Wow. And not in a good way. This book is trash; just straight up garbage writing, plot and execution of ideas.

The author needs to learn how to:

Format a book properly. The book is listed at 391 pgs, but it's really 320. The author chose to double space between “paragraphs” because she doesn't understand formatting.

Space a paragraph correctly. The author chose to not indent or even follow basic paragraph formatting rules.

Edit a book and while learning how, she also needs to learn the rules of punctuation.

Tap into her senses. This book was 85% dialogue. There's no scene explanation, no imagery, no metaphors or similes, or exposition.

Have character growth. The author doesn't understand how to write three dimensional characters.

It was so disappointing to read about Kate. The author clearly didn't understand how trauma works, how to write about trauma in a deep and meaningful way or even how healing happens.

I do hope that the author attends SEVERAL creative writing classes if she wants to continue on this journey. 'Cause unless she improves, she is doing a disservice to herself and ALL readers by continuing to publish whatever the hell she just wrote.

This is the first book I have read by this author and it appears to be the authors first RH. I really enjoyed the story, Kate has been locked up in a psych ward for 4 years, and has endured trauma and loss. When she is finally released, her life and the world she is returning to is changed. Her father and new step-mom threaten her with rules and then leave, leaving her with a few men who are watching her every move. This story has steam, twists, and I couldn’t put it down. It definitely has possible triggers, so check those out if you need! I’m excited to see where this series goes.

Really good

This was a really good, well written story with lots of twists and turns. I'm not gonna lie, there are a LOT of similarities to a certain Tate James book, including similar names, and from that I was able to guess Ax's main big secret because it was the same one the grumpy mmc was hiding from the fmc in those books. But there were enough differences to make this just as enjoyable.
