The Stone Project Abstract: Since 1998, the number of powered children born yearly has increased by 1% (Furden j. Et al. 2017). The observed increase has led to concerns among parents about the cause of these medical anomalies. However, there has been little evidence that these people, “powered” as they have been dubbed in the media, are ever born without at least one powered parent. This has led researchers to believe these powers must have a genetic component. Concerns then began among the people of several communities regarding their health and safety, leading to the creation of The Center for Powered Disease Control and Prevention in the United States (CPDC, 2010). Their labs have done extensive research with powered volunteers and agents into the source of these powers. However, nothing definitive has come from it (Hindenburg K., Jaymeson L., et al.). After the discovery of [MATERIAL REDACTED], Dr. Richard Calling became the head researcher in discovering how this material may involve the bestowal of powers. His research has led him to a staffed lab in [REDACTED], where volunteers have been brought in and narrowed down to those who will best fit the framework of this study. I really can't talk enough about how fabulous this read was!!! Firstly, we introduced to our main character Winnie, who is excited and nervous to do her first mission as an agent for the CPDC, which was pretty much a home for her growing up. Though, during said mission, she starts learning that the things she's been taught all her life about super powered humans and their abilities might have all been a lie. While this is also going on, Winnie also runs into a lovely man named Noah, who is perfect in every way (according to me, those were not Winnie's thoughts, hehehehe)
All and all, I adored this book front to back, it's a fantastic read, and it puts a fresh and exciting twist to modern fiction, blending together powers, political intrigue, side-plot romance, and nail-biting tension that's so well written it'll have you feeling like your in the room with Winnie while she navigates her missions.
* MAJOR SPOILER* Amazing 10/10 book one and only thing I have to say other wise is that killing Winnie that left me with some emotional baggage lol I loved how it kinda set up Elliot for a villain path from more or less the sunshine character. Again amazing book highly recommended. Taylor if you’re reading this you did amazing!

I really do respect the courage that any author has to show in order to write a book and put it out there for others to read. I think that it is a very difficult thing to do, and I hope that this one star review does not discourage the author from writing more in the future, but I did not enjoy this book for a number of reasons.
The Stone Project is an astounding achievement. The twists and turns had me glued to the pages. I couldn't stop reading. Winnie is a startling main character with amazing strengths and flaws that bring her to life and had me cheering for her until the very last, agonizing second.
Taylor's storytelling has a strong, sharp pace, and her ability to build out a world is brilliant. The Stone Project is a fantastic twist on the thriller genre, and I cannot recommend it enough.
If you're going to judge a book by its cover and hold it to that—in this case, haunting, dark, and dread—this is the one you should pick. Taylor Vaughan brings suspense and jaw-dropping imagery to The Stone Project, a thriller that left me speechless and my heart a racing metronome through every twist and turn. Vaughan brings the exact sort of twist suspense lovers will enjoy to her work, and I look forward to the next thing and the next she has planned!
