Idk I’m just so bored by the “side story” happening in this series and I want to get back to the main characters story!! Why did the side story take up like 75% of this volume? It’s so boring 😭🫠
okay okay okay, it was good but not as good as the others. The next volume follows the main story again and I'm so excited. I miss my Baby Chishiya:( He wasn't in this Volume, but one thing I really liked in this volume is the game of jack of hearts cause there was more information and I understood more than in the show and it made more sense tom me, why certain things happened the way they happened. Or why some people helped together in this game :)
Pls Dont be to harsh on my reviews I'm still learning, and English is also not my first language. Happy Reading My Loves!!!
The main character only has a cameo in this whole damn book as the first quarter wraps up the boring trust game from last volume and the rest starts a side story with junior high student Hayato Dodo on the run from the mercilessly lethal King of Spades. At least this Predator knock-off is engaging as Dodo crosses paths with Morizono Aguni and Akane Heiya, two very competent and dangerous survivors.
I'm hoping this series will find its focus again now that there are only a couple volumes left.

Wow.
We’ve gone so far off the tracks of what made this series great in the first few volumes. The protagonist isn’t even in this one. It’s just one long run-on action sequence with characters I don’t care about. What a colossal disappointment this series has turned into. I had to skim this volume.
This was a very confusing volume for me. A lot happend and in very dark places what made me confused with keeping up who was who. Loved the backstory and more insight in the karacters in comparisent to the show
Again, an amazing volume in this manga series! I loved the psychological game in the Jack of Hearts and the side story of the King of Spades. I really liked the character development of Aguni. As well as how he connects with Heiya and Dodo. I think the three of them made an amazing team!
Another solid volume! This one had a big side story, which I really enjoyed. I've seen a lot of reviews saying they don't enjoy the main story getting sidelined for these side stories... But I honestly don't mind, I love seeing some back stories of certain characters, how some games we don't see go down and so on. I hope I see certain characters again soon, I'm guessing I will... I miss Chishiya, okay? I love him. Anyhoo... Onto the second to last all in one volume!
I'm rather annoyed by the fact that the King of Spades game is considered a side story when in the show all the main characters came together to destroy the vicious killer. Not that I have anything against Heiya or Aguni to be honest but Arisu, Usagi, An, and Kuina would have made the win much more satisfying as they after all did in the show. Dodo is a character which was, to my knowledge, entirely removed from the show and I don't regret that decision at all. I'd much rather follow the stories of characters I'm rooting for and I've taken the time to learn about rather than ones I can hardly empathise with since I'm only given a backstory and very little character development. Other than that I was happy to see Aguni find some peace after all he went through.
I didn't much care for the Jack of Hearts game either especially since the Jack cheated and in my opinion, everyone should be given a fair chance at games like these. I fully understand that Chota and Karube weren't. I didn't enjoy this one much either for the fact that the characters all came across as rather dry and it was hard for me to care about whether they died or not, as I mentioned in my previous review, because they don't have much depth. The way the jack of hearts was discovered to be the mastermind behind all the deaths didn't particularly impress me either for the fact that too many people had already lost their lives so their efforts proved rather insignificant.
I enjoyed this volume more than some of the more recent ones I’ve read. The Solitary Confinement game became more interesting in this volume as the numbers dwindled down. I also didn’t see the twist of the Jack of Hearts coming. I’m very curious to see how the survivors of that game may come into story down the line.
I also liked the King of Spades game. It was fun to see Dodo and Aguni again. I started to like Heiya more. Their little found family was a nice touch. Hoping to not be too devastated by anything that might happen to them, especially the friendship between Dodo and Aguni.
As weird as it may seem since we went the whole volume (at least I think) without seeing Arisu outside of flashbacks, I honestly liked the story better from these side characters. Sure, I’m not as invested in them as I am him, but his story was starting to feel a little stale. I’m glad we didn’t have to spend a ton of time with him refusing to participate in the games.
With only two volumes left and one face card game to go, I’m very curious to see how this series is going to end.
I loved it, and the symbolism and sort of glorification of the king of spades battle was amazing, I just live my big boy Aguni too much!
Being so diferent from the tv adaptation was a bit tricky for my, I missed the other characters specifically Ann and Kuina as they appeared way more there and are sort of forgotten in the manga. But the other characters made up for it, Dodo was an incredible part of this arc.
Also, loved the ending of the Jack of Hearts, very well played.
Our main characters aren’t in this one at all but the Baddie from like 3 books back is and I love her. Just confused why the setting is trying to convince us she’s 23 when she acts like she’s 16 (which she is??)
(Not confused at all actually I know how the adultification and infantilization of women is used)
Semplicemente fantastico!!!!
