Heart wrenching love story

On the other side: Memories of a past life is written as the story of a former life of the author, Adria Sanders. However, the story itself is a fascinating read.

It is a tragic love story set in Cuba in the early 1900s. The cultural descriptions and historical references are gripping. My husband's family is from Cuba, but I knew little about it other than the history we learn in school from the later part of the century. The descriptive passages made ne feel like I was there. I liked that the author included reference links for additional information.

Even if you don't believe in past lives, I recommend this for hopeless romantics and lovers of historical fiction.

Each reader can perceive the book from various angles. There are readers who will only see the sensitive, dramatic story, with a little thriller, mystery and a lot of psychology. Other readers will be impressed by the author's experience in trying to deal with experiences from a previous life.

Adria Sanders' On the Other Side: Memories of a Past Life presents an engaging exploration of the boundaries between a person's current life and their past lives. The book delves into Adria's lucid dreams, exploring reincarnation, and the intricacies of the human mind, offering readers a unique literary experience. Going back in time to early 20th-century Cuba, the narrative follows the life of Ana, affectionately known as Ani, a young girl of mixed heritage. The book begins with an evocative scene of Ani, aged five, on a sunlit porch overlooking a desolate beach, dressed in a striking red and white polka dot dress.

Sanders skilfully transports readers to Ana's life circa 1919, where she meets a blond Englishman, Officer Richard Gunther, or Rico. The interwoven love story of Ani and Rico mirrors the author's personal journey, seeking meaning and a profound connection with Rico through the lens of lucid dreams. The book encourages readers to immerse themselves in Sanders' unconventional exploration, akin to engaging with a gripping film or novel. Sanders recounts transformative experiences, such as navigating new dimensions through lucid dreaming and astral travel from 2018 to 2019, which significantly reshaped her life as a dynamic businesswoman. This exploration of parallel lives between her present and past selves leads to poignant revelations of healing and self-discovery. On the Other Side invites reflection on the nature and implications of lucid dreaming. It raises questions about whether these experiences uncover profound truths or are mere figments of the imagination, stimulating ongoing discussions about human consciousness.

On the Other Side is a captivating book that delves into the world of metaphysical exploration. It offers a mesmerizing and thought-provoking journey into the realms of past life experiences, astral journeys, and regressive hypnosis. The author's skillful storytelling and descriptive writing style transports the reader to extraordinary places and helps them envision these otherworldly experiences. If you are an open-minded reader seeking an engrossing and enlightening read, On the Other Side is the perfect book for you.

On the Other Side is a series of vignettes by Adria Sanders. After discovering lucid dreaming and astral travel, Sanders realizes she was Ana "Ani" Mendez Gunther in another life. Living in Lain America with her father and nanny, Ani grows into a bold female who falls in love with Richard "Rico" Gunther. Their lives are difficult, and they are unable to grow old together. One lover is purposely murdered, sending the other into thoughts of unending grief and revenge. Also, a man with a cane haunts Ani's life, having caused a serious upset in her family. Sanders emphasizes the love, betrayal, and sadness in her story as she interprets them from her dreams.

Intriguing and mysterious, with a romance that stands the test of time, Adria Sanders reveals a story from a past life, luring readers into the early twentieth century. Told in short thoughts, the words and actions resemble dreams in which we only receive a scene at a time. Sanders pieces her experiences together and delivers a unique reading landscape. The author is an active businesswoman who is good at separating fact from fiction, and she knows her interpretations are real. Her story is a confident retelling of her feelings as Ani, and the love story between Ani and Rico is a beautiful connection that has followed her into another life. For those who believe they have been involved in a past life or are curious about the possibility, On the Other Side will give them a reason to investigate their feelings further.

"On the Other Side: A Past Life Spiritual Journey" by Adria Sanders is an evocative dive into past life memories, weaving together a love story and the mysteries of the soul. The novel transports readers to early 20th-century Cuba, where we follow the tragic tale of Ana and Rico. Sanders does a brilliant job of describing Cuba's lush landscapes and vibrant culture, adding rich and immersive historical depth.

However, the book's use of short, punchy sentences distracted me. Rather than building intensity, it sometimes disrupted the story's flow. It made it harder to fully sink into the emotional weight of Ana's journey. Despite this, Sanders' poetic touch in describing lucid dreams and the ethereal connection to past lives adds an enchanting layer. Her insights into astral travel and the journey of the soul are both intriguing and thought-provoking, ideal for those curious about spirituality.

Though some readers may find the pacing uneven and would appreciate a more fluid writing style, the story is still a compelling exploration of identity and destiny. For those fascinated by past life regression and spiritual awakenings, ‘On the Other Side’ offers a unique glimpse into what might lie beyond. It's a memorable read that lingers despite some stylistic quirks.

I wasn't expecting this to be a love story when I read it but Im glad of the direction in which the story unfurled. I loved the style of writing, with the short, chopping sentences and vivid imagery and expressions of emotions. The use of the word passion is prevalent in the style of writing. You can feel the authors passion for the story, sharing the experience and story that arose from their lucid dreams. Lucid dreams that Ana also experiences during her tumultuous but short life. I don't think one has to believe in the idea of past lives in order to enjoy this book. Though, there is beauty in the idea of having a past life, and being destined for certain inevitabilities. From the beginning, the author invites you to read it like a novel or take it in like a movie and it flowed just fine in that aspect. The story was very emotional and you feel for so many characters, from Ama, to Ana's dad, to Paco, Ana and Rico. I enjoyed the complexity of each character and this is a book I can see myself picking up again to explore that varying nuances that make up the story. Well written and interesting. Would recommend.

I had a hard time with this book. It was well-written and by all accounts, an engaging read delivered with earnest intent. However, I had a difficult time believing the author when she spoke of her personal experiences. This book is part autobiographical and part fiction which I don't think worked as well as it could have. The fiction watered down the author's intention to bare her soul and experiences, to share space with the readers.

Nonetheless, it is a feat to write a 300+ page book. I applaud Adria Sanders for that. I enjoyed the poetic moments, and often Sanders gave the readers something incredibly intriguing to latch onto--Ana and Rico's story is enticing and a book of their story alone would have been great to hold.

I don't deny Sanders her experiences, nor do I disagree with the existence of past lives. However, I do think that this book is just two books shoved into one when more separateness would have gone a long way toward understanding and engagement.

I did enjoy reading this book overall, and it got more interesting the further I got. It was hard to get into at first, and I almost had to put it down but I'm glad I kept reading. The beginning was a bit slow and hard to follow, but after the first chapter and a half-ish it really picked up steam and was fun to read.

Either we believe or not in past lives, that doesn't mean they don't exist.

The fact that some of us can experience the consciousness of another existence, could give us something to think about...

But not matter if we believe in previous lives or not, each of us can find ourselves in the pages of this emotional book, in which we find everything that makes us Human: the struggle for ideals, solidarity, love, the power to go to the end and to start over again, acceptance, forgiveness, hope.
