Well Christine has done it again, she has absolutely amazed me with her writing. We get to meet several of the characters in book one of this series and I love that Christine has continued to give us multiple povs through this book. If I could give this book more stars I would definitely because 5 just isn’t enough!
The book focuses on Mac and while I got annoyed at her at times through the book I really felt a connection with her. She had been through so much and she was so strong, even when she was vulnerable she showed great strength!
Deputy Jimmy Jones was a brilliant character, he has it all imo! He’s funny, caring, good at his job and just an all around great character! I loved the relationship he developed with Detective Walter’s as well as his parents was lovely to read! He is definitely my favourite character of the series.
Getting to see more of Della and John was a massive bonus that I absolutely loved! Their relationship is complex and never easy so fingers crossed we get a bit more of them in the next instalment of this series.
Getting to read Hunters pov was insightful and really interesting. It is another reason I love this series, it is different to other books I’ve read and I appreciate Christine’s writing style so much!
Throughout this book I think I felt every single emotion known to man, it put me through the wringer and I absolutely got sucked into their world. Having multiple distractions from reading really annoyed me this weekend because once I started this book I found it hard to step away from it! It drew me straight in from the very first page and I couldn’t wait to devour it! I’m just gutted that I’ve finished it!
Christine’s writing is absolutely amazing and if you haven’t read her books then why the heck not? Because you are really missing out!
I’ve had one hell of a book hangover since finishing this book, it drew me in from the very first page until the last and i struggled to leave it down!
Christine’s writing style is very unique imo, she doesn’t just give us a happy ever after she makes us work for it! I’ve loved everything she has written so far and I cannot wait to read more from her.
Mac took me a while to warm up to but once I did I ended up really liking her, she’s been through so much and is a very resilient character!
Deputy Jones and Detective Walter’s tie for my favourites in this series! They’re both such likeable characters but in different ways! Jones is a bit like an eager puppy and detective Walter’s is an absolute grump at times but you can’t help like him.
Della was a complete badass! I loved her character and I hope we get more of her in the future!
Overall this has been one of my favourite reads along with book 1 in a longgggg time and I can’t wait for more from Christine!
Det John Walters. Oh my. Dep Jones. Too cute. Della still sounds amazing! Mac at 1st she’s moody & guarded but then you get her story and realise why. Then she opens up & is such a good character. Agent Ryan may be background but what a guy he is too. This just started off as it went on. Excellent. The 1st book was great this just blew it away. You can read them as standalones. But why? Read them both. You won’t regret it. Serial killer on the hunt and he’s wicked. The way this is woven I have no idea how Christine Winston kept it all together. Fab.
I absolutely loved this story. The suspense was thrilling, on the edge of your seat stuff. I love this series of books. Everyone has a different signature and so well researched for the small details. It has an underline love story that just bubbles away with a, will they won't they vibe. !? This gorgeous author has done it again. Really super excited and can't wait for the next one. We'll done
I absolutely loved this book and couldn’t put it down. Not only was there the suspense but romance, too. All the characters were well rounded and the plot was believable and well researched. I loved the romance element and am desperate to find out what happens in both relationships in the next book. Gripping and thoroughly recommended.
