Genre: Crime, Thriller
The narrative started off slow, but picked momentum as the book progressed.
The tension and suspense built by the author through out the book. While you are reading you may find some chapters irrelevant, but that are beautifully connected in the end. What was shocking for me is the ending, I didn't expect it at all.
The writing and story building is quite skill full, it's easy to read, descriptive but engaging. I couldn't put the book down after it hit the 25% mark,
and finished it in a sitting.
If you want to start a thriller and want to go in light, this book would be perfect for you.I am new to this genre, yet find this book captivating.

I have sidelined reading thrillers, crime, and related genres ever since my focus was on psychological thrillers. It's not easy to write mystery. You need to be the best and keep your readers hooked from the beginning, not just in the climax.
In this book, the main theme was serial killing in the same manner. The plot was extremely intense and intriguing. The suspense was created when Shivika's gang rape, which happened a few years ago, came into picture.
The title is just apt to the story - 'An uncaught criminal'. That's the beauty of crime thrillers- you just aren't satisfied to put your book down until you complete. This book in particular is beginner friendly and is a quick page turner. It also made me look back and think about our judicial system. If things were right, would have there been a problem?

"The delivery process for justice sometimes begins with a crime."
Avinash, an officer at Delhi police is assigned with a brutal murder case of a straight forward senior officer who was soon to be retired from the force. The dead body was found hanging in a public place. Avinash along with his team of junior cops, begins the investigation. Later they realises that its not an isolated murder and is part of a web of serial killings of cops.
Two officers from Punjab police had been murdered previously. And during their investigation period one more murder happens. All victims are strangulated to death and hanged. A picture of lady justice is stamped in the neck of each victim. They decides to speed up their process to prevent any further damage.
Along with the help of Rakshit, a psychologist they try to unveil the suspense and a closed case of rape and murder of a girl named Shivika from some 14 years ago pop up out of nowhere. According to their assumption the murderer have a link with the case and so they are now forced to reopen a case that is considered as a justice properly delivered one.
How did a case from 14 years ago related to the serial killings of police men from Delhi and Punjab? Will Avinash and his team be able to find the real culprit or will he remain as "an uncaught criminal"?

✨ The story was mostly predictable but not completely.
✨ The narration was quite gripping that it made me curious to read it fully.
✨ Even if there were predictable portions the arrangement of twist and turns were in such a way that what we predicted won't happen in the exact portion were we predicted it to be. That was a real guessing game.
✨ The minute pointers towards random characters were good. Like the cops it also diverted me from my previous assumptions and made the reading experience an interesting and engaging one.
✨ It is also a reminder to our judicial system and their legal proceedings to be more effective and also to media people to be sensible more than rushing behind breaking news.
✨ The political are of the novel was really convincing and it truly mirrored our contemporary political leaders and allied parties or unions.

The nation is shocked when a cop's corpse is found hanging on a tree at a crossroad in Delhi. This was a clear murder and there are more that follow it, all police officers. The only clue the investigating officers have is a symbol on the deceased cop's neck. The symbol of Lady Justice on their neck. With no other clue, the current police officer, Avinash, has reached a dead end. However, he comes across another case in which the deceased officers solved 16 years ago. This was a of a girl named Shivika who was brutally raped. Were these two cases connected and how? The search for the cop killer takes a new turn.
This is a well written crime thriller. The author puts across a solid story in this suspense filled book. It talks about two separate crimes and the connection between them. The book focuses not only on the stories but also talks about the different issues that any country may face with respect to corrupt politics or law. At the same time, proves that there are people who are true to their work and will always work towards the path of truth and righteousness.
The characters are well thought of. Every character has a crucial role to play and it is interesting to read and analyse them as you keep reading to see if one can find the real criminal. The book is a definite page turner and will keep you hooked till the very end. Though I was able to guess who the uncaught criminal was right before it was disclosed, I still read with my jaw dropped! Not once through my reading process did the book bore me in any way. In fact, when I didn't read, I would think of what is going to happen next.
I believe that this story is compelling in a way that it does have potential to reach our screens! I would be excited to see if that ever happened

The police investigation team led by Inspector Avinash starts digging up information about the officers and their past, which leads them to another case closed years ago. The connection between the two is what makes the story.
This is a cleverly written crime thriller which seems to draw inspiration from real crime stories. The story has different characters with specific personalities aptly defined by the author. The central character is Inspector Avinash , an honest police officer who puts his duty before his personal life. He is a hard working officer who has yet to receive his dues. During the investigation , he comes across various characters who get some background stories which fit perfectly together.
The story of character Ameek who is a singer and a celebrity has been written quite impressively and the build up to his secret is intriguing. The reveal of the old case and the connection between the two has been explained well making you root for the unlawful manner adopted by the killer.
The mystery is well woven and one cannot guess the killer till the very end. The only weak point was the explanation of the killings of the officers which was not discussed much.
The language used is simple and colloquial which makes the characters realistic. One can really feel the pain and disgust for them at different places.
All in all , this is a read which will keep you hooked. You cannot put it down after you start.

After a long time I'm reading this genre. I read very few crime thrillers but when you ask who is your favourite author in crime thriller i would say "Lee Child". Let me share about my muse about this book.

Upon their investigation, they found serial killing was based out of link with gang rape case of shivika and suspects famous singer Ameek might be involved in all this murders. Ameek to had his own secrecy of his identity and that secrecy perhaps lead to his downfall.
Did they proved Ameek as the murder? Why the victims are linked with shivika case? Who is the criminal of this serious killing? Did police caught them?is the rest of story.
🥏 I would say that narration was very crystal and story pace was so fluid.
🥏 The plot was well structured that provides reader to guess in multiple aspects.
🥏 The story was more or like what you have seen in movies yet I would appreciate the authors effort of writing to move the story in compelling way.

Hands down to a great crime thriller I read of an Indian author this year, the plot and characters were on point but I didn't like the writing style. I loved the way the author kept revealing the suspense slowly, it was predictable but the cat and mouse chase was topnotch, only for the mouse to never be caught. Yes, just like the title of the book, the criminal was smart and determined for it's loved one for justice to be served, and they never got caught. We do get to know the killer, and the ending was deserving. Must read!

The narrative captivates readers from beginning to conclusion by fusing mystery and lots of suspense. The author's ability to build tension is commendable, creating an atmosphere of palpable suspense that lingers throughout the narrative. Each chapter reveals new layers of the mystery, keeping readers guessing until the final pages full of suspense, mysterious and captivating.
The characters of the story are too on the point . The words are enough to make them look as real as possible , including even the basic features.
Lengthy, quite descriptive yet engaging with the smooth display of all events.
I was captivated by the book right away and couldn't stop flipping through the pages. The prose is exciting and well-written. Thanks to the author's skillful story-building.
Highly recommended for fans of the genre, this book is a crime thriller mystery fiction. It will be a terrific choice! 😍

The author's ability to build tension is commendable, creating an atmosphere of palpable suspense that lingers throughout the narrative. Each chapter reveals new layers of the mystery, keeping readers guessing until the final pages full of suspense, mysterious and captivating.
The characters of the story are too on the point . The words are enough to make them look as real as possible , including even the basic features.
Lengthy, quite descriptive yet engaging with the smooth display of all events.
I was captivated by the book right away and couldn't stop flipping through the pages. The prose is exciting and well-written. Thanks to the author's skillful story-building.
Highly recommended for fans of the genre, this book is a crime thriller mystery fiction. It will be a terrific choice! 😍

✨ By looking at the cover, I was really interguing with the title more because how is it possible for a criminal to not be caught ever?
✨ The book revolves around a Delhi officer, a reputed one found dead hanging at a crossroads in the national capital in front of the whole public, giving a threat message not to the public and raising questions about the capability of the police.
✨ Pressure is being imposed on ministers and on inspector Avinash to solve the case as fast as possible, but at the same time they are not able to get any clue about this culprit, finding dead ends again and again.
✨ But as they dig deeper, some old haunting truths are being uncovered. But how are those truths connected to the murders of these police officers?
Without spoiling much, I was mind-blown by the ending of the book.

Such a thriller read! ❤️ I couldn't put the book down, the plots were really interesting, making it a compelling read. The twisted plot was truly unimaginable.
Avinash and Arif investigate the case when a police officer was brutally killed. The case unfolds, revealing multiple twists that make it hard for them to decipher. Rakshit, a psychiatrist, comes to their help and provides support in solving the case.
The story incorporates all the characters and their perspectives, allowing readers to easily immerse themselves. I initially suspected someone was killing people, but the ending surprised me. I didn't expect the killer to reveal himself. The story unfolds gradually, providing justice to the victims.
I liked the way the author named the characters with the same first alphabet based on the plots when he introduced them in the book. When I made the connection, it was brilliant. I was so caught up in the book that I carried it with me on the bus while traveling to the office, and it caught the attention of some other readers. They were so intrigued by it that they even took pictures of the book because it was interesting.

I read the book within 2 days and enjoyed my time reading it. The cover and title of the book was quite intriguing for me to start this mystery thriller and I don't regret picking it up.
I especially loved the beginning of story, it will definitely grip you till the end and the revelation of real killer at the end of the book was unexpected. It's a short book probably a one-time read. The story is compelling and I would love to see if it ever turned into a movie.
The writing was good, the mystery in the book was also captivating. The narration of the story was simple and understandable and the pace of story was also good neither too fast nor too slow just perfect fluid pace.
The plot line was fantastic( although I guessed who the serial killer is by halfway through the book, but that was only half plot twist of the book, the other half was totally unexpected). I thoroughly enjoyed the story line and the suspense of how the police is going to solve the mystery.
I would definitely recommend this mystery thriller to the beginner and those who seek a mystery story which is perfect paced with clear and simple narration which also resembles the bollywood mystery movies.

The book is in simple English language, which makes it relevant for beginners too. The plot, the characters, and the linkage between different storylines are exciting to read. I love how in the midst of all the crimes and tension author Rihan gave a personal life touch to the cop Avinash. I also enjoyed reading all the backstories of the characters.
My only complaint is the sequence of storytelling. There was one interaction in the first quarter of the book that gave away the ending. The thrill and uncertainty were missing.
Overall, it is a great read if you are looking for something light in this genre. I finished it in two days. I felt like watching a Bollywood movie - a good one of course.

A case that shook the entire nation is again in the news because of new cases where policemen are punished. The cases are entangled and there is no clue as to why the policemen are murdered. Inspector Avinash and his colleague Arif are doing their best to track the serial killer but it's so twisted that they are revolving in circles. With so many high-profile characters' involvement is making it more difficult. No clue as to how the police are going to solve this case.
Clean and clear writing will capture your attention and the flow will keep your excitement intact. The twists were planned at a perfect space and perfect timing. I loved the plot as it has all the elements a thriller should have to capture readers' hearts.
Definitely a good addition to my thriller collection.

Inspector Avinash and his associate Arif dig deeper and find some serious facts which correlates the murders with a case in the past. The author presents before us the nexus between crime, politics and media as the plot goes on. He also questions the validity of the system of encounters and the ensuing complications through the plot line. There is a nuanced portrayal of the characters as the storyline keeps us engrossed throughout the process.

Every character in this book has played a very significant role. The author had skilfully tried showing how a few wrong people, dance to the tunes of power not bothering about the consequences. We also get a sneek peek in into life of a police man.all in all its an enjoyable read.

After a long time I’m reading this genre and I enjoyed it. This is a well written crime thriller. The story was mostly predictable but not completely and you still read till the end as narration was quite gripping. The book talks about two separate crimes and the connection between them. It focuses not only on the stories but also talks about the different issues that any country may face with respect to corrupt politics or law.
The writing was simple yet captivating. It falls short when compared to great works like Sherlock Holmes and Agatha Christie but it was so nice to read such thriller by an Indian author . It is a usual investigative fiction and a good pick for thriller lovers and especially for beginners who want to try out this genre.

This book is perfect for someone who just started reading and is just introduced to books. It's an investigation thriller. You might have guessed it by the title itself!! The start was all good and made me curious. But towards the end it was the cliche climax. I actually guessed the culprit. There have been many movies related to this genre and maybe that's why it wasn't all that exciting to me.

This book takes you through a dark world of unsolved crimes, haunted past and political intrigue. It starts off a bit slow, with some parts feeling out of context, but stick with it! The second half is totally worth it - filled with captivating twists and turns.
One part that really shook me was the depiction of rape. I have to say, out of all crimes, rape disgusts me the most. It’s infuriating and heartbreaking to read about such heinous acts. My rage towards rapiers and the pain they cause knows no bounds. This element of the plot was intense and added a raw, emotional depth to the story.
I was constantly guessing between Ameek and Rakshit, unsure who the real antagonist was. The suspense was real! Without spoiling too much, I’ll say that our antagonist remaining uncaught adds an appreciated twist, and justice does prevail in the end. If you’re into dark, suspenseful thrillers, this is a must-read.

The plot is intriguing as it starts with the murder of a senior police inspector. Each character has been given a good back story. The book also sheds light on the common enemy - corruption. A very well crafted tale full of unexpected twists. A good thriller you should try out.

The story starts with the murder of a cop who was hanged mysteriously on the tree at the crossroads in Delhi. No one knows how he hung there, and there were no clues left behind with him.
Avinash was the police officer who was investigating the case. Since there were no clues, they couldn't proceed with the case and were trying their best to solve it by searching for the cop's last location, who he was with before he died, and all that.
While they were at that, there was another murder in the city, which was also a police officer. The murders were continuing, and the police couldn't do anything as there were no clues as to how they were happening, why they happened, who was behind all these murders, etc.
Finally, Avinash and other police officers tried to get help from someone who might know all about these murders, and while they were at it, they got a lead from another case that involved all the police officers who were dead so far. They have a lead, but they will protect whom now that all the police officers are dead? And whether they were able to catch the criminal? is the rest of the story.
