Yesterday Crumb #3

Magie all'ora del tè

Rate this book

Having finished the final instalment of the Yesterday Crumb trilogy, I can say that it is as magical and delightful as the others, and a truly satisfying ending to Yesterday’s story!

We are welcomed back into the company of our beloved residents of Dwimmerly End, and whisked on a rollercoaster ride of action, charm and oodles of tea, which unlocks more of the mystery behind Yesterday’s background (and we encounter some special new characters on the ride).

I would so love to attend one of the famous tea parties. With warm unicorn milk and brewed tea, cakes and cookies, it would be an ideal summer afternoon. And what about those attendees? From dryads and giants, to centaurs and spirits, the whole monsters’ compendium is assembled here with their own special personalities and fun characteristics!

Finally, without spoiling anything, this sentence really struck me, and it feels particularly pertinent at the moment: “The only way we’ll save the world is by setting things from each other’s points of view, for once.” How much confusion and misunderstanding could be avoided with some mindful mint witch-brew (aka a few moments seeing the world through another’s eyes)?

This concludes a perfect trilogy for middle grade readers about friendship and self-belief, one which really opens up the imagination thanks to Sagar’s delightful creations - I can’t wait to read what he writes next.

When I first discovered Yesterday Crumb I decided it was one of my favourite books, and then when the second came out it reaffirmed my opinion that it was out of this world. So I knew that the final, yes final book in this wonderful series was going to be just as good.
Yesterday Crumb is no ordinary girl .Yesterday Crumb is determined, brave and nearly ready to defeat a formidable Mr Weep, the Lord of the Dead. Reunited with her beloved Dwimmerly End - a magical, walking teashop - apprentice tea witch Yesterday and her friends begin to search for Mr Weep's weakness. Except the dark influence of a strange flower is taking hold of Yesterday's friends and allies, turning them cold-hearted and pitting them against each other. As the flower's effects spread further, Yesterday needs to save her friends and rally the magical world to overcome Mr Weep's dark reign...But there's nothing that can't be solved with a pot of tea, best friends and a BIG dash of magic!Praise for Yesterday Crumb and the Storm in a Crumb and the Storm in a Teacup is endlessly enchanting.

This book didn’t disappoint and it was everything I wanted in a book.
We were back with familiar and loved characters.
I loved the whole concept of this series with the walking teapot and in a country that swears by a nice cup of tea a story that promotes endless tea is a must. And Miss Dumpling surely must be one of the nicest characters ever. The introduction of the postmaster general was brilliant and sends the story in a new direction.
I’m really sad that this is the end for yesterday and her friends but I’m hopeful that Andy Sagar will be back with something as god as Yesterday Crumb.

As noted, my edition was the paperback, not kindle. As it was longer than listed, I couldn't update as I'd have liked to. Anyway, the short review:

Wow. What a series! What an end to the series! I may have gotten somewhat emotional in places. Though I'm well over the targeted age range for these books, I've enjoyed them all a lot, found family (my beloved) as a trope will never get old, and this was such a lovely journey in many ways. Including cake, obviously. I will definitely come back to Dwimmerly End in the future! <3

This series may be made for kids 8-12, but at 30, this has become one of my favourite series of all time. I absolutely LOVE the inclusion of a tea theme (I’m a teacup collector and tea lover so this warmed my heart) and the utter magic of this series is breathtaking. You really come to love the characters and Andy does an amazing job of bringing them to life. Aysha Kala who narrates the audiobooks is also INCREDIBLE in how perfectly she reads both the story and the characters. 10/10 can’t wait for book 4!!!! I hope Yesterday has many more adventures to come 🦊

Another excellent book in the Yesterday Crumb series. I am very sad this series has come to an end but thought the ending was very fitting. My only issue is I feel some of the plot points resolved very quickly and thought there would be more to them. But overall I enjoyed these

I’ve been in love with the series from the beginning and the final installment did not disappoint. Swift, action-packed and full of charm, magic, and hope. Miss Dumpling would be proud.

I am struggling to find the words for this book. I am sorry to see the trilogy finish! It was a world that brought me much comfort, annoyance and wonder. They have dipped into so many things; self worth, finding your own path, trusting in yourself, growth and acceptance as well as family both birth and adopted/chosen. The last one is most poignant in this book, family matters come to a head with threats to destroy the world, mothers hiding away, attacks on friends and family as well as so many new fantastical beings. It was another wonderful glimpse into Dwimberly End that I didn't want to leave... not just because of all the amazing tea. I hope that one day we can go back there for a small adventure to see how much has changed (hopefully it just kept getting better).

Yesterday Crumb and the Tea Witch's Secret was a satisfactory ending to a trilogy and since it was the final book it was slightly darker which I loved.

We find out a lot about Yesterday as a person and finally learn about her Mum and more about Mr Weep who is quite an interesting Character.

As for the secret mentioned in the title you really need to find out by reading the book.

For the above reasons Yesterday Crumb and the Tea Witch's Secret 4 Stars
