First off, LOOK AT THAT GORGEOUS COVER ???? I LOVE THE COLOR PALETTE!!!! Anyway, This was so cute and hilarious and very short. Nothing serious even though some dramatic scenes happened. Some things didn't do it for me though hence the 3.5 stars.

At first I thought the writing was okayish, nothing special but it was okay for a rom-com, later on, I began to notice that it was too repetitive, it felt a little childish, I don't know but something wasn't right about the writing. It felt a little Wattpad-ish

Hazel is a hopeless romantic at heart, a serial dater, and a heavy drinker. Deciding she would leave all that by the new year after her best friend's wedding where she meets the best man, Peter who is cold, expressionless, hates talking, and seems to hate her and her endless talking. Her New Year resolutions included: no drinking, career shifting, settling, and absolutely no dating. To be honest, I did like her a bit but at most times she was just so annoying. YOU SHOULDN'T ASK SOMEONE YOU JUST KNEW ABOUT THEIR HEART CONDITION!!!! She was always crying, whining or just being so dumb and clueless about Peter liking her and how she definitely doesn't like him. She wasn't a good listener, and she asks the most intrusive questions like BITCH YOU SHOULDN'T ASK THAT??? I know that the author wanted her being so flustered and talkative to come off as her being so nervous by his presence (marinette vibes) but no, It didn't do it for me. To be fair she was quite funny and outgoing sometimes, but most times I just didn't like her.

The plot is probably my favorite thing about this book:) 2 people who "hate" each other, trapped in his house because of a snow blizzard ON VALENTINE'S DAY??? I love how they transformed from "Leave me alone, I hate you" to "Don't leave me alone, cuz I am scared but I still "hate" you" to "I love you and can't live without you". Their tension and angst were really funny tbh even if it was a little childish. I literally laughed my ass off the whole book

Last thoughts: overall this was pretty good and cute considering its length:) Would recommend it if u want something short and sweet 🎀🪞🩰🦢🕯️

Quick, light and easy read. I read it quickly and it put a smile on my face because who doesn't need a good relaxation read once in a while.
Hazel really doesn't like Peter, she met him at her best friend's wedding, and he's been a bad memory ever since. Swearing off men for now she knows she'll be new and improved focusing on her career and personal issues. A little snow is so pretty to look at but what happens when a blizzard swoops down and you lose power? Well, that means, no heat, no cooking and gasp, no internet. Going next door to get a little help sounds reasonable but when it turns out Peter has moved next door this enemies to lover's story takes an interesting turn. With forced proximity for several days Hazel and Peter are actually able to talk things over. While they don't agree on everything, things are looking a whole lot better relationship wise by the time this is over than when it started. While they both have their own little quirks, tempers flare and passions rise. Valentine's Day may just be something for these two to look forward to this year.
This is a sweet romance without explicit scenes, but it does contain some profanity and adult themes.

“I like being single. Only worrying about myself." Honestly, saaaaame.

Anyway, this is a fast paced story (consumed it all in one day). Tropes included:
+ Grumpy x sunshine
+ Forced proximity
+ Enemies to lovers
+ Hopeless romantic

I quite don't like the way their relationship developed. I honestly don't even get how they got developed. The guy didn't show any signs of liking her aside from letting her into his house when she needed a place to stay. I didn't feel any chemistry between the two characters at all. I also don't like how Peter sort of forced himself to her. I don't like him at all. The FMC though, I love her character very much.

There is not much plot either which is why this is a very light read. There were some funny bits too. I just wished we get to explore more of Peter's side because his character lacks personality. I just want to understand how he started liking her when all he did was sigh around her 😅

The forced proximity showed Hazel's wrong judgments about Peter, but also revealed his life and joy. Overall, this was a cute and quick read, with an easy flow and entertaining structure. The characters' personalities and interactions were well-developed, making the story enjoyable and relatable!

With its humorous dialogue, endearing characters, and gripping details, "Snowed In on Valentine's Day" demonstrates the eternal power of love to warm even the coldest of hearts!

I give this book five stars since it really warmed my heart and I enjoyed every page of this romantic novel. The author's compelling narrative and well-rounded characters made the emotional trip genuinely remarkable. The main characters' chemistry was unquestionable, and I found myself dragging for their love story until the final chapter!

This story was a bit different than my normal fantasy reads and I truly enjoyed it. I will say that Peter absolutely drove me insane in the beginning lol… but by the end I felt completely different. This was a quick and fun read and I would definitely love to read more stories from this author.

this was a cute and lighthearted little rom-com and i enjoyed it! i must admit i was very intrigued by the title that i had to request it. the beginning was a bit slow but once i got into the book, i read the majority in one sitting. if you like grumpy / sunshine, banter and forced proximity, then i highly recommend as this is a quick and easy read!

Hazel is a hopeless romantic, lover of all things to do with love. She’s admittedly a serial dater, and has now resolved to take a break from dating. Meeting Peter, the best man in her best friend’s wedding, solidifies her resolution. He might be strikingly handsome, but he is downright grumpy and rude. Despite her best efforts to crack open his hard exterior, he remains impassable and Hazel is left feeling defeated.

Hazel soon discovers that she has a new neighbor. To her horror, it’s none other than Peter. After her second unsuccessful attempt to befriend him, she makes every effort to avoid him. But Mother Nature has other plans. When a brutal snow storm passes through and Hazel is left without power, she has no choice but to stay with Peter, who turns out to be well equipped to handle a snowstorm. Hazel quickly discovers that there may be more to this man than his first impressions led her to believe. She is now conflicted between the grumpy man she met at the wedding, and the one making her believe in love all over again.

Peter was the ultimate grump when it comes to grumpy millionaire tropes. But I actually liked him from the beginning. While he definitely lacked some pleasant social skills, he seemed to be more of a quiet observer, which is often mistaken as being rude. I’m a quiet observer myself, so I could easily relate.

Hazel was the complete opposite of Peter. She was bubbly and outgoing. But admittedly, her lack of a filter annoyed me. While the lack of a filter in a character can be amusing, she kind of took it to the next level. And the fact that she often realized she was asking intrusive questions and saying inappropriate things made it more irritating. But I feel that things balanced out as Hazel and Peter got to know each other, and they actually complimented each other well.

I also enjoyed the forced proximity, and the fact that time and time again it showed how wrong Hazel was about Peter. I could see how she would form those judgements about him based on their previous interactions and his grumpy demeanor, but I was also surprised myself with some of the revelations he made about his life and the things that brought him joy.

Overall, this was a cute and quick read. I read it in one day, due to both the easy flow and the entertaining plot.

This book was very cute! It kept me entertained and I didn't want to put it down until I was done!

I struggled with this one. I found the main character infuriatingly irritating and unlikeable. She was very judgmental and despite calling the male lead rude several times, I found her much ruder to him.

In the acknowledgements the author talks about how fast she had to write this book and it definitely does show. There were many continuity errors, small oversights and grammatical errors. It didn’t ruin the flow of the story but they did stand out enough to annoy me.

I applied to be an ARC reader for this book when I saw the cover and read the blurb. I was honestly craving a holiday romance novel.

What do you usually expect from a holiday romance? In most cases, these story lines are very predictive, hence our comfort zones. However, Alana managed to stay in the comfort zone lane without it being predictive.

Take a serial dater who is a hopeless romantic, throw a rude best man into the story line, and then add in some forced proximity, broodiness, snow, and the most romantic holiday to the mix. The initial hate and tolerance turns into some 'I can't stay away from you' and 'Please don't leave' and it gives us the perfect read for Valentine's Month.

I would highly recommend picking up this book for Valentine's Month along with a beverage and enjoying the month of love.

Snowed In on Valentine's Day is the perfect blend of romance, humor, and self-discovery. The author has created a wonderful tale of love blossoming amidst a wintry storm, with characters who leap off the page. Hazel's journey from serial dater to self-awareness is both relatable and inspiring, and the chemistry between her and Peter is electric. What starts as animosity slowly transforms into something deeper, and as they navigate their feelings amidst the snowed-in chaos, readers are treated to a satisfying story of finding love when least expected.

The way the characters are written is brilliant as at first you end up hating Peter and finding him rude. As the story progresses Peter is still hard to like but you eventually warm to him as you see his vulnerability and why he is like he is. Hazel was such a loud, opinionated woman you weren’t sure how they fit together or if they will get together. The story depicts between love and conflict and how unexpected people bring out qualities you didn’t know you had.

It was a nice little read and if anyone fancies a little cosy read I would recommend.

footnotes: this book does contain mildly graphic descriptions of kissing, which were kind of long, so be aware of where you read this.

thoughts: i liked this book a lot! the characters were lovable and easy to relate to, and they felt nuanced and layered. the plot was mostly fun, but it did get predictable at times. i loved the enemies-to-lovers storyline, and it felt like the plot was very thought-out. the setting is in a snowstorm, and there are multiple ways that ties into the plot. the story was also mainly focused on the main characters, and didn't have any side characters taking up space. the romance had me swooning, and the kisses though graphic, made sense emotionally.

overall, perfect for someone who wants a quick, cute romance only centered around the main characters.

This was a cute story. A little grumpy/sunshine. Hazel (“Usually happy. Laid back. Taking life a day at a time.”), maid of honor for her best friend’s wedding, didn’t quite hit it off with the stoic, and even grumpy, best man, Peter. When Peter ended up being her new next door neighbour and they found themselves forced to stay together to make it through a huge winter storm, feelings inevitably changed and grew. Though there wad a lot of focus on the forced proximity during the storm, there was actually a lot of time-lapsed relationship growth after that through time spent together. This really reinforced the building affection. Overall I liked the story and the characters. It’s a cute read. This book does have carryover from the first book in the series, but it reads well as a standalone. This is a closed door romance with some innuendo and mild harsh language.

When a Minnesota blizzard forces Hazel (lil’ Miss Sunshine) to seek help from her neighbor Peter (Mr. Grumpy Grinch), it might be hard to believe an HEA is possible. But with the help of a cat, health issues, a love of baking, and some forced proximity it might just happen.

I was beyond excited that Hazel got her own story!!! This just solidified that I want her as a friend. I love seeing the characters from other books in this series make an appearance.
This was a quick read that had me smiling throughout.

Valentine's day just came a few days ago so I wanted to read a light-hearted book, and I found this book while I was browsing in NetGalley! This book is like a Hallmark story that you're reading instead of watching. It was cute, fun, and sweet.

This book had grumpy-sunshine, enemies to lovers, and forced proximity tropes, but I felt that the enemies to lovers trope didn't really deliver. As this is the second book in the series, I might have missed the history between Hazel and Peter. There was some animosity between them, but it's mostly one-sided and it comes from Hazel. She drives me insane with all of her assumptions about Peter, and he's the rude one? I also felt that the switch between 'I hate you' to 'I love you' was really quick.

However, I still think this is a cute read for those of you who like fun and light-hearted rom-com books and Hallmark movies!

Hazel and Peter meet at their friends’ wedding and don’t really hit it off. When Peter soon moves next door to Hazel and the two get snowed in for days, tensions run high but is it really hate they feel for each other or maybe something quite the opposite?
I have conflicting feelings about this book. I loved the previous book in the series, which featured Hazel’s friends Mariana and Terry as the main couple. The start of this one was good too, promised an interesting and entertaining plot – I absolutely love forced proximity romance and the opposites-attract trope - and the writing was enjoyable, but then… Hazel and her utterly unreasonable and rude behavior made me so mad I almost wanted to DNF. I wrote down a long list of things that she said or did or thought that I felt were so wrong but then reminded myself that liking or disliking someone is a personal matter and what annoyed me, might be considered fun and quirky and charming by others. Still, for me, Peter with his mysterious ways and dramatic backstory was a lot more interesting and really saved the day.
All in all, after thinking about it a couple of days, I rule that I would definitely recommend the book, but be aware that the story is fully told from the POV of Hazel with all her hazel-ness. I don’t regret finishing it and it certainly didn’t leave me indifferent or bored, on the contrary, it made me think a lot about the wrong assumptions people make about others, based on their own personalities (can a people-pleasing extrovert really ever understand an introverted hermity type?), learned behaviours or beliefs. What I also liked about the book it is that it highlighted the issues of career expectations and major career changes and psychological issues that accompany those, the physical effects of overworking even at a young age and the value of community. I mean, we all need a good neighbor like Peter who would take us into their warm home during a blizzard and cook us the best breakfast with home-made bread ever!.

Hazel and Peter meet at a wedding. Naturally, they are paired together as Hazel is the best friend of the bride and Peter is the best friend of the groom. They don't exactly hit it off. Peter is good-looking, but he is grumpy and rude. Hazel attempts to talk to him with no luck cracking his hard exterior. To Hazel's surprise, Peter ends up moving to her town and is her new neighbor. She makes an attempt to be neighborly and welcome him to the neighborhood, but Peter still has a resting grump face, so she vows to just avoid him. As fate would have it, there is a snowstorm that leaves Hazel with no power and she is forced to stay with Peter at his home. As they spend more time together, and despite their initial drawbacks, they develop an unexpected bond.

Snowed in on Valentine's Day is a lighthearted and heartwarming story. This was a fun read and the perfect story about love or a holiday that celebrates the same. I was frustrated with the characters in the beginning but they both eventually came around and realized there is always more than what meets the eye. This is more of a closed-door romance that also touches on some deeper human and societal issues. Overall, this is a quick, enjoyable, cute, and cozy read.

I kept seeing this book come up on Instagram and I was like why not start reading it, I am glad I did!! I finished it a couple of hours ago!

A girl named Hazel, her best friend Maria and her fiance Terry got married. Terry's best friend is Peter. Hazel and Peter didn't start on the right foot at the wedding. Maria and Terry went on their honeymoon I Italy! I would love to go to Italy and go sightseeing!

While they were in Italy, Hazel found out she has got a new neighbor. Hazel being Hazel she baked a whole bunch of sweets all afternoon, she loved to bake. She was being a nice, welcoming and thoughtful person to her new neighbor. When the door opened she was so shocked who she saw. It was Peter (she likes to call him Pete).

At first she didn't like having hi, as her neighbor. Then a huge snow storm hit. She lost power, but Peter still had power. She eventually went over there for a few days to keep warm.

I won't spoil the ending for anyone that wants to read it! It was definitely a great read for Valentine's Day!!

Summary/Review:
Hazel is simply enjoying her maid of honor duties at her best friend's wedding, when the best man, Peter, decides to be obnoxiously rude! Hazel is so happy she will never have to deal with Peter’s stuck up arrogance again…that is until both of their plans change, forcing Hazel and Peter together more often then they’d like. I really enjoyed the love/hate relationship between the main characters, the back and forth banter kept me engaged in the reading. It is a fast paced, quick, feel good read!
