There Is No HOW: Prescriptions, methods, hacks, and techniques destroy humans. And their outcomes.

Rate this book
The human has been conditioned to believe that if he performs various prescribed methods, hacks, and techniques, that he will reach his goal.

This conditioned belief pervades everything he does.

As a result of this conditioned belief, his life becomes an endless, fruitless chase.

As long as he subscribes to this flawed belief, this is all a man’s life can ever be.

This is the most expensive Kindle book I've ever bought. And yet I would have gladly paid double for it.

In a series of succinct conversations between an unnamed Master and a student they discuss prescriptions.

What are prescriptions?

They are other peoples' wisdom. They are advice. They are rules to live by. They are how-to's and such.

Prescriptions are ineffective because they are missing the real driver of results, our 'inner stance' in parlance of Straight Line Leadership, another great book, or what Gupta calls Seriousness or strong desire.

When we follow prescriptions, we go through the motions.

We learn a language for years, dilligently doing our 'daily practice' and yet not getting better.

Why?

Because of how strongly we wanted it. THAT was the real determinant of success. And that is missing from 99% of self-help books focused on how to's.

I only know two books - this and Straight Line Leadership mentioned earlier - that speak to the deeper element of results, our seriousness.

So,

Buy the book.

Read it slowly and in a quiet state to let the words reach the innermost depths of your being. To change you.

It will save you hundreds of dollars on other self-help book you will otherwise read over the years.

Find 'Kapil Gupta MD full collection' available online and read his essay titled 'Serious or Die'.

It will give you a taste of what's discussed in this book and strengthen your resolve to be Serious (or not)

And feel free, of course, to do it your own way and not follow my advice. It could be yet another prescription.

Stunning

Filled with revelations and illumination. Short. Direct. Unapologetically to the point. I am speechless, and ready to seek more from Kapil Gupta.
