True love only comes twice in a lifetime… “Jane, my love. I cannot bear the thought that you didn't know what was coming and that you trusted me so completely, but I knew that if I had stayed another minute, I never would have been able to do what I had to do. I wouldn't have been able to leave. Please forgive me for betraying you. When I gave you up – when I gave up on our love – I knew that I would never love again.Yours forever,Cricket.”Emma Jones longs for a way out. While she is working as a caregiver for the elderly Mrs. Baum, between her ward’s sullen demeanor and the clockwork routine of her household, every day feels the same. Until a parcel carrying the wrong address arrives at their doorstep one day, holding a faded, sealed diary. Compelled, Emma opens the diary and immerses herself in its incredible story – a choice that will change the course of her life, and the lives of those closest to her, forever. The only thing that Cricket still has of Ginger is her nickname. Everything else was lost – buried, just like the dreams they used to share. Desperate, she begins to write. First to herself, then to Ginger, not knowing that her diary will change her future – in more ways than she can imagine.
This Novel is not an easy read Filled with pain Spiritual enlightenment Forgiveness And much more.
There were times while reading this book I wanted to put it down And move on to my next book. However as the book continued I Was Guided to continue to read. In doing so I was forced to look at my own judgements and places Where I lack faith And forgiveness For myself and others. It also precipitated Me too Reaffirm My own Commitment to self love And make changes in my own life.
I liked the description of the book before I started reading, and couldn’t wait to get started. However, this was an extremely difficult book to read and I picked it up and put it down so many times, wondering if I should continue. I don’t believe the sexual descriptions/ references were required and to be honest detracted from the story line. I didn’t finish this book in the end.
This book was absolutely breath-taking. A story of true love, lost love, and reunification. A tear jerker but beautifully written. If you like love stories this book is a must read.
A story that navigates the timeless realms of true love...
"The Secret of the Lost Diary" by Yonit Oved unfolds a narrative that traverses the timeless realms of true love. Emma Jones ensnared in the routine of her caregiving duties, stumbles upon an unexpected parcel, housing a sealed diary resonating with the heartfelt sentiments from the past. These words, laden with remorse and the ache of lost love, beckon Emma into a captivating tale that stretches across generations.
Immersing herself in the letters, Emma becomes an unseen participant in a love story that transcends the boundaries of tragedy. The diary, a vessel for the resurfacing of dreams and buried emotions initiates a cascade effect, leaving an indelible mark not only on Emma's life but also on those in her path.
The novel masterfully threads together strands of yearning and rediscovery, delving into the profound repercussions of love and its inevitable losses. The fervent writings, initially confined to the diary's pages, evolve into a transformative force, molding destinies in unexpected ways. "The Secret of the Lost Diary" takes readers on a poignant temporal journey, where the echoes of a bygone love serve as a guiding force, steering Emma toward a future she could scarcely have envisioned. Through excellent storytelling, the author blends emotion and destiny, leaving readers with a novel that resonates within the heart, lingering long after the final page is turned. Highly recommended and a well-deserved five stars from me. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this novel.
Got right into the book, but it started to be a bit boring. I kept reading, but was never really into it. I did not like the ending, or how it skipped around. It got very confusing. I normally feel good when I get to the end. Maybe it was the subject matter. Either way, I did not enjoy this book
This book is very wordy repeating a lot of t g e same things over and over only in different settings. This was a difficult book to get through because it didn't call to me to pick it u p. The ending was exactly what I expect mid WYcombe through.
Very difficult book to comment on. I have very mixed emotions. Parts of the book I did not enjoy and other parts I loved. All in all the book had a profound message.
