“I actually don't think we have anything to talk about,” Will needs to shut this down and he needs to shut it down, now.
He stands up, mindlessly rummaging through one of his boxes. Maybe Mike would catch the way too obvious hint that Will would rather do anything, but talk with him.
“Okay,” Mike slowly shuffles his way into Will's room.
Oh, Jesus, no.
“Let me rephrase that. We’re going to talk, Will.”
And with that, Mike shuts his door and locks it. Will could feel his eyes going wide, his heartbeat quickening. Okay, so Mike hadn't caught the hint. How the hell does he get out of this?
This fic felt like I was reading 50 different one-shots, and it was amazing. I really enjoyed it, even though it had many grammar mistakes. The characters—especially in the beginning—did not fully align with their canon versions from the series. Will’s trauma was barely explored, but at the same time, I understand why. This was set in a different AU, where perhaps Will was more confident in himself and had managed to overcome that trauma. However, his trauma was mentioned a few times and then never brought up again. Mike’s character also fell off as the story progressed. Still, the story itself was sweet and warm, and that made it enjoyable. The smut was unbelievable, and it honestly felt like the only time Will’s character truly aligned with his canon behavior was when he pushed Mike away, believing he wasn’t good enough for him. Overall, the fic had many flaws, but it also had many beautiful scenes. I devoured it, even though there were some things I couldn’t get past.
