Look at that cover. Seriously. LOOK that cute fluffy bear in the face and TELL me that he isn't coming home with you.
Argh. One of the worst parts about living in reality is that Paddington Bear will only live between the covers of a book (or on the big screen, I suppose).
Either way, I can't pinch his cheeks and that's a federal crime.
*Ahem* I suppose you are here for a review.

Paddington
Mr. and Mrs. Brown are waiting in Paddington Station for their daughter, Judy, when Mr. Brown notices an odd-looking creature near the lost luggage. They wander over to the little bear and discover that he is a stowaway from Darkest Peru with instructions attached to a necklace. Mrs. Brown could not bear (ha) leaving this bear behind, and thus he becomes part of the Brown Famiy...though not without a few mishaps along the way.
"Please look after this bear. Thank you."
Paddington at the Palace
Mr. Gruber and Paddington are heading to Buckingham Palace to watch the changing of the guard. Poor Mr. Gruber has his hands FULL with Paddington's unintended antics but who could ever be upset with such a sweet bear?
"Paddington peered through the railings and waved his own flag several times in case the Queen was watching."
Paddington at the Zoo
Paddington is so excited for the zoo! He has a pile of marmalade sandwiches, Jonathan has a camera and Judy is ready with the directions - only one problem...the zoo animals are hungry and they love marmalade too!
"One day Jonathan and Judy decided to take Paddington on an outing to the zoo."
Paddington in the Garden
Paddington Bear spent the morning writing out what he was grateful for, and one of the best things he could think of was the garden. Mrs. Bird, the housekeeper, suggests that Paddington should have a spot of his own to putter about and garden...and while things get messy (oh, so very messy!), Paddington creates a beautiful little planted area of his own.
"But nice gardens didn't just happen. They usually required a lot of hard work..."
Paddington and the Marmalade Maze
Hampton Court is a beautifully old and historic palace - Mr. Gruber and Paddington take a tour, seeing an unusual clock, royal bedrooms, and haunted hallways. The palace is also known for having one of the oldest living mazes in England - the hedges provide quite the conundrum for Mr. Gruber and a variety of tourists...but lucky for them, Paddington Bear is there!
"It's very old and has over a thousand rooms. Lots of Kings and Queens lived here."
Paddington the Artist
Mr. Gruber explains that this is what's known as an Outdoor Exhibition and that you can purchase the paintings for your own house. Paddington liked the idea of the sale but the art just isn't his style...but he knows what to do. Let's just say that paint will fly...in every direction!
"One Sunday Paddington was out for a walk with his friend Mr. Gruber, when they came across some paintings tied to the railings outside a park."

This is a very precious book for younger readers. The lovely illustrations and the cute, brave and kind little hero of this book just make it a perfect bedtime story.

I can't believe I missed this lovable bear and his adventures as a child. Will definitely be adding his other stories/books to my reading list, so will have more to share later.
Ages: 4+
Cleanliness: "goodness gracious" and "thank goodness" are said. Mentions a ghost that haunts a room in a palace.
**Like my reviews? I also have hundreds of detailed reports that I offer too. These reports give a complete break-down of everything in the book, so you'll know just how clean it is or isn't. I also have Clean Guides (downloadable PDFs) which enable you to clean up your book before reading it! Visit my website: The Book Radar.

I love the adventures of Paddington! I can’t wait to read more!

The Paddington Treasury is a beautifully illustrated book with lovely, glossy pages.
However, the contents are *abridged*, and there is no mention of this anywhere. If I did not have a recollection of its contents as a child reading this in the 90s, I might have thought this was the complete story. It's not. It's a simplified (elegantly done) version, and can definitely be recommended as a book for younger bedtime story audiences whose attention spans may not match the length of the originals.
But if you are someone on the hunt for the full-length children's books that you grew up on, this, sadly, is not it.

We love Paddington! These stories are so cute and fun for all ages. My kids ages 0 to 9 all love cuddling up to read them and the illustrations are very sweet too. If you haven't read any Paddington books before this is a great starter set, perfect for bedtime reading!

The Paddington Treasury not to be confused with Paddington Treasury which includes selected outtakes is a delightful reprint of Michael Bond's vintage Paddington illustrated by R. W. Alley. I am not sure how The Padding Treasury compares to The Paddington Treasury for the Very Young. Michael Bond or Paddington's London Treasury.
The Paddington Treasury (2014) is apparently a collection of picture books held together in one 157 page volume. This book and the picture books included are all reprints from the early 2000s, specially in honor of the release of the new film coming later this year.
As our family read aloud, we're currently reading A Bear Called Paddington where I've found that Paddington appears to be a good example for expressions and thought of a slightly clueless yet anxious to learn youngster. In a status update comment I had said that Paddington appears to be a British George (referring to Curious George) however it is more as if George is an American German (?) Paddington, as Paddington was written at least a decade before George.
Paddington
I've found that the picture book Paddington is definitely taken straight from the first chapters of A Bear Called Paddington. What a lovely illustrated version of the beginning of a tale. Paddington is adventurous and curious and might cause his caretakers a headache, but he seems to be loveable too.
Paddington in the Garden
This one is a new story to me, but definitely key to Paddington as well in his unique nature. Chaos equaling something new in a surprising and entertaining way. I thoroughly enjoy the illustrations of R.W. Alley and his version of Paddington. He is cute and cuddly and I just want to snatch him off the page to give him a squeeze.

After watching the "Paddington" movie that came out this year, and because my son and I loved it so much, I decided it would be good if I could find a "Paddington" collection of books to read. This one was perfect for my son as the illustrations were huge and not very much text for him to get bored with. The series is so stereotypically British but with a fun kid twist. Paddington is a Peruvian bear whose elderly aunt can no longer take care of him and ships him to England to be cared for. He arrives at Paddington station, which is how he gets his name, and is adopted by the Brown family. He has an affinity for marmalade, and can usually be seen with his nose in a jar of the stuff. He is always getting into trouble for simply misunderstanding the situation. The book features 6 classic picture books: "Paddington", "Paddington at the Palace", "Paddington at the Zoo", "Paddington in the Garden", "Paddington and the Marmalade Maze", and "Paddington the Artist". My favorites were "Paddington", "Paddington at the Palace" and "Paddington the Artist". The illustrations were fabulous, this artist being one of two who have illustrated the series. Highly recommended for ages 3-7, 5 stars.

Well, this book was just a delight. Paddington epitomizes the innocence and beauty of young childhood. It is our duty as parents/guardians to read of this good-hearted bear to the children in our lives.

My Review: All I remember about these books from when I was a kid was that he was a cute bear that loved marmalade. Upon reading them to Munchkin I love them even more. The stories are all cute and fun for little ones and the illustrations are adorable. I think I loved Garden Paddington and Paddington the Artist the best because he got creative and put his ideas into action. I really hope Munchkin likes these stories enough to re-read many times over.

My son did an online art class today and the theme was Paddington. We read some stories from this treasury, and I finished reading it after the class. I had most of the Paddington books when I was a child and I loved them. The English expressions ("It's all highly irregular"), Paddington enjoying his "elevenses" with Mr. Gruber, and the way things always worked out took me down memory lane to a simpler and, in some ways, happier time.
Still, my children are a gift I always treasure!
Thank you, Michael Bond!

Brilliant, classic and something to be cherished! Paddington is what childhoods are built around, reading this treasury was like stepping back into the days of youth. Watching my children's eye expand and interest peeked when reading this aloud to them was such a gift. This is a book that needs to be in every child's library and one that would make a perfect baby gift! 5 stars!

My children enjoyed these stories about Paddington, though not nearly as much as the novels we've done. These stories didn't seem to be as funny, possibly because they were shorter and therefore could not go deeper. I imagine this collection would be better for younger children who would probably very much enjoy the silliness and the many wonderful pictures that accompany the stories.

Paddington times 6! 6 wonder stories of Paddington bear with beautiful illustrations that make you feel like you want to jump into them. Always a pleasure to read even as an older adult. If like could so funny and charming.

Paddington has stood the test of time. I noticed this at our library the last time out and picked it up for my 2 year-old. She was immediately enamored, and my 9 year-old was also sneaking in to listen. This is an excellent collection and a really nicely made book.

Paddington continues to delight me, both Bond's stories and Alley's illustrations are charming and fun. Plus, each of these six stories is just the right length for a bedtime story.

How have I never read any Paddington stories before?! They are so charming and now I can add Paddington to my list of favorite bears (right behind Winnie the Pooh).

What really sets this book apart are the fantastic illustrations. Great reading for kids at bedtime.

The illustrations are very nice but the stories are abridged and so much of the beauty is lost.
