“I get it. You’re a feral junkyard dog who doesn’t need human contact. Consider me suitably intimidated, Cujo,” he says, throwing his hands up but not looking intimidated in the least.
“I’ll fill all your brooding silences for as long as you’ll let me.”
«The ground could crack open underneath us right now, and I wouldn’t notice as long as Tristan was still in my arms.»
“So sad that we’ll never have to interact again. Please feel free to lose my number,” I sign with an obviously fake smile.
“There’s no need to pretend, Cujo. I can see the heartbreak in your eyes. Don’t worry though, I’m not going anywhere. I’m like a penguin. I bond for life. I’ll be back.”
With another unfairly handsome smile, he pulls his sunglasses back down, turns and leaves me feeling like a tornado passed through.
Tornado Tristan.

"As much as we are a shitshow and have a bunch of the same flaws, we also complement each other in the weirdest possible way."
"He has husky eyes. Light blue and totally fucking crazed. I love it. Something about that raw, feral intensity sparks my own crazy in response."
"Having someone genuinely give a shit about whether I live for die is like a wet rag over my mouth, and I'm on the cusp of suffocating."
