First of all can we appreciate how beautiful this book's cover is!! Seriously I absolutely love it's design✨ I don't know why but it also always reminds me of one of the covers of The Color Purple by Alice Walker. It's just so simple yet soo pretty💖

Now coming onto the main part 'Colour me Red' is a poignant tale about an impossible love. This book revolves around our 26 year old protagonist Kaira, who's living with her drug addict parents and even in her poor circumstances she hasn't ever thought of leaving home. Her home is the only place she knows and imagine what happens when she miraculously wakes up one day to find herself in a completely different place. It's here at this place, she meets Manav.

Now you will have to pick up this book to find out what happens next but let me tell you one thing, This book combines sci-fi, romance and fantasy in a very beautiful manner. I love the slow-burn.

It's the perfect mix of emotional and humorous✨

“My childhood was remarked by the absence of toys and the presence of separation”.

The book “Colour me red” by V.S Amitesh is about Kaira who grew up in a very toxic household. The equation between her parents wasn’t really good and they both ended up getting into arguments most of the time, which bothered Kaira for obvious reasons. She was always upset about the fact that her parents weren’t really supportive and always had issues of their own.
But one night something mysterious happens with Kaira that changes her life forever. She mysteriously wakes up from sleep to find herself in an entirely new and strange place, where she meets Manav. Little did she know her encounter with this man named Manav was going to change her life entirely.
But the real question is how did she end up in that place? To find out you have to pick up this master piece .
This book is a perfect blend of sci-fi and romance.

Vivid descriptions made it feel like I was right there alongside the characters, experiencing everything they were going through. The author's writing style was engaging, and the pacing was perfect, keeping me hooked from beginning to end.

At the heart of the story are the two main characters, Kaira and Manav, who are beautifully developed and completely opposite to each other. Kaira, with her broken home and numerous problems, is searching for happiness, which she unexpectedly finds in Manav. Their relationship evolves in a completely unexpected way, leading to revelations that will both shatter Kaira's hopes and reshape her life.

"Colour Me Red" is not just a love story; it's a poignant tale about impossible love and the depths of human connection. Through Kaira's journey, the author delves into themes of identity, self-discovery, and the power of love to overcome even the most challenging circumstances.

Overall, "Colour Me Red" is a captivating read that will tug at your heartstrings and leave you pondering long after you've turned the final page.

You should definitely go for it .

"COLOUR ME RED" By V.S. Amitesh ❤️🌹

Book Review💌:- (5/5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐)

WOW!!! What a splendid read it was! I just can't stop thinking about this book, it was wonderful. I finished reading this today morning & I'm still thinking about, how I'll pour my words into it. This was something unique, which I won't be able to forget. I just want to say that, now this book will be my favourite forever.

So, the story is about a 26 year old girl name Kaira, who grows up in a very toxic family, she had a really tough life. Her parents are super neglectful & abusive, and it's heartbreaking to read about. But what makes her more amazing is how strong Kaira is, despite everything she's been through. I deeply resonated with her. It was like I was inside the book instead of her. The story takes a turn when one night, she goes to sleep and it changes everything for her, she wakes up in a totally different environment, she thinks she had been kidnapped but when she finds out it's way more beyond it.

Then she meets a guys named Manav who has a charming & sunshine personality. She thinks him to be the person who put her in this situation but it was way more of it, At first she was too insecure, she was not able to trust anyone including Manav but later it changed everything and together they tries to uncover their situation or the mystery. Manav is a kind of guy who you'd fall in love with, and Damn! Their chemistry!! I just love them so much. I won't give away too many spoilers, but let's just say that their story is full of surprises.

I loved how the author has woven together romance, mystery, and sci-fi elements, it was like nothing I'd ever read before, the twist came out of nowhere & the plot twist is Woahh, it shook me off. But it added a whole new layer of depth of the story. I was feeling a lot of emotions burning inside of me. I was ready to throw away the book but then it stopped me. I must say that, it was full of surprises.

And I also loved how the author has shown the portrayal of trauma, healing and the power of human connection. Kaira's journey is raw and emotional, and Manav's role in her life is both surprising and heartwarming. I also loved the character of Navya, everyone deserves a friend like her, Kaira & Navya were like sisters more than friends. The writing is engaging and effortless to read, making this a perfect choice for a quick but satisfying read.

Overall, I'm so glad that I read this book. The starting was a bit boring but after 30-40 pages it would hook you up to your seat. This unique piece of work would touch your heart and challenge your mind in a different manner. And if you want to find out more about their story, what happens with both of them later, then don't wait & pick this book up & start reading and trust me this book would become your next favourite read, thank me later :)

Happy Reading! 😄📖

There are some stories that make you feel, that linger , capturing your heart through their essence and words , transcripting it's feelings to the reader, connecting a reader to the world inside. Colour me red by V.S Amitesh is one such book.

There is a lot of anticipation and mystery in the story , making everything exciting and keeping the intrigue intact.

I loved the story's pace , Author has written it's characters well despite maintaining the suspense in everything. The depiction of parental issues is on point, story flows effortlessly while giving you excitement and heart warming moments.

Kaira , our main character ; the girl who bleeds through her heart silently without anyone knowing. Her character is relatable and portrays the feelings of a person with an abusive background pretty well.

Amidst everything , Manav ,the stranger that kaira kept bumping into. His character is healing and acts like a soothing balm to not just kaira but the readers who might relate to her. (GREEN FLAG MMC Y'ALL)

(Look at this quote -

“I want you to be happy, kaira. Never refuse yourself anymore chance of happiness. I've seen how much it deserves you, always craving to beautify you as a whole".

Beautiful, right? 😍)

I loved the friendships and drama in the plot. There are some massive twists , God that twist at the end almost broke me! One moment I was sobbing, the next those tears turned to tears of joy.

In conclusion, Colour me red is a beautiful blend of mystery, Romance, Sci-fi and healing of childhood scars. This is the kind of book that shatters your heart into pieces then put it back together with a cute bandage while coddling you in warm embrace.

📕 Colour Me Red by V. S. Amitesh

" My blood is red too. Do you think we should see what else we have in common ? "

Okay! Have you ever felt trapped in a life that wasn’t entirely yours? What would you do if you suddenly woke up in a place unknown, with no recollection of how you got there, and a stranger became your only lifeline?
It’s deep right? I know… the storyline as well.

The protagonist, Kaira, is a twenty-six-year-old woman whose life has been marred by the toxic influence of her drug-addicted parents. Despite their abuse, she clings to them, perhaps out of fear or habit, until fate intervenes. When Kaira finds herself in an unfamiliar place with no memory of how she got there, the reader is thrust into a whirlwind of emotions alongside her.

The narrative quickly introduces Manav, a mysterious figure who becomes her sole companion in this strange new world. Amitesh skillfully weaves a relationship between Kaira and Manav that is both unsettling and compelling. The dynamic between them keeps me guessing, as Kaira’s struggle to trust him mirrors our own doubts. Is Manav a savior or a threat?

The flow of the writing is really commendable. It is a fast paced story. I never felt bored and I have completed it in a single sitting. The language is lucid, any beginner can grasp it easily. I’m really impressed by the twist at the end of the story ; totally unexpected. The author’s ability to create an atmosphere of suspense and psychological tension makes the book hard to put down.

Here I would like to criticize one aspect of the book that the book has little bit of grammatical errors which are not much visible but as a debut novel of the author it is negligible.

Lastly, I would like to say that if you are looking for a romantic suspense novel with a flavour of si-fi , also making you reflect on the fragility of relationships and the quest for self-identity this title can cater your taste .

This is not typical sci-fi book and you will not guess it’s a sci-fi book till you have completed more than 50% of the book and the way you will get to know is so unique I mean I guessed the twist but the way it was discovered by the main characters is something different.
It is the story of Kaira who has been neglected by her parents her whole life. Her father is an alcoholic and her mother has big anger issues. She never knew what was her fault in all this but she was treated as unwanted by her own parents and wanted to get free from them and as far as possible.
Her parents always kept an eye on her every move even though she is 25 years old which makes her feel suffocated even in her own house. She is afraid of her parents and despised the restrictions on her life but she couldn’t do anything about herself even his father used to take her to her workplace every day.
One night she sleeps in her bed but wakes up in an entirely different place unknown to her which makes her panic. There she meets a boy, Manav who at first seems like the person who brought her here but as she gets to know him, she finds out that he was also as much surprised to see her there as she was.
They try to find a way back to her home but as the time goes on she finds it difficult to go back and then the revelations make her shocked about her life. The people she meets through Manav are the nicest people she met in her life as she never got her parents’ love and she care, she finds it in complete strangers.
Read the story and find if Kaira gets to go back to her home or not. This can make you forget that this is a sci-fi book and people like me who aren’t into this genre will fall in love with this book it is fast-paced which is the best part because the cliffhangers in the chapters’ end will make you read the next chapter as soon as possible.

This is my new favourite!!!

Kaira's story is a powerful exploration of the human spirit, tackling tough themes like trauma, recovery, and redemption with honesty and sensitivity. The author's writing is evocative and immersive, drawing me into Kaira's world and refusing to let me go.

The characters in this book are complex and multidimensional, with flaws and strengths that make them feel like real people. Kaira's journey is a rollercoaster of emotions, and I found myself rooting for her from the very beginning. The found family trope is expertly done, and the romance is sweet and tender.

I also appreciated the way the author wove together elements of sci-fi and mystery to create a truly unique reading experience. The plot is expertly paced, with twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat.

I was impressed by the cultural authenticity and nuance that the author brought to the story. The characters' experiences and emotions felt deeply relatable, and I appreciated the way the author explored themes of identity, culture, and belonging.

Overall, this book is a must-read for anyone looking for a story that will make them feel all the feels. It's a heart-wrenching and thought-provoking journey that will stay with me for a long time.

Highly Recommended for fans of character-driven fiction, sci-fi, mystery, and romance!

The author’s vivid descriptions immerse you in the setting, making it feel like you're right there with Kaira and Manav, experiencing every twist and turn.

The romance between Kaira and Manav is tender and beautifully developed, while the found family trope is executed with authenticity and warmth. The blend of sci-fi and mystery elements adds a unique touch, keeping you hooked as you unravel the secrets alongside Kaira.

This book had me making theories while I was reading it, be it “time travel” theories to “who’s the person she’s hanging out with” or “why is a particular author name being mentioned”.
The book follows the story of Kaira, a twenty-six-years-old staying with her drug-addict parents who treats her poorly. But, with an unexpected turn of fate, she mysteriously wakes up to find herself in a complete strange place with complete strangers.
In this strange place, she finds comfort and happiness with a mysterious guy named Manav and his friends who seems to be hiding something.

I really liked Kiara and Manav’s romance which was beautifully depicted, his attempts on flirting and their conversations that I soon find myself falling for him too.
Navya, a ball of sunshine and a foodie became one of my favourite characters instantly. I absolutely adored the whole “found family” trope and how they cared for each other. But mostly I really loved how the book tackles issues like trauma, self discovery and healing.

The only issue I had with the book was it felt that there were scenes that were left unanswered and I wish we had more scenes of Kiara and Manav at the end but I still liked how the book ended.
People who like reading sci-fi romance and time travel would really love this book.

What would you do if you woke up in a strange place with no idea of how you got there? That’s exactly what happens to Kaira, and from there, her story takes off in the most unexpected way.

Kaira’s pain and struggles so realistically that you feel every bit of her hurt. She’s been through so much, but still tries to hold herself together, which makes her incredibly relatable. Then there’s Manav..what a green-flag male lead! He feels like a safe place for Kaira, and their bond is so beautifully written. It was comforting to watch them heal together. The twists in the story had me hooked, especially one toward the end that left me in tears but also gave me hope. Handles themes of family trauma, friendship, and second chances in a heartfelt, honest way.

“You see the colour red only as danger?”
“I do now.”
“Then I’ll change its meaning for you.”

My heart melted reading this line. ❤️

This book talks about Kaira's story. She grew up in a toxic environment with her parents. It's truly heartbreaking that she couldn't find happiness or support at home. The unexpected turn occur, when she meets Manav, leading to new experiences and revelation that could change everything for her.

The relationship between Kaira and Manav sounds is full of unexpected twists and turns, with truths that could either shape Kaira's life forever or shatter it completely.

One of the best thing that I like about the book is the friendship between Kaira and Navya. It's heartwarming to see how Navya helps and takes care of Kaira throughout the story.

The suspense in "Colour Me Red" keep you glued to the pages from the very beginning to the end.  The combination of sci-fi and romance with a touch of suspense increase the beauty of the novel.

I really liked the mystery and the plot twist which made this book more than just an everyday romance. I felt sympathetic towards Kaira and it was so satisfying to see how she found hope in her new environment. I've read my fair share of debut authors but a lot of them seem to have very limited vocabulary, but Amitesh does introduce a good variety of words and phrases that show off his skill as an author.

However, I personally feel that the book somehow was hanging between the sci-fi and romance genre. It had the potential to explore sci-fi themes, which I was most interested in, but it fell short on that part as circumstances went unexplained. In my opinion, Suhana as an antagonist was an unnecessary addition and the whole love triangle theme is very overdone by writers in general.

Overall, a commendable debut work that could have done with better direction.

*Color Me Red* by VS Amitesh is a raw, unflinching unraveling of heartbreak-tender where it hurts, and sharp where it needs to be. The poems don't whisper; they bleed.

Each line feels like a memory you almost forgot, pulled back into the light with startling clarity. Red isn't just a color-it's every emotion you tried to hide, every wound you dressed in silence.

The writing is delicate yet devastating, capturing the chaos of love lost with stunning simplicity. It reads like someone writing their way out of the wreckage, stitching language into a lifeline.

There's no pretense here, only honesty—a kind of quiet bravery in saying what most of us only dare to think. *Color Me Red* doesn't just speak to the brokenhearted; it listens back.
It lingers. And long after you've closed the book, it stays with you-like the echo of a goodbye you never got to say.

This was an absolute bliss of a book that made me feel a lot of emotions, true to the genre of this book💕.

It’s a sci-fi mixed with a mystery story, with romance as a subplot, and trust me, this one is going to keep you on edge✨.

The story progresses with Kaira, who has abusive parents and desperately wants to escape that situation but mysteriously wakes up in a place she isn’t aware of!
It’s about where she ends up waking up and what happens next.

Mental health representation in this book is brilliantly portrayed, and we can actually feel the vulnerability of the FMC clearly!
The main highlight of the book is the emotions—it was such a feeling that makes our body shudder with each line!

The male lead, Manav, was such a cute contrast to Kaira’s character, and they just fit like a puzzle💕.
He was a person who feels like a warm blanket, and I felt like all Kaira—or even some readers who are going through similar situations—needed was a hug from him✨.

I sincerely felt really sad, not just because of the plot of the book, but because this book didn’t even get the recognition it deserved. Everyone sleeping on this one is missing out hugely…authors like Amitesh deserve all the appreciation for showcasing such an enjoyable read💕✨.

So, if you are into sci-fi, time travel, and romance with a reverse grumpy x sunshine opposites-attract trope, just pick this one up🫰💕.

It took me some time to finish this but it was worth it!!
I'll surely recommend this book and even more so if you're travelling, this one's going to be a perfect pick for those times!

If you're reading from quite a long time and have high experience of reading, this might feel tame but if you're a beginner, or somebody who prefer easy reads, you gonna enjoy this one✨️

Colour Me Red is a total blast! It's got everything: a kickass sci-fi plot, characters you'll root for, and a romance that'll make you swoon. Kaira's journey is wild, and Manav's got this mysterious vibe that keeps you guessing. The author doesn't shy away from the tough stuff, but it all comes together in a super satisfying way. Definitely recommend checking it out!

Oh my god! I can not express my feelings and happiness!!

The plot was something I not expected to be but the fun I had reading this book. The Desi feels I got while reading were the happiest moments!!
I could relate with Kiara at some moments. Their banter was everything>>>

Kaira is twenty-six-years-old and has never imagined staying or visiting places all by herself unless it’s her home. Her drug-addict parents treat her poorly yet she never wishes to leave their shadow. But, with an unexpected turn of fate, she mysteriously wakes up to find herself in a whole new place she has never been to before.

The dread of being lost makes Manav her only suspect whom she meets. And, as an entirely new relationship evolves, she fails to see what's coming. The truth will shatter her little hope of return. And, an unimagined truth about Manav which he is himself unaware of is either going to shape Kaira's life forever or shatter it to pieces.
