I'm not normally a "good writing style" pedant however although I did enjoy this book, some of the writing style of the author really grated with me and lessened my enjoyment of the story.
The author appears to have just discovered exclamation marks and the book is peppered with the liberal use of this form of punctuation - there is one particular part of the book where every other paragraph ends in an exclamation mark where there really is no need. Food and meals always seem to be described as "delicious".
I thought some of the characters were a bit cliched and 2D however I did like the alternate chapters being in the present/past. The 'twist' in the book could be seen a mile off but overall, it was quite a good read.
hush hush a perfect title for a wonderful book this is a tale that keeps you going from the start and in true Linda Kavanagh style its not straightforward to keeps you guessing from the start I cannot recommend it enough .
