Moonlight Prince (Vampire Girl #4) by Karpov Kinrade is the final book in the series. This series has been addictive! I truly enjoyed this series. It had everything I love in a fantasy. It had magic, different creatures, god-like beings, twists/turns, mystery, good vs evil, touch of romance, great world building, wonderful characters (good and bad), and great dialogue. Hate to see the end of this series!
Karpov Kinrade hits another home run with Moonlight Prince!
The Vampire Girls series has been an incredible series that keeps bringing home the gold. Each book has been a step up from the last and this one was no exception! While it's heartbreaking to know this series is ending, it's nice to see it ended on the author's terms and not continued just to make a few bucks.
Ari's story is continued, leaving us with twists, turns and surprises you'd never expect! It will pull at your heart strings, lead you down paths you never thought you'd follow and ignore a fire inside of every reader! This book is fantastic and it's a must read for all readers!
Without giving anything away, you can be sure that Karpov Kinrade have made an excellent novel. It is obviously they took time to create a fantastical plot to keep the reader's enchanted. This book will not disappoint if you'd read the rest of the Vampire Girl series. And be sure to read the rest of the series to truly see how wonderful this book is!
This journey is a fantastic read for all readers and is definitely a must read for every fantasy fan!
Where to begin. This action packed, battling, truth revealing book was excellent. Full of magic, mystery, love, torture and death. This book kept me on the edge of my seat, it's full of surprises and revelations. Getting to know ones self through and through, being able too give up everything for the one you love and being able too let your love go for his happiness is not easy. Finally knowing who you are, what your destiny is and starting on the path of change, acceptance and knowing you're life is to bring this change, always trying too make thing's better. And being able to do it all with the people you love and cherish, the people that helped you, stood by you and trusted you. This book is written so well, all the twists and turns, not knowing what's going to happen next, throughout the book. I love not being able to predict what's going to happen, I certainly didn't have that problem with this book. This whole series has been amazing, truly amazing. I can't even imagine what's to come in the next book, but I'm off to find out.
Normally I love everything I read by this author pair (namely this series and the Nightfall chronicles), but this didn't work for me for so many reasons. I don't think the series should have been seven books long, but this was rushed, messy and forced.
I was officially lost to the book when, after barely escaping certain death, the first thing Fen and Ari do is fuck for what may be hours. Seriously? I get that we are eventually to understand that it was the effect of the rift but it did not have such an immediate or overt effect on anyone at any other time save for Tavian and Kayla also getting on like bunnies in the same cave. What the ever loving fuck?
Then the whole idea of Fen as the cursed moonlight Prince was not only too convenient but seemed far too forced. It was the dues ex machina that allowed him and Ari to live happily ever after. And it completely cheapened the scene with Ari setting him free. Suddenly he has his memories and wants all the things he hated and felt imprisoned by. It smacks of a last ditch effort to keep the two together when it seemed much more likely to make him feel conflicted and torn between his feeling for Ari and the love for Marasphyr that was stolen by the curse. But no, we can't have that sort of thoughtful sequence of events to draw out the hack job conclusion to the series.
I honestly feel like the series had to be ended here and now to keep them together. Fen and Ari had straight up animal attraction for one another that felt more like teenage puppy love than anything mature and enduring. I thought Dean and Ari, despite their rocky start, were actually the most compatible and would've had the best long term bond. If just a good partner was needed without romantic love then Asher also would have been a better choice. And, honestly? They both came across as far more dedicated to Ari; Fen only won out for sheer lust and because the authors clearly wanted us to want him with her. Sorry, but I wasn't on his side after the first book and it constantly felt forced to me after that. I kept reading, curious if the authors would do something more interesting and less expected. Sadly they didn't.
Overall this was a very disappointing conclusion to what was a promising series.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
It's always sad when it comes to the end of the story line. I'm definitely sad for the end of this series but I am sighing with the perfection of how the end came.
When, not if, you decide to read this adventure, make sure to read the 3 prior Vampire Girl books first in order to really enjoy Moonlight Prince!
Well, I won't keep you as I'm sure you're ready to jump into this adventure!
I am blown away at the turn of events that this book presented. It's completely shocking what came to light. But I must say another great story or shall I say ending to a wonderful series. I couldn't have asked for a better ending
I can't say that I've ever been one to give these authors a harsh review. On the whole, I pretty much love everything they write, and am a BIG fan, but I struggled with this book.
I am not one of those that wished to see this series drag out for 7+ books, but less than 200 pages to wrap it up was a tough pill to swallow. The entire book felt rushed, and thin. Sections of time skipped over, and many vague scenes as well as quite a few moments I felt were awfully convenient and probably added just to move it along faster to the close. I find myself having a difficult time articulating everything that felt wrong about this book.
In all, it closed out this story line, yes, and I can't say I have any complaints about how everything turned out, but this book was empty for me.
If you've read this far, no doubt you'll read this for closure, and I wouldn't advise not to. I just think this final book could have been so much more from these authors.
I have no idea why it's taken me so long to read this series: I should hit myself in the face! This series is amazing!
when I first started VG, I devoured it. It reminded me somewhat of another series that I fell in love with years ago, so I was excited to get into it.
KK has great world building and the introduction to the characters was thorough. Ari is sweet and devoted. Loyal to family and friends. And the Princes.... oh my. We get different facets of the Princes (the main ones really) through out the series. Definitely Asher is the most complex, but how can you not fall in love with Fen?! Jeez. He's totally sigh worthy.
Excellent series. Finished all four books in a day and a half (by ignoring my kids and husband... the microwave is a most convenient & fantastic invention!).
I've tried to think of holes within the storyline, or incompleteness from the readers standpoint (we all know most stories have those) and I couldn't see any. We know what happens to her mom, friends and everyone else. So honestly,.... I can't think of anything negative to say about this series.
Reads well. Exciting. Funny. I think I've found a new author crush!
I'm going to stop at this book for the rest of the series. I found out that the other books are about different characters and right now I don't feel like reading about the new people... I guess I was just so invested into the hero and heroine of the first 4 books of this series that I just can't be bothered with a new tale of an old tale if you get my meaning... Ugh maybe later I might find myself back to this series to continue it.
I must say though these first 4 books have been A-Mazing. I found I was thoroughly entertained.
This isn't a horrid series and I really like the premise and world building. But, the entire series is more about telling me a story than letting me experience the story via the character's first person narrative. Why tell me the story when you have characters that could have let me experience world. The authors because of this only let me skim the surface of the world they created. It left me with a disconnect from the characters and I didn't truly enjoy the series and I kept expecting the reason for all the five star reviews. I read this via kindle unlimited but purchased the audio books. I can guarantee this won't be a re listen for me. The narrator's did a really good job it was the writing that was sub par.
Extraordinary Fourth and Final Book In This Series! I was totally blown away by this book. You will not put this book down once you start reading it until you finish it. Some of the questions you are left wondering about in the previous books of this series are definitely answered in this book. It is extraordinarily well written and this book will not let you down. The wife and husband duo writing team of Karpov Kinrade has definitely given us another phenomenal series we have fallen in love with. Even though it is the end of the series I am looking forward to see what will come out the Vampire Girl World in the new Kindle Worlds by other authors and writers.
Another great story about Fen and Arianna with some unexpected twists and surprises. Sad that this is their final story... Karpov Kinrade really knows how to create an amazing fantasy world. Let's hope I will like 'season 2' of the Vampire Girl series too
i have never finished a book series this fast and love it all the same. thank you for the adventure in inferna and avakiri. thank you vampires and faes. druids. fuck you lucian. fenris my bby, asher u cutie, dean my sweet hilariously loyal and always freaking naked even in the middle of a snowstorm Prince of Lust!!!, ace and zeb love u and will miss u both but honestly fuck u lucian niam and levi. u will not be missed.
this has been a wild ride. i love the unique turning ritual for the vampires. also eeeeee!!!! im gonna hold this adventure close to my heart. I HAVE NEVER FINISHED AN ENTIRE SERIES IN ONE SITTING MUCH LESS THAN A DAY HOLY CRAP.
I fell in love with the Vampire Girl series from the very first book, and while I'm sad to see such an amazing series end, I applaud the authors for not continuing on a series they feel is finished just to make a buck. That being said, I will happily devour any spin off series or books they decide to write because this world they have created is just so wonderful.
Continuing on with Ari's story, we have more surprises in store for us. Including, who might the Moonlight Prince BE??? We have more battles to be fought, we have losses and heartaches. We learn things about characters that we didn't know before. I love entering into a new book in a series and being just as invested in what's going on as I was from the first book. I felt just as excited to step back into that world, just as nervous as to the fate of my now beloved characters (especially Ari and Fen!) This story, as much as the previous three, will take you on an adventure and keep your eyes glued to the page.
If you've been reading Vampire Girl from the beginning, you'll definitely want to continue. If you've yet to pick up a book...run out and grab Vampire Girl right away. This is a series that any paranormal romance reader will not want to miss. This series has turned me into a KK fan for life!
•••NOT for the homophobic, transphobic, closedminded or feint of heart•••
This series must be read in order. The first book is Vampire Girl. The second book is Midnight Star. The third book is Silver Flame. This is the fourth (and sadly last) book. I can't wait to read whatever they write next!
Ari is almost out of hope. Being help captive by Metis, who I only wants the child in her womb and Yami, is daunting. Having Levi there to torture her mentally while she is forced to watch him being tortured in every way imaginable makes it even worse. Lucian being there is just the icing on the cake. How can she possibly escape? Can she free Yami and herself? Or will she be trapped until she gives birth, only to be killed and discarded like refuse? How can she end the war and bring peace between the vampires and fae if she can't even save herself?
Overall this was an interesting series with some really fantastic story elements. It's the execution that suffered a bit for me.
I loved the world. I loved all of the primary characters and how diverse they were. I loved the twists and turns along the way with Fen's background, Ari's father and Marasphyr.
But I hated the 'black moment' ending. Finally ... finally ... finally Ari trained. I mean really trained hard to defeat her nemesis. She was focused. And determined. So the final battle scene was a total let down. I know the protagonist has to face adversity, but Ari got her butt handed to her from the onset. I felt cheated. And like she just got lucky in the end. After so much training , and based on how 'powerful' she is supposed to be as the Midnight Star, she should've kicked some serious butt with the princes of hell. Not so much. Ugh.
I did like the last 5% and the closure it brought to all the moving pieces.
The 4th and last *cries* book in the Vampire Girl series. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. You will need to read them in order to understand the story. Not for younger readers.
For fantasy, magic and vampire fans this series has a bit of everything. I had my heart wrenched and torn in different directions and several "oh no, they didn't just do that! It's too much to handle" moments.
The authors of this series have kept me guessing as to what they'll write next from book one, but one thing was guaranteed, it was going to keep me in emotional turmoil!
These books have not disappointed with their twists and turns and this last one ties up some loose ends we were all wondering about.
One thing is for sure - I am going to have a book hangover from this one for weeks!
I'm not going to go into detail since most read reviews on all books in a series before starting the first one. I always hate to see a series end, it gets me all in my emotions. Moonlight Prince did it justice to this very well written series. For that, I am extremely grateful. Although, I wish we could have had more of the side characters we loved pov's. It still had enough to satisfy my hunger. I'm going to miss Ari and Fen's love story, Yami and Baron's playful, yet protective, selves and all the incredible side characters. Karpov Kinrade did a wonderful job. I hope that someday they do come back to this world they built and tie it in with the Angel realm.
I received this in an exchange for an honest review.
i have to say, the first three books were hard to put down. i couldnt stop. and when i finished the third one i had the misfortune to find out the author hadnt written the fourth book but impressed me enough to preorder it.
i waited 3 months and got the notice the book was out and jumped back in to the world of hell. i was so excited! then wow was i disappointed.
so much was rushed. i mean characters were randomly added just long enough to kill them off. the battle that was mentioned threw out all the books was rushed and it just seemed the author was ready to end it at quickly as possible.
i rate 3 because i really enjoyed the first three books but i wish they had taken their time for this last book.
Oh My Goodness! I loved this series so stinking much. The twists found throughout the books are amazing. I am not typically one to go for the vampire, fae, etc. but this was an exception and I'm glad I chose to read it. This book really is a perfect conclusion to the series with a nice resolved ending. You could keep going with a story, but you are content to just leave it be. I love the continued line throughout the books "dum spiro spero, while I breathe I hope" Highly recommended for anyone who loves a good romance with plenty of action.
A good ending. All was wrapped up nice and squeaky clean. I managed to finish it very quickly too, only a few hours. My final thoughts on the series are that the books have some great ideas, some cliches, are a bit too fast-paced for me, and didn't get as complex as I would have liked, but were overall fast reads that were enjoyable. If you can read the series on Kindle Unlimited or buy them for really cheap, they're not a bad experience! Overall get a stamp of approval for their ethics and ideas.
A wonderful conclusion of a beautiful tale of love, war, lust, treachery, and magic. This finished the Vampire Girl series beautifully in a satisfying conclusion of a great story.
Mushy ending with a bit of a mess in the middle. It was tough to get through, lagged a bit. Was repetitive and then jumped to like 7 people's point of view before the happy ending. Pffbt.
I enjoyed this book. I had trouble following it at times because there was so much going on at one time but it was still a great read. I cannot wait to read more stories in this series.
3.5 stars — I devoured this one in less than a day as well, it’s just an easy and enticing read. And overall, I found the series very entertaining. I’m not sure if I’ll read the next 3 books about future generations…I kind of like where I ended up.
Throughout this whole series I’ve experienced bouts of confusion, and I will admit I had hoped this last book would clear things up. But I was still confused on a few things…and other things just didn’t feel fully explained. Heck, I thought we’d learned who the Moonlight Prince was before the final battle, so then I was confused in the final battle.
Now saying all that, I did get answers to a lot of my questions, and some things were tied up more neatly. But there were still things that left me wanting answers, or at least more thorough answers if that makes sense (like what exactly happened to Kayla when she was tortured? Why mention it at all if it doesn’t play in the story and we don’t learn about it?).
There was still a LOT of death and carnage and destruction. I’m not used to reading a story where so many people die in such gruesome manners. It’s…hard on the heart. I may not know them, but decimation is still decimation.
All in all, I was pretty satisfied with how the overarching plot played out though, and the reasons we were given for certain behaviors. It was fun when I would start to see how things that happened in previous books tied in to the finale. There’s a part of me that wanted to know a bit more about some things, but not enough to severely impact my enjoyment.
I still maintain that the blurbs on these books are just super lackluster and uninformative. And that the uses of “vampire”, “fae”, “hell, and “demons” is kind of misleading. It was really just a whole new world with strange characters and creatures, that only vaguely resembled what they were named after. So *very* nontraditional. But it was a fairly rich world that they created, with interesting mythology and history and all that. I could picture it very easily.
So despite being fussy about explanations, this series was definitely a fun ride for me, and I’m so glad I took a chance on it!
