The problem with this book is that I really liked the first part but found the other parts repetitive.
So, first, the part that I liked. Covington does a very good job discussing attachment theory and its implications for individual attitudes and psychology. Although he cites academic research, he does so using plain language rather than jargon.
Next, the part I didn't like. After the first time that Convington promotes the idea of mindfulness/meditation, journaling and having a support next work, the repetition just dulls the message.
The worksheets and practical exercises in the Appendix are helpful in working through the issues, but like the second part, they were often repetitive. They would also have been more useful if they had been placed after each chapter instead of collected at the end of the book.
