The Soulless Witch #2

The Powerless Witch

Rate this book
Great power comes from pain. But pain is powerless in the face of love.

Robbed of her power by a wound that not even the strongest witch can heal, Celeste is forced to make another dangerous bargain. She must venture into the Fae realm with nothing but the help of its enigmatic prince, where enemies lurk behind the lethal beauty of its court.

While Roman is trying to unravel the secrets around the mysterious hunter that almost stole his soul-bonded from him, his search takes a malicious turn as the revenants of his past come to haunt him, looking to fulfill a promise long overdue. Isaac’s own quest for truth propels him on a mission to unite the fractured supernatural community even as he grapples with the revelation that his hate and love now belong to the same woman.

Amidst the brewing chaos, a malevolent foe stirs, tightening an invisible snare around them all. To escape its deadly claws, they have only one choice: stand together and fight. For love, for family, and for each other.

But will that be enough?

THE POWERLESS WITCH is book 2 of the series. This is an adult reverse harem series that includes scenes of violence, coarse language, explicit sexual content, and more.

Absolutely loved reading this book! The plot was super engaging and I love almost all the characters! I loved the first book and I was happily surprised to fine this one was even better! I loved all the different POVs we got of all the characters and how they intermingled together. It definitely ends on a cliffhanger I wasn’t expecting so I’m definitely interested in finding out what happens next in the story! This is a why choose (although I definitely have a favorite) and gave me major TVD vibes which I happily did not mind! Received ARC

Received an ARC for this book.

It's a rollercoaster of a journey that delves into Celeste's past betrayal and dealings with current foes filled with several twists and unlikely allies. With just the right spice, the elements: betrayal, revenge, learning self worth, self love, and finally acceptance all in a world full of supernaturals; this is a book you can't pass on. I couldn't put it down and I can't wait for the next one. The world building and complex characters and relationships continue and expand in this new chapter of Celeste's tale. It keeps getting better and better.

We are back with Celeste and something that witch hunters did is preventing her from accessing her magic. Thankfully, Isaac marking her kept her alive. She is slowly getting better but needs the help of witches to be fully out of the woods. Celeste was not happy when she found out that Isaac had marked her. Now, she has to deal with two men that claimed her without her consent. Can a witch with no soul connect to two people?

Readers will get some of Celeste’s background and we see what led to her becoming who she is today. Mind blowing. That moment shaped how she feels about both Roman and Isaac. Isaac has a pack to look after. Celeste convinces him to take her to the Fae realm to see if she can get her magic back. Malakai, the Fae prince, makes a vow to help her. In the midst of all this, they are still fighting an unknown enemy. Not just Celeste, it seems all the supernaturals are getting attacked. Who is behind this? What is the purpose? Celeste also has to deal with being in pain because her magic is building up but doesn't not have an outlet.

The past is now effecting the future. Will Celeste, Roman and Isaac come together to defeat the enemy? We get updates on the Martens. Yes, Lilly is around. Readers will get a few surprise visitors. I really enjoyed this book. I am enjoying this series. I love Celeste, Isaac and Roman. I am wondering if we might add a Fae prince into the mix. I would not be mad at that.

I highly recommend the entire series, but this particular book stood out as the best. I found myself reading late into the night, experiencing a shiver down my spine—a sensation I'd never felt before while reading. Can't wait to read more works from this author.

I really liked the first book, but I LOVED this one! I just couldn’t get enough! I took me 3 days to read the first book just taking my time, but I just couldn’t put this one away.
I just found out about the novella and am reading it next.

I really liked that this one gave some more insight into her past/origin, surprises tossed in there for other characters, the action, and the spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️ is perfect (just the right amount and the book is not drowned with it). I need more of this story. Especially with how it ended!!!

I love cliffhangers….but only when I know there will be more….so please tell me there will be more and not too far off. 😅

The year is 2008. You’re 13 and arguing with your best friend about whether y’all are Team Edward or Team Jacob. Everything is right with the world. Flash forward to 2024, you’re 27 now and the Team Edward or Team Jacob argument is no longer valid, because enter J.S. Hart who presents a third option: TEAM BOTH - AND THEN SOME!

This is the sequel to “The Soulless Witch”. You do need to reach the first book before the second, or you’ll be totally lost!

I truly enjoyed this book! It’s filled with magic and fantastical creatures including fae, werewolves, vampires, witches, and demons. It features a strong and independent FMC that doesn’t need anyone, especially a man (or vampire, werewolf, or fae prince!), and yet, has each of these powerful men at her feet! Each of them help her realize her path and potential in their own ways, and each would do anything for her. I loved the character of Celeste, and enjoyed the different dynamics between her and the many MMC (my favorite being Malakai!). This book IS spicy!! The spice scenes are well written and add to the story in a great way, rather than being simply spice for the sake of spice. There’s also a good level of mystery to unravel and ends on a major cliffhanger that you don’t see coming!

The only reasons this book lost a star are:
1.) I do get very “Twilight” vibes (hence the beginning of this review lol), which, don’t get me wrong, I love Twilight! But it was a little hard for me to get past that comparison and picture something different until much farther into the book.
2.) This book is from the POV of 5+ characters. I enjoy multiple POVs in my books, but for me personally, that many POVs became a bit much. It didn’t detract from the book too much, but did take me a little more effort to stay focused and follow along.

Overall, I loved this book and am extremely bummed that I have to wait quite a while for the next one!

Side note: I also reached out to the author to share my love for the book and she was very lovely:)

Spoilers

Another really great book. I'm not going to lie, I expected an FMM, even a possible FMMM but now I'm thinking there are more? I'm not really sure since I Malaki kind of popper up a tad randomly. I do like all of the characters. I felt like they were all very unique though Malaki still seems a bit daft to me. At one point Malaki makes a comment
"Celeste accepted it with a nod, and I couldn’t help but notice her sniffing the contents before taking a big gulp. She still didn’t fully trust us, not even Myra and me. The thought saddened me more than the resigned look on her face."
It's like dude, she's been almost killed three times while in your care for a few days. One of those was poison in her tea. You can't blame a girl for being cautious.
I really appreciate the thoughtfulness and attention to detail throughout the book. Hunters have become over powered to the point of being damn near invincible depending on the squad they're in but I love that there are consequences as well. The fact that the author included this tidbit
"One of the most clever things the hunters had come up with—using their own bodies to create a barrier that allowed the witch magic to work against us. The only downside to this spell was that they lost all sense of touch—their body became a ward against vampires, but it no longer functioned the same as before. I doubted he’d even be able to tell if a knife sunk into him and he bled out."
I feel like a lot of authors don't include that level of detail and planning in their books and love that there's always a give and take to every perk/curse.
I'll happily read the third book but feel I'll become reluctant to continue if there are any more books after the third. The story is good but you can tell it's a back burner to the romance.

🌿The Powerless Witch🌿

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🌶️🌶️🌶️

I definitely can't wait for the third book, I had months waiting for this one and, I was not disappointed, the story had me hooked, I couldn't put it down, I loved it. If you like magic, witches, vampires, werewolves, Fae, and trope Why Choose you will love this book for sure. In the additional plot, you have a Multi-POV of several characters, everything is executed perfectly, and the additional magical world of intrigue, romance, smut, and the war that the whole story is based on, is a 10/10.

Celeste that character, growth is amazing every time I keep advancing in the story the more I like that character, she is loving, she thinks of others more than herself, her sacrifice, the pain she is going through, so many centuries and she is still fighting with the people who judge her before knowing her. And what to say about the love interests in this book, my god those men make you melt in front of them with all their qualities, each one of them is unique and they complement Celeste perfectly.

You must give these books a chance you really won't be disappointed, one of the best Romantasy I've had the opportunity to read. The smut scenes in this book were honestly WOW! The chemistry between each of the characters was exquisite. Not to mention the cliffhanger in which this book left me, I'm thinking about what to do with my life after reading it, the intrigue in this book doesn't let you put the book down for a single moment.

Thank you again for allowing me the opportunity to belong to your ARC Team for the second time. I am leaving my honest and voluntary opinion.

I cannot get enough of this series. My only complaint is that I have to patiently wait for the next one. This installment finds Isaac taking an unconscious Celeste to a coven to find help while Roman stays behind to find more answers. At the coven, Isaac finds something he has been looking for and Celeste wakes up, sans magic. The coven recommends she travel to the Fae realm as they may be able help her get her magic back. Of course, the fae has no love for Celeste other than Prince Malakai.

More mysteries are discovered and there are plenty of twists and turns. There are plenty of smexy times between Celeste and Malakai which makes me wonder if he is going to be a permanent part of her harem.

I love this author’s writing style. This world she has built is interesting, smexy, and has a lot of secrets. While I am still bummed that everyone always thinks the worst of Celeste. This woman has been through so much, I do love the characters in this story. So far Roman is still my favorite but Malakai is coming in a close second. I really want to like Isaac and I hope we get to see more of his personality other than his hatred of Celeste. They have quite the history and I hope “I am sorry” comes out of his mouth.

This does end on a cliffhanger. I am patiently waiting for the next book because I have a feeling it is going to be just as good as Books 1 and 2.

Book Review: The Powerless Witch (book 2)

My lord you had me from the very first page. Like the first page was steamy, THE FIRST PAGE! let’s just say this book kept me in it’s clutches. I kept telling myself 01 more chapter and then I would read 10 more. Also can we speak about the dedication she did!! It read "To those who were once betrayed by someone they loved. It’s their loss, ladies.
Remember that.” WOW WOW WOW

Let’s talk about the book though now. So this is book two in order to understand the characters and what’s really going on you need to read book 1 which is A Soulless Witch. There’s also twigged warnings you need to read just to know what you can handle because some stuff might pop up in the book that might not be for you.
If you like a bit of spice 🌶️ this one has it especially from the very first page but it’s more spicier than the first book. The action and adventure in this book is phenomenal just like the first book too! I will say this book is beautifully written and I can’t wait for the next book. I hope there is a next book just because you left it ending with a giant cliffhanger but it made me so excited for the potential of another book. Also I read this one way quicker than the first one but I also stayed up to keep reading, it had me hooked

The Powerless Witch.... Whatever I say or write about this book won't be enough! It's a masterpiece! Pure perfection! Celeste... The strong, fearless witch is now powerless... How can she regain / get her powers back? Will it be easy or challenging? Let's find out!

This book got me ADDICTED from chapter 1! Such a powerful and emotional beginning! No wonder why Celeste ended up with that bargain in the first place! The story is described perfectly, emotionally! I love the fact we get to read several POVS. I also, love the fact that we get to see a bit from Celeste's past. Phew! What an emotional ride! Prepare yourselves! Get ready to cry, laugh, get angry and frustrated, get HOT 🔥

I highly recommend this book!!! 5/5

I received an ARC for review, all opinions are my own and given freely.

This is the second book in the Soulless Witch Series and boy oh boy did I ever enjoy it. Book two picks up immediately where book one ended and takes us on a fast paced journey of the FMC Celeste working to get her powers back.

This book is a reverse harem and I loved that each of Celeste’s relationships with the MMC’s were both complicated and dynamic.(I loved me some Roman!😍)

I relished in the fact that Celeste continued to be an unapologetic morally grey FMC who took what she wanted and didn’t allow anyone to stand in her way. I also really loved the world building and enjoyed getting to know the characters on a deeper level in this book. I’m excited to see where J.S Hart takes the rest of the series.

Where to begin with this book… I just finished the last page and it’s left me wanting, no, NEEDING more!
This was a perfect second book (third including the novella) to a series as it included more characters into the story as it unfolded. Just when you think the romance couldn’t get ramped up a notch with Celeste already bonded to two strong males, (Roman, the swoon-worthy vampire and Isaac, the brooding werewolf) something more happens. I’ll leave it at that for now to not spoil anything for anyone.
There’s twists and turns in the plot that make it hard to put the book down, as well as great spice and paranormal madness.
Already eagerly awaiting the next book to come out so I can dive back into this supernatural world and find out what happens next!

The dedication is perfect! “To those who were once betrayed by someone they loved. It their loss, ladies. Remember that…”

This book is a 6 POV book: Celeste (witch), Isaac (werewolf), Roman (vampire), Samara (witch), Malakai (Fae), and Lily (human). This is book 2, and you will need to read book 1 to understand what is going on. I HIGHLY suggested reading TWs, there is a lot in it that has the potential to be triggering. I will say, this book is spicier than book 1, and has action as well! She has multiple mates, an obsessive vampire (Roman), and werewolf (Isaac). The book ended on a big cliffhanger, and I cannot wait for the third book to come out!

Book 1 (The Soulless Witch); book 2, even better! This book picked up right where the first left off. I really enjoyed the character development of all 3 MCs, as well as the introduction to more POVS. The twists and turns really added to the progression of the story, many things I didn't see coming! I really need to know more on Samara's story, as well as Matthias. The beginning of the book intertwined some back story of Celeste, which was a wonderful addition in understanding the present. The love triangle, chef's kiss, very well done! The different take on bonding and mates was well done. I am very much anticipating book 3, hope we don't have to wait long!

This series keeps getting better!
Such a great book! I loved the intricate storyline and the writing style of the author. I love how in this book you have gotten to the bottom of some unanswered questions from the first book but this one still leaves you with a few questions such as did beleth take her or was it Mathias? And what are Roman and Issac going to do? I now genuinely can't wait for book 3 I need more of Roman Issac and Celeste, without giving away too much I really enjoyed the time spent in the Fae realm and I do hope Alice gets her happy ending. Seriously guys you need to buy this book run don't walk and press the buy now button you won't regret it

The backstory and world building in this book, are thorough and intriguing build with magic, different types of fae and supernatural creatures. The sequel answered all the questions that were left after book one as well as filled me with more questions every twist and turn, I was more and more intrigued, and in over my head with this book, I absolutely could not put it down, it made me question everything that I knew about Celeste and her character. the plot thickens to a molasses and I honestly cannot wait for book number three.

Werewolves, vampires, & fae! Oh my! J.S. Hart really kicked it up a notch for this sequel to “The Soulless Witch”! The spice, the mystery, the connections, all were ramped up & I’m here for it!

“I don’t have a soul, puppy. I will not love you.”
“You will love me because I will give you every reason to.”

I literally can’t decide who’s my favorite of the MMCs & thankfully, neither I nor Celeste has to choose 😉

I received an ARC of this book but my review is my own & unbiased. I NEED the next book like now!

I enjoyed this book so much! The first one was great but this one added even more to the story. I love that this series has witches, vampires, werewolves and fae, such a great world building and character development.
Celeste finally chooses to accept love and not only from her vampire but also the werewolf and fae. Definitely more spice in this book and I’m here for it!
I also love all the adventures and action in this book, enemies coming together to fight a common enemy…The book ended on a cliffhanger and I cannot wait to read the next one!
If you love witches and other supernatural beings I recommend you read this book!

The not-so-evil witch Celeste is back on the hunt for her power!
It's a brilliant continuation of book 1! The different characters are cunningly shuffled together as the plot is slowly but steadily - and foremost excitedly! - unravelling. The author manages to navigate us through the story, adding details, foreshadowings and explanation while raising even more questions and throwing in some plot revelation bombs and a bit of humour for good measure. :)
I can't wait for book 3! I have so many theories and I need answers asap.

Wow! This is the example of how can you set the pace and expectations on the very first page and keep them scorching hot until the very last one. This book renders its readers immobile and doomed to endless scrolling knowing very well it will finish too soon, but happily galloping to their own demise cuz you just can't put it down! Plots and twists are amazing, characters each with his or her dilemmas and demons but navigating as best as their hearts can lead them. I loved every single bit of this book, and I really cannot wait for more!!! Keep it coming!!

I liked this even more than the first, and I really enjoyed that one! We find out all about Celeste's past and I really felt for her. For such a long life, she's suffered immensely.

In the present, nowhere is really safe for Celeste. She spends time in the Fae realm to recover, while Isaac and Roman handle other things, in their own parts of the world.

The different points of view in this book create a full picture of the world these characters live in - all the scheming, the lies and secrets and drama. I loved the little twists. I'm excited to see how everything plays out.

This was an emotional ride and I can't wait for book 3!

Wow. This book was so good. I couldn’t put it down. The plot was really original for this one too, characters were likable (most of the time) (Isaac 👀) and you couldn’t really tell what was going to happen next for a majority of the book. I enjoyed the banter between the FMC and basically everyone around her, and it was just really fun to read. The ending threw me for a damned loop I can tell you that. I look forward to the third book! I seriously have a dislike for the damned witches and that’s hard to do when a huge portion of books I read are witchling books! Cudos.

3⭐️ I like the story, the world building is good. But we didn’t need a Lily POV chapter, they could’ve added Roman to that convo and told it through his POV. Plus her “mate” situation was just dropped entirely. The Samara chapters were odd from a story telling perspective. I don’t like how our FMC is separated from her guys. And book 3 is shaping up to be the same. I want her to spend time WITH her harem. She felt like a background character for the first 1/2 of the book. This is definitely more Fantasy with a sprinkling of sexiness.

This is the second book in the series and I love it just as much as the first if not more! In the first book it's mainly about Celeste, Roman, and Issac but this one adds Samara and Malakai POV which adds more details into the story. I couldn't put this one down either. I loved it to much! With how it ends I can't wait for the next book! If you want to read about fantasy and mystery read this book!

Even though I find this book to be more predictable than the first one, I still managed to fall even more in love with every character in this book, and it was very hard to put down. Through flashbacks and trauma healing we got to know more about Celeste’s past, which added a lot of depth to her character. I’m also glad we got to see more of the Fae in this book, getting Malakai’s perspective was very refreshing. Can’t wait to see where the story goes next!

This book👏🏻 What a rollercoaster. I loved the fact that we got so much background info to understand the characters more. It definitely made them more wholesome. I really felt for the characters and their development. It’s definitely a deep going story not at all shallow. I don’t mind smut here and there but this was quite a little too much for my taste. But still enjoyable! Off to the next one in the series.

I wish there was more of her choosen family and more of her back store which was touch on. Overall it was good if she writes another book for the series I would read it juat because of how invested in the story i am .

The second book in the series. The detail in this book I can't even begin to describe. All the characters evolved well throughout. You get a deeper understanding of each person and how and why they are all intertwined. Glimpses from their past didn't stop the flow of the book and allowed a bigger insight in to the book.
