In a world craving approval, confidence coach Ashley Henriott reveals that true confidence comes from living as the person God created you to be. Through her personal story and biblical wisdom, she helps you overcome fear, comparison, and inaction, empowering you to step boldly into the life God designed for you—full of strength and purpose.

Immediately, Ashley has a distinct grit to her words, and you soon understand why—she’s been through e v e r y t h i n g. Seriously, everything. So, who better to absorb your resilience and tenacity from? She’s done the deep work of knowing and living in her true identity amidst a broken upbringing, and whether you think you’re a confident person or not, her story will move you to be more.

I loved this story for the memoir and liked it for the tips. She’s got substance, and an important one: identity (it’s literally why all fall I’m speaking on identity in my young adults ministry- we need to know who we are and why). Though I don’t think it paints a comprehensive view of where we should gain our confidence, I picked up just enough fortitude to shift how I think about contentment, and I’m sure you will too.

I listened to two chapters, and her tone was filled with an encouraging spirit. I primarily read the ebook but recommend both formats—whichever you prefer for a mix of memoir-based self-help books.

Perfect for you if you like:
Faith-driven confidence
Authentic storytelling
Honest reflections
Stories of overcoming adversity

Confidence is an inside job

Where was this book when I was in my 20s? Even now that I’m a few decades older, this book still has relevance and real life application. But wonder where I’d be now if I read this book in my 20s. I love how the author breaks down the components and source of self confidence with personal stories and very applicable tidbits along the way, with the Bible as the foundation. That is the key. The author tackled many topics that were so applicable, including people pleasing, setting boundaries, showing up for yourself, walking in purpose, healthy relationships, affirmations, self awareness,

I also love how there are reflection questions that helped me to see areas where I needed to grow in my confidence. I have do much of this book highlighted. This is one of these books that I need and want to read again and again.

I had so many favorite quotes
“Confidence is living as the capable, wholehearted person God made you to be.”
“Most of the time, confidence doesn’t shout. It whispers.”

This book is an awesome resource! It's a book written for women by a woman. Even as a male there are many aspects that are beneficial for men. We can be better advocates and cheerleaders to remind women they are built for great things. The raw and honest vulnerability is inspiring and we should all live more that way. Life can get messy and hard from decisions we make, as well as actions that were taken on us. This book allows women to stand up for themselves and acknowledge that they are not made to be people pleasers. The book enforces that confidence and walking in the truth are who you are made to be. It will give you powerful questions and tools along the way to empower you in your journey to being confident. I will be recommending this book to my female clients who struggle with self-confidence.

Thank you to ashley.henriott and WaterBrook & Multnomah for allowing me an advanced copy of Confidence is an Inside Job, for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Be sure to put this on your list!

Ashley Henriott brings a refreshing, authentic voice to Confidence Is an Inside Job, sharing her own journey while encouraging readers to step into who God created them to be.

As a confidence coach, she doesn’t just talk the talk—she’s been through the struggles herself, and her methods come from real-life experience. The book feels like a genuine pep talk from a friend who’s cheering you on and sharing tools for building inner confidence.

Ashley’s realness, both in her social media presence and throughout this book, makes her message that much more powerful. A great read for anyone looking for a faith-based approach to self-confidence!

A big thanks to NetGalley, the author & publisher for allowing me to read this ARC for my honest review!

Confidence is An Inside Job has absolutely changed my life! Besides reading the Bible, this is probably the most transformative journey through a book that I’ve ever had. God has used this writing to help transform my life and my walk with Him.
