Just the way you are: Unexpected Love Book 1

Blake
They say that everything happens in threes. That's fine. But why me? And all in one day. I was left jobless; my car almost broke down on the side of the road; and when I finally did make it to the garage in my hometown, Stone Ridge, I ended up face to face with the local mechanic, Mitch Travis.

He was everything I shied away from. Tall, dark, sexy as hell. And worst of all? A man.

I gravitated toward him like no one else before.

Until I met his adorable little girl and opened my mouth, allowing my past to control my emotions. He kicked me out of his workshop, leaving me carless and stranded.

Lucky for me, I didn't need to see him again. Or that's what I thought before I ended up on his doorstep for an interview to be his nanny.

Mitch
Life was good, great even. I had a successful business and the best daughter a guy could ask for. I didn't need anything else.

Until she walked into my shop with sinful curves and long auburn hair.
She reignited that spark I thought was long lost.

Blake Sawyer was everything I didn't know I wanted. And someone my daughter needed.

But that was soon doused when she pried into my life, throwing around accusations, opening up old wounds I kept buried.

I never wanted to see her again, but fate disagreed. Imagine my shock when SHE showed up on my doorstep to be my daughter's nanny.

If you want a book that hooks you and pulls you in from the first chapter you NEED to read this. This is one of my favorite 5 star reads this year! It is worth every penny and hour Ive spent reading. The main characters are very well spoken and described. The storyline is very well executed. There wasnt a moment in this book when I was disapointed or that I wanted to put the book down, because I didnt want to put the book down at all I wanted to keep reading. I said multiple times one more chapter before I go to bed and I end up getting sucked in and by the time I realized ive read 2/3 more chapters. I hope you enjoy Mitch and Bee's story just as much as I do!

Received as an ARC in return for my honest review

🔧 Single Dad x Nanny
🔧 Small town
🔧 Curvy FMC
🔧 Mechanic MMC
🔧 Dyslexia representation

Thank God for having an FMC who isn’t a tiny petite thing shacking up with a brute of a man. Bee is nearly 6 ft with curves for days and a total smoke show!! Granted Mitch is still a brute of a man but where would the fun be if he wasn’t able to throw her around when the time called for it 😜

I loved their story, although they get off on the wrong foot and she drops the ball with inappropriate questions to his daughter when she first meets her they finally work it out. I found that they worked really well together as characters and the world building was nicely done

I can’t wait for Elle and Jaxon’s story!

3.75 / 5 ⭐️

I really enjoyed the beginning of the book and got invested in the characters. The communication in the being was freaking amazing! The part that really threw me off was the break up, I just didn’t understand how you could go from great communication and listening to not.
I loved the relationship between Blake and Indie and the epilogue was perfect for their relationship and individual desires!
I do really want to read Jackson and Elle’s story! I know it’s going to be great!

This took me a lot longer than it should have because I was in a reading slump for the month of January. But I absolutely loved Mitch and Blake’s story. The only thing I did not enjoy was the breakup scene. I thought that it was pushed a little too much. My favorite part was the epilogue and that he is a mechanic 😍 & who could not forget how Indie was the cutest thing in existence. I cannot wait for Jaxon and Elle’s story now!

* Oh my heart. I finished this story with the biggest grin on my face. So satisfied with how everything played out. This story makes you think, makes you feel, makes you see… so many different things.

* The story of Blake and Mitch, such a whirlwind. Lust, hesitation, insecurities, longing, love… and so much more. Blake is such an amazing FMC and Mitch is 100% her counterpart.

* One of my favorite things in books is the MCs best friend(s) who are also equally awesome and you love, and this book had exactly what I wanted in that aspect.

tear jerker

Another first for me from this Author and she did not disappoint. I wanted to once again throw my device across the room in certain scenes but that’s when you know the book is great.

This story is all about self worth, self love, and finding true family in the midst of darkness. I loved how this author showed us that no matter how bad your past can be it will not determine your future and that there are good people in this world.

Mitch and Bee are perfect for each other and my gosh 4 year old indie stole the show making me snort laugh 🤭 plenty of times until I was crying. I highly recommend this book especially to those are feeling less than worthy!

I have had the absolute pleasure of reading an Advanced Copy of Just the way you are, and let me tell you ⭐️whooooa⭐️
Could not put it down until I devoured it to the last page.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Jayme has a special touch of humour and a light hand in bringing up heavy topics with such sensibility, you can't help but want to band to her cause.

Blake and Mitch, a sweet steamy romance, loads of heart, loads of laughs out loud, loads of tears. 😍😍😍
They are both beautifully flawed and display such a wonderful vulnerability, it's easy to relate to each of them.

I'll have to admit tho', for me, Elle takes the cake.

Elle, you're my spirit animal.

Just the way you are and Jayme Louise.

Definitely a NOT TO MISS debut author and her heartfelt debut book!

Keep 'em coming! Waiting (im)patiently. 😍

Sweet, steamy, and beautifully real, this book made me cry just as much as it made me laugh. Blake is an endearing FMC who you can relate to immediately, and her growth throughout the book made me so happy. Mitch was to die for, a totally hot, hunky cinnamon roll! I loved their instant chemistry and the beautiful dynamic they had with Indie and their friends.

It was so easy to fall into the lives of these characters, and I'm really excited to see what's in store in Book 2!

4/5 stars. This book touched on quite a few triggering subjects but had a cute love story between the main characters. There was quite a bit of grammar errors, so that resulted in one less star from me. I liked that the female lead was a strong, independent woman, and it held quite a bit of spice, if you're into that.

A cute read of this debut novel by this author. Blake and Mitch both have had difficult paths, but stumble across each other and are connected almost instantly. They fall a little too fast, but I like that they are both family oriented and bond over the love they have for his daughter. Can’t wait to read the next book in the series!

I LOVED all of the characters and what they brought to the story. The main character was so relatable to so many women. There were such great lessons to take away from this story if you just look at what is right in front of you.

I really enjoyed this story. This was just a hint of enemies to lovers before Mitch and Bee decided to take a chance on one another. Mitch immediately going all in and writing his notes to Bee was an ultimate swoon! The relationship between Bee and Mitch's daughter Indie was super sweet. I love a dedicated single father romance. This book had excellent rep for learning disabilities (heroine has dyslexia) and for reproductive choice. I loved that Mitch and Bee built a family in their own way. This was a beautiful story of found family and of acceptance. Looking forward to Elle's book!

I loved how raw and relatable this book was.

Even though there were moments I struggled to read, due to its sensitive subject, I still wanted to keep going to find out how things turned out for them! Don’t know what Jayme put in the book, but I absolutely devoured it in one sitting.

My emotions were all over the place as I didn’t know what to do first - laugh or cry 😅

I also loved how Mitch helped Bee overcome certain things and how he opened up to her with all his struggles.

I loved everything about this book.

Oh and the 4 year old’s speech? LOVED IT! It was one of the sweet highlights of this book.

Looking forward to reading book 2 🩷

“Like a fucking thief, you stole my breath and made my heart stop. The world around me ceased to exist. I forgot my own fucking name. No one, and I mean no one, has ever done that to me. Only you.“

Sweet, spicy, relatable

Just the way you are is sweet, spicy, and relatable. Once I started reading, I didn't want to put it down! I loved the main characters. Blake has a lot of emotional trauma leftover from her childhood and teenage years that Mitch has to break through to convince her that he loves her and wants to be with her just the way she is, perceived flaws and all. I loved the side characters, as well - Elle and Jaxon, and Indie, Mitch's adorable daughter. Jayme did a great job portraying the speech of a 4 year old and how they can't quite pronounce words properly yet. I can't wait to read the next books in the series!

Loved this book! Mitch is a tall, dark, and handsome mechanic whose dating life has been put on hold after he became a single dad. That was, until Blake and her car barely made it to his auto shop, where they had a disastrous first meeting and he kicked her out. He wasn’t too happy when she showed up on his doorstep to interview as a nanny, but it wasn’t long before he realized she was perfect for him and Indie. He just had to convince her of it.

Just the way you are

I found this book not only a sweet love story between Mitch and Blake but with Blake with herself. Many women have unrealistic body image expectations. I loved her battle to do better, and her love for others, especially Indie, Mitch's daughter. I usually read darker romances, but love new reads of all kinds. I would definitely recommend this book. We as women can overcome so much and get that happy ending, this books drives that home.
