She was the one he let slip away… The only woman to ever fully claim his heart; Everything lost focus without his songbird; Ever-after without Nora-Jean was like a song without a melody.
Lawson was the only man she’d ever truly love; Evelyn Belle was an unexpected gift and her whole world; Destiny had a funny way of working out for Nora — a great love lost; a daughter’s love gained.
War had separated Lawson and Nora. Life had driven them apart. But Shelbyville was a small town; far too small for a love so grand.
When Lawson moves home, it’s only a matter of time before the two of them must confront the past and decide if they are steeled enough to rewrite their future and go after their second chance.
There’s a place where your mind can escape, your body can find rest, and your heart can soar – and R.C. Martin wants to take you there.
In a voice all her own, she strives to capture the magic of a kiss, the passion in a lovers’ embrace, and even sometimes the breathtaking ache of a broken heart. A true believer in the power of love and the grace found in redemption, you can trust this hopeless romantic to take you on an emotional ride that leaves you forever changed.
Another great book with the characters and story line. I love how these books have the family growing and extended family growing and all being together and in each others lives.
Ms Martin can write a story that draws you in and keeps you invested to the very end! I love a small town, second chance romance, throw in an adorable kid and I am sold. Nora is an incredible, hard-working mom that had her dream stole from her. Lawson has his own demons and is just beginning to face them. The one thing neither can deny is the chemistry, you don't just forget.... I loved the ease in which Lawson, Nora and Evie simply fell into Life. The support of his family and her Aunt and Uncle and Mitzi made my heart happy. There were some tears shed, but my smile was fully intact at the end.
I always adore a good single parent story. Throw in small town and second chance and it makes it even better. I loved Nora, Evie, and Lawson. The war may have torn them apart but Lawson knows Nora is the only woman for him. He knows Evie is part of the package and is ready to win her over, if only Nora would give him a second chance. There were so many heartwarming moments in this book that had me getting a little teary-eyed. It's been a while since I read R.C. Martin and I look forward to catching up on her books.
