This 328 page, hardback book covers the entire history of the PS3. Of all of Sony’s consoles, the PS3 was the first and only time where it felt like PlayStation were on the ropes. It was never going to be easy to top the success of the PS2 (given that it was the best-selling console of all time) but Sony’s hubristic attitude entering the PS3 generation made matters worse and cost them goodwill at a time when they faced intense competition. Despite the initial setbacks, the PS3 was the home of some truly stellar and memorable games, such as the Uncharted series and The Last of Us, and it marked a period when Sony were innovating with new products and services, such as the PlayStation Network and PlayStation Home. This book explores the full history of the system and includes interviews with developers and retrospectives on the games that defined the console.
