The End: The Book #1

The End: The Book

Rate this book
Hollywood has made its share of end-of-the-world movies over the years. The Bible has a story about that subject, and all the special effects in the world could not portray the horror and the terror of those days. THE END The Book: Part One is the 1st book to be released in the 7-part The End The Book Series that follows Jeffrey Ross and a group of senior citizen friends and ex-military as Islamists take their war to the Bible-Belt, and Atlanta suffers the first nuclear strike on U.S. soil. After a break in at CDC, the Spanish flu virus is released on the world, and millions die as the virus mutates. A hijacked nuclear submarine makes its way toward the United States, and Jeff begins to wonder if the end really is near.

I've read a lot of books and will admit to most of them being written by female authors only. I was very skeptical of this book because not only is it written by a man; parts of the book talk religions. Author J.L. Robb has changed my opinion completely towards books by men. I shall endeavour to buy and read more books by men thanks to him and this most excellent read.
I do have a faith but it's not something I often speak of because it bothers a lot of people. I was resilient to the fact that this book held information about religion and I thought that maybe the author would be using his book to preach but he DID NOT. This book was tastefully written with lots of information and a wonderful story as well.
I liked it so much that I am sharing the book with my brother.
This book was action packed, full of suspense and intrigue right from the beginning. It's an unbelievable read!
So far this year I have been asked often which book has been my favourite and so far I haven't been able to answer that because I enjoyed them all but I knew within a week the memory of it would be replaced with a new book.
With this book that won't happen, I will remember this book for years to come and because of that I can tell you honestly that this book is my favourite of the year.
It will take an amazing book to replace this one this year and I just don't think that will happen.

I will never forget this book!
I recommend this book to anyone! I couldn't get through it fast enough and I cannot wait for the next book! Cheers to the author who wrote it and thank you for telling such a riveting story!

Hi Everyone Anne here I have just finished reading The End Book 1 and let me tell you that this book is scary, exciting and mind numbing. If you like thrillers then this is a book for you. The author has weaved a story in like to Stephen Kings' The Stand, which I read and found just as scary.. Could these things really happen, can people really go this far, have we destroyed the earth to the point where it is literally going to fight back? This book took place in my home town, I grew up going to and playing at a lot of the places described is this book so the amazing detail described home to me, kind of made it all the more real. The book brings terrorism home to our own back yards and religion hits a hard note as the religions are pitting against each other and blaming each other for the reason things must be done. There will always be religious difference it's simply can we as a whole race find a comfortable place where each can be and strive without displeasing all the others. Who knows if this could ever be accomplished or if these reasons will surely destroy us all in The End. I have my own opinions as does everyone else in the world but this author and written an intriguing story to make you think about what you thought you knew, and I bet it changes your mind about how things happen and why.. It's a view into our apocalypse and the way we got there, do you think you can read this book and not dwell on it long after the back cover is closed? I don't think so. I give this book 5 out of 5 stars it's definitely a thinker grab your copy and see how our world fairs... Can't wait for Book 2.

Good but dated

The author unfortunately ties this book to the Mayan prophecy scare of 2012, making outdated by 2013. Good scenarios though.

The contents of this book, at the present time in history, is something everyone should read and have knowledge of. The writing style was not my favorite, but I could look past that for the information I learned. Onto the next book.

ARC for Review. This book caused my skin to crawl as I read it... I had to walk away a few times cause the world building was phenomenal, frightening, suspenseful, and mysterious! It brings to the forefront a really good look at the apocolyptic end of the world. The what-ifs are very realistic, the characters are likable and very believable, thrilling actions described and unfolding scenes, have me rethinking and asking myself, am I truely prepared for the end? I thought I was.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes an action-packed, thrilling, yet spiritual read.

Jerry Robb is an interesting man. He's written a series of books where he illustrates the book of Revelations from the bible. He felt that it was important to explain to people how things are going to go in the End Times, and he's done a fantastic job, with some help from the Lord (read his preface in the book). This is one that's written in a way that will appeal to the guys as well as women.
I agree with Jerry that it's important for everyone to hear and understand about Jesus our Savior and the life that he offers for us. It's life threatening. You can also say that testimonies like these will show non-believers how true it is once the rapture happens and they're looking for answers. You'll find many things in the headlines today.
I received a copy of this book free from the publisher. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.#TheEndtheBook

The End Book: Part One

Sometimes this was a slow read, however interesting. It seemed to take forever to read but some of the characters are very special and I’m caught up with what will happen to them next. An end times book with a fantastic ending! And we still have several books for the plot to thicken and develop. I look forward to the next book in the series: The End Book: Part Two

Could have been better.

Three stars because the story at times goes off on tangents not needed. I really did not need to know who built the motor home or who bought that company etc.
When he stayed with the story's main reason it was a good read and I will buy the next one.

Most Realistic I've Read!

Good plot line, realistic action; life as it really is. Almost prophetic for the way things are now...almost! Characters are 3 dimensional. Excellent writing. I definitely recommend this book!

1st book in the series ‘the end’, what a great read, fast, witty, full of prophetic events from the scriptures as well as eschatological studies in the context of a story. Very well done, historically accurate, and solid on biblical eschatology as well as Islamic

good read

For his first book he did a great job. He uses scripture to guide and help explain the story. Well worth reading. On to book two.

I was reluctant to begin reading this book though it had come highly recommended by a mutual friend of the author. My experience with self-published authors have not been good and I've become turned off by those "writers". Poor grammar, lack of or improper use of punctuation, and not investing in proper editing is only the half of it. A book is supposed to contain a story, but many "writers" are not able to do that and yet still publish their works.

So, I purchased this book for my Kindle, because I was going to be traveling. I thought I would give it a chance, to fulfill my promise to read it, and then I could move on to my accumulated library of classics and novels written by favorite authors. I did not expect to finish the book. I really didn't expect to get past a few chapters (when did I become such a book snob?!) It was with surprise that I wanted to read more and more; the majority of the book was finished in one day. I became really busy and couldn't finish the rest of it until a couple days later.

Why 4 stars and not 5? Well, it's a good story, a really good story. There were some transition blips, fast turns, in the book. That was slightly confusing and I'd have to turn back a page to try to figure out what had happened. Does it detract from the storyline? No. I'm excited to see what happens next - and yes, I'm going to purchase book 2. Besides, I have it on pretty good authority that the transition issues in book 1 are not repeated in book 2.

This book was worth the read and further, I love a book that motivates me to learn more and explore some of its theories or references. This book had me doing just that. It's my first "hidden gem" - a self-published book that is by an actual writer and storyteller.

Review:

"The End The Book: Part One" by J. L. Robb was some excellent
read. I was very skeptic about the title.... having some fiction,
non-fiction, even Bible quotes and verses(and this isn't over done
in any way). I was not able to put this novel done until the end!

I found that J. L. Robb was able to really work it for the readers....in that "The End" was frightening, amazing and even humorous all rolled up together.

You will be left wondering could these things really happen bringing terrorism to us in our own back yards and religion being pitted against one another.... leaving one to say only "WoW and then in "The
End" we all all destroyed? This novel was well written story that
will only make you think .... about the apocalypse and they way
we have gotten there. There was a lot of research in this novel that
gives us to to date events...along with the Bible being the guide and
you will receive a lot of food for thought. The main characters were
solid and the plot was simply great.

If you are in for a very well written novel with humor, thrills and even some imagination in a modern day approach with details then you
have come to the right place. I would definitely recommend "The End
The Book Part One" to you....so sit back and be ready for a great read
to truly enjoy!

The End Times is one of my favorite subjects. The End The Book is along the lines of The Left Behind series. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The characters were beautifully written. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

I love how J.L. Robb portrayed the main character, Jeff. Jeff is not a spiritual man, doesn't really believe anything in the Bible. Though after all the disasters and talking with the bartender about the events happening all around them, he is beginning to rethink his beliefs.

Yes, this book talks about God and biblical talk about the end times but J.L. Robb's story wasn't written as tool to preach the gospel. It is a great fiction novel with biblical prophesy woven in.

I would have given this a higher rating if it wasn't for the abrupt scene changes and shifting timelines. Also a lot of the prophetic signs don't seem to be given much importance and what should be earth shattering events are treated as though they are everyday occurrences. Very strange way to write an end times novel even if it is a fictional account.

I don't think I have ever hated a book so much in my life. Not only does the author contradict himself but he also changes his spelling for words half way through. Needless to say, I don't think I could ever read anything written by him again.
