Hi, there I’m USA Today Bestselling Romance Author Aarti V Raman. I write all shades and forms of romance or will in the future because I suffer from writing attention deficit disorder. I must tell all the stories! So, my romances range from romantic comedy, chick lit to romantic suspense and dark romance starring tortured billionaires and suffering military types!
Before I turned to writing and telling these stories full-time, I was a teacher, business journalist and editor for close to fifteen years. So my heroines are career-minded, city-living, strong-willed hot messes who still have their lives together. I believe in writing what I know and I know me best so most of these heroines are Indian (South Asian women of color).
I also believe in writing more of what I want so my heroes are indecently hot, filthy rich, fiendishly smart with secret hearts of gold. Thus, the angst and steam-meter are off the charts when stubborn force meets immovable object on the way to happy ever after. So does the banter and danger, because what’s love without a little bit of jeopardy, am I right?
I’m a TEDx speaker and 24 of my romances have hit the Amazon Bestseller Charts so I can also proudly call myself an Amazon 100 International Bestselling Author. My chick lit dramedy “The Worst Daughter Ever” has been optioned for screen. My bestselling Millionaire Foes series is part of the Writers on the Moon Project, on a time capsule to go to the actual moon. Most notably, I’ve been absolutely privileged to be part of two fantastic for-charity anthologies, Stand for Ukraine and Dissent.
I’m also known as Writer Gal. I live in Mumbai with my large and largely loveable extended family in a version of my three favorite words – Happy Ever After.

Spice: 🌶🌶

I thought this was gonna be a hard level of angst, but it turns out to be a lighter one, which I genuinely like about. I also did enjoy the writing despite the cringe moments and lines from time to time. It was still decently compelling, in my opinion.

I think my problems other than the cringe moments and lines were the fact that it felt stagnant to me, like the level of emotion or atmosphere of the novel was unchanging. I also felt like the execution of the plot could have been better? There are times that I felt bored despite it being a smoot read. That's what I thought.

Overall, I still had my fun ✨️ Thank you, author, for the e-arc 🩶

“You’re telling me you’ll let me go?”
“I’ll just walk behind you till you are ready to be with me.”

Simon and Lia were so good together.❤ Their banter was so funny.🥰 But the angst and tension between them are just top-notch. And coming to the spice!!! The spice was spicing between them, period.🥵

Even with the heart breaking past Simon and Lia shared, they still agreed to get into a marriage of convenience for their business reasons. In the beginning, Simon was rude to Lia. But gradually, he became obsessed with her and couldn’t stay away from her, and I loved that.😍The moments where he said things like “My wife” and “Who did this to you?” got me swooning hard!!❤‍🔥Also, the jealous and overprotective side of Simon was too good.💕

Ophelia is intelligent and sweet, but she’s strong and driven at the same time. I loved her!!🩷 Despite being neglected and treated poorly by her family, who made her feel unworthy, she still stayed loyal to her family by taking all the responsibilities of her family’s business on her shoulders.

I loved how Simon understood Lia when she opened up about her family and made Lia comfortable, safe and worthy.🥹The romance between Simon and Lia burned slowly, and once it reached the point, there was no stopping them. The chemistry was too hot between them.🔥

The family drama, hidden secrets, and unexpected revelations kept the story interesting and led to Simon and Lia’s Happily Ever After.🤍 Also, I loved the characters of Simon’s brothers, Jace and Cade. I want a book on these two because they were so good and fun!😁

Aarati is a new-to-me author, and I enjoyed reading this book.❣

Thank you, Aarti V Raman and Elentiya PR for the ARC of Heartbreak Vows.💗

This was a good romance book, the character development was there, I liked the setting and for the first time I loved the conflict even if there’s the miscommunication trope. It’s done well. I’m utterly sincere when I say that I cared about the side characters. I liked the scenes involving them and didn’t have the urge to skim them, I appreciate the effort to sketch out such likeable characters.

The only complaint I have is that I couldn’t grasp why Lia hung onto HON so much when it brought her so much pain. Her parents were cruel and ungrateful, so why would she give a damn what happened to it? Also, I didn’t care for the smut towards the end but I think that’s just a me thing.

All in all, it was a good book and I hope to read more from this author in the future. Best of luck and thank you for the ARC!

HANDS DOWN, THE BEST INDIAN ROMANCE I'VE READ IN EVER. Simon and Lia were everything I wanted them to be and more, the spice was off the charts, and the chemistry and the banter was addictive.

LOVED IT SO MUCH

Where do I start my review of this book? I guess the part where the author, Aarti, completely slayed the plot!!!

This was my first book by Aarti, and I absolutely loved it. All the bits and pieces were amazingly placed together to form a beautiful picture. I loved everything about the book.

The smut was smutting, y’all!! The emotions were emotioning, and above all, the book boyfriend was actually book boyfriending😭😭😭

I literally fell for Simon as soon as I started the book. His emotions were portrayed perfectly. I don’t want to give any spoilers, but Simon’s mindset and his way of thinking were very mature. I loved how he bounced back from everything.

Thank you so much, Aarti, for sending me the ARC and those bonus scenes. I devoured them to the last word.

This book is a masterpiece, and I'm already looking forward to more from Aarti!

The book was good and kept me engrossed enough to read it through to the end. Sadly, it wasn't quite my cup of tea. There were certain things that didn't make too much sense, though perhaps that was just me. I had a hard time connecting with the characters, despite the understanding between Simon and lia being well done. However, I didn't like how Simon used lia for revenge. It was also difficult to see lia continually give everything for the family that hurt and abused her, leaving her with scars on her back. I understand her desire to be appreciated and loved by her family members, but it was too much. Its also kind of hard to believe that after all that they did to her, she was still willing to forgive them after just a "sorry." Her love for HON and her passion for her job was admirable. And I loved to see it.

I loved the bond between the Archer siblings. It was wholesome and enjoyable to read. And I wish I saw more of them. Yet, it didn't satisfy me that Simon, after all that the barrons did to him, did not exact revenge in a more fitting way. Instead of making a real impact on her parents, who truly deserved it, he ended up just ruining lia's job, causing her to suffer for nothing.

The ending wasn't what I expected or wanted. It left me feeling cringe, and I ended up skipping it. This ruined the conclusion for me. Overall , I'd rate it 2.75.

This was the first novel I read from this author, and I'm looking forward to reading some of her other works.

Thank you so much, Aarti V. Raman, for giving me a chance to read this ARC.

Okay so I just finished Heartbreak Vows and I seriously loved it. Like really. This book had Marriage of Convenience, Billionaire Romance and even Revenge trope like all my favs in one story! That alone made it so fun and exciting to read.

But it’s not just about tropes. The story had depth. There were twists that I didn’t see coming and moments where I had to stop and just go like “what just happened?” It’s a little morally grey too which made things even more interesting.

And don’t even get me started on Simon Archer. That man!!! He’s possessive, intense and honestly gave me butterflies. New fav fictional man unlocked 😭❤️ And the enemies to lovers vibes were chef’s kiss.

The character development was good. I felt both of them grow and their connection became stronger with every chapter. Some scenes were soft, some spicy and some just made my heart ache in the best way.

And now I need Jace Archer’s story too.

Calling this story an enemies to lovers story is kind of a stretch, cause the FMC was never the MMCs enemy. She was his long lost love. It was her family that were the enemies. And like every other story… they got away with their crimes, cause the FMC is a naive girl who wears rose colored glasses and the MMC was desperate for her in the end…

Let’s talk about it. So the FMC and the MMC enters a marriage of convenience to make the MMC look good after a reporter (who was sent by his aunt… makes absolutely no sense) writes a shit story about him and allows the FMC to save her family business that was drowning in debt because of the FMCs fathers and her BILs idiotic decisions. She was basically doing damage control!

It was also revealed that the FMCs parents was behind the MMCs father getting caught which led him to suicide when they were younger. And her parents also threatened her, that if she didn’t break up with the MMC, they would contact the CPS and have his siblings removed… And let’s not forget the physical and mental abuse that the parents put the FMC through!

So the MMCs grand idea was to take over the family business and ruin it, like the FMCs parents had ruined his life! But the same reporter who wanted to tarnish his imagine earlier in the story, appeared again from no where and once again exposed the MMC to the FMC.

She was heartbroken and ran away from him and blocked him. But all it took was for the MMCs brothers to put some sense into her for her to understand that the MMC wasn’t the evil person and that it was logical for him to want revenge after everything. But she kept crying about being used by him… Gosh… she was so fragile!

Anyway, they reconciled, and the MMC decided to see past everything that has happened just because the FMC was devastated that he tried to take over her family business. He even makes a deal with the parents… like WTF!

I was waiting for the FMCs parents to be ruined by the MMC, but instead he let them get away with everything they did. Even the ABUSE the FMCs mother put her through when she was younger. Like the girl still has deep scars on her back from that same abuse… this was so disappointing!

And let me not start on all the unanswered questions. Like what that thing between the FMC and the MMCs brother? It was said that they were best friends when they were younger. But why did I feel like there was more… I was low key disgusted by the “attraction” that she felt toward him, and how he turned her on while she was about to marry the MMC!

And then the whole drama with the reported. I didn’t feel like it fitted into the story. It more like made it a mess. It was so obvious that she was just inserted to create drama. But how did a nobody reporter end up with so much power after just meeting the MMC once… made absolutely no sense…

So this could easily have been a 5/5 story, but I will give this 3/5 ⭐️ for all the mess. And the unfinished revenge. I can’t stand it when the villains angry away with their shit, specially when abuse was involved!

🥀Heartbreak Vows - Aarti V Raman🥀

First off, I love a cartoon cover & this one is gorgeous! This is my first book by Aarti V Raman and I already want more books with Simon’s brothers as the MCs (: so hopefully that’s in the works🤞🏼

I wasn’t quite sure what I was getting into at the start but it didn’t take long for me to want to see where Lia & Simon’s story would go. Ophelia Rai (Lia) is strong, talented and ambitious. She’s also a fashion heiress and the youngest daughter of a very wealthy, powerful family who care more about their reputation and status than they do about her. But she remains loyal and has always been self-sacrificing so when the opportunity to save the family business that she loves comes along she’s willing to do anything — including marrying the man whose heart she broke 8 years ago.

Simon Archer rose himself and his family up from the ashes of a family scandal and tragedy, becoming the most powerful, wealthy & ruthless man on Wall Street. When his ex walks into his office desperate to save the fashion empire she loves, his plans for revenge on her parents fall right into his lap. In the deal, both Simon & Lia get what they want plus each other — which if they’re being honest is what they’ve both been dreaming of since the day their relationship ended. But will they get their HEA? Or will betrayal keep them apart?

There’s drama, hidden agendas, tension, banter, teasing, steamy moments, betrayal and of course love♥️ I would recommend it if you like:

🖤billionaire romance
♥️marriage of convenience
🖤second chance
♥️revenge
🖤morally grey MC
♥️”it’s always been you”

CW: mention of suicide, parental neglect/emotional abuse and physical abuse.

PLUS: there’s a playlist for this one!! Each title has a suggested song to listen to and honestly makes the experience even better so if you love music I highly recommend listening while you read😌

This book ❤️💯😍🤌

This was such a brilliant book ❤️ I am definitely going to check out more of her works now.

Coming to this book, here's what you need to know 🤌

Ophelia Rai is the heir of fashion business and Simon Archer is the son of one business who went bankrupt and killed himself. They were close to each other even after their different social status, but Ophelia's father had different plans so they had to part the ways..

Almost after eight years, the situations changes..

Ophelia's family business is not doing well and it's on its way of getting out of business. The long running fashion empire is coming close to its doom and she isn't ready to accept it so she goes to the only one person whom she trusted the most, Simon.

Simon is currently the most powerful person in Wall Street and he has every resource to save Ophelia. He has been plotting a revenge for all the troubles his family had to bear due to one person and he was close to find him out, while he was happy to be close to his ultimate goal. Luck unfolded the best card for him, Ophelia coming to him at the same time meant one thing...

He is the devil now but was Ophelia ready to pay the price?

Even though this was a romance book but I loved how brilliantly the author blend in different emotions and feelings in it. This one was a wholesome book which I enjoyed thoroughly. Wait, lemme tell you the tropes of it-
💙 Childhood lovers to haters to lovers
💙 Second chance romance
💙 He falls first
💙 It's always you
💙 Marriage of convenience
💙 Billionaire romance

I absolutely loved the way the author included in songs at the starting of each chapter that let me understand the mood of the characters and even the setting of the chapter too. It was such an unique feature ❤️

Coming to the characters, omg both the leads were amazing and looted away my heart right from the very beginning 😍❤️🤌

Thank you to the author for sharing an ARC of this book with me!

“Take your hand off my wife, Tavistock.”

“There’s only one god here, moonshine. And it’s me.”  ”

Lovers to enemies to lovers, Marriage of convenience, forced proximity, Constant tension and banter and when the “don’t touch my wife” trope gets out … I’m a puddle on the floor. These are some of the tropes happening in this book! Should I be surprised I liked it and enjoyed every second of reading it? Not really. But I’m glad. I had a good time getting to read Lia and Simon’s story and despite being a little confused as the beginning -to be expected since it’s the first 10 pages- I got into it so fast that I felt like I needed to read it all asap. And I did. Almost in one sitting!! I’m so glad I did !! Simon is the possessive, obsessed, morally grey main character we all love and adore. The man that she knew to be very sweet, hardened by time and experiences and in search of revenge. She is the sweet girl who loved him but had to give him up, for reasons beyond her control (kinda) and is still in love with him even after years. Herself hardened by some past trauma. Their spicy scenes were full of angst and passion and craziness but amidst the rage, there still was sweetness.
Was I expecting the third act break-up? Yes, in fact I was. But I won’t complain because this is a romance and the little tension at the end before reading the HEA, is always appreciated. After all, it can’t all be sunshine and flowers now, can it?

“That reckless adoration I always saw in her. The one that kept me going when the whole world was against me. I don’t know how I lived without it so far, but I know one thing for sure.
I’m never living without it again.”

“Fuck me now, or lose me forever, Archer.”

This was such a fun ARC! I went in not knowing what to expect as I signed up for a lot of ARCs at the same time...lol.

The story starts off in the past where we see the relationship between the MMC, Simon, and the FMC, Ophelia. Their split was not the best and they both change a lot because of it, especially Simon.

Simon is a "dragon" who has made an empire with his demanding emotionless demeanor and determination to get things done. He has No cares, but he wants revenge on the people that caused his family so much pain and he doesn't care who he hurts to get what he wants. I liked his character because I understand wanting that revenge after what his family went through.

Ophelia is a dutchess of a fashion empire that's falling apart and no one cares to help, including her family who got them in that mess. So, she turns to the man that has the money and ability to help her, no matter what their past holds.

The TENSION between these two is CRAZY and delicious! 🥵 I enjoy their dynamic so much! Simon is a beast, yet Lia doesn't cower from him and challenges him in every way. Their past makes them who they are today and to see how that plays a huge part in their pain and love is so nice to read. They both make some iffy choices, especially Simon, but they need each other in more ways than they even know.

If you like marriage of convenience, second chances, banter, steamy tension, revenge, and a good story, give this a Try! The only reason why it wasn't a 5 star is because it contained one of my icks...🫠

A Delicious Slow Burn with a Sexy Hero

I haven't devoured a romance novel this quickly in ages! Aarti's latest, Heartbreak Vows, had me hooked from the start. The simmering tension between the characters, the handsome-ness of Simon, positively modeled after Cillian Murphy, the relationship between Simon, Lia and Simon's siblings - Phew, what a read! Oh and did I mention the playlist that went along with it? Sets the right mood for the read! ;-)

The story unfolded at a perfect pace, balancing steamy scenes with entertaining moments that made me pull all-nighters to see what happened next. Aarti delivers on the promised angst and tension, but with a refreshingly original plot. Let's just say, Simon (the billionaire alpha of Wall Street dreams, with a surprisingly sweet side) and Lia (no damsel in distress here!) are a couple worth rooting for. The interactions with Simon's siblings added a delightful layer to the story.

The plot and writing were both strong, though I would have preferred a lighter touch with the use of profanity. In certain sections, it felt a bit excessive and could have been replaced without sacrificing the impact.

Overall, Heartbreak Vows is a slow-burn romance with a delicious payoff. A perfect pick for readers who enjoy steamy scenes, strong characters, and a touch of forbidden love.

Tropes:

🩵 Second Chance
🩵 Morally Grey Hero
🩵 Marriage of Convenience

I’m a big fan of morally grey hero’s and I just adored Simon. He’s cruelty toward Lia at the beginning tug at my heart strings. Despite his coldness towards Lia I loved how he couldn’t stay away from her — this man was just OBSESSED with her!

Lia, was so sweet and kind but also so strong. I found her to be very relatable and she had a good head on her shoulders! My heart broke for Lia with her internal battles and the way her family treated her. I loved seeing her open up to Simon and how he stood up for her!

Now for Simon and Lia, they both are so sweet — the connection they had never went away. The chemistry between them was just delicious, Lia and Simon could just not keep their hands of one another! The spice in this was also just yummy 🥵.

Aarati is a new to me author and this was a very enjoyable read! The pacing was great, I adored the characters and was full of angst. I would delete into Jace and Cades story if we get the chance! 🩵

ARC REVIEW:

“You’re shameful.”
“I’m yours,” he answers.
“Whatever I am from now on, I’m yours.”

This book checked all my boxes, the slow burn was perfection, the spice sprinkled throughout, the banter and character growth were my two favorite things. I felt so many emotions reading this I laughed, gasped, teared up, swooned and got angry. The twists were not expected for me and once I got to them I was shook.

I enjoyed reading this book. It’s had passion, and banter, and a MMC who happened to be the definition of “I always get what I want”. I liked Ophelia & Simon together. They were genuinely really cute together.

My favorite thing about Ophelia and Simon was their banter. They had such an amazing chemistry their bater was amazing. I found them, especially Simon, to be very open and honest.

I really liked this bc he wasn't shy about letting Ophelia know how much he likes and wants her.The way their relationship grew was really sweet.

This book is literally amazing I read over half in one night, I couldn’t put it down because it was so addicted. I don’t have enough words to express how much I loved this book. I would definitely recommend it and I am looking forward to reading more from this author in the future.

Heartbreak Vows" by Aarti V. Raman is a captivating slow-burn romance that intertwines themes of love, revenge, and redemption. The story features a marriage of convenience and an enemies-to-lovers dynamic, showcasing the journey of Simon and Ophelia.

The plot revolves around two main characters, Simon and Lia, who find themselves in a complicated relationship marked by past traumas and present challenges. The story begins with a marriage of convenience, which serves as a catalyst for their evolving relationship. As they navigate their new life together, they confront their feelings, insecurities, and the ghosts of their pasts.

Simon: A billionaire with a troubled past, Simon is portrayed as a strong yet vulnerable character. His journey involves overcoming personal demons and learning to trust again.

Lia: A determined and independent woman, Lia is not afraid to stand up for herself. Her character evolves throughout the story as she confronts her feelings for Simon and the challenges they face together.

Aarti Raman successfully weaves together a story that is both heartwarming and realistic, with well-developed characters that resonates with me. The book is a must-read for anyone who enjoys contemporary romance with depth and emotional resonance.

Starting with the predictable plot could have been redeemable if there was sincerity in the writing, which sometimes peeking out in humor but the rather casual way of delivering the serious moments takes away from the charm of the enemies to lovers trope.
I see so much potential in the future works, if only the author would stick to the light-hearted tropes like that of chance encounter and accidental pregnancies.

How can I ever overlook that the FMC forgives so easily, taking blame on herself even after sacrificing so much for the MMC. That is not the attribute of a woman who is on the path of discovering her self worth. It takes away from the arch and dis-balances the character. It foreshadows the character's repetitive self-destructive behavior, which was to be surmounted.

Coming to the MMC, where shall I begin...The ultra-obsessive billionaire ex-boyfriend is a charming point to build the an interesting arch but if its repeated too long, then it obviously looses it's charm.

Even the side characters are under utilized, where as they could have made the plot so much more alive.

SO HOT. 🥵 I enjoyed it very much. The book pace was perfect. It was spicy & entertaining that I couldn't put it down and pull all nighters. The promised Angst and tension was there. A original plot. Hot characters. Great book.
Simon is billionaire Alpha male, king of Wall Street (I absolutely love when they are wall street richs build from ashes typa) yet he was super cute and possessive when it came to Lia. Lia was much more than desperate heroine. Side characters were great, Simon's siblings realtion with Lia was adorable.

This is my first time reading this author's work and I'm surprised, it was pretty amazing. The story is good and the writing is also good, but each time I see the word 'fuck' it's been annoying me. At many places it was quite avoidable.

I did not like seeing the "suggested song" at the beginning of each chapter. It pulled me out of the flow of the story every single time. Nothing takes me out of the story like an author interrupting my reading to tell me what I should be listening to while I read.

Also, there were these odd *** scene separators in the middle of scenes. Like someone would ask a question, then there would be ***, then someone would answer the question. It was distracting and annoying.

Unfortunately, even without those two annoyances, this still would not have been a great read. I didn't feel the chemistry between the two main characters, and I struggled with them as a couple. They were both immature and the entire "conflict" could have been avoided if they'd just talked to each other. In fact, that's true for the later conflict as well. The book barely held my interest, and I was skimming by the final fourth of the book.

Sometimes hurt makes you do terrible things!
I had never read anything by Aarti and, I must say, I really loved it. Aarti was kind to send me an ARC, digitally signed, which I so loved and decided to lay all other reads aside, just to read it. Heartbreak Vows is a beatifully written story, that kept me hanging on to every word. Simon is such a strong, hurt man, that just wants justice for his family, nearly losing the love of his life. Ophelia is a woman who fights for her family’s business, and is prepared to do anything to save it. She is strong and knows she can make the deal to save everything. Ophelia was bullyied and badly treated by her family and fights to show that she is worth being in front of HON. There is quite some spice, and a lot of love between these two, alrhough none of them realize it. Really loved it and will be reading more of Aarti’s books. ❤️

🔘Marriage of convenience
🔘Second chance
🔘Angsty

Ophelia is struggling to salvage her family's fashion empire, and the only person capable of offering assistance is the man she once shattered the heart of. Simon Archer, now a merciless billionaire, is willing to strike a deal, but it is fueled by his insatiable thirst for revenge.

✨Thoughts✨
I'm delving into this author's work for the first time, and I must say, the story holds immense potential. It does require some trimming to truly shine, but its central themes of revenge and angst are fascinating.

I found myself thoroughly engrossed in the intense drama surrounding Ophelia and Simon’s relationship. I'm looking forward to what Aarti V Raman has in store for her readers next.

Overall, if you enjoy emotionally charged romance, I believe this book is worth giving a shot. Special thanks to the author for providing me with this ARC.
