A vibrant lift the flap book that asks ‘peek a boo who?’ On every page a cut out animal silhouette lifts to reveal a full color painting of each animal. What I don’t love is the inaccurate coloring of some of the animals. No pig I know has multi-colored spots and a striped tail. If all the animals were wild variarions, and a note explained that, or they were all roughly accurate it would be less problematic. But a book designed to teach a child to recognize animals should provide some consistency. (Imho)

Die-cut holes in the shape of the animal that will be revealed when the flaps are lifted make for a very engaging experience for little ones. In addition to that, silhouette images of all the animals appear on the front and back pages. You can chat with baby, toddler, or pre-schooler about the animal sounds or habitats and identify background colors as well. A more sophisticated three-year-old might even like the colors to be "majenta" rather than pink, "teal", and "periwinkle blue".

This was one of the first books that my daughter engaged with as an infant. She loved the bold colorful illustrations, the die-cut openings, and the flaps to be lifted. As she learned to talk, it was a great book to start teaching her animal names, and sometimes we even made sounds for each animal.

While it's not the most stimulating of reads for an adult--my daughter has read it so many times that it's falling apart and she's only 22 months old.

For what it is, and what it aims to do, it's a good book. Definitely recommended as part of a new baby's book collection.

"Peek-a-Boo...Who?" is a great book for young children who enjoy playing peek-a-boo. This book takes one of the child's favorite games and incorporates it in a reading environment. This book helps children to establish cause and effect. When the child lifts up the flaps on each page, they are surprised with an animal hiding! This simple text engages a young child when reading and helps to establish joint attention with the person they are reading and playing peek-a-boo with.

This wordless book is great for pre-school children or younger. It is a way of using a book to show children what is going to come next with out having words. I would use this book to help children make up their own stories.

Cute cut outs to reveal who is peek a booing! I know my 18 month old grand daughter would love this. I am wondering how it will hold up to library use as the cut-outs are not super strong.
