Elara (23) has been hiding from her ex-fiance and been on the run with her grandparents (forgot how long). She has a friend who helped her have a new identity, and now she's currently working as a sub teacher in an elementary school. One of her students is Brody, who lost both his parents only a year ago and is now under the care of his uncle, Tynan (38).
As the future Irish mob boss and guardian of his nephew, it's Tynan's job to vet everyone that comes into contact with Brody. They dug up everything they could find about Elara but didn't find any useful info. So he ended up stalking her for weeks, not just because he's worried for his nephew but also because he's attracted to the new teacher. 🤭 And let's just say that each passing day, his obsession is getting more intense and a bit unhinged. 🫣
He eventually found out some of her secrets and blackmailed her into marrying him and having his children. The catch though is that there's no end date, as in, it would be for life. 🤭
Anyway, it started with his curiosity about her, then insta-lust, then love. There's a bit of pushing away from Elara, but maaan, her BBS always gets the best of her. Her words and actions contradict each other, and I just got to the point where I ended up giving up on hoping that she'd hold her ground with him. 🤦♀️
It's not that Tynan was an awful guy; he's so far from that. He's thoughtful, caring, protective, and loving of his family and his nephew. Still, I wish that Elara wouldn't fold so quickly every damn time he makes a move on her. But alas, her resolve doesn't always last and they always end up getting frisky. 😮💨
Also, maybe it's a me thing, but there's too many spicy scenes in this book. I think the second half was mostly comprised of these scenarios, and it got so boring and repetitive that I had to skim some of them. 🫣
As for the suspense, ngl, I didn't expect that plot twist happening, and that betrayal really was a sucker punch to Elara. I didn't see that revelation coming at all. All I wanna say is that her grandma should've suffered a long, painful, gruesome death. 😤
Overall it was okay, way too long (I think it's because of the smut) and felt dragging at some parts. But I did enjoy Tynan's dedication to Elara and Brody, and although he's the king of denial, I'm just glad that he finally acknowledged his feelings for her and vowed to always make them his priority. It took me awhile to warm up to Elara, but she did grow on me as the story progressed. As for Brody, I wanna hug that kid and erase all the bad things he endured in his young life, but I'm just so happy that he now has loving parents who only want the best for him. It would've been nice though if he started talking a bit earlier in the story and not just at the last 6%. I would've wanted more interactions between him and Tynan and with the three of them as a family. 🤷♀️
Anyhoo, it was still a good read, and I enjoyed it despite the issues I wrote above. 😅 Looking forward to the next book, the single mom trope is most of the time a sure read for me. 🤭

This gave me major flashbacks to the books I used to be obsessed with, and honestly? I loved every second of it.
Unhinged mafia men truly have me in a chokehold—every. single. time. He was delusional in the best way, fully convinced he wasn’t in love with her (sir, be serious), while everyone around him could see it clear as day. Like… blink twice if you need help 😭
His sister? ICON. And Brody? Literal sweetheart, protect him at all costs.
Also, that plot twist?! I didn’t see it coming at all—I was too busy being clueless and invested in the vibes 😂 But seriously, it was a fun ride and I already want more.

I am a bit disappointed with this book simply because I loved Book 1 and it was hard to top it off.
But here’s why this was a least favourite.
First, so much sexual tension right from their meet not-so-cute and their filthy thoughts and sexual innuendos are dragged throughout the whole book until finally they succumb to their carnal desires around 60-ish% where it turns down right written porn. I am not too fan of that unless the plot is really good and engages me right to the end.
This would have been a dnf but I didn’t want to be a quitter and because, again, I loved Book 1.
Second, the MFC is so freakin’ annoying I can’t even!!! Her panties were literally on fire every time she even looked at him, he was so good to her, promised her the world but was so tenacious as to not be involved with such a man! Girl!!! Shut up!
Third, and we come to the reason why I gave it 2 stars instead of 1, the plot actually starts plotting in the last 20% or so of the book with a couple of twists that I did not see coming. And the element of surprise is worthy of an entire golden star! 🌟
P.s: Brody, Tynan’s adopted son is adorable and I loved him. He gets the other star in my rating 🩷

4.5⭐ It's probably the best book I've read by Lilian Harris. It may not be for everyone, but it captivated me from the start.
Even though Tynan doesn't want to get married, which is a red flag, he's so sweet to Brody, whose guardian he is, that I couldn't wait to read their story.
Elara is perfect for him. I loved their relationship, the fact that she was right for Brody but that wasn't the reason he loved her.
And if the previous book had twists, in this one I couldn't have been more surprised by the plot twist.
I know it's going to be difficult for the next one to be on the same level, but let's go for it.

Brutal Savage is book 2 in Lilian Harris' Savage Kings series, and I devoured it! It was delicious from beginning to end.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🌶🌶🌶🌶 - there weren't many spicy moments... but Tynan can really talk steamy. I was quite warm at some points. 🤩🥵
This is the story for Tynan Quinn, the oldest and the one to take over from his father, but that is only going to happen when Tynan gets married. Either Tynan finds himself a wife or one will be arranged. Marriage is the last thing he wants, second to falling in love - that will never happen. Tynan has too much on his plate: running the family business (Irish Mob) and becoming a single parent when his cousin (and his wife) pass away leaving Tynan the relative to take care of their only son, Brody. Tynan had no interest in having a woman in his life.
Brody has trauma from the passing of his parents and hasn't spoken a word since. The only person who can get any emotion from the child is his teacher, Elara. She quickly becomes Tynan's obsession. He first tells himself and others that his light stalking is to make sure he knows who is teaching his new son. However, when digging uncovers nothing of the teacher, she appears to be a ghost. He dives deeper and slowly becomes obsessed. Elara has her own secrets and a past that she's running from. She knows all about men like Tynan, and even though there is strong chemistry, she knows she needs to keep her distance.
Everyone around Tynan can see he's starting to fall for Elara, but he continues to deny it. Tynan realizes Elara is wonderful for Brody and may be the key to getting him speak again, that alone and no other reason is why Tynan forces Elara into a marriage with him, he's not developing feelings or anything for her... none. He promises to take care of her, her grandparents, and give her a happy life. But, even though he will give her all that, he will never love her. ...yea, right. 😏
Both Tynan and Elara fall, and they fall hard. I so enjoyed the building of their relationship, watching it grow, and both of them try not to fall. There was tension, there were pranks, and even with Elara's past coming to light - at perfect timing(s), her "secrets" weren't drawn out all throughout the book causing communication frustration, they still had a wonderful story coming together.
Elara did start to confide in Tynan, and I was so proud of her for it! She was also, in my opinion, a perfect combination of strong and soft. She would argue with Tynan, she was feisty, she was fun, she would stand up to him, but she also showed her fear, wasn't stubborn beyond words, and was vulnerable. I thought Harris did so well in her balance of Elara.
There were surprising twists at the end for some secrets that came out, and some devastating news was uncovered. However, Elara's new family comes through, and she realizes that being forced into this marriage may have been the best thing to ever happen to her. Wonderful story!

This might be my favorite book from this author! I had such a good time with Elara and Tynan. I was drawn into their love story so quickly. And sweet Brody! This broken little boy had my heart right away.
I felt so badly for Elara as her history unfolded. What a terrifying trauma she survived. I understood why she was so afraid that Tynan would blow her cover, just like he blows right into her life and turns everything upside down.
Tynan, ah Tynan, another son that Pat is trying to browbeat into getting married and giving him grandchildren. I really want to smack that old man but he does cause a lot of good relationships to form with his pressure, so what do I know?
This was a forced marriage for Elara but I knew Tynan was going to lavish her with only good things. With pleasure, with clothes, and with attention. Plus, she becomes Brody's step-mom and that's a big plus for her.
The chemistry was crazy between these two and they were burning my Kindle up. There was nothing lacking in the bedroom, no doubt but what about their hearts? Well, Tynan has more room for love than he could ever imagine.
I highly recommend this one and it would work well as a standalone if you would insist upon it.

Well, I honestly was not expecting Tynan to give my other favorite Lilian men a run for their money but low and behold he sure did! Every glimpse of him leading up to his own book is the harder side of him. That is nothing compared to his softer side. This man, his words, the way he loves...swoon!!!!
Having recently become the guardian of his cousin's son, Brody, he is still trying to adjust to that. Now his father is ready to retire and turn the Irish mob over to him with one condition...he must marry. Tynan refuses to budge on that one until his eyes land on Brody's teacher and he sees how Brody is with her.
Elara never stood a chance against Tynan once he set his sights upon her. She is trying to live a low profile life and not be on the radar yet she lands right on Tynan's. No matter how hard she tries she cannot rid herself of him and when he makes her an offer too good for her to refuse things progress from there. He offers a bit of financial freedom if she agrees to tutor Brody which then turns into her becoming his wife.
I love a "he falls first" story and that is exactly what Ms. Harris did here. When it comes to Elara anyone who wrongs her had best watch their back because Tynan will be coming for them. So many touching and tender moments between these two, especially when he shows how ruthless he can be when protecting her.
Then there are the plot twist(s). I have come to expect them in Lilian's books but all throughout this one I was trying to figure out how she would work it in and I couldn't and then it smacked me in the face and I honestly could not believe she did what she did...lol! It is brilliant quite honestly. That entire part of the book where it all starts to unfold had my heart racing with anxiety and just as I calmed down something else would happen and it was a repeat situation. In my opinion that is the best kind of writing.

So many touching and tender moments between these two, especially when he shows how ruthless he can be when protecting her.
Then there are the plot twist(s). I have come to expect them in Lilian's books but all throughout this one I was trying to figure out how she would work it in and I couldn't and then it smacked me in the face and I honestly could not believe she did what she did...lol! It is brilliant quite honestly. That entire part of the book where it all starts to unfold had my heart racing with anxiety and just as I calmed down something else would happen and it was a repeat situation. In my opinion that is the best kind of writing.

This book is about Tynan, the bachelor future head of Irish mafia & Elara, his adoptive son’s young teacher.
I had high hopes for this one. The beginning was intriguing and cool- the FMC had a secret past and was feisty, which made the encounters with the MMC interesting. But unfortunately that phase didn’t last long. He forced her to marry him and instead of fighting and being angry till the end of time, she gave up too quickly in my opinion. Her attitude didn’t match the expectations I had from her earlier behaviour, which made me lose interest. I also found some of her later decisions annoying (like avoiding the ex discussion) and the constant mention of getting pregnant got on my nerves.
Tynan was nothing special, could have been better with some grovelling but she made things too easy.
I did find the plot twist interesting though.

Tynan Quinn never expected to become a father, his father has made it clear in order to take over as the head of the mafia he needs to get married. Already struggling with being his best friend's son's guardian who is not acclimating well to his new life, he never expects to find his interest peaked by Elara, Brody's teacher.
It is clear Brody has a fondness for Elara and she is breaking through the shell that Brody has erected around himself. Tynan needs a wife and when Elara rebuffs his offer, he makes the decision for her. There is more to it though Elara is running from someone and Tynan is determined to find out who has hurt the woman he is quickly falling for even if he vowed he would never fall in love.
Full of twists and turns this was a one sit down read for me. Tynan exudes power and has a dark charisma that you cannot get enough of. Elara is a handful and has no problem standing up to Tynan. Everything about this one was fantastic, definitely going to sit down and complete the series.

She was wishy washy in her mind she was like he is so hot and she was pathetic and desperate but to him she pretended to resist like really barely any resistance. She is so stupid she is supposedly on the run and no one can know who she is and she does not trust him but she gives him her real first and last name and then 2 seconds later is like whoops maybe I should not have done that you think. Man she was just dumb and he seemed beta for a mafia boss like wannabe alpha but still beta.

Brody brought both MCs together with his tortured soul. Poor kid had to lose both his parents at such a young age.

Wow, the twist & turns in this book left me speechless! I was completely shocked in the end & couldn’t believe it, I never in a million years saw it coming.
This was a really great read. I loved the plot, the tropes, & I really enjoyed both Tynan & Elara. They had such amazing chemistry, in the bedroom & out of it! I enjoyed the banter between them & I loved seeing past couples & characters. Tynan’s family is such a strong fierce & supportive of each other. Iseult had me laughing when she gave Tynan that cactus as his wedding gift & the reason behind it! And can I just say how absolutely adorable Brody was & I loved Bubbles! That dog was an absolute joy to see in this book. I got a kick out of how she was w/Tynan.
I’m looking forward Fionn & Amara’s story next!!

The easiest five stars I've ever given to a book!
I don't know how Lillian does it but I devour each and every one of her books!
I read this book in one sitting, beginning to end, I didn't come up for air and I was absolutely breathing through it.
The story was angsty, so romantic, spicyy and full of twists! I am so much in love with the characters and just wanna preserve them!
The quotes, the sweet and spicy gestures were all too consuming and so so amazing!
I am thoroughly obsessed with this book and the characters and I absolutely cannot wait to dive right back in for Fionn's story!

My favorite!!
The Irish are here. This man is over the top obsessed with this woman and he will do anything and everything to protect her and his son. He needs a wife and only she will do. This was one of those epic stories that just grabs you and touch your heart.
I was so shocked by the ending I wanted to scream.

Elara is kind, down to earth, brave and smart. She is running from a harrowing past and trying to make a new future for herself. She is also very compassionate and enjoys working with her students. Elara can also have a sassy and playful side.
Tynan is the next leader of the Quinn family. He is charming, ruthless, intimidating and resourceful. He doesn’t want to find love given how deeply it can hurt. But he also loves his family unconditionally and will do what it takes to protect his adoptive son, Brody.
These two! Tynan falls hard when he first sees Elara with Brody without recognizing this emotion. He sees how thoughtful she is and Brody is the only person he seems to open up to. Tynan also is drawn towards Elara’s quiet strength and willingness to stand up to him , not easily folding and daring even to push his buttons. He is also tender and sweet toward her, doing small things that mean so much, despite the bumpy beginning they have which he also indicates he feels bad for when all he wants is Elara to be happy and for Brody to have a figure that can help him heal. Elara in the meantime just wants someone who genuinely cares for her after the years she spent being betrayed by the people who she thought cared for her. She finds in Tynan someone who is rough around the edges but also someone who seems to care for her well-being and wants her to feel secure. She has reservations given her experience with the mafia lifestyle but Tynan convinces her that she can have the family she so desires. This is definitely a couple that you enjoy reading about as their bond grows.
Moreover, we definitely get a lot of emotion coming through with this book as we read how our characters react to certain situations and really get into their thoughts. There is a lot of intense action scenes, unexpected twists, and suspenseful and shocking moments. There is also quite a bit of humor when an adorable one-eye pup comes face to face with the MC along with endearing moments between different characters.
Overall this was definitely an engaging read and one I had to finish in one sitting. I cannot wait for Fionn’s story next!

This book was on sale on audible, so I was like why not check it out? This had some of my favorite tropes! Girl on the run, hidden identity, single dad, man obsessed, arranged marriage, found family and of course a good Mafia romance with some spice 🖤 Elara had a troubled childhood. Her mother was killed, her father used her hand in marriage to settle a debt, and her fiancée abused her and did other things to her as well. She escapes with her grandparents and goes on the run with a new identity and becomes a school teacher. Tynan has always been close to his family and when his cousin and his wife die, he becomes guardian of their boy. Brody becomes depressed and mute from the trauma of losing his parents, and only expresses some happiness with his new teacher. Seeing this and having Tynan’s father pressuring him into marriage so he can take over being the head of the Irish mob, he decided Elara is going to be his wife and forces her into marriage.
Tynan has always been adamant about never getting married or falling in love, but he became the person Elara needed in her life. He was instantly pulled to her and denied his love for the longest, but he would do and did do anything for her to make her happy and keep her safe. And the things he does for his boy Brody! He just wanted to do anything he could to bring back the happy boy he once was! Even adopting a one eyed dog named Bubbles 😂 Elara was immediately adopted into Tynan’s wild family and finally found the acceptance and love she had always wanted and needed 🖤

There was also Will Watt who narrated some of the side characters with his different accents. They all really pulled the story together. This book had mystery, excitement, action, and even some tear jerking moments along with a twist I didn’t see coming 👀 I really enjoyed this book and will continue listening to the rest of this series 🖤

There was also Will Watt who narrated some of the side characters with his different accents. They all really pulled the story together. This book had mystery, excitement, action, and even some tear jerking moments along with a twist I didn’t see coming 👀 I really enjoyed this book and will continue listening to the rest of this series 🖤

Tynan Quinn is the son and heir of Patrick Quinn, head of the Irish Mafia. In order for Tynan to take over he must get married. Tynan is not interested in marriage, love and marriage is the last thing he wants. Tynan has to much on his plate as it is, running the family and being a single parent. When Tynan's cousin and wife died, Tynan became guardian to their son, Brody. Since his parents death Brody has been silent, not speaking a word to anyone. When Tynan starts to see a change in Brody, smiling more and doing his best to communicate, Tynan decides its the results of Brody's new teacher.
Elara is a kind, sweet women and Tynan's new obsession. When Tynan cant seem to find much information on Elara he decides to dig deeper, keep her closer. It has nothing to do with his attraction to her, it's all about helping Brody..... Right?
Elara has been on the run for a while. Running from her past and the people who threaten her future. When Mafia boss Tynan wants her to spend extra time with his son, and as a result with him, she doesn't know what to do. While she desperately wants to help Brody, she knows being around Tynan will put her future in danger. The people looking for her will definitely find her if she's with him.
This was a good read. I think the first in the series is still my favorite though. I love how Tynan fell first, even if he was in denial about it. I really liked how Elara tired to keep her independence. How sweet Tynan really was. Loved to watch both their relationship's grow with Brody.
That ending i did not see coming, damn.

@lilianharrisauthor is probably the best plot twist writer of all time! I never see it coming and this was unexpected… I guessed a small part right and thought that was it… BUT NOPE! I should have known after the set up for Savage Wounds right 🤣 sooo well done.
I loved the way this relationship was a complete journey. I felt all of the emotions too.
I can’t wait for Fionn’s book after that epilogue 🔥 but I’m also excited for Cillian’s book because, historically, her last in the series have been my favourites 🤔 (savage wounds, the devil’s den)
Anyway, highly recommend!

This book has to be my favourite book by Lilian Harris! I could not put it down!! This story just gripped me in a way I can’t explain! Tynan is now my favourite MMC! I hope as the series continues we get more on them but especially Brody!
