A night of chaos, a tempting proposition, and a grumpy restaurateur next door. My world of romance novels collided with reality on opening night. Oliver Maxwell, a charming yet boss-holic restaurateur entered my life in the most unexpected way. With one fateful stumble on the stairwell… Oliver caught more than my cello... And proposed a fake relationship to thwart the advances of a calculating woman. What started as a ruse became an intoxicating romance. But a malicious act left me shattered and doubt blinded our magnetic connection. I'm forced to question if Oliver is my knight in shining armor or just another chapter in a heartbreak tale. In the city that never sleeps, can Oliver mend my shattered melody?Or will the orchestrations of deception tear us apart… Leaving me to face the music alone?
Oliver owns a restaurant and is trying to get an investor for another restaurant. Bex plays the cello in an orchestra. Waking up the stairs after the opening of an opera she falls back with her cello, but instead of falling she is caught by strong arms. Oliver is her neighbor. She says he is grumpy. He tells her to watch what she is doing. The both ended it badly. Isabel wants to invest in Oliver’s restaurants but also wants him. He doesn’t want her at all so he gives Bex an offer to be his fake girlfriend and to stop Isabella from falling all over him. Well, things get a little crazy.
It is amazing how two very different people can accidentally meet and a connection blooms. An introverted cello player arrives back at her apartment building to find the elevator is broken. Exhausted from a very emotional show and climbing up to the fifth floor only to lose her footing. But she doesn't fall. she is caught, as well as her cello, and put back in her feet. Meet Mr Grumpy. And they are neighbors. Mortifying. But Amara draws you in and you can't put this book down. Great characters and locations will give you the feeling you are in the midst of their story. So good.
Oliver is a grumpy restauranteur, while Bex is a musician and introvert, and they meet when he saves her from falling on the stairs. This is a well written story which has heartbreak, fake relationships, next door neighbors, romance, emotions, and love, which leads to a charming, entertaining, and steamy page turner. From a young woman that was tried and carrying her cello up the stairs to her flat only to full on the same stairs right onto her next door neighbour's arms and to start to date him which turns into her happy ever ending and for him the love of his life to the best thing that ever happened for both of them.I would like to say thank you for all your hard work and may fortune smile 😃on you always 😁from a bookworm that loves to read.
Bex and Oliver have the most wonderful sex scenes and the most beautiful romance a woman or man could ever want. This book is HOT, STEAMY, and totally ENGROSSING that had me reading the book very quickly. Amara has a very very good book that is a must read on your TBR book list.

Bex and Oliver are entirely two different personalities. She is a musician with the opera whereas he is a successful restaurant owner who is highly sought after. He makes Bex an offer that is hard to refuse and it starts their path. Will their fake date turn into one that leads them to a happily ever after.

Okay, so I know I’m a hopeless romantic as well and this ticked the boxes for me. I loved the two POVs but for me I think it definitely moved very fast for the love story. I do love that Bex was able to be the person that Oliver wanted in the end but it was just interesting to see the dynamic. Definitely would want to read more by this author!
Bex and Oliver find out they are neighbors when he saves her from falling down the stairs. When they start a fake relationship to thwart unwanted advances, the chemistry between them ignites. This was a charming story and the contrast of Bex and Oliver was great.

Oliver and Bex are so cute! After Oliver catches and prevents Bex from falling down the stairs, they are immediately attracted to each other. After a while, they pretend to be a couple to get a potential investor woman to leave Oliver alone. Sparks fly and a HEA is created.
