I’ll start with this-I loved it. There wasn’t a single one I did not enjoy. But let me highlight a few of my favorites from this books:

Far Point’s Far Point Diner-a man traveling late at night, who also suffers from ulcerative colitis, find a beacon of light in the middle of nowhere in the form of a diner. Small victories! Or is it?

My thoughts-well, I already knew just by the start of this story that it wasn’t going to end well. But the slow build made it all the more unnerving. And also, can you really a trust sweet old couple just dying to feed you? If you did before, you certainly won’t after this story. This one got my seal of approval.

What’s the password-a hooded figure approaches a temple-dark, mysterious, eerie. He is needed for what he brings. All he needs to do is say the password.

My thoughts-this one was humorous. I found myself snorting a few times reading the argument between the hooded figure and the man protecting the door. It was a fun read, and highlights a perfect balance between horror and humor.

The Printer-Prince’s birthday has arrived, and his brother-in-law has gifted him with a state of the art printer, capable of just about anything. It’s equipped with A.I. and can even talk to you! And it knows just what Prince needs.

My thoughts-you guys….I’m already terrified of A.I.. This just further solidified it. Imagine having a device that can browse your web history, can text you, and starts conversing with you. Nope, nope, nope. Gold stars for this one.

There are many more I could have highlighted. And now that this book is on your radar, put it on your TBR, and make sure you read it this coming year. You won’t regret it.

A huge thank you to the author for my gifted copy. My opinion is my own.

Fun, creepy and intense

This collection of short stories is fun, gory and weird in the best possible sense of the word! Definitely gives me a hit of Stephen King in terms of subject matter and clarity of writing, but with more of a cosmic edge. It's impossible to pick a favorite story, each was unique and strange in its own way, although the sheep-scientist was possibly my favorite character. Look forward to more from this author and to spending more time in the Far Point universe.
