I purchased this book because we're expecting a chocolate lab puppy from a breeder with exceptional labs with amazing pedigrees. I'm trying to find out as much as possible about the breed because this will be my first pure bred dog. I have always had shelter rescues and have wanted a chocolate lab for years now. I did find the book very informative on the breed and I learned some things I certainly did not know about labs in particular. I do wish there had been a bit more information in the dog food section. That is one thing I'm constantly trying to figure out... what brand is the absolute healthiest or should I look into making my own dog food. I think for now, I'll read up more on making my own food and see where that takes me. Overall, this book has a lot of helpful information.

I am over half way through. I originally started reading it because I had a chocolate lab in december and then he died so I stopped reading it for a while and now I am starting back up. It(so far) is very good for a first time owner and supplies training knowledge.
