An inevitable battle. A ruthless Mage. Six Chosen Legends tasked with the impossible.
After witnessing the death of his friend, Michael is on the run from Black Opal. His only option is to find Ash and Flame, seek answers to the mark on his hand, and get to Base One, a safe place for Metas. But nothing works as planned. Not only is he framed for murder and becomes a wanted fugitive, but Flame has fallen into Opal’s clutches. Time is running out. Together with Ash, Michael sets off for Base One to find allies to rescue her. It’s not exactly a walk in the park, especially when the base doesn’t feel right. The atmosphere is too cheery, and the Metas’ plastered smiles feel forced. Who is friend? Who is foe? Something else looms on the horizon. It isn’t inside the base. Nor is it Black Opal. Thousands of light years away, a monster is heading straight for Earth—an ancient evil whose power exceeds anything humanity has ever witnessed. The fight for survival has only just begun. Bursting with action, Threads of Illusion is the second installment in the Chosen Legends, a young adult urban fantasy series. If you like supernatural encounters, dystopian worlds, and thrilling suspense, follow Michael’s journey in this story of friendship, identity, and flawed heroes.
AJ Dasher is the author of Chosen Legends, a YA superhero urban fantasy series that she's been writing since she was ten. She always loved reading stories and watching movies about people with powers in dystopian worlds.
Thus, Chosen Legends was born.
Sometimes, you might find her writing poetry or doodling on her homework. Other times, you'll find her typing her nonsensical ideas.
But there's one thing for sure—AJ can never stop creating.
Other than writing, AJ loves art and music. She plays flute and piano and sometimes sings. She paints in her free time and sometimes sketches stick figures of her characters.
AJ also has six other WIPs (works in progress) including a few short stories she's excited to share with everyone! Although her goals may not seem realistic, she is determined to put them out there. ♡

Threads of Illusion is book 2 in the Chosen Legends by A J Dasher and Kris Ruhler. Although this story is a fantasy, it is so much more. Threads of Illusion begins where book 1 ends which continues the story seamlessly. Michael is running from Black Opal who has Flame. I love the characters and I found the story so interesting that I couldn't put the book down. I thought that the authors ended the book, and I liked the ending, while they left the opening for book 3. I don't want to have to wait for the next adventure! I received an arc for free and am leaving my review voluntarily.
Once again this YA Urban Fantasy had me from the first page. Creating a great continuation of the adventure along with a few new characters to learn about. People will find Michael (the main character) relatable and his abilities unique as he explores things further.
The plot once again grips you with a superhero story blended with chosen one twisted in found family.
This is a great follow up to Rise of Legends and the story continues to follow Michaels adventures. In this book Michael meets more legends and together they learn that they must prepare to stand against a monster which threatens all of humanity and just to complicate things Michael is wanted by the police following being framed for murder. Its a great second instalment and I eagerly await the third.
Michael's story continues as he is framed for murder, attacked and prepare to save the world from a monster. Plenty of action, humour, deceit and danger. A good young adult, urban fantasy series. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily .

In “Threads of Illusion,” Michael finds himself once again navigating treacherous waters. With a new addition to his pack—a werewolf girl named Tempest—his situation remains precarious. Flame is captured, Ash is missing, and an evil organization lurks nearby, aided by a meta who can track his every move. Safety eludes him, and as the pieces fall into place, a more significant threat emerges. But why six Chosen Legends now, when the past always featured three?
Threads of Illusion” continues the thrilling saga of six Chosen Legends, each with unique abilities, as they face an inevitable battle against a ruthless Mage. The plot weaves together two perilous battles, and the characters’ teleportation abilities take us to diverse and captivating scenery. Fast-paced and action-packed, this sequel delivers on all fronts, leaving readers eagerly awaiting the next instalment. I really love this rollercoaster ride of magic, danger, and complex characters that will keep you turning the pages.
I was given this book complimentary from Book Sirens in e-book form in return for my honest review. Everything stated in this review is of my own opinion and I was not compensated monetarily for providing this review. Second book in the series (well, third if we are counting the 00 short novel) and the author is progressing the story along nicely. The story and characters are developing at a good pace, one minor comment would be is that things are tending to become a little too complicated hopefully this will smooth our in the #3. Hope we see more of Tempest in #3as I feel her straightforward uncluttered view of things gives a different perspective and will be interesting as the story unfolds. I was a little skeptical when the story started bat as I get used to the author's style I am really enjoying the story Solid 4 stars and recommended
This story was hard to get into at first. Maybe because I hadn't read the first book in the series first. But once I did I was engrossed. The plot is unusual for paranormal fantasy. It is more Sci-fi. The characters are flawed but loveable for a group of teenagers who are full of angst and anger and have had bad childhoods. All said, this is an intriguing plot and I recommend this book to everyone who loves the multiverse, Science fiction, and fantasy. And everyone who is willing to try this genre.
This continues the story of how Michael’s life is turned upside…where unimaginable forces and friendships come in and take over his life.
It is a cliffhanger story which I’m not usually up for but in this case it makes the reader long for the next instalment right away!! It’s fast paced and yet the emotions are there along with good development of the characters as they hone their new powers.
Very enjoyable! Look forward to book 3.
I received this as an advanced reader copy for free and this is my own opinion given voluntarily.
An explosive, action packed and fast paced sequel to the enthralling and immeasurably enjoyable Slivers of Memory, Threads of Illusion ticks all the boxes- complex characters with unique abilities, a plot with two very different yet perilous battles as well as diverse scenery by means of teleportation. I have thoroughly enjoyed both stories in the Chosen One universe and I cannot wait for the third instalment by this immensely talented author duo in the future.

‘Just accept who you are’ Some of us will never fit in with other people, no matter how hard we try or how good we are at masking. Save yourself a lot of angst and embrace the best you that you can be. The world needs your gifts…
Some sage advice from the authors: Trust your gut. Work with others to achieve goals for the common good.
Fave line: ‘Finish all ice cream’
Next for me is the newly released “Echoes of Zero”.
I want to preface this with the fact that I didn't read book 1. In no way was my enjoyment lessened! Yes, I missed the beginning of the story, but I caught on pretty easily. I really liked the concept of this book. The magic systems are really cool. The characters are interesting and pretty realistic. Overall, I thought this was a good read. Even though I do not like where it ended.
Book 2 in the Chosen Legends brings Michael to Base One where supposedly he and his Meta friends will be safe from Opal.
A nice follow up to book 1. The characters are beginning to blossom and Michael is slowly discovering exactly what his powers can do. Some suitably evil villains and an over arching big story line all add up to an enjoyable read
