This is the third in the Blood Moon series. I have the feeling that the author intended more in the series, but alas with her passing we are denied more of her wonderful stories.

In the first book, Thompson started in Regency period, which she does so well. Now we are in Victorian era. Milosh (seen in both of the other books), the Gypsy vampire hunter, is about to become what he hunts. He has returned to Cumberland, England, tracking the evil vampire, Sebastian. He is shocked to find the home of the Hyde-Whites' destroyed. He comes upon a beautiful Gypsy named Paloma. He is drawn to her, but fears he cannot trust her. And with good reason.

Paloma is what he hunts. She fears if he learns her true nature, he will destroy her, but she needs the knowledge Milosh has.

After he is bitten, he must take Paloma to the Brotherhood in the hopes they can save her from his ravenous thirst for her blood.

This final tale in the series is simply amazing. Milosh is a wonderful hero, one I won't ever forget.

Blood Moon, The Brotherhood and The Ravening is the order to read them.

Aside from typing errors, the book was really good, containing all of the elements of a good paranormal romance. The final battle was a bit too contrived, because there was too much buildup to it, and when it finally happened not enough actual interesting fighting to make it believable within the story's context. There are a few repetitions throughout, of sentences and ideas making it seem like the author enacted to drill these idea into the reader's head. However, the setting of the story and the characters are interesting, and fit well into the overall framework of the book. The damsel in distress is a bit overdone, but the ideas and other characters compensate and make this a worthwhile, enjoyable read.

Last book of the series focuses on the gypsy vampir Milosh, in his final battle with the evil vampire Sabastian. A satisfying end to the story. Women in this author's stories are pretty scatterbrained, or I would have given this five stars. Acted flighty and stupid at times, constantly putting themselves in dangerous situations of their own making, after being firmly warned. Irritating.

Wow, amazing end to the trilogy. Except for the most expected killing which I loved it. My dear Milosh deserves what he got.

A must read.

It's been 400 years since the hero was turned vampire on the night that destroyed his family and thanks to an ancient ritual, he has suppressed the bloodlust and kept the powers of the vampire. He uses this power and this influence over the species to save those who can be saved and to kill those who can not.

He returns to the castle of his precious friends only to discover the family gone and the castle in ruins. It may look deserted but it is far from. In the fire ravaged walls hold both a woman who is destined to changed his life forever as well as a very old and very powerful enemy who has escaped justice. The women, immediately sets upon stealing his horse and fleeing before he hunts her down. Skittish and obviously ignorant of just how much danger lies in the woods, he takes it upon himself to become something of her guardian. Though he is not entirely sure if this beautiful woman is vampire or not, he is enrapture by her regardless of the outcome. He doesn't need the distraction and has done quite well for himself without surrendering his emotions or letting his guard down. Fitting that the first time he is put off centre by a female it turns out to be his undoing.

The heroine is horribly hungry. She refrained from feeding for longer than she should have and she can't very well ask this famous vampire hunter for blood. She can't hide her true nature forever and after an encounter with the evil vampire who made them both, she bits the hero. Now, she has taken his freedom within herself and in return, she's caused the bloodlust to rise up within him once again. Torn between the need to love this woman and his fear that he will be the one to hurt her, the heroine is constantly battling the decision to stay close and protect her from vampires or stay away and protect her from himself. The fear that he will not be able to recapture his cure is daunting and the fear that his Brotherhood will kill him before he's able to get revenge on the evil he's hunted weighs heavy on the heroes mind. The heroine, lost in a sea of guilt over what her actions have wrought and desperation to save the man she loves, much battle to save his soul before the darkness consumes him.

WARNING. This review is based upon a novel that I majorly skimmed through. I just couldn't get into this book and there were many reasons why. Mainly, the author droned on and on endlessly chapter after chapter without really saying anything important. Around and around this novel went as the author seemed to be struggling to find a direction to point the characters in. I found myself reading the same damn scene over and over again and it got to the point that I really thought she had used the exact same paragraphs from earlier in the novel. What made this very even more unbearable was the totally dull and lifeless writing style. What few scenes there were in the book- not couldn't the repeated ones- had zero charisma and possessed nothing worthy of holding my attention. The hero was a bore. The heroine was a bore. Both seemed to have absolutely purpose and even less nature chemistry. The heroine was a shrill and incompetent woman who would demand to be set free one moment and the next, be begging and pleading the hero not to leave her. This book was a massive fail in my opinion and while this author is capable of writing some decent books, this was not one of them.

P.S Perhaps I was a wee bit harsh......But it's very hard to follow up a 5 star rating book with something of this caliber. I feel how I feel and it's nothing personal.

This is the third book of the series. I just skimmed it because I had bought it new and sort of felt that I had wasted my money on this one. It just did not grab my interest. There seemed to be little or no chemistry between the main characters.
