She Plays the Race Card

Rate this book
This book tells the courageous story of a black supervising registered nurse who filed several EEO complaints against her employer, only to face a barrage of retaliatory actions from her white subordinates, the director of nursing, and coworkers. These acts included a black doll hung on a noose in her image and a hemoccult card smeared with fecal matter left in her workplace mailbox. Despite these horrific acts, the nurse refused to back down and remained steadfast in her convictions. The inspiring story serves as a reminder for women of color to stand strong in the face of workplace discrimination and fight back against all forms of racism and injustice.
