I knew Blayd was hiding something BIG! The person we knew is gone and I love the man we meet. As we peel back the layers of his story, we see him slowly fall for Franni and her daughter.
As he exposes the man he is to Franni and caring for her daughter, I was all in. Finishing the book in almost one sitting.

This is another amazing spinoff/crossover series from the original WJ Security. It features a group of alpha men who want to right the wrongs in the world. Their mission is to protect those in need and eliminate those who pose a threat.
Each member is hot, sexy, but full of love for the one woman who they vow to protect. They are a brotherhood who watch each others backs.
I'm completely hooked on this series as the others and the characters with their wit, humour, banter and sarcasm. The mix of action, danger, and laughter has me fully engaged.

I knew Blayd couldn’t be all shallow and snark, and wow, was I right! Also somewhat surprised, but in the best way. He feels the shift of pieces to complete his heart when he sees the mysterious woman and her daughter, and he doesn’t fight it. Nope. He’s a smart man and is willing to grab this possibility with both hands and never let go. It helps that he’s also a man on a mission. And that Gia adores him. AND that Franni sorta does also.
Franni is also quite the gem here. She’s strong and smart and stubborn and is willing to risk her entire world to rely on the men and women who strike fear in her abuser. She doesn’t hesitate to provide all intel she can, no matter how trivial the detail might seem.
Between her and Blayd, they’re building something great. Add Bree and her ability to see through the nonsense, her patience with her friend, and her demands that Blayd be himself for a change, and this is easily my favorite of the series so far. Trust me. You’ll love it also.

Amazing as always. The mystery and suspense is there. The romance too obviously and the protective hero, Blayd is going to make you swoon and melt for him. His daddy side is pretty AMAZING!!! You aren’t ready for this side of him. I love how he fall in love with Gia and them for Franni. This story was the perfect reading. I devoured this story in 1 day, I couldn’t stop reading it. Can’t wait for the next one, so excited to see how Elizabella is going to present us the next book.

Ms. Baker, you delivered a book that will be on my read again and again. I have been waiting for Blayd's story since the teaser you left us with in Resisting The Spark. I knew this book was going to be one that would have me sitting on the edge of my seat since I knew who the FMC was and I was not disappointed. The way that you hook your readers in right from the start. The way you built up the suspense and the relationship between the MMC and the FMC was absolute perfection. Here you gave us a couple where he falls first and not with just anyone but the wife of his team's biggest enemy.
Blayd had me swooning over I'm with the way he put Franni and her daughter, Gia, first and before anything other than finding her discussing husband. We thought he was the playboy because he was flirting with all his teammate's girls, but he had a reason and it will break your heart as to why. We see the real him come to the surface when Franni and Gia show up. He feels love first, then revenge sets in, and he vows to make things right for the two girls who have taken over his heart. I have yet to read a book I don’t like by Elizabella Baker. This books, once again, had so much drama and intrigue and it had me on the edge of my seat throughout. This is a fabulous series and this time we get to read Blayd’s story, and while it is not too complex it certainly sheds light into the person that is Blayd. Enter Franni and Gia, who are on the run from Franni’s very abusive husband and you can hear Blayd’s mind ticking over from the moment he sees them. I loved Blayd’s protective nature and how he helped Franni and Gia overcome all the bad they had endured in their lives. Another great book in this series that only adds to the appeal of all the characters as you see them all band together to protect the people they love and see as their family.
Highly recommend.

It's not perfect, it's real, it's messy and it's everything they could want
Franni and Gia's story is heartbreakingly horrific, the abuse they live with on a daily basis is criminal and would make anyone angry enough to seek retribution....but for a protector, a warrior, it is torture and serving up punishment is a given.
Blayd finds his life, his priorities change in a second, the second he sees Gia, sleeping peacefully like an angel, but knowing what she has escaped steals his heart and his future. We see a whole new Blayd here as he falls for Franni and Gia, and it is a Blayd you cannot resist. He is attentive, thoughtful, warm, generous, protective and owns his feelings.....even when he doesn't understand them!
An awesome addition to the series, I read this on Kindle Unlimited.

Blayde melts your heart
In Breaking the Chains we finally learn why Blayde acts the way he does in the first books of this series. When the obviously abused wife and daughter of the Blackguard Security’s current Public Enemy #1 rolls up to their compound with the info they need to take him down, Blayde has a strange reaction to Franni and her adorable little girl. He falls hopelessly in love and his protective instincts flair. He has been hurt in the past, burned deep by love. She has never known love. And a little girl who never had a chance to be a kid. This unlikely trio will steal your heart.no spoilers but suffice to say this will be hands down your new favorite Blackguard Security book! Worth the wait and then some! 13/10 recommend.

I have been excited for Blayd's book and Elizabella Baker did NOT disappoint!!
Blayd comes across as a flirt and a bit of a jerk, but in Breaking The Chains we see the real Blayd.
From the moment Blayd meets Franni & her adorable daughter Gia we see this sweet, caring & protective side of him.
Franni and her daughter ran from her psychotic, abusive, evil husband to the one place she knew she would be safe. Blackguard Security.
She did not expect to be welcomed so warmly into their "family", and to become so close with Blayd or to have such feelings for him.
This was such an exciting, emotional, page turner. And as always Elizabella leaves us excited for her next book in the series.

I have been looking forward to this book since the tantalising teaser in Resisting the Spark and wow this book certainly did not disappoint. Blayd has been a joker and player in previous books but now we really get to see the real Blayd behind the mask her wears. As we have come to expect from this author, the plot is page-turning, there is loads of excitement and a steamy romance. This book could be read as a standalone, however it is great to catch up with characters from previous books (and series). I recommend this book unreservedly - And by the way BOTH Blayd and Franni have a big secret! I suggest you read this book to find out!

Blayd is ex-military and his teams resident trouble maker but one look at Franni and her adorable daughter makes him want to change everything, he vows to make life safe for them and hopefully keep them in his life forever.
I’ve never read anything from this author before and I really enjoyed this book, the style writing is something that kept me interested from the very first page.

Another wonderful book in the series! Wow!
This was about Franni and her daughter Gia who escapes her abusive husband to run for help to Blayd and his team for protection.
Fast paced and amazing plot that was full of emotion and feelings. It was fantastic to see the I often inappropriate Blayd let his walls go down so easily for the right people. Franni and Gia are strong and survivors.
Well written with great suspense and so much dramatic licence that made for a brilliant plot. It certainly kept me enthralled from start to finish. Great book!!!

A fast-paced page turner! Franni Accardo and her daughter are running away from her psychotic villainous husband. What better place to run to than Blackguard Security and the protective arms of Blayd Caldwell. I must say it was beautiful to finally see the real heart and soul of Blayd; for him to open up, rather than hiding behind the mask he has created for himself. This was a great read!
While it is a standalone, I highly recommend you read the series in sequence to enjoy it to the fullest extent.
Oh, and both Frannie and Blayd each have a secret…do tell!

Received as an ARC and leaving my honest review voluntarily. We finally have Blayd's story and it was so good! All the snark and flirtation he shows to his team was just a smokescreen and underneath it all he is actually a protector and an absolute swoon worthy alpha... he just needed to find the right woman and one precocious little girl. Frannie has gone through hell but she hasn't let it break her and you can see her strength and intelligence and love for Gia shine through. A really fast paced, exciting read with so much feels that you wouldn't want to put it down!

Great story. I love the way both main characters have sworn off the opposite sex, and yet it didn't stop their attraction from growing. Seeing a grown man play princess with a four-year-old showed the depth of Blayd. Fannie found the Blackguard Security group to protect her and her daughter in return for eliminating her biggest threat, her husband. However, danger still lurked. Would they ever be safe? Can Blayd protect them and make them his forever? Read Breaking the Chains to find out. Wonderful book and characters. I received a copy, and I'm voluntarily giving my honest review.

EB does it again and gives us a love story with plenty of action. The team has created a family but their common enemy is still out there but when their enemy wife and daughter show up with a way to defeat their enemy once and for all. As the team rallies around the abused woman and child secrets will be revealed and the jokester of the group may end up more serious then the team thinks. Get ready for a story of where the hero falls for a kid first.

love love love this book. I am so thankful to be able to get arc's for this author I love every one of them!! This story picks up right where the previous one resisting the spark ended. So it's important to read the inter connected stories. In this story we meet Franni and Gia who have been through so much. We also have a little look into why Blayd is who he is. The chemistry between these two is on fire. Blayd took gia and franni under his wing immediately. Gia who is nervous around men took to Blayd immediately. We also get answers to many issues surrounding frannis awful husband who this group blackguard security has been hunting for so long. I 10000 percent recommend this book and every single one of her others.

I've been waiting on Blayde's story because I knew there was something about his story that he was hiding. Franni comes along with her daughter Gia and makes him rethink his stance on relationships. I loved that they stayed true to their beliefs and didn't start a sexual relationship until Franni's problem was resolved. But boy, when it did get resolved, there was no holding them back.

Oh my goodness, this one had me on the edge of my seat. Franni escapes a monster of a husband with her daughter,Gia, seeking refuge. She is offering up inside information to a group of people who have been searching for her husband, Mafia boss, Vito, in exchange for a safe place to live with her daughter. Blayd takes them under his wing, falling hard for the both of them. Blayd is the gentle but protective hero they need, you can't help but fall in love.

Breaking The Chains ( Blackguard Security: Phantom Book 4) by Elizabella Baker is another great book in this series. The flirt and jerk of the team, Blayd Caldwell, falls fast and hard for Francesca (Franni) Accardo and her beautiful daughter Gia. With both Blayd and Franni keeping secrets throughout, it makes for an awesome twist to the book. I love the book.

This book is so perfect in every way! I loved the start straight through to the end! This book does not disappoint! Blayd is the perfect man to help Franni and Gia find their way out of the desperation they are feeling after running away and leaving Vito. Getting free from the mobster is no easy feat but Blayd helps ease the way! He is everything that Vito was not! He is caring and supportive. He will make the perfect husband and father to these two lost souls..

Blayd most definitely redeemed himself from what he was. You have to adore the relationship & trust that developed between him & Gia. Franni & Blayd played no games. It was sweet, true & you only wanted to see how it progressed. Again you enjoy the trust, support, banter that this team brings to each member & their partners. Read it!

I did not see Blayd’s book being like this. It was a pleasant surprise. Blayd always came off as such a jerk. We get to see the real man. He is so gentle with Frankie and her daughter. I loved their HEA. There’s nothing like a big strong man holding a little girl to make your insides mushy. This was such a heart stealing story.

A sad story about spousal abuse and neglect of their child Gia. Franni has waited 4 years to make her escape with her daughter to get as far away as possible, but danger still lurks. Blayd fell in love with Gia at first sight, he would protect them both with his life. Would have been a 5 star accept for the epilogue. HEA.

I read all of Elizabella Baker’s books few months back and stayed up until five in the morning to read them! I’ve been into suspense romance for now. I can’t pick a favorite because I love all of them. Their relationships are amazing, the mystery & suspense. I just have a thing for military man when it comes to to read romance books.

Holy Guacamole!!! What an emotional, all of the feels romance! My heart broke for Franni & Gia…it also broke for Blayd but the feelings & chemistry between them was so very real. Grab this action packed, heart racing journey to see if they get Franni & Gia out from the evil monster! Loved it!!!

I loved Blayd and Frannie's story, it was intense had me on the edge of my seat could not put down. Gia was adorable and I also loved Blayd's interactions with her. He would burn down the world just to see her happy. That's the kind of hero I love to read about. This is one of my favorite stories by Elizabella Baker can't wait to see what's coming next.
