Blood Vengeance (Matt Drake Book 7) - a review by Rosemary Kenny

Another rip-roaring, all-action adventure with the SPEAR Team, a covert US organisation answerable to the POTUS via the Secretary of State/their immediate boss, Jonathan Gates, having to go all-out to survive and save the lives of innocents - especially their nearest and dearest - following the daring escape from prison of their former Nemesis, The Blood King, Kovalenko the Russian megalomaniac.
The eponymous Blood Vengeance is the Blood King's ultimate revenge against arch-enemies Matt Drake, Mai Kitano, Haden Jaye, Mano Kinimata, Thorsten Dahl, Alicia Myles, their families and even those more tenuously connected to them at their HQ.
Meanwhile Mai must return to the land and the Clan that forged her into the deadly Ninja warrior she is now, to face up to a past that she thought was firmly behind her. What outcome faces her?

How did Blood King and his allies escape from the Death Valley facility?
Can the team survive the devastation - both emotional and physical?
Who returns from Japan with Mai? What happens to Jonathan Gates?
Who's the first victim of Blood King and his evil partners in crime?

The action is non-stop and is enough to keep you on the edge of your seat throughout. A series that will change your book reading habits for life. Get them all and enjoy Blood Vengeance et al by the inimitable David Leadbeater as soon as you possibly can. Satisfaction guaranteed!

Blood Vengeance is the 9th book in the Matt Bannister series. Ken Pratt has written an inspirational thriller that tackles the subject of vengeance. Chusi survived an 1863 Massacre. He finds out who was responsible for his families murder. Can Matt help Chusi forgive? Mr Bannister has written strong characters that have realistic problems that are hard to solve. If you enjoy inspirational clean westerns, I can recommend this book and series

Started to read this, but the series isn’t going the way in the style I like to read. It’s a great series, well written, but not for me. I started it for the archeological aspect and it’s flowing away from that and more into action/terrorism stuff. So, I’m going to say goodbye to Drake and his team and move on.

Well I did not expect that

No spoilers here but blimey this had some shockers in it. Highly entertaining and hard to put down. The team dynamics changed a little and some good characters left the party. Thoroughly recommended x

Worst so far.

The worst in seris so far. Repetitive. It feels like he had no new ideas for this one. Rehashed bad guy. Rehashed battle scenes.

keeps you up reading

I am enjoying the different ways you split the team up. It could use some work and finese but I'm not a published writer it's just hard to follow at times. I love the action, real people personalities, descriptions of places worldwide ect.

A SIMPLE MAN'S REVIEW:

This book was nonstop action! The Blood King is back and has a plan to continue his blood vengeance. There is chaos and fighting everywhere and
SPEAR is right in the middle of it. Obviously I won't tell you who lives and dies, but some of the main characters don't make it to the next book. But even with the losses, I enjoyed this book like the first few "Matt Drake" stories. Fun, quick, and bloody.

This book was non-stop from start to finish.

Matt Drake and friends did it again-saved the world. When you read these books, you feel you are right in the book with the characters. Mr Leadbeater has a way of keeping his readers interested, no, intrigued, until the very end. I want to go on and read last man standing, but hate to see the end of the Matt Drake series. I'm hooked though, so on to Last Man Standing!

Matt Drake and the SPEAR team are back. The book starts at break neck speed & is a real rollercoaster ride, no one is safe!! Already looking forward to the conclusion of this story line and the spin off series feating Alicia Myles, would live to see the mad Swede get a series too.

It was a typical shoot em up action book. It was more shocking than anything with quite a few unexpected twists. Definitely read if you are reading the series!
