. We learn that she had spirited away the children during the battle and was spared because of it. Rory is sent to warn Asa about an impending danger to her. So, Asa must either flee the danger or fight. Rory will not leave her side, so she must also decide if she wants to risk his life as well. The characters are compelling and the plot line weaves its way to a satisfying ending. If you enjoyed Rage, you will also enjoy this next book in the series.
Reign by Donna Grant is book 3 in the Kindred: The Fated series. After the battle with The Coven, Malene, the Lady of the Varroki, disappeared. Her right-hand man, Armir vowed to find her. It took a whole year, but find her he did. The only problem was, she was no longer the woman he knew. With no memories of her past, she built a new life in Norway and now goes by the name Dagny. She fought to put distance between herself and Armir, but something drew them together. She asked, “All this time when I was missing, you never found someone else?” And he replied, “There’s only ever been you. I fell in love with you. Not your position, not your magic. You. You're fortitude and generosity, your devotion and decency. He was speaking of Malene, not her. He didn't know her. She didn't know him. Still, his words had an effect. The characters are compelling and the plot line weaves its way to a satisfying ending. If you enjoyed Ruin, you will also enjoy this next book in the series.

This is a great box set. Now you can enjoy and binge the entire series. Highly recommended. Donna Grant is an amazing story teller.

Rage: A Magical Beginning

This was a quick, enjoyable read, which is a spinoff from the Kindred series. We get to meet Erin and Rob, who are great new characters. Erin is a witch, in hiding and her only desire is to live in peace and be left alone. Erin soon finds out that trying to hide and to not use her magic is not going to be as easy as she believes. While in hiding, she is discovered by Rob, who is a part of the Mackenzie Clan. Rob is on a mission to seek help for his people who are sick and dying from a curse, conjured by an evil witch. Erin really did not want to get involved, but she agrees, because of the feeling she and Rob are beginning to have for one another. Erin knows witches are feared and once she uses her magic, her secret will be revealed. There are lots of twists and turns and as usual, DG takes us on an adventure that you do not want to end. This was another great read and I am looking forward to the next installment.

Ruin: Kindred Fated
Another Great Love Story. This book is about Asa and Rory and the Journey to their HEA. Asa is powerful witch and Rory is a Highlander Warrior who is determined to stand together against the forces of evil. As always in DG’s books, there are many twists and turns that keep you reading from beginning to end. I highly recommend this series and looking forward to the next installment.

REIGN: The Fated
Great Read! In this installment, Armir is searching for Malene, who has been missing for over a year. When Armir fines Malene, he discovers she has lost her memory and has no recollection of her life as Malene; for her, it is about the Power!!! Although Armir is hurt that Malene does not recognize him, he is on a mission to help her regain her memories. Armir traps the two of them in a cave and endures a lot, before Malene’s memories are restored. As if the memory lost is not enough, they are being hunted by another threat. DG takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions and creates characters; you cannot help, but love. This is a page turner from beginning to end. A highly recommend this series.

Rage-
Elin is a witch who is avoiding the use of her magic. She has seen what happens to people accused of witchcraft. On the run, Elin finds an abandoned cottage and makes it her temporary home.

Rob is the brother to the Laird of the property Elin is staying on. While trying to find someone to help combat a deadly illness that has taken the lives of many of his clan, he finds Elin.

Elin has a tough choice to make, especially as she and Rob grow closer. Does she let his clan die or does she reveal her power?

Great beginning to a new series. This is a spin-off of the Kindred series, and while it can be read as a standalone, it is better to have the backstory.

Ruin-
Book 2 of the Kindred series is just as good as the first one. Because of the way the author is writing this series, the books could be read as standalone, but they have intertwining plots and characters. I love seeing characters from another series in a new series.

Asa and Rory, with the help of a few friends, stand together to face evil that wears the face of a past friend. Super surprise twist towards the end. I never saw it coming. I can’t wait to see what comes of this surprise.

Reign-
I’ve been impatiently waiting for Armir and Malene’s story. It’s finally here and it did not disappoint.

When Armir finally finds Malene, she has no memory of who she used to be. He imprisons them both in hopes she will regain her memory. It becomes apparent that Malene is no longer the person she used to be and Armir has to make a choice of whether to let her go or go with her, forsaking the Varroki.

My heart was breaking for Armir, just like it had in the prior book. I literally felt his pain. He went through so much. Donna Grant certainly knows how to write. Not sure if it was a conclusion to a series, but if so, it was a perfect ending.

The perfect trio of fated romances mixed with magical intrigue set in a richly woven fantasy setting.
Rage: Elin has been on the run, trying to live in peace and solitude, trying to keep her abilities to herself.
While staying in an abandoned cottage, a man happens by and spurs her to run.
Rob Mackenzie, whose family owns a nearby castle, follows her and saves her from men who have nefarious intentions.
Slowly, she begins to relax and maybe trust this man and helps when sickness afflicts his family.
Will Elin be found out when her help with a cure causes suspicion?
A fascinating beginning to a new series!
Ruin: Rory and Asa's meeting came to be because it was set in motion by a sequence of events that lead up to them fighting a growing faction of power-hungry magic mongers.
Falling in love adds to the knowledge that time isn't on their side and any emotional ties will be used against them.
Will a major betrayal cause them to lose everything?
An epic love story within a fantastic journey towards the ultimate confrontation.
Reign: Malene, as the Lady of the Varroki was loved and respected by her people. During a battle to save all that is right and just, she awakens with no memories of who she is or where she came from.
Choosing the name Dagny she comes to realize that she has immense power.
Convinced that she can is meant to rule, her judgement becomes tainted.
Armir, Malene's right hand travels tirelessly in search of the Lady of his people and the love of his life.
Upon finding her, things become complicated and Armir is convinced that given time, Malene's memories will return.
Can the past be remembered in time to save what happiness could be in their future before a new nemesis exacts revenge for a misunderstood tragedy?
A story of love that transcends and strengthens as it grows.
Beautiful reads!

Rage
What a great start!!
It's been a minute since we got to visit this amazing world full of magic and mayhem!
Elin makes her own life alone, trying to stay safe and 'normal, but she's not normal.
Then her whole plan is turned upside down by a man. And what a special kind of man he is.
Together they fight fear and evil to hold onto each other and save all that they hold dear.
This book is such a fun read!
Ruin
Ruin is a world full of magic, mayhem and fun!
Asa lives a quiet life. She keeps to herself, lives in the woods and stays away from her sister to keep her safe.
Until one rainy night.
Rory has a mission. One that he intends to finish no matter what.
For Rory, there's no going back, no giving up. Broken, bleeding, doesn't matter. What does matter is one small woman whose life he was chosen to try and save.
Rory and Asa set out on a mission to try and save not only herself, but her sister too.
Ruin is a quick fun read and there's a twist too!
Reign
I liked this book. Even though it was different than the other Kindred books Reign had all the feels that one comes to expect from Donna Grant.
Malene and Armir has a story that has been building through out this whole series. Their story spans decades.
I love how Armir was so patient, so willing to walk in a different path only because his heart was telling him not to give up.
Malene didn't want to change what she had become. She didn't want to go backwards. But sometimes fate has other ideas and opens doors when a new path is least expected.
Reign wraps up two hearts that have been walking slowly toward each other very nicely.
If you love your magic mixed with a little mayhem don't miss this amazing Trilogy!

Reign
After a major battle to defeat Sybill, one of the main characters disappears. The team thinks she’s dead, but Aanir thinks differently. He finds her, but she is not as she was. She’s lost all her memories and has joined the enemy forces. Through persistence and love, Aamir helps her restore her memories and a major battle is set up. Wonderful story and a good ending to the series.
Ruin
Asa is a powerful witch that has been running since she left Norway. She is set to return to rescue her younger sister when a gravely injured Scotsman warns her that he has been sent by her sister to warn her a powerful Viking King and his powerful witch are hunting her to force her to marry the Viking King and cement his place as the ruler of the world.
Asa heals Rory, the Scotsman and their adventure traveling to a safe haven for witches finds them falling for each other as they run from the Vikings and their powerful witch.
A battle ensues as they reach the haven and friends from the previous book are there to help defeat the enemy. The MAJOR plot twist at the end is totally unexpected and leaves the reader anxiously awaiting the next book.
Wonderful read. As usual, Ms Grant exceeds with story line and descriptive writing.
Rage
New spinoff series from Donna Grant's Kindred world. A witch in hiding due to the traumatic loss of her mother. A highlander on a mission to save his people from a mysterious illness. Donna gives us insight into what happened after the Coven was defeated in the other series. Great start to a new series. I can't wait for the next book!

Rage:
Ever since the battle that destroyed the Coven, Elin has been hiding. She is fearful of being found out as witch and meeting the same fate as her mother. However, when Rob catches her on the MacKenzie land and tells her of the sickness and possible curse that has fallen on the castle, she knows she must help. Rob feels drawn to Elin, even when his brother questions him. This is a great opening to the new series about the Kindred. I have not read all of the original series yet but was able to following along just fine. I have a feeling this series is going to keep us on the edge of our seats.

Ruin:
I came into the Kindred series late. Very late… like last two books of the original series late. These are not tied to the Dark Universe but still are 100% Donna Grant style. The way she is able to weave an overarching storyline while still making each book their own and easy to pick up amazes me every time. I don’t remember Asa from the original series, but I think that is mainly because I haven’t gone back to read them all yet. Still, I was able to get to know her and understand how she tied in to the others. I can’t wait to see which book is up next because there is one couple I am waiting for on the edge of my seat.

Reign:
I have been waiting for this book since the final book in the Kindred series. I am so glad we finally got Armir and Malene got their story told. Donna Grant gave us the answers to the questions we still had while weaving a great story that kept me hooked. It is sad that this series is over, but it was the prefect end to a great series and spin off.

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "KINDRED THE FATED TRILOGY" This author never disappoints such a unique different interesting, intriguing, intense, story with dark evil forces, magic, steam, angst, danger, strange illness, humor, tears, twists that keeps you turning the pages.
RAGE: Elin is hiding out from her past only wanting a peaceful life she meets Rob who's needing help to fight a mysterious illness effecting his clan its full of danger, fear of unknown angst, action, steam, possibly a HEA.
RUIN: Asa is a Norse Witch leaves Norway & heads to Scotland searching for more in her life, but her bloodline causes an evil force to threaten her, she hoped to return to find her missing sister Lissa, she finds an injured Highlander Rory Sutherland who was suppose to let her know about a war coming, a relationship develops between them, you want to see if they get a HEA.

Rage is the first book in a Kindred Fated trilogy that is a spin off of the Kindred series. It can be read as a standalone book, however, you will miss some of the back story of the war with the Coven, Nymphs, etc..

Rage picks up after the Coven has been defeated with Elin trying to live a magic free life in a new place - Scotland. Elin created a new home for herself in an abandoned cottage on the Mackenzie clan’s land, knowing that at some point she would probably need to leave her haven if/when the clan found her living on their land.

Ruin is the second book Kindred: The Fated trilogy. Ruin is the story of Asa, a descendent of the First Witch and Rory, a Scottish warrior, sent by Asa’s sister Liss, to find her and warn her of danger coming her way from a Norse chieftain who thinks that marrying Asa will cement his reign.

This is a fast paced action / love story that you’ll enjoy. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

Reign is the 3rd book and final book in the Kindred: The Fated trilogy. Reign is Malene and Amir’s story.

Malene has been missing for a year - she disappeared when she fought the Coven leader and Amir has been searching for her ever since. Amir finds Malene who has no memory of her past life and she now calls herself Dagny.

This is a story of Amir’s determination to remind Dagny of her past and if he can't; he’ll protect the world from the person she’s become.

So great all the books are in a bundle!! Love that!

Book 1 - Rage

A good story with a sweet and passionate romance! Elin made some bad decisions that have made her want to hide away, but when a curse starts causing problems, she finds herself needing to step up to help out. Rob finds Elin and is in need of help for his clan that is experiencing some type of mystery illness. Nefarious things are going on. Elin has her secrets, but despite them, Rob and Elin begin to grow closer as they try to stop the curse. Interesting tale. Enjoyed the Scottish setting too!

Book 2 - Ruin

Another entertaining, exciting read! Love the Scottish setting, and interesting magic added to the sweet, passionate romance of Rory and Asa. Witch Asa is in danger because of her heritage, so Rory offers her his help and protection. Action and danger! Fun times! An entertaining read!

Book 3 - Reign

Really enjoy the amnesia scenario, and a deep love being the catalyst to bring her memory back. Not fully a fan of Malene/Dagny; she doesn’t exactly have the best of intentions at times, but I do appreciate her tenacity. Armir does what he can to help bring back Malene’s memories before she can do anything more that she’ll regret. Unfortunately, there are those that do not want Armir to succeed. A bit of fun danger to be had! An entertaining read!

The first of three fated pairs, a witch, Elin and a brawn Scots warrior, Rob set the tone for this trilogy. An intense and undeniable connection with a forever kind of love and devotion that they wll need to survive. Elin must go up against not one but two powerful witches to secure a future not just for themselves but Rob's clan.

Then we have our second fated pair, and you know from the first page that Rory and Asa are a couple that are destined to be together through eternity. It is the journey these two must make to conquer their destiny that keeps you turning page after page. Donna Grant writes another love story that makes the reader "feel every struggle and emotion" this pair endures as they fight for good and find their path to a forever kind of love. I couldn't put it down!

The final book and fated pair in the Kindred series by Donna Grant. This storyline brings magic, mystery, and plenty of twists and turns reflected throughout the series. In Reign we finally have Dagny/Malene and Armir reunited and we are tethered to the story as it evolves to discover if what Armir has planned to bring Dagny’s memory of Malene back and give him a chance at the love he’s always felt for her and feels she returns. A fantastic series and fantastic finale!

I loved this first book to this new series. Elin has been hiding that she is a witch and finally found a new home in Scotland. She meets Rob and an attraction starts . But can she tell him her secrets and save his family from the curse of another witch? Rob and Elin fall in love and Elin reveals who she is and Rob sees the strong and caring woman he loves. Can’t wait for the next book!

Ruin

Rory, a Highlander, has been sent by Asa’s sister to warn her of impending evil. Asa is a witch but she is the descendant of the First Witch. Rory is stricken by her beauty and immediately sparks fly when they meet. Rory will help Asa fight against Hosvir and his evil witch. There is a surprise at the end I didn’t expect. I loved this story of love, bravery, and loyalty.

Reign

Malene has lost her memory and Armir is determined to get it back for her. He keeps her in a cave with his magic, till she can remember that she is the lady of the Varroki and not Dagny, a Viking warrior who is a witch. Armir has always loved Malene and passion ignites between them as they spend time together. There is an evil lurking after them but will Malene gain her memory in time to fight it off with Armir? I loved this book and the world Ms Grant created.
