This was a nice sweet story! The heroine lost her husband who was a cop two years back and is single-handedly raising her eleven-year-old triplets. The hero is an incurable romantic with two marriages under his belt and after getting his heart kicked around doesn't intend to take the plunge again. He is a Texas Ranger who used to be the college roommate of the heroine's dead husband. The heroine's kids admire the hero and think he will make a perfect dad and husband for the heroine so write to the hero about a murder to get him to come to town. Of course they never intended on that becoming a reality when they come across an injured man and become the boys who cried wolf. The heroine is embarrassed when she learns what her boys did to get the hero to come but concerned too.

As things happen we learn the injured man is dead and is related to the drug runner plot from the previous book in this series. The h/H share this instant connection but the hero tries his level best to run away from it. I liked how the book showed that the heroine had a good marriage but yet was willing to love again. I liked the book, the romance & the mystery even though the hero does take his time to accept that he is totally gone over the heroine and her kids.
