One of our favorites is The Crawly Caterpillar. It’s an extremely durable board book with touch and feel areas that show a caterpillar becoming a beautiful butterfly.

The Tiny Tadpole is from the same series, by the same author. This story follows a tadpole as he grows legs, loses his tail, and becomes a frog. On the last page is a huge surprise.

I haven’t memorized the text yet but I’m sure I will soon as this is fast becoming another favorite.

This is a cute little book about a tadpole wanting to have legs to jump like a frog and how he grows into just that. We got this as my son's free book from his healthcare provider for his wellness check. As he just barely turned one, he's still more interested in trying to chew on the pages than actually reading. My four-year-old, however, was thrilled with the addition to our library and has already asked to read it multiple times. A good, simple little lesson book for small children.

I wish there was a lesson in patience in this book. There's no concept of time so it's just eat a lot & become a frog. The texture part of this book was excellent though.
