This books was a huge let down for me, it had a crazy good start but after the middle - exactly after they kiss for the first time- it gets lost
It’s supposed to be a Dark romance with Organized crime- bikers- but I don’t see any of that.
1- The bikers, other from the words “ bike” and “club” it really is no important to the plot. Kain DOES NOTHING for the club during all of the book, also the book never talks about what he does for work why does he Hate the Serpents, why does he hates the new boss ( or how he got there btw). The book never shows, it only ever talks. He is crazy, and he is a biker. Other than that I don’t get why the Biker setting
2- The past, oh boy does this book talk a big game about past. We have Lilith with her parentes being murdered and Kain’s Father burning half his face off. But other than being mentioned nothing is ever explained ( there is this character called Ghost… I don’t get it) Like, after the pag 280 I can’t think of Kain’s mask being mentioned again, or even Lillith’s past
3- Drugs, Kain talks about using drugs MULTIPLE TIMES! After the page 200/280 he never uses it again ( this drugs is described by Lilith as terrible drug who destroys people) And that folks is the power of good pussy! He only had to fuck her and BOOM, an addicted no more!
4- Lillith, if she had a personality I didn’t see it. She talks back, sure; She is funny, she is a dork. But girl is KIDNAPPED and in about 15 to 25 pages FORGETS IT EVEN MATTERS? Like she just accepts, she is kept in a cage you know? That seems IMPORTANT( and her name… girl …what a stupid as name).
5- Kain; he did have a personality, he was quick to anger and seemed obsessed, and a addict ( yes, he is addicted to this life destroying drug, which again btw seems to never really matter in this books, as all the orders things. Jesus), but after they have sex for the first time he looses it. After he only says the same things over and over in his chapters. He is supposed to be our dark love interest but other than killing guys and magic healing ( he is an avenger sure) he does NOTHING. And it bothers me SOME MUCH, how he has this flashback about his face, and his face this and that and how he has not been touched for a while BUT IT IS FORGOTTEN IN THE PLOT ( the name again, I get it you know. To call back to the Bible … Cain… but with an K. You see this is the cherry on the sundae of the type of stupid in this book)
6- Magic Healing, Kain gets shot near the heart in the begging. And he seems “ peachy” ( as he would say), and good in about a week. Than Lillith stabs him in the Leg, it’s never talked about again. And the ending… GIRL?! The guy is the new Captain America, he can heal wholes in about 2 days
7- Ghost, don’t care. Couldn’t be more boring.( he gets his own book, couldn’t be LESS excited about that, the guy is a DOOR)
8- The Villain guy, also don’t care. He has no personality ( as the rest of the characters in this book, you see i got give congratulations to the author for writing all of her characters as boring as watching paint dry, and I mean : ALL)
9- Man, every guys who comes in about a 1km radius of Lillith is fact trying to do something bad to her, only to justify her being with love with Kain in about 2.5 seconds.
10- Dark romance, he stalks her but in the books it’s gets dropped in about a 100 pages. He kidnaps her, it’s gets dropped in an about 100 pages. AND BETTER, he puts her in a CAGE! But it’s never used, AND BETTER, he puts her in a collar and it’s never used - BOTH AFTER ONLY ONE SCENE. Where is the dark romance? Where is Lillith fighting? She just gives up? Let’s Kain BRAND HER? All because she wants to be dicked down?

This books reads like a contemporary’s romance attempt at Dark romance, it’s not fully committed. Has great ideas, great characters ( ideias! IDEIAS OK?! Because if lacks execution) great points but always stopes halfway there
It’s not the worse book because the author has a tallent for writing, but it’s not good. It’s not even medium. It’s readable ( until the page 280), and is funny because is absurd!

Не погано, трохи нагадувало Ш. Тессьє, але не так багато сцен +18, і не такі жорстокі. Змішані відчуття після прочитання цієї книги.
Однозначно продовжу серію, бо "Привид" - інтригує. Дуже цікаво дізнатись його історію. Та і як персонаж він мені навіть більше сподобався.

Dark romance between Lillith, an intern working in the Emergency Room, and Kain - a patient she saved. Kain is mysterious and has a dark pull but Lillith cannot stay away from him, even when Lillith discovered that Kain is part of a Motorcycle Club/Gang that she should avoid.
Reading the first few chapters of this book is a rush! I keep on guessing on what happens next for every turn of the page.

I received this book as an ARC and will leave my review voluntarily.
Please be advised that I will explain certain parts of the book that might be seen as a spoilers. So for new readers, the spoilers will be small, not excessively large. They will be featured after my initial thoughts.
First and foremost, oh my goodness. OH. MY. GOODNESS. (My genuine reaction after finishing.)
From the very first chapter The Devils Vice sucks you into Lilith’s world and at times it feels like you can’t get out. (Good or bad depending on how you view it)
The different emotions I felt throughout the book were absolutely insane, especially regarding the MMC.
There are trigger warnings and I highly suggest you read them carefully and thoroughly. Some of them are detailed throughout the chapters, so please be advised.
When her life gets turned upside down, 24 year old Lillith must live with the eyes of a Hellfyre Motorcycle club member constantly on her. After helping save his life in the hospital she interns, she feels an instant connection. She can’t figure out where this connection is coming from and why she can’t lay her finger on it. His obsession becomes extreme and our MFC can’t seem to catch a break.
I am extremely impressed by the way Mindy Paige wrote her characters. Each character had their own personality, their own drives, their own feelings. They were different in their own way, almost as if you were watching a movie and watching the actors bring to their life a person on the page. Each character that communicates with our main characters have their own purpose and they do their part. There are some character I felt shouldn’t have been there. However, considering there will be a second book, I hope those characters get a better arc and we can get more details about them and their backgrounds. Also, my favorite character has to be Herb. I felt a real connection with Herb, I can’t explain it.
With that being said, the pacing was a little off. Some events happened so fast, I got whiplash. I have some unanswered questions, but again I’m hoping with book two they will be answered.

Kain’s background is so beautifully written. I cried so much. You genuinely feel like jumping into the page and telling him it’s going to be alright. Does this excuse his actions? Absolutely not. But there’s more of an understanding regarding what he does. For example, the kidnapping. Is it ever okie to kidnap someone? No of course not.
And my absolute favorite quote is “I'd find you in every lifetime, little flower. You shouldn't have worried about that.” I was kicking and swinging my feet like a little school girl.
All in all, this is such a great read and you enjoy Dark Romance, this book is 100% for you!

WOOO, WHAT A WILD RIDE THIS ONE IS.
Lets start with the first chapter.. I was immediately hooked and gasping, my poor Lilith. That alone makes you want to continue reading. And then you meet Kain and you're done for.
As you read on you just become more invest in all of the characters (and the pigeons) watching them fall apart and come together.
It's dark, emotional and I never knew what was going to happen next.
Lilith's stubbornness and come backs made me laugh. Kain is basically like do what I say and she's like LOL no and then IMMEDIETELY regrets it.
Mindy's writing style is so easy to fly through and for the first time writing Dark Romance it was really good!! (and she knows how to write spice, that's for sure!)
I think we can all agree that we want Ghost's story, asap.

I have to remind myself this is fiction. In no way would I ever imagine someone giving in so easily and just becoming theirs. Lilith is a badass and a weak soul at the same time. 🤷🏻♀️

This book was so good! Lillith and Kain are so broken but their relationship fixes them and repairs the damage they both went through. Kain is so mysterious but you have to love him!

This was the most confusing read possible. 100pgs in and I wanted to dnf.
Did she want there to be a plot or not? That question is still up for a heavy debate. It’s like she wanted plot but didn’t know how to weave the spice into. So the entire time it felt like we were missing half the information, and then BOOM sex scene followed by another confusing bit of information.
As a dark romance girly this just makes me hang my head in disappointment. I had such high hopes for this large, possessive, scarred man.

No matter how many times I read it, I simply can not understand the appeal of BDSM. Like??? Why would you wanna collar a fellow human??? Why would be attractive about being subjugated to the position of a pet??? How can romance possibly transpire when you and your partner are nawt on equal footing??? It’s just!!! I don’t get it!!! Had a pleasure reading this book.
Lillith 24 is a struggling resident at a hospital, tired and depleted and her only companion is a pigeon who comes knocking on her window every morning. One day 2 men are brought into the hospital in critical condition and she instantly feels a connection to the one she's assigned to work on. This starts the domino effect for the rest of her life. People seem to start showing their true colors around her, her nightmares seem to be getting worse but also more revealing as her brain had repressed some of those memories.
Kain 34 I think is a tortured soul, lays one look at his sweet flower and he's hook line and sinker. He begins watching and making sure she stays safe.. cant have his toy breaking before he's even touched her.
As the story progresses Lillith learns that she and Kain are more connected than what she had originally thought.
Man oh man do I love a good st@lker, and Mindy nailed all the things I love most about them. This man was unhinged in all the best ways. When she said check your triggers she wasn't joking. Please check them, as I didn't find anything too too extra but I love dark romances so I expect to be uncomfy in moments. Ugh... Kains background made me tear up.. theres never a more deserving person than him for a happy ever after. Overall fantastic story. I do have some questions but I'm assuming(hoping) there will be another book in this world as I need to know who the heck Ghost is and what his story is. So Mindy if you're reading this... please write that mkay thanks you're the bestest 😂

Oooh I enjoyed this!!
I mean if the main characters names (Kain and Lillith) don’t give you an idea of how dark and depraved this book is then I’m not sure what will.
This is a dark stalker romance which is oh so toxic yet oh so good.
I mean, he is clearly a psychopath yet tries to be sweet in his own way. It just doesn’t always have the desired effect. Bag of worms anyone?
I love love loved the animal side characters Herb and Gerald. So cute and they added a touch of sweetness to an otherwise dark read.
That ending. Ima need the next book pronto!

this was dark, like “i wasn’t expecting it to go that far” dark. and it was damn entertaining. it kept me at the edge of my seat with tension, twists and turns, betrayals. i love a scarred mmc, but add in a stalker and i’m a goner. plus, he was in a motorcycle club, this book checked all the boxes. what more can one want? i know, for him to be a psychopath. and did the author deliver. this book probably had my favorite and most realistic depiction of psychopathy in a long time, if not ever. the lack of self-control, the callous traits, the repetitive intrusive thoughts, the inability to identify and process one’s emotions and feelings to the point where the character knew what he was supposed to experience because he had researched it. he was unhinged. but the fmc also had some darkness in her that led back to him, and he unleashed all her potential. it’s the trauma bonding of it all. they saved each other.

WOAH!!! What a ride this book takes you on. Buckle in and hold on tight cause it's a doozy for sure.
Kain is sooooo unhinged and I am here for all of it! The things he did for Lillith and the way he watched her, I mean it was full blown stalker behavior, buuuuutttt it was still swoon worthy for my red flag loving heart.
The things Lillith went through was absolutely heartbreaking but made her into such a strong woman. Watching her go from sweet and innocent to sweet and deviant 😏 had me screaming happy for her. Once she was able to accept every part of the darkness that was lurking inside of her that was when the real fun began for her and Kain 😮💨 Their chemistry, holy hotness 🥵.

WOAH!!! What a ride this book takes you on. Buckle in and hold on tight cause it's a doozy for sure.
Kain is sooooo unhinged and I am here for all of it! The things he did for Lillith and the way he watched her, I mean it was full blown stalker behavior, buuuuutttt it was still swoon worthy for my red flag loving heart.
The things Lillith went through was absolutely heartbreaking but made her into such a strong woman. Watching her go from sweet and innocent to sweet and deviant 😏 had me screaming happy for her. Once she was able to accept every part of the darkness that was lurking inside of her that was when the real fun began for her and Kain 😮💨 Their chemistry, holy hotness 🥵.

Wow! What an incredible and twisted dark romance. I liked this story so much that I could not put it down. Lilith is an innocent girl with a dark past that is working as an intern at a hospital. Kain becomes so obsessed with her that he stalks her. Even ends up kidnapping her. I just couldn’t help but root for him as you get his POV of things. Also this book is so spicyyyyyy
I want to know more about Ghost tho!

Thinking back to this book, I didn't actually like it, I just didn't hate it. Phantom, the protagonist from the second book, was really intriguing, and I was excited to read his story. So I didn't actually enjoy this book, I was just happy to finish it so I could read the next one.

I should have stopped reading back at the 10% mark, but somehow I lasted until this point. HE PUT A COLLAR ON HER after suffocating her, kidnapping her, and chaining her in a cage. I can do dark romance, but this is not it. I actually need to say a prayer to cleanse my mind of this.
ALSO HOW WERE ALL OF HER FRIENDS TRYING TO RAPE, TRAFFIC, OR KILL HER????

He punched her in the head and knocked her out while kidnapping her. He then keeps her locked in a small cage where she couldn't even sit up underneath his bed for a while. Mind you, she was naked and chained. He was just an ass. I can definitely see why Wes did that to him.
Also the book tried too hard to make him seem intimidating. Instead of giving proper reasons as to why he is intimidating, all the author did was make everyone quiver around him. Literally everyone who sets their eyes on him quivers like bitch please.
I genuinely regret wasting my time reading this book. The only good character in here was Ghost.

The Devils Vice is book one in The Dark Triad series. The story follows Lillith and Kain, and I know what you’re thinking, no not that Lilith and Cain. Lillith is an intern at a hospital when Kain arrives as an injured suspect at the hospital. He’s immediately enraptured with her and can’t let her go. The story is dark and twisty. As a dark romance mafia reader I adored it. The sneak peaks of Ghost??? I’m in love!! I can’t wait for his and Brett’s story!

I liked the idea behind this book but the character choices and plot points didn’t make sense or felt rushed. I like morally grey characters but consent was not considered well enough for me. Also a lot of convenient plot points (like phone calls or texts used to stop the action all the time). Not for me.

November 23, 2024mmc has a drug problem, a twitchy dick and apparently never interacted with - anyone whatsoever - before, fmc has no personality or critical thinking skills, i suspect the author does not know what veneers are seeing as everyone had them, and all side characters i met sucked. Made it to 23% but i couldn't do it.

i really liked this book!! and i turned into a huge sucker for kains morbid self. the way i would let him kidnap me any day of the week is a little unhinged but we’re all here for it.
seriously tho the way this man protects his flower at all costs makes me melt 😭 let’s not forget about the banana pancakes 🥞
