Faisel: I’ve always felt the pressure to succeed, but instead of the conventional path, one that my family wanted, I chose music. As the drummer for Wayward Lane, I’ve experienced all the highs and lows of rockstar life including addiction. Now there’s another battle I’m facing - my intense feelings for my best friend and bandmate, Ronin Stadler. We grew up together, inseparable to this day but our lifelong bond is shifting. Do I keep my feelings a secret or risk our friendship for something more?

Ronin: Growing up in a home that was anything but stable, music was my escape and Faisel Reed, my rock. My friendship with him has grounded me, weathering the craziness of rockstar life. But lately, he’s been pulling away and for the first time in a long time, I’m scared. The thought of losing him makes me look at our relationship in a whole new light. One that looks a lot like… forever.

4-Ever is a best friends to lovers, hurt/comfort, MM rockstar romance filled with magnetic chemistry, lifelong love, and a HEA fit for rockstar soulmates.

Audio: 4 stars Zachary Zaba did a good job

Book: DNF @61%

You can read this as a standalone.

I was looking forward to Ronin and Faise’s book, but it just didn’t work for me. The flash backs were interesting, yes it was good to see their early friendship, but then they started showing them being with other people (hooking up, or dating) and I didn’t love that. I get that it was a lot of pining for these two because they didn’t want to ruin the band dynamics but everyone knew they were meant for each other.

Also when they started getting together I didn’t love it. It was on hyper speed, like they made out, had a hand job in the shower then Ronin is like Faise move in. Well there was a little more with Ronin’s sister, but still it was like blink and they are moving in and doing the relationship thing! Haha

In the end book 2 is the best of the series.

Such a great ending to this series. I love Ronin and Faisel and I’m so glad to finally read their story. I love rockstar books, but throw in friends to lovers, hurt/comfort, pining and forced proximity, I’m hooked! If you’re a fan of this series, this is a must read!!

I really thought I was going to like this, but I struggled for the first 50% or so. While it was nice to see how their relationship started when they were 10, it got old really quick. Mainly because we moved from how they grew up together, to then having them pine away for one another while having to read about them having sex with all these other guys. I really hate that. I mean, we already knew that from the first two books and experienced it, so I'm not sure why we had to do it again.

Once they got together the book got better for sure. It went super speedy after that though. I don't even think they talked about it initially, just messed around in the shower, and then Ronin says you're moving in and Faise agrees lol

A friends-to-lovers MM rockstar romance which takes us on a journey through years of beautiful friendship(s), starts & struggles, wild rock'n'roll, longing, hurt, sweetness & some action to wrap it up!
I adore this band, loved Faisel & Ronin! Devoured my #ARC in around 6hrs ❤️.

They became friends in school, bonded over their love of music. (Loved their Size difference & Protectiveness 😍)
Faisel is the shy, quiet drummer who I loved to see grow into confidence. His struggles with addiction & longing hurt 🥺. I liked his fam! His mom is from Kashmir, India yay ❤️ (hint: I'm Indian too!).
Ronin is the bassist who feels deeply, but has a joking & fun persona. His drive to succeed for his mom & sis is admirable. His dad's an asshole 😤.

This book took us on a journey from start, we saw all their major moments. I LOVEDDD THAT! We also gloss over some scenes that happen in last 2 books. These Rockstars were WILD in their youth 🙈. The voyeurism omg 🥵 (see TW). But some moments did go by fast that I wished were lingered on 😔 (those would've increased angst tho lol).

It's a fascinating to see how F+R's feelings for eachother change throughout the years! The feels, fear, pining, longing! But what'll make em cross the line? 😉😉 I loved their siblings & those subplots here! There's angst here obvs, but YAY Ava didn't torture us too much! R+F are so cute & HOT. Love me a vers couple!

The epilogue was packed with goodness! Such a great ending to this series ❤️. P.s. I'd totally read a 2nd gen band book lol.

❥ Dual POV

❥ Best Friends to Lovers
❥ Bandmates
❥ Years of Pining
❥ Hurt/Comfort
❥ Slow Burn

This is the first book I’ve read/listened to by Ava Olsen, and it’s the third book in a series. I don’t feel like I missed out on anything important, but I do plan on reading the first two about the two other guys in their rock band. Obviously reading a third book in a series comes with some spoilers, but I don’t think it has ruined anything for me. 4-Ever was greatly narrated by Zachary Zaba, who I’ve never listened to before. He did a great job making Faisel and Ronin their own characters, and they sound nothing alike.

I loved everything about Faisel and Ronin’s story. The highs and lows, and everything in between. Watching them grow up together, their friendship and their closeness. It’s in many ways a sad story, my heart especially broke for Faisel. I would definitely consider their story a slow burn, with years of pining and keeping their feelings a secret.

Uff... Where to start? I really wanted to like that book more. But I had high expectations and the story let me down. Hard. I love friends to lovers stories. And this one had potential. Friends since 20 years. Went through a lot together. Both caring characters and likeable. But where is the change into love? Where is the slowly falling, tenderness, confusion, longing? As I said, I expected a lot and didn't get it. Too fast, too unbelievable, too much of other stuff going on and not enough romance. Just making out and boom there's that. Nope, not after 20 years of friendship.

4.5 stars. I love to be a witness to the moment where the band is been born, including the name!

First, we hop on and off the bus that rides us through their youth, starting at ten years old, best friends forever!
We are at the point where we know they have deeper feelings for each other. Do they talk about it? No!

You know the say: Sex, Dr*gs, and Rock’n Roll.
They did it all, Faisel does too, and way too much, to a critical point, even Ronin can’t help him.

We are at the point where they turned thirty and things are changing.
Afraid to lose his best friend, but impossible to go on as they do, Faisel withdraws. Cut off contact where possible. Dang boy, that hurt, why? Keeping Ronin out of his life was hurtful, for both.

Gosh, when they finally gave in to their yearning it was everything. But… also frightening will this change the dynamic of the band in a bad way, what if it all goes wrong?
Ha! You never met Ronin because he’s determined!

Their sexual encounters are hot af, but even more, it was emotional, finally, it was so right, I got goosebumps, and I couldn’t help it.

There is more going on in this story than the two of them, there is a nasty case with an abusive boyfriend, and there’s also threats from unknown sides.

Okay, I wanted to scream at the interruptions, dang those moments!
I loved this read, Faisel and Ronin are so good for each other, but it’s not only about them, it’s also about the other band members and their partners. Together they are soooo good!
Overall a wonderfully written story and a wonderful series. I loved every story dearly!

“Just like the air I breathed every single day, he was necessary to me.”

I am an enemies-to-lovers girl through and through but when someone writes a friends-to-lovers like this, I simply melt. Add in some hurt/comfort and I’m sold. This series is in one word amazing and Faisel and Ronin are the perfect ending. They have been pining for each other and you can feel the tension starting in the first book. Their storyline takes you through their entire friendship from start to HEA. You see their feelings develop and mature over the ages, both too afraid to speak their feelings and risk their friendship unaware the other is right there along with them. All this build up made for such an amazing slow burn. I loved how their first kiss came about, so sweet and innocent yet lifechanging.

I have enjoyed this series but especially this book so much, beautiful characters, amazing storylines, and great writing.

“The rift between us made me pause and question our friendship. I’d always been comfortable in his persona; space but now it was more like a need than a want. We were shifting, and I hoped that whatever was going on, it would bring us closer, not push us apart.”

I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Dare I say, it's......adorable ? ......bahahahahahaha

This one was a tough read ....you follow both Ro and Faisel from when they first met to current time .... and all, and I mean all, of the downs and ups...and that's no typo !! The behind the scenes portrayal of the rockstar life is an eye-opener....you kinda assume what'd be like...but this, you are right amongst it all - it's raw, gritty and unapologetic. And it's not a sweet and romantic story - we know they are in love with each other. This book is how they finally admit it ...to themselves and each other. Yes, you'll cry and gasp and laugh (I mean, they still act like teenagers) .... but at the core, it's got plenty of heart & love - with each other and their family/found family. Great series.

This book takes us through Faisel and Ronin's entire friendship, building us up to the moment where pining and cluelessness fall away and something clicks to take them from friends to lovers... but since it wasn't an easy road to get to lovers, being lovers won't be entirely easy either...

I love that these two finally get together and we also see the rest of the band settling into life after their tour. It was a beautiful finale to the series and a fitting end for the Wayward Lane band.

Audiobook - a sensitive narrator who is good at emotions and splitting up and maintaining different voices. The story had a good plot and was a nice ending to this series. It did rather irritate me that most of the characters kept having different opinions about the potential relationship between the MCs, including the MCs themselves. If they are pushing you to get together, then pushing you to stay apart on a constant see-saw, that will never solve the mutual pining. Still an enjoyable listen.

I remember reading the first two books, Brodie's story and Holloway's story, and being super intrigued by Faisel and Ronin. Friends to lovers when done right is wonderful, and this is one of those. There was some angst, one sided pining until Ro figured himself out, and a whole lotta sweetness between these two. And I loved revisiting the previous characters. The four bandmates' bond was very much alive and well, and they each deserve their HEAs.

4.5 stars. I was so excited to have this book land on my kindle. I absolutely love friends to lovers and we’ve been watching Faisal and Ronin since book 1. Ava did not disappoint with this one either.

I loved that she started the story when they were kids so we could see their initial connection and feel the ride to the present along with them. Boy was it a bumpy ride for them both because of their fear of communicating what they are feeling. There is so much pining.

I think what I love so much about this series is that although this is Faise and Ro story, we get so much of Wayward Lane guys( their family) throughout all the books which makes it special.

Once again, Wayward Lane has blown me away with an incredible love story, this time Ronin and Faisel's. This book chronicled their journey from the first day of their childhood friendship through awkward teenage years, early rockstar debauchery, and eventually their romantic relationship. Ava Olsen dug deep with each of these characters, and I was stunned by how quickly I felt like I knew them inside and out. By walking me through their formative years, I didn't have the awkward information dumping or rushed catching up that sometimes makes it hard for me to relate to the main characters, and that made a world of difference when the narrative caught up to the present day.

Ronin and Fasiel had the type of friendship that runs bone-deep, an unshakeable foundation that only comes from standing by each other through years of life's ups and downs. The only complication that terrified each of them was bringing love and romance into their relationship and potentially risking it all. Throughout their twenties, that unwillingness to mess with the status quo sent both men into their most reckless and hedonistic pursuits, two rockstars in their prime partying it up and avoiding their growing feelings for each other. It was hard for me to watch Fasiel snort his way into oblivion, to see Ronin take man after man to his bed, but at that time the two of them weren't ready for each other. In true rockstar fashion, their journeys hit some staggering highs only to crash all the way to rock bottom thanks to the unfairness of life. At each low point, Fasiel and Ronin were there for each other, pulling each other up and comforting each other in whatever way the other needed. The two of them convinced me of their love long before they took the first steps down that path, and my god did they take their sweet time getting ready to take that leap of faith. Ronin and Faisel put the slow in slow burn, but every bit of built up frustration was worth it when they finally opened their eyes and reached for each other. Once that switch flipped, there was no going back, and I felt like I was on top of the world watching Ronin and Faisel tackle life together and knowing that their love could get them through whatever challenges it brought. Wayward Lane definitely had its rocky patches after Faisel and Ronin got together, and I stayed present and engaged for all of them. The bonds between all four band members and their loved ones were incredible to experience, and some of the side character storylines had equal depth and impact to the mains. I have so much admiration for the entire band's strength of character, and knowing how much all of them have been through has made their happily-ever-afters even more satisfying. I'm officially a die-hard Wayward Lane lover, and I'm already itching to go back to the beginning and enjoy these stories all over again.

I'm giving this one a strong 4.5 stars. This book is the third book in the Wayward Lane series and can be read as a standalone, but several references to the previous books and the background to the other band members' romances will make this book a lot more enjoyable if you read the other two first (they're both fantastic, you'll be doing yourself a favor).

Faise and Ro's story covers over two decades of their lives and the first part of the book is a series of flashback chapters to how they met and grew up together. I loved those chapters because it really helped me understand why these two behaved the way they did and we got to see how the band met and started in the first place, which was super cute.

Faise and Ro are totally in love with each other, but as is typical of the best-friends-to-lovers trope, they don't realize it at first and when they do, they are terrified to risk their friendship. Once they do admit their feelings and come together, it is beautiful and steamy. Ava Olsen is known for writing characters who love each other hard and wholeheartedly. Faise and Ro are no different.

The only downside for me to this book is that I don't particularly enjoy reading scenes where there is sex between an MC and non-MC (no cheating, the MCs weren't together at the time). Those were difficult for me to read and the other MC often saw it happen (they're exobitionsit rockstars, after all). My heart hurt for these guys having to watch the person they wanted with someone else. There are also a couple mentions of the MCs from previous books engaged in sex acts with randos (again, these are flashback chapters, so they weren't in their relationships yet. NO CHEATING IN THIS STORY). I didn't love those scenes, but I was able to kind of speed through them and get past it. Once Faise and Ro hooked up, they were all in and it was glorious.

There was also an engaging subplot (TW for mentions of domestic abuse) that provided the story with a bit of action.

The epilogue to the story did a beautiful job of wrapping up the entire series with updates on all the guys and their relationships. Overall, the entire series is fantastic. One of the best rock star romance series I have ever read and definitely had the most heart and love.

I love that the final book takes us back to the beginning, to ten year old Ronin and Faisel’s life changing meeting and the start of Wayward Lane. I really enjoyed the look back on how it all started for the band. I have a soft spot for childhood best friends to lovers romance and this one is quite interesting and filled with emotion. Ronin and Faisel have so much love for each other but little idea how to communicate. There have been glimpses of Faisel and Ronin through the series, their connection very clear. It’s understandable there is fear and trepidation around being more than friends, that could blow up their friendship and the band. But, it is still a little hard to see why they are oblivious for so long. Faisel and Ronin’s story spans a long time, and I loved getting peaks at the characters at different points in Wayward Lane’s journey. There’s a lot of self destructive rock star behavior. Faisel’s addiction was well handled, the author really captures how scary addiction is. It was hard to read, but beautifully written. Both Ronin and Faisel are of course with other people through the years. It’s understandable, but honestly wasn’t my favorite. While they aren’t together, they are clearly in so love, so it was a bit sad to read. The pining does goes for decades, but once Ronin and Faisel committed to being together, man it was amazing! This author writes really good steam. And, Faisel and Ronin have such a deep love for each other, the intimacy between them is really lovely. I’ve loved the complicated characters in this series, I’m so happy Wayward Lane got the happy ending they deserve.

“You know no matter what, we’re always gonna be best friends. Always. Nothing changes that.”

The Wayward Lane series by Ava Olsen ends with Faise and Ronin's story, and boy, is it a story you don't want to miss.

I listened to the audio, and Zachary Zaba did an amazing job portraying these characters. If you're searching for your next listen, then I highly recommend you check out this fantastic audiobook.

Faisel and Ronin meet as young boys and become best friends immediately.

As this is the last book in the Wayward Lane series, 4-ever takes us through Faise and Ro meeting as children, becoming instant best friends, to them sharing all that life throws at them through the years, from family dramas to health issues, all of it side by side.

We see the music lovers meet Brodie and Holls at school, forming the band, soaring to stardom, and all the ups and downs that come with fame, including Faise's addiction.

And be prepared for all the pining as Faisel falls in love with his best friend.

There are years of pining for poor Faise, and whilst we see Ronin's jealousy when Faise tries to move on, it's years before he realises his own feelings for his best friend.

It hurt to see these two drift slightly from each other, as Faise tried to put distance between them, and I've never been as glad as I was to see them reveal their true feelings 🙌😍

Faise and Ro are electric together. The chemistry is off the scale! And I loved how they were all-in once they'd admitted their feelings. It was the perfect conclusion for the series.

'It wasn’t an exaggeration to say that kissing Faise was the best thing that had happened to me in my adult life. And I’d experienced a lot of highs over the past twenty years.'

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to Faisel and Ronin's story, and once I started listening, I found I didn't want to pause for anything!

Emerse yourself in the Wayward Lane world with this fantastic audio. You won't regret it!

"The only thing I know, the only thing I've ever been certain of, is that I love you. Friends first, and always, and now—” his voice cracked, hoarse with emotion. “Now as the man that I can't live without. Do you understand? I love you. I’m in love with you. Not just as you were, but as you are. You’re everything to me. My one and only.”

“I’ve been in love with you for so long,” I confessed. “I love you so, so much.”

“When I looked in Faise’s amber eyes, it was like being home. No matter what happened in life, he was that to me. Always had been. Always would be.”

(ENG) Great end to the series, where romance is the axis of a plot that goes beyond the central relationship to talk about addictions, abuse and personal overcoming.
As the story begins with the boys at 10 years old, we are part of their growth, how the band is formed and decides on their name, their beginnings and the arrival of fame with all that implies.
Faise and Ronin are very beautiful together and the way their relationship develops is so natural that it touches our hearts.
I really enjoyed reading how all the members of the band get their "happily ever after". All of them are very lovable characters and will remain in my memory.

4-Ever
Wayward Lane, Book 3
By: Ava Olsen
Narrated by: Zachary Zaba

It is great to be back in Ava Olsen’s “Wayward Lane” world again for another amazing MM rockstar romance, a friends-to-lovers romance that rocks your world. This book is Faisel & Ronin’s story, and the two go way back, so not only do we get their story, but we go back to the start of the band, which I absolutely loved. Faisel and Ronin’s journey to one another was not always an easy one, but I loved being along for the ride. The story is captivating from start to end and the writing, plot and world building are fantastic, as are the character growth and development. There is never a dull moment in the book, and the story is entertaining, with a perfect balance of drama, angst, heartfelt emotions, and steamy romance. This entire series is amazing, and this book brings us full circle, and I hope it is not the last we see of these characters. Ava Olsen, thank you for this fabulous story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧Zachary Zaba did a fabulous job bringing these characters to life and did so with a complete understanding of who he was portraying, giving each their own distinct voice, making it easy to follow along and tell who is who. He set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling each one. Zaba is an entertaining storyteller and his performance elevated this already amazing story to another level. Thank you for another fantastic listen.

Absolutely phenomenal!

This book rocks! It’s finally time for Ronin and Faise’s story and it’s one heck of a wild ride! The two meet at the age of 10 and have been the best of friends ever since. Through thick and thin together, things start to go a little off track as feelings get stronger. Both have feelings for the other that are stronger than friendship but the fear of risking that friendship will keep them both quiet. Faise will struggle with addiction as will his brother but Ronin is there through it all. When Ronin’s sister is in danger, Faise is there to protect and care for her and I love how much she means to him. When the two finally face the truth and admit their feelings, the chemistry is electric and off the charts! There will be bumps in the road, especially when Ronin learns a truth about Faise’s addiction but in the end, their incredible friendship becomes a strong foundation for an amazing love that will rock both their worlds! As always, we get to enjoy time with the rest of the guys in Wayward Lane and the shenanigans that ensue and their are wonderful things happening in all their lives!

I read an ARC copy of this book and am volunteering my honest review.

I have been eagerly awaiting Faise & Ronin’s story. Childhood friends to lovers is always a fave trope. The first part of this book takes us way way back to when Faise & Ronin first met. It walks us through the beginning of their story, as well as the beginning of Wayward Lane.

We got a full glimpse into the lives of these two best friends. How, their bond was forged over one single moment and how each moment in their lives has been intertwined ever since.

There have been very few experiences in which they’ve had to struggle and muddle through on their own, but those instances were entirely self inflicted and begin to tell the story of how their friendship started to evolve. It didn’t ever truly change, but what they shared did.

This is the story of how they learn to navigate with the way their feelings have changed, but their relationship has not.

It was sad to watch them try to navigate these changes alone because the one person they told everything to, was the one person they absolutely couldn’t share this with.

There are pivotal moments in which both Faise & Ronin have to let go of what their friendship used to be and determine whether something more is worth the risk.

This review is for the audiobook.

This audiobook was a lot of fun, and true to the lifestyle of rock'n rollers, including plenty of sex, drugs, and music. Be forewarned, it doesn't shy away from the excesses. There is casual sex, drinking, and drugs, including a near-fatal overdose. There is also some violence, including physical attacks and some domestic abuse. What I really loved about the story was the way it followed the MCs Faisel and Ronin from their meeting as kids, to meeting the other guys and forming the band, through the lean times, and ups and downs, to their meteoric success and falling in love.. I loved how democratic the band was. Everyone had their say and they were always friends and supported each other. The love between Fais and Ronin, and all the pining, really hooked me in, hoping and waiting for the payoff. There was a sort of a-ha moment and then Ronin seemed to get real needy, which seemed a little out of character to me, but that's a minor quibble in a good story with great characters.

The narration was great and really showcased the individual personalities and emotions.

I received a free copy of the audiobook and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.

- Best friends to lovers
- Found family
- Series finale
- Hurt/comfort

What a fitting finale to the Wayward Lane series. I've really enjoyed the entire series, and really wanted Faise and Ronin's story. I love that this takes you through Faise and Ronin's entire life from their first meeting at school, through starting the band and to where they are now. It's not an easy road for either of them, each having their own very different battles through the years. There's much mutual pining but once they both realise, they're both all in right away and I loved that.

There's zero angst about starting something together and it was great to see. Not to say that it's all plain sailing but well worth the couple of bumps in the road to get to their HEA.

It wasn’t an exaggeration to say that kissing Faise was the best thing that had happened to me in my adult life. And I’d experienced a lot of highs over the past twenty years.

I also loved seeing the other Wayward Lane boys some time into their relationships, it's a fitting end to what's been a great series.

I received an ARC and this is my honest review.

I hate waiting for certain books but it’s always worth it. I’ve been dying for this book since I read book one, Punk-In. I loved reading about these two from day one. To watch them grow into the men they are now was great. My heart hurt for both of them, for different reasons but luckily they finally got their shit together lol 🖤🔥🥁🔥🖤

My favorite quotes:

• Ronin: Why had it taken me so long to realize what all the touches, hugs, and cuddles, meant? It was like I’d been wearing foggy glasses for years. When they finally cleared, all I could see was this beautiful man standing right in front of me.

• Ronin: “Good. Because I want you to wake up tomorrow and know that you’re mine, I’m yours, and nothing and no one comes between us. Not ever.”

• Ronin: All four of us grabbed onto each other, holding tight. We’d been through a lot together, and there would always be bumps in the road.

But one thing we never questioned was our loyalty. To our music, to our fans, and most important of all, to each other.

• Faisel: Ronin and I shared a laugh. Despite all the growing we’d done, deep down, we were still the same bratty teenagers who liked to play loud music and joke around.

MM Band romance

I have loved this series, both in book form and audio. Even though this is a series, each book could be read as a stand-alone.

We meet Faisel and Ronin, both band members of Wayward Lane and lifelong best friends. The book is brilliantly written and handles family and band issues well.

I won't spoil it, but we follow the journey of two lifelong best friends who navigate through a turbulent time. However, the story culminates in a satisfying happily ever after, leaving us all with a sense of fulfilment.

Zachary Zaba brings these two main characters to life. The narration is great, although I speeded up this audio to 1.20 on Audible, which is usual for me as it helps me maintain my focus and enjoy the story at a faster pace.

4-Ever by Ava Olsen
5/5 ✨🌟
Narrated by Zachary Zaba

* * * SPOILERS * *

Zachary knocked this audiobook out of the park. I’ve never listened to any of his stuff before but he narrated Ronin and Faise so amazing.

I love love love how Ronin always called him boo. Friends don’t do that when they’re so in love with each other.

I love how they all meet in high school. I knew instantly that they were going to be a rock band when they all realized they all loved music. I love how Faize and Ro were there for each other when they were growing up, especially the hard times.

This story goes through so many emotions and I was here for it. They both go through so much before they end up together.

And oh, the proposal was perfect but the way that he did was utterly perfection. It was perfect how he wrote that song and then popped the question. I now need to read the other books 💜

And holy hell, the spicy scenes were so good and so dirty. It was so hot and I only ached for more. I loved it when the bandmates would hear them.

I received a copy of this audiobook from Gay Romance Reviews, and this is my honest review.

I am glad we get the story of Ronin and Faisal. It's told first in the past, how they meet, the budding friendship, how Wayward Lane comes together and moves via their success to today's date.

Some parts aren't easy, we see Faisal's addiction in full view.

It takes a while for both to fully realise that they have feelings and in a typical friends-to-lovers way, they try everything not to act on it.

I love how you can see the support, the love (even before it was romantic) they have to each other and Brodie and Holloway. There is drama and angst but it works well into the story line.

The catalyst to their romance is well done, while the danger is not the most intense part, you can see how they finally realise what is going on between them and that they want for the future.

Saying all this, I would loved to have seen a different path for them, it feels a bit too stereotype. Unfortunately the author's recent book Co-Star is also just too similar to this story in too many points for 4-Ever to feel special on it's own.

4-Ever by Ava Olsen is book 4 in the Wayward Lane series. I loved this story so much! Because these two are best friends, and have been since elementary school, we get to see the beginnings of the band and then their perspective for what happened in the other books. Brodie and Holloway's joining of the group is so perfect and exactly them. And how the band got it's name is a lot of fun.

Faise and Ronin met as children and even though they came from very different backgrounds they hit it off right away and became best friends. There are lots of expectations put on both of them and watching them grow into themselves was very interesting, realistic, and a great way to see how they became the men they are today. The men we got to know a little bit in each book.

I am such a sucker for the friends to lovers trope and especially when they start as childhood friends. That bond they have is so special and to see it blossom into more is precious. I highly recommend this series and this book!

An enjoyable friends-to-lovers read (an audio review)

Life isn’t easy when 1. You’re a rock and roll star and 2. You’re in love with your best friend. Faisel and Ronin are in this predicament. With each other, no less.

Ronin rescued Faise from a schoolyard bully when they were just kids – but that cemented a friendship that lasted through many trials and tribulations. I enjoyed the structure of this story – it starts from that initial meeting and then drops in at various key, and important, moments in their lives. Watching the strength of the friendship made the evolution into romantic feelings more believable.

Man, the angst in this book. There’s a lot going on – both for the two MCs as well as some of the secondary characters. Good storytelling wove those pieces together into what I found was an enjoyable book. Now, this was book 3 and I somehow missed book 2, but I wasn’t lost at all. I just was treated to a really good story.

Zachary Zaba is a favorite of mine and I thought he did a great job with this friends-to-lovers love story. Definitely recommend.

Oh man, tortured best friend Rockstars is a big fave of mine!

This story will take you through a lifetime of friendship, ups and downs, hurt and love. All of it mixed with self-doubt, the struggle of fame, but also a beautiful found family that always has each other's back.

“Just like the air I breathed every single day, he was necessary to me.”

The story was a rollercoaster of emotions as we traversed their relationship and the struggle of their pinning and fears. I wanted to wrap them both up and cuddle them. But in the end, it made them stronger, and left no doubts they were meant for each other.

It also gave us a great history of the band, and we got plenty of the rest of them to make you smile.
