Maldita Elisse, Te odio.
Shopping List: unaliving funhouse, truth or dare game of survival, stepdaddy, F Machine, twists and turns
All alone is like nothing I have ever read before! It’s dark and spicy and keeps ya saying WTH through out the book. Kenzie for sure keeps you on your toes with what will Happen next and questioning your sanity!!
If you like saw , home alone and truth or dare this is for you!! This book is their baby 😜
Definitely one of a kind! The movie Saw with some smut! The side plot with Bruce was hot. I only took a star away because the FMC made the ending obvious well before the actual twist at the end happened.
This was the most unhinged book I’ve read; dark, depraved, and deliciously twisted.
It gives: Saw, home alone, and H.H. Holmes vibes
Kenzie brought us this masterpiece to help clear her head of nightmares. Make sure you read her TW/CW & enjoy.
I really enjoyed the dark twisted events that followed this game of truth or dare for Abby & Elisse. The Easter eggs within this book were fun to find my second read through too! This is a book unlike anything I’ve read. The twist isn’t something you’ll expect and when it happens you’ll definitely ask yourself what the heck just happened. 🖤
Omfg! This story was perfect in all the right ways. Deranged, twisted, unhinged and then add in the ending where I completely did NOT see that happening. This was very well written and kept me hooked from start to finish. I truly did not want to put it down.
I read the book because I figured it has to be setup for us to dislike the FMC enough to see her 😵. Sooo billed as a Saw like horror erotica I was curious. Unfortunately the torture was just 🥱. The erotica elements felt forced and stale. I guess there's a twist but honestly you'll figure it out around 11%. 🤷🏾♀️. Only upside is hearing the other characters dunk on the FMC
Okay...ummmm.... let my brain catch up with me here, and process what I just read! Home alone, meets saw, with a truth or dare twist! Abby... what can I say, yeah nothing that won't spoil it for you! I legally have no words that won't spoil the book. It's dark, depraved, and twisted. I loved it! Couldn't put it down! 5/⭐️ 2.5/🌶️
I was hooked to this book from the get go! It has saw like escape room vibes with some wild twists and turns you’ll never expect. There is of course some spice, age gap and all the unexpected darkness. Expect the unexpected for sure!
4⭐️ Couldn’t put it down after 30% in, the thrill of the game had me glued in The twist was predictable- maybe due to Abby keep repeating it or because of the “clues” in the book that gave it away but I was still very pleased with the outcome, I’m kinda glad it wasn’t a “happy ending” as I’m bored of them 🤣
Even tho the book was entertaining and basically gave me what I was looking for, I’m pissed at the ending.
And yes there are spoilers in my review.
NOW before I go on my rant, let me state that the ending of this book wasn’t catered to me. I prefer a book where it ends right for the main character. Normally the fmc for me. THAT IS NOT THIS BOOK.
Depending on the genre of the book, I don’t necessarily need a “HEA” what I do need is the ending to be in favor of the fmc. For example, when I read a sex trafficking book, I just need the fmc to not be dead.
Again, that was not this book.
So this is really for the ppl who don’t like the endings of books to not be of favor of the main characters or more precisely the female main characters.
I’m pissed that we spend all the book inside a character who fucking lost and died. And we didn’t even get to see die. We were narrated how she fucking died.
I’m pissed that it was TREMENDOUSLY obvious how elisse was in on the games the ENTIRE time
And then I’m even more pissed at the fact that she fucking WON.
AND I’m even MORE LIVID at the fact that since her and Nate love games so much, yet he let her cheat the entire time!!!! She didn’t even go through as much torture as Abby did! Yet they keep calling Abby pathetic when she should’ve been the real fucking winner.
Like I’m so angry that they literally picked out a girl they had no business with, played games with her life, unfair games I might add since Elisse didn’t even have to get tortured, and yet she lost.
Like I’m livid.
Maybe if elisse was the fmc I would feel differently. Maybe if it wasn’t OBVIOUS elisse was in on it and when she killed Abby I would’ve been more shocked than angry, either way, this ending sucks.
The book would’ve been better with a better twist.
Idk if Abby being the one to die WAS said twist. But that could’ve even been better if we actually seen her die.
Idk but I’m just fucking pissed. I’m pissed I had to spend majority of chapters in a fmc who was fucking tortured the most, became brave, wanted to kill elisse and Nate, and was fucking cheated out of life by their games.
I’m unsatisfied.
You know, from the very beginning (like I said I knew elisse was in on it from the jump) I couldn’t help but think was I really wanted to read about. What I really wanted to read was a book where both fmc were surprised of the turn of events and were so new to fighting for your life.
Because Elisse was used to this, she was basically cheating the whole time. And then the fact that instead of heart-wrenching games, she got fucking presents. Whereas Abby was actually fighting.
Idk ig this book isn’t catered to me. Cuz even in movies I’m furious when the main characters don’t survive.
Idk, but making elisse hella obvious defo didn’t help. The twist would’ve been better if we thought she was as clueless as Abby. It also would’ve helped to make it seem like elisse actually liked Abby cuz it was also obvious she did not.
But like I said. This book was not catered to ppl like me. Ppl who what the ending in the favor of the fmc, this book is not for you.
Wow. All Alone was more of a horror/thriller than it was a dark romance, but I was hooked to see where it was going. Abby and her friend, Elisse break into her boss, Dr. Holman’s house and from there, they are entered into a real life house of horrors where they are put through a game of ‘truth or dare’ with some deadly consequences. There’s some graphic scenes throughout and definitely need to check trigger warnings as it delves into some dark issues. From the offset, I was intrigued into what was going to happen and I needed to know if they were going to get through this house in one piece and if there was going to have a HEA. I have to admit that I did see the twist coming relatively early due to the way the characters were voiced. The reason I picked it up was because people were saying it was like a ‘smutty Saw’ and I can see the correlation, but it was more akin to the Blumhouse ‘Escape Room’ than Saw. Overall, I enjoyed it. Even if I could see the twists coming early on, it was gripping and I was very hooked.
This was an extremely dark romance with saw vibes and a touch of stalker . All alone takes the game of truth or dare and twists everything you thought you wanted or needed to something so much darker. I gave it a 5 star because this is a very well written book that never gets stale and keeps a very fast pace though the entire story. There are so many twists in this one it had me hooked from the beginning to end. I love how in the last part you get to see things reversed that added so much more fun to this book. I would highly recommend checking all your triggers on this one though. This book is not for the faint of heart. I would have to say this is one of the darkest books I have read and how much detail went into describing each and every room and each new "turn" was amazing. I do feel bad for one of the characters but without that type of character and how it concluded it would not have the saw series feel to it.
tropes: kidnapping murder SA corpse mutilation manipulation and more check triggers before diving in. wow this book was crazy. what a ride. this definitely had jigsaw vibes. i was sucked in almost immediately. the twists in this book had me frantically turning the pages. i couldnt get enough. i figured it out half way through but man was it good. it left me wanting more. if you are looking for a good read with lots of twisted depraved craziness.
3.5 stars. I enjoyed this book but I feel it may be a bit overhyped. The story was entertaining and had some very interesting plot ideas I haven’t read in other books but the twist didn’t feel like a twist - it was given away very early on. If you’re seeing this review and this book is on your TBR, definitely still give it a read! The elements were creative and the taboo was fun!
I haven't read something so intriguing in a long time! it's best not to read spoilers and go blind. you won't regret it! there are some twists and turns that you will anticipate, but definitely not the last one! the book has HEA but not for all characters

I don’t know how I feel about this book, I wanted to read something dark and someone recommended it but this is not what I was expecting… it’s like some fucked up saw movie in a dark very very dark I wouldn’t even call it romance…. I’m still in shock…
A dark game of truth or dare, can I say I love it? It's twisted but so well written, great plot and i didn't guess the ending. Spent the whole book trying to guess it. haha.
* Not a Romance * Captive * Truth or Dare / Survival Game * Dark Thriller / Horror * Pitch Black * Graphic Violence * Age Gap / Taboo / Step Dad * Psychological torture
WTF did I just read? And where do I get more? This one is DARK and I do not recommend for the faint of heart.
This is fast-paced, action-packed and a heck of a ride!!! YASSSSS I have been craving this pace and it delivered 🙌🏻
Page 1: “Elise is currently my only friend. It’s not easy for me to make friends, especially female ones. They tend not to like me after I fuck their boyfriends”. Hahaha gee whiz, I knew I was in for something different when that was the opener 😅
One of my favourite things about this book, was that none of the characters are good people. They are all individually not characters I would be typically feel sympathetic towards. I actually loved that!
Basically, Abby and a Elisse break into what they think is a harmless house, only to discover a deadly game. The tension never lets up, the “truth or dare” format twists into something far more sinister, and the author keeps the plot moving with surprising turns and fresh threats.
The horror-thriller energy is strong, making it feel more like a fun cinematic escape than a quiet read. The characters are locked in a high-stakes scenario, the stakes ramp up quickly, and there’s a real “what next?” urgency that had me finish this in less than a day 🤣
