Once again Sara has out done herself, she has written a captivating story, and as such, has created a rollercoaster of a series, as I experienced many emotions reading Timebound - Book 3 in her "blade of shadows" series.
Timebound takes place straight after the events of book 2. The Blade of Shadows series is an intricate and interconnected time travel saga that must be read in order to unravel the mysteries within. Its intricate plot twists and turns are mesmerizing and unpredictable, with every book bringing readers closer to a shocking conclusion.
Olivia learns more secrets from the past, and that pursuing the darkness isn’t the only danger she currently faces. She’s become a target for the Timehunters, a secret society that hunts and kills time travelers. Olivia and Roman are separated throughout time and are on their continued mission to defeat the darkness. Olivia and her peers, learn a great deal about their pasts of those around them and learn truths about themselves and this around them...
I felt whiplash as there were so many twist and turns and I was loving it! This series has quickly become a favourite of mine and I can't wait to dive deeper into!

Well, book 3, and I am still loving this man, Roman Alexander will forever have a place in my heart. He is so dreamy.
Okay, enough of that, this boom had me at the edge of my seat. Wow, so much happened in the pages of this one. I don't know if my heart can take the next one. But we will read it because now I need to know.

I have been a fan of Sara since her first book. This book, Timebound, blew my mind. The plot and character twists, I am still trying to absorb it. Once again, Ms. Samuels blew our mind as her readers. If you love history, romance, and science? This book is for you. I can’t wait for the next book!!

OH MY GOD! SUCH A GOOD BOOK!!!!
If you're going to read this book you will definitely need a seatbelt, a box of tissues, and make sure no one is asleep because this story will take you on a rollercoaster and give you whiplash in the best way possible! The story was beautifully written and really kind of time-traveled/teleported you into the book. The characters were developed beautifully, I loved that you could see the change in them as the series went on, I loved learning how they thought and how they all worked together to achieve one goal in the end *that still isn't finished but we're getting there lol*. Sara is such an amazing author from the way she crafts these wicked mysteries to the way she writes pure lust-filled smut scenes. I would definitely recommend this book and am looking forward to a re-red in the near future :)

Ugh, I really want to give this one a 5. This series has a great female lead, multiple POVs and worlds, a little bit of magic, spice, good plot/story, good character development, and a good variety of characters. Everything I want in a romantasy. I just can't get past the writing. It's childish and the dialogue seems immature. Lot's of grammar errors and typos. It's hard to get lost in the book when it sounds like it's written by a fourth grader.

This was the most amazing, heart-wrenching, & beautifully written continuation I have ever read! Timebound picks up pretty much exactly where we leave off at the end of Book 2. Emotions & stakes are high, and the action, twists, & turns start from page 1 & don’t stop until the very end. And the ending?! Jaw-dropping!
Olivia continues to be one of my favorite FMCs ever & I really still just want to wrap her up in a hug & protect her. She faces so much darkness, both new & old, & she’s such a strong character. I have really enjoyed seeing her growth as the series goes on, & she continues to be a survivor. I loved seeing the sisterly bond grow between her & Emily, & even loved seeing their bickering moments! You could definitely feel the sisterly vibes between the two of them. Roman, it was so hilarious at times to see him existing in the 21st century. I still love Roman & Olivia so much, their love is literally timeless & they have been through SO much, both together & apart.
Sara has created something so captivating with this series. I am so invested in this story & these characters & I seriously just loved everything about this book. As the series continues, Sara is giving us more and more with each book & I LOVE seeing this story & world unfold. It’s so intricate & pulls you in and doesn’t let go. I love the detail we get in this book & loved getting a deeper look into the characters & their backstories. Sara also has a really amazing way of writing characters that you just have no idea how to feel about! I’m so intrigued by a character I initially disliked very, VERY much, & I don’t know how to feel about it!
This book really delivers on all counts. It’s captivating & enthralling, & the plot & romance are just so beautifully melded together. I love the time travel aspect & am just blown away by how much more I love this series as the books come out. Overall, I cannot recommend this series enough! Sara is doing something really special with Olivia and Roman’s story & I just really want everyone to read it!🥹

Sara just keeps making this series better and better! Every book leaves me wanting more and so excited for the next installment. And each new book doesn’t disappoint. She has a talent for keeping readers at the edge of their seat as our MCs continue their journey and more and more is discovered. One would think the storyline would become stagnant or redundant, but Sara keeps it fresh, exciting, and intriguing.
Oliva continues to be her strong, fierce, resilient self that I fall more and more in love with every book. She faces so much, but never seems to even consider giving up. I want to reach through the book and wrap her in a big hug. She is someone that is inspiring. The bond between her sister and her is inspiring as well. I love their relationship as it is loving, but real with their sisterly bickering. Emily has been such an amazing support to her sister and I truly believe part of why she hasn’t crumbled under the pressure of it all.
Roman is as perfect as ever as well. The faith he has in Olivia is what people dream of for their partners. I loved how Sara wrote him experiencing the 21st century. He supports her unconditionally, allowing her to be herself and face things on her own. They love that Sara writes for these two really does transcend through time, which is perfect for them. There was a comic relief brought to the story with Roman experiencing the 21st century. I loved seeing him out of his element, experiencing all these things we take for granted.
As said before, Sara writes these stories with such passion, excitement, and heart. I enjoy every word I read and highly recommend this series. You must read them in order! The world building is amazing, the character development is top notch, and the plot line is beautifully braided to give readers suspense, romance, and twists that floor you. Sara is an author that will not disappoint you with the Blade of Shadows series!

ARC Review: Writing a review for a book with so many twists and turns in the middle of a series is so hard because I don’t want to give anything away that you won’t understand or may spoil things if you haven’t read the first two books.
In this 3rd book of the Blade of Shadows series, more secrets are revealed and more is explained about other characters in the book like Malik, Olivia’s mother, Marcellious and some others too. As Roman and Olivia are separated in different times, Roman is able to experience Olivia’s home timeline, the 21st century, which certainly had some funny moments since he had never experienced certain things that we may take for granted such as: tvs, phones, vehicles etc.
Olivia discovers that she is not only running from the darkness (in more ways than one) that chases her but now she has Timehunters hot on her trail too. Like as if poor Olivia needed any more challenges to overcome. We see more bonding between her and Emily, though Emily’s character still grates my nerves a bit. There is also more revealed and more pull for me to want to hear Balthazar’s story and hope he gets his own book soon!

What a roller coaster ride! When Sara Samuels says that her books are full of intense roller coaster rides, you better listen to her.
This is the third book in the Black and Shadows series, and as a reader, I noticed that with each book, the story becomes richer and richer. If you've read the previous books, you may know that in this book, Roman gets to experience the reality of the 21st century, which is hilarious. And it's not all; there are so many interesting, heartbreaking moments in this book that it will keep you on your toes. Particularly, you will be interested in Malik's character. You will love and hate this character at the same time; you will know what I am talking about when you read the book. As mentioned in the description of the book, you will learn more about Olivia's mother, and there are so many secrets hidden in the journal. Not only that, but I also got the experience of reading about timehunters, and let me tell you, you will not like them at all.
When it comes to Roman and Olivia, let me tell you, the book was worth waiting for because we get to see the progress in their relationship, the way they go through hardships and separation, and the way they find their way back to each other. This moment is particularly interesting.
Do not hesitate to read these books because they will keep you on your toes, especially if you like time-traveling stories that are full of secrets, and when you find each of them, you will be shocked.

The blend of time travel, emotional bonds, personal loss, and resilience is executed beautifully. The pacing is fast but never rushed, and the plot twists hit hard in all the right places.

I adored the plot and characters of this story from the first book as I was hooked from the first chapter in Timeborne and Darkness of Time!
While I love the way Sara writes and adds twists to the story (you seriously will not see the first and the last one coming!), I found the writing a bit inconsistent in this book.
Comparing the way I liked her writing in the first two books, I liked them because they were easy to follow and I adored the way she wrote her characters. And don’t get me wrong, I still love her characters, and the story was still easy to follow (her writing is perfect for first timers to the genre!), but this time I felt like there were some irregularities and inconsistencies in the thought processes of some of the characters, particularly Olivia.
I also thought that there were some redundant elements that were already explored previously, whether in the first book or in the second, that didn’t necessarily need to be added into this one again.
I was still however blown away by the book and hooked by the plot twists (I was also hooked by Eyan Malik because hello, Eyan Malik, duh) and that’s the reason it got a 4 from me, I seriously can’t wait to see what happens next!!

Like the first two books in this series, I purchased the audiobook and I cannot recommend this series enough! This author doesn't write a bad book!
This book is so full of twists and turns that I can't reveal much without spoiling something, but if you loved the first two books I suggest you buckle up and grab snacks because this book is a heck of a ride!
Like first two books, this one has time travel with ancient magic, historical settings, lots of drama including fight scenes and revenge plots, good versus evil, passionate romance, lots of spice, found family, adventure and so many plot twists!
Olivia and Sarah are still on the run from the demon who wants to eliminate them. A new character named Eyan Malik is introduced and he might be my book boyfriend of this series. Separated from their husbands, the women are depending on Malik to hide them and keep them safe.
We get to see Roman's reaction to Olivia's time in the 21st century, which was honestly adorable.
They eventually end up in 16th century Italy as they search for the blade that can kill the darkness and end this battle forever.
The way I gasped at the end!
I love this series, I love this author, and I love listening to these two talented narrators. This series is an autobuy for me. I'm so excited for the next book!

This book started with a twist to the series! How could one of our main characters be working for the bad guy this whole time? This book at a great job answering more questions we have on different characters who were part of the darkness. And we finally get to meet who the first darkness created. The last book kind of ends where our story hits rock bottom, but not before all hope seems lost we start to make our way back to the top. The sisters get help and Roman meets Moon Lee.
We get to see the relationship of the sisters, become stronger than ever, while learning about more secrets of the family. Roman joins us, and brings Tristan along with him, which seems to be a crucial character in the plot. It was kind of hilarious to find out that everybody is related somehow to each other. We’re surprise to learn the grandfather was a nobody that traveled with them. And hands up being the most powerful of all the bad guys? Oh, and grossly enough. We found out that Tristan and Olivia were actually brother and sister. Super gross!
The mom was alive the whole time?!

As others have said, spelling and grammar errors pretty frequently.
Sometimes the characters act shocked about something and I’m like wait, you literally already knew that.
Loved all the plot twists and the ending though!
One of the plot twists was annoying because in the same book he switched sides two times. Seemed forced/ should have been drawn out more.
Loved that we got to know Malik in this book.
It was annoying that she was like “I’m not a prude or anything” and then went on judging literally everything everyone else did. She started book one as a badass, but we didn’t get to see hardly any of that this time. It feels like she’s compromised her independence/feminism/ninja skills because of the time period or because of Roman?
Food is always being “popped” into their mouths and that bothered the heck out of me. We didn’t have any other way to describe eating food.
Apparently on their 5 month trek or whatever they never communicated because there are things he found out from someone else about her mom that she would have confided in him about in a real relationship.
People who are giving this series 4 or 5 stars need to read more books.

Bloody flipping heck! Oh my goodness gravy! We just keep coming back for more and Sara Samuels keeps knocking our blooming socks off and you know what? I am absolutely here for it. Totally invested but for crying out crikey, I don't know if I can cope with these cliffhangers! Sara Samuels has this wonderful skill of taking you at a screaming pace through epic twists and turns and then yeets you off into space and pulls you back in with a "what the fluffing heck is coming next?"
I have read all three books now and they are indelibly etched on my psyche. The Darkness, Malik, the Timehunters, could Olivia have any more challenges to her tenacity? Can she get back to Roman or will she be drawn away? I love the relationship development between Emily and Olivia, but I feel that there is something very, very big looming and I cannot flipping wait! These books are simply off the chain and I cannot get enough!

WOW, just WOW, I am utterly speechless. Sara has written another captivating instalment of the blade of shadows books with all of the twists and turns we have come to know and love from the first 2 books.
I can't tell you the number of times I had to put my Kindle down and say WTf! Literally from the first chapter. I WAS HOOKED.
The storyline is so good and engaging. There are so many things going on. The story continues from were book 2 ends, and the adventure begins straight away.
We get some answers to questions that were posed in books one and two, but we also end up with so many more questions.
Roman and Olivia have an absolute epic love, and it is demonstrated more and more as we get through the story. They are the definition of soulmates.
This series is an epic rollercoaster ride that dies stop. And can we just take a moment to acknowledge that ending.......... if that isn't a WTF moment, I dont know what is.
This series is just getting better and better, and I can't wait for more 🖤

Sara is tooooo good at this writing thing! Which is never a bad thing of course! I am so so glad I found this author and this series. Olivia continues to be the strong kickass fmc we all need and Roman is her fierce protector struggling to accept that she is a warrior in her own right. We can't blame him right? I mean they have been through some STUFF and he wants it over as bad as she does.
I most enjoy also getting Emily and Marcelius's story within the series as well, even though Emily was grinding on my nerves a little bit she is allowed some grace after the absolute shit storm that became her life after meeting our time traveling trio.
I will even say Mr. Balthzar getting more limelight has satisfied the darker reader in me and I want him to have his own story! I need to know more about this complicated darkness creature.
All that to say this was beautiful storm of disaster and some happiness and you definitley need to start the series yesterday!

I am truly invested in this series and still LOVE it through book 3. Timebound starts right where Darkness of Time left off. If you have made it this far in the series, I don’t consider this a spoiler. I have adopted a “no funeral / no death” policy. So, if someone isn’t specifically buried in the book, I am not writing them off yet! Also, I only trust a very small number of characters at this point. Sara’s plot twists and surprises keep coming! If you have fallen in love with the characters, the settings, the history and world building as much as I have, then you are going to love book 3. Sara keeps developing the characters, new and old. This woman does her research on each time period. It is so easy to visualize the world she creates. There is no slump, the world keeps moving, the surprises keep coming. Balthazar keeps causing trouble. I am ready to read the next one!

I am so lucky to call Sara a friend because I have witnessed her writing take off and flourish gracefully. She’s truly a storyteller and a talented one at that. 🖤
This story took us through time and led us on a journey from the present to Ancient Rome to the Americas to the 1800s. It was incredible and I can only imagine the amount of research that went into portraying those times.
There were so many twists, I kept gasping and patting myself on the back for the ones I did see coming (which weren’t as many because let’s be serious, I couldn’t keep up with Sara’s mind).
This book had it all. A redemption arc. Some new secrets coming out along with some hard truths. Betrayal. Friendship. History. Romance. Grief.
It was everything.

Where do I even start with that ending! 🤯 I love how beautifully Sara writes this series and book 3 is no exception. There is so much information in Timebound with countless plot twists and so much information without feeling like it's just a bunch of information being dumped you. It feels long, but in a good way with so much happening.
Roman jumps ahead 8 months from the time Olivia left her time in the future. Olivia is stuck behind with her sister. As each of them fight for a way to find each other again, they both uncover more secrets revealing more than they thought possible.
Expect the unexpected. Prepare for the rollercoaster ride as the truth unfolds for both Roman and Olivia. Everything they thought they knew is about to change. Right when I thought Sara couldn't surprise me any more, she drops one heck of a cliffhanger at the end.
I'm not sure if I'm ready for Timehunters. So many unanswered questions now and so many twists that are still coming.

An emotional rollercoaster from start to finish!!!
The third book in this series hit me right from the first chapter—what just happened?! I was immediately swept up in a whirlwind of emotions. One of the highlights for me was the addition of multiple character POVs, which brought so much depth and nuance to the story as it evolved.
The introduction of the Timebounds was a brilliant touch, adding an intriguing new layer to the world. I couldn’t help but laugh at how certain random history facts came in handy as the characters traveled to different times and places—definitely a fun surprise for history buffs!
While the twist at the end left me absolutely stunned (seriously, how did I not see that coming?), I’m still processing it. It’s one of those endings that makes you rethink everything, and I’m excited to see where the story goes next. Of course, it ends on another cliffhanger, but luckily, the fourth book is just around the corner!

i’ve been waiting for this book since finishing Darkness of Time and it picks up right where book two ends. This series has become one of my favorites and each installment is better than the next.
The Blade of Shadows series is an interconnected time travel series with romance, plot twists and characters that you’ll fall in love with. Olivia is one of my favorite FMC and while I may not personally relate to her, she is so much fun to read and I love being in her head and reading her journey. And her relationship with Roman continues to get deeper as the series continues.
This is book 3 in the series and must be read in order! I highly recommend picking up this series if you love time travel, romance, history, mystery and a bad ass FMC. I can’t wait to see where the next book brings us!!! Releases 3/12 🩵🩵

Sara is THE BEST plot twist writer! Each book just impresses me more and more!
This is hands down my FAVORITE book in the series so far. There is a lot revealed and also more questions 😂
The character development in all of the characters is phenomenal. The found family aspect is wonderful and you fall in love with them all.
Sara’s writing will keep you on the edge of your seat flipping through pages SO fast trying to find out what happens next.
I loved Malik in this book. He has become a favorite of mine. You learn his backstory in this book and it brought all the feels!!!
I’m a forever fan of Sara and her writing and I am so excited to see what is next to come in this series! She constantly has e guessing!

From the beginning quote ... 'The twists within these pages, will change you forever' you are thrown straight back to Oliva and Roman facing the consequences from Book 2 'Darkness of Time' ... and the twist just keep coming!!
Total rollercoster manoevring through the plot point... just when you think you have it all figured out... someone changes the narrative.
Totally addictive! Sara has a great way with words, leaving little easter eggs throughout all 3 books, leading us on a journey to find the truth. Absolutely loved it! Love the series!! And I can't wait for the next installment of Blade of Shadows!

Wow, time has went by so fast! I cannot believe that we are already at book 3 into the book series and I am so proud of Sara 💞. This book had a mysterious and serious aspect to it which made my heart race. When Roman and Olivia are in different timelines, I swear I had anxiety the whole time I was reading this book😭. Roman and Olivia's relationship develop to the next level and it's so worth and those who love a developmental type of romance with great story plot depth with a timeline trope, this one is for you!

I have been not so patiently awaiting this 3rd book in the Blade of Shadows series. Sara you knocked this one out of the ball park for sure. I have been a huge fan of this series from the beginning and it just keeps getting better.
I am not a fan of books where I know what is going to happen before I even get close to the end. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat the whole way through and just when you think you have it all figured out bam the roller coaster flips you upside down and shoots you in a whole new direction. I love how much we learn about the characters in this book as well as meeting the new characters. So excited for the next book in the series. THIS SERIES IS THE SERIES!!! I stumbled upon these book off of TikTok the other day and boy am I glad I did! This series has been a roller coaster, I’m in tears, I’m laughing, I’m furious and bam I’m excited all over again. And that ending. THAT ending, I kind of guessed early on that it could be possible then I was like nah nothing has hinted towards that…. But I was RIGHT, and now I have to wait to hear what happened why/ how, I’m practically foaming at the mouth with anticipation.
The spice is spicy, the family is coming together, the heartbreak is heartbreaking, overall 10/10 I’m getting these books in hardcopy since they are personally my vibe and 5 star reads and the covers are GORGEOUS.

This book - and the entire series - is a must read for everyone who loves time travelling or/and fantasy.
The twists and turns of this book are sooo many and so great!
You never know who is good and who is evil - and who is who actually. So many people in this one are not what they seem and that keeps the mystery and excitement alive throughout the entire book.
This book is very well written and the plot is thorough thought out. The characters go through a lot of development and it's so interesting when they are put through challenges that they can't just easily fix because they're in another time than the modern times and do not have access to medicine, moderne vehicles and so on.
I couldn't put this book down and I'm going straight to book 4 right away!
