Jimmy Kudo, the son of a world-renowned mystery writer, is a high school detective who has cracked the most baffling of cases. One day while on a date with his childhood friend Rachel Moore, Jimmy observes a pair of men in black involved in some shady business. The men capture Jimmy and give him a poisonous substance to rub out their witness. But instead of killing him, it turns him into a little kid! Jimmy takes on the pseudonym Conan Edogawa and continues to solve all the difficult cases that come his way. All the while, he's looking for the men in black and the mysterious organization they're with in order to find a cure for his miniature malady.
Gosho Aoyama (青山剛昌) is a Japanese manga artist. He is best known as the creator of the manga series Detective Conan (known in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom as Case Closed).
Aoyama made his debut as a manga artist with the work Chotto Matte which was published in the weekly magazine Shōnen Sunday on winter of 1987. Shortly after that, another work by Aoyama, Magic Kaito, was published on the same magazine.
Matsuda, Takagi + Sato. What’s more to love? Me and a friend were obsessed with these 3 when we were teenagers and we love to go back to those days once a year and watch all the episodes. R.I.P
This volume had the most rarest cases where we saw Mouri solves a case WITHOUT conan tranquilizer.
1.The little talk about Mouri and Eva (Ran's mom) is just cuuuute!! Omg I cannot wait till they appear together once again!
2.I loved this case so much! I actually wanna know more about Mouri and Eva and how they got together!
3.So the Mouri décision case gets 5 stars!
4.The next case is the programmer and his relation to the black organization, which led to Conan having the programmers diary. (the diary had white text which only read if highlighted! NEAT! reminds me of those forums stuff)
5.When they arrived at the house in Genma (I hope I spelled the place right) I knew things will go different.
6.Just when Conan set up a trap to meet Gin (black org) vodka came in and pointed out all the details that Conan left.
7. Thank god vodka did not find him.HOWEVER this akai guy (known as the long hair FBI from New-York days arc) spotted Conan and Sherry! And sherry did feel that he is from the black org? So far we need more clues

This volume of Case Closed continues the story from the previous volume and ends with a very fulfilling conclusion, in my opinion! It was so fulfilling and as I mentioned in my review of vol., 36, I believe it should have been its very own volume. I have never seen any of the movies, but this would make for an excellent one! The next story looks like a simple case on the service, but turns out to be anything but! The case leads Detective Conan to look into a bigger case which has more of a personal touch to it! The final story is a slight continuation of the previous story and has to do with the data on the disk that Conan acquired in the last case. It’s a race against the elements to get from Gunma to Tokyo. With a breakdown of their transportation, the team hitches a ride…..with some thieves! (Of course you don’t know that at first). The story isn’t over but sadly so is this volume of Case Closed.
Picked this up as a random Manga selection from my library (I've checked online, and they have volume 9 and 37... how does this work?). Really enjoyed it. Aimed at teens in Japan, it moves at a good pace. The exposition can be clunky in how characters are introduced, but the crime investigation element is at a maturity level way beyond its intended audience (and no doubt all the better appreciated for it). Really interesting forensic science mixed in with comic book humour, although a small bit of lecherous humour is employed unnecessarily. Any fans of manga will be used to this.

I think I'm in a bit of reading slump right now, and that's why I haven't had the motivation to finish this one. My strongest take away from this volume is that Shinichi really is a dumb teenage boy with no sense of self preservation. If he would just stop and think a bit instead of getting too eager he would see that what he is doing isn't the greatest idea in the world.
General Synopsis: As mentioned above, I am going to write a proper review for this soon, but I have a few books ahead of this one in the queue, so I cannot stop reading DC NOW! That's sacrilege. I have decided to read all the chapters available up to now (we are almost to 1000!) As you can see, I am totally fangirling over here and I don't care, because this is one of my favorite manga series, ever! But all of this aside, there are a few things I wanted to list so I don't need to go back and look everything up when I do finally sit down and write my fangirl review. ✌🏻
DO NOT click on the spoiler link if you don't want to read all the cases in this volume, because it will ruin it for you. On the other hand, if you're a fan like me or are looking for a certain case (and please note, these are how I have set the cases), etc. click away, that's why it's there.
Another spoiler link, so don't click if you don't want to ruin this manga. I am going to include the characters introduced or as the series continues are in this volume. Personally, I think us DC fans love certain characters more than other (yes, Heiji, I mean you!), so sometimes when we are re-reading this series (like all the time!) you might wish to start at a specific case or start when a certain character is involved.
Characters in this volume:
Personal Opinion: #1, I never call this CASE CLOSED. If you do, you're not a true fan of this series, so don't even bother reading my review or my personal opinions. I'm sorry if I offend you, but you offended me first by telling me you want to read CASE CLOSED or you just love Jimmy.
#2, as you can tell by #1, I read this online. I would never waste my money buying a manga series in english that cannot get the name correct and mess up the main characters to make it appear more "ENGLISH." I am so happy I don't run a blog and this isn't a review on Sailor Moon, #1, because I have a huge soap box tirade against DiC. I also don't think there is anything against reading something online. Comics, which is what manga are, are meant to be read and shared and sometimes paying over $10 is too much in my opinion. Plus, I read the newest chapters as soon as they are released from Japan, because I would never miss a release of DC. So this is my personal shout out to you translators from me, Thank You!
DEADLY PERFORMANCE: A TV STAR’S MYSTERIOUS DEMISE Kogoro Mouri is invited to introduce an episode of a popular detective drama, only to find himself challenged by its arrogant lead actor to solve a staged murder mystery. Conan secretly aids Kogoro, but real tragedy strikes when the actor is found dead during a filming break—without a visible murder weapon. Suspicion falls on the cast, including Ruri Ujo, a childhood acquaintance of Kogoro’s who harbors old memories of his relationship with Eri. With no clear means of murder, Conan must unravel the truth behind this perplexing crime.
THE VANISHING ENGINEER AND THE SHADOW OF THE BLACK ORGANIZATION Three video game designers seek Kogoro’s help in locating their missing system engineer, whose last known appearance was in a cryptic video mail featuring Shogi, Chess, and Igo sets. Conan quickly deduces that the disappearance is linked to Tequila, a dangerous operative from the Black Organization. Their search leads them to a hotel room, but instead of answers, they find the missing man dead from an apparent stroke. While the police investigate, Conan seizes an opportunity to retrieve a floppy disk containing the man’s records—hoping it will unveil secrets about the Black Organization.
A FATEFUL ENCOUNTER AND A RACE AGAINST THE BLACK ORGANIZATION On the way home, Conan is unsettled when Ran recognizes Shuichi Akai—a mysterious man he knows all too well. When Ran later reveals that Akai is an FBI agent, Conan becomes deeply suspicious about the agency’s activities in Japan. With the stolen disk in hand, he and Professor Agasa analyze its contents, uncovering a dangerous lead: the Black Organization is heading to the deceased engineer’s cottage to retrieve a critical program. Racing against time, Conan intercepts their email, but a security mechanism erases the message, alerting the Organization to the cottage. With Vodka calling the house, Conan daringly impersonates the dead man using his voice-changing bow tie, extracting crucial details about their next meeting—bringing him one step closer to the elusive enemy.
Ok back to the point... sebenernya beli volume ini, salah beli sih. Lagipula it was forever ago, jadi lupa ceritanya. Kayak yang aku selalu bilang, "the day they end this series, it's the day my childhood will officially be over." Jangan tamat dulu deh yaaaaaa, pokoknya aku pingin lihat Shinichi balik besar lagi, penasaran lihat kelanjutannya Ran-Shinichi. Kalau Ai sih, tetep kecil juga nggak papa *nggak suka sama Ai nih, ceritanya*
Conclusion of Bomber story line. Next, Mouri is asked to guest star on a mystery show as the narrator only to find he knows one of the main actresses - then a body is discovered, but Conan has to rely on Mouri solving the mystery without him (well, he does provide hints to lead him in the right direction). Next, Mouri is hired to find a software developer only to find him... dead! Conan also discovers a link to the organization. After solving that mystery, Conan and Dr Agasa use the information gathered about the organization to set a trap - only to be distracted by a couple giving them a ride to their destination - but this couple has their own mystery Conan must resolve in time to make a meeting with the organization's Vodka.
The men in black are back... maybe. A game designer turns up dead and one of the three people he was building games for is the suspect. But Conan's more interested in the possibility that he might have been a link to the Men in Black.
I know better than to hope for it, but I really *wanted* this to be the start of some more information about the Black organization. Alas, as so many volumes of this manga, it ends in the middle of a case. What next, Detective Conan? WHAT NEXT?!?
