Teddy’s life isn’t her own anymore. It’s been nine months since the accident, and she still can’t remember anything from before it. When all hope rests on the heart-shaped sketch from the six summer she spent in Bear Lake, she memorizes it. A last resort in the laundry list of failed attempts at restoring her memory. When it becomes just another reminder that she’s disappointing the people she loves, Teddy vows to leave the small town at the end of the summer. Until her path collides with the two handsome faces from that sketch.
Reed is her new coworker at her summer job. He’s confident, eager to spend time with her, and hard to ignore. If it weren’t for their alluded history, she could use a friend. Miles is quiet, reluctant to open up, and pretending not to know her. Avoiding him is impossible while he’s living next door. But he’s the only one who seems to understand what she’s going through.
The more time she spends with them, the more Teddy begins to live her own life again. She’s starting over in the one place she thought she’d need to leave behind. Until a pivotal moment tests just how much she is willing to give up before she defines her future for good.
A coming-of-age romance with nostalgic heart, summer love, and second chances.
I've already read (and absolutely loved) Where the Black Line Ends, book two in this standalone-ish duet. So yes, technically I went into this knowing how the love triangle would end. Whoops! But even knowing who Teddy would choose, I was still completely invested.
Meagan Williamson has a beautiful quality to her writing! Set at Bear Lake, Idaho, the summer setting was so atmospheric, capturing the balmy season and the nostalgia of first loves. Add a little amnesia into the mix, and this very much gave me Every Summer After vibes!
An accident has left Teddy with missing memories, including her relationships with Reed and Miles—two boys who truly marked her childhood. Told in both past and present timelines, before and after the accident, I loved the turmoil of seeing Teddy piece together her past, uncover the cause of the accident, and figure out exactly who she is and where her heart truly belongs.
I loved that both Reed and Miles were such genuinely great guys. Their personalities are so distinct and lovable, making the tension of Teddy’s decision all the more angsty! Even though I’d already seen him get his HEA in book two, I'm still so sad for the one who wasn’t chosen. I seriously could not put this down!
The second book of this series was put on my radar for a book club and I hesitated trying to decide if I could squeeze in book 1 first. I’m so glad I did! This book was SO GOOD! I was hooked from the very beginning and didn’t want to put it down.
Teddy has amnesia and doesn’t remember the two boys she spent every summer growing up with. It is dual timeline going between Teddy’s childhood and her present state of getting to know her friends again. Even though I knew who she was going to end up with, the love triangle still held my attention and I loved the push and pull of it. Think The Summer I Turned Pretty vibes, but not between brothers and 10 times better. 😉
The ending had me in tears of happiness and a little heartbreak for the boy left behind. BUT his story is next up, so I’m ready to see him get his happily ever after! 🫶🏻
I love this book so much an absolutely amazing read (especially if you want a good summer read) I enjoyed this book usually I do not read and like “Love triangles” because it gives me so much stress :) but this was so good this book changed my opinion (still I’m not reading LOVE TRIANGLES if she don’t writes it). From the start of this book I was pulled in. Ioved the characters and their chemistry. I loved Miles and Teddy’s friendship as well. I loved everything in this book how beautifully she wrote this book it’s mind blowing! I love them so much and I’m already missing them I don’t know what to say this book was EVERYTHING. The only thing I want to say is READ. THIS. BOOK.
This book follows two time periods of same character’s life “Before she lost her memory” and “After she lost her memory”
Wanna smile? Read this book. Wanna cry? Read this book. Wanna laugh? Read this book.
If you love small town romance, childhood friendship, love triangles and dual timelines this one is for you.
This is the kind of story that lingers with you, because you never want to leave this place or these characters. Meagan Williamson is absolutely an author to watch. If this book isn’t on your summer TBR, you are missing out!
I dont normally read fast. I dont.It took me a couple hours to complete this book and that hardly happens. But this book reminded me of one of my favorite books along with a few others and I was just captivated and just like the others, I could not stop reading. I have so much love and respect towards these characters. The plot was on point. There wasnt a part of this book that I had to wonder what was going on. Everything was well put together and well written.
The love amongst all three characters was something. It started out like any childhood friendship and then it gets to be more than that and the growing apart but then finding each other again. And that is not only between the ones that fell in love but amongst all three. I think that's one of the reasons why I loved this books so much. Because this book to me was never really about just two but about three. It's quite the dynamic. All the stories; individually and together, came together so well. They are very much connected, more ways than one.
So I had a few thoughts throughout the book that I felt and these are my raw emotions as I read or written right after. There are NO SPOILERS! but at the same time gives an insight about what the book is about and how I felt. So here we go:
- first thing to say is that I'm 28% on the book and already obsessed and intrigued. I'm already falling for these characters.
- character development for each of them is great. Love that while reading we get each of their backstories. Nothing was held back.
- the book reminds me of Love and Other Words/Every Summer After but its more on a sense that the FMC has to find herself all over again. She didn't lose someone like the others, she lost herself, her memory. But it compares because of the childhood friendship to you know liking each other and loving each other. It. Is. A. Journey.
- Theadora, Miles and Reed reminds me of a few characters I've read about. They are now apart of my book family, they truly have a place in my heart. I cant get enough. I want more right now. Right now.
- finished in one sitting, I was captivated to say the least.
- I bawled my eyes out at the end, if you know you know and if you dont then you have to reread and hopefully you get it because when I read it, my heart became so full.
- this young love made me want more, like I didn't want to stop reading. I was like "I'm going to read half tonight and the rest tomorrow, and then I kept saying one more chapter, no two more chapters and then I'm done @ 1:44am, exhausted but was worth it.
- looking forward to future books from this author for sure.
- I just knew, I just knew, the who and the why. I just knew and I loved discovering and figuring it out. It was a beautiful freaking journey.
- such a cute, adorable, coming of age, young love, finding oneself story.
This book took over my life for those few hours and I would let it do it again because I fell inlove with every aspect of the book. Especially those characters, Reed please come find me, lol, nothing again you Miles, lol. Overral I give this book a ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5. I ain't gonna hold back, I love the book and I want more. Simple as that.
Thanks to Grey's Promotion for selecting me for this ARC and to the author for an amazing book.
Wow. I really didn’t expect this book to be as good as it was. It had me sobbing throughout. Especially that epilogue? I found myself loving both of the guys in this book. They were both so special in their own way. I’m really excited to read the next book in this series.
I kind of waffled with my thoughts on this one but for someone who doesn’t like flashback chapters all that much, the fact that this one had me glued to my kindle deserves the praise. I was hooked on needing to know what would happen.
And I think I’m turning over a new leaf on love triangles. I enjoyed the way this one was crafted and the emotions that went into the push and pull between Reed and Miles. There’s secrets to uncover and truths to be known as Teddy navigates recovery and her past.
It’s fast paced and now that I’ve read two Meagan Williamson books I’m officially a fan and can’t wait for her new series.
Overall audience notes: - Contemporary Romance - Language: low - Romance: 1 brief open door (emotion > physical) based - Violence: mild - Content Warnings: TBI, car accident
This story is not just beautiful; it's a masterpiece. If I Never Remember is a book that will be etched in my heart for a long time. I smiled, laughed, and cried—a lot. I did not know what to expect, but I was pulled in from the start and immersed in its emotional depths. I can't believe this is the author's debut.
The story is told in two timelines - before and after Teddy's accident. In the present, she suffers from amnesia as a side effect of a traumatic brain injury. Teddy is unable to remember anything or anyone other than her parents. She does not remember her life before the accident, nor does she remember what happened the night of the accident. While her family is in Bear Lake, where they frequently go during the summer, she crosses paths with Miles and Reed. Although she does not remember them, they feel familiar to her.
The story takes us back to when Teddy was ten years old and first met Miles. It takes us on a journey that shows us the early days of their friendship, their instant connection, and the introduction of others into their lives, including Reed. As Teddy spends more time with Miles and Reed over the years, pieces of her memory start to come together. Teddy is forced to grapple with the fact that she has feelings for both guys. While Teddy gets to know Miles and Reed again, she also goes on a journey of self-discovery.
The characters are amazing. I loved Teddy, Miles, and Reed. The story includes a love triangle, but it was done so well that I truly rooted for everyone. I couldn't choose who I liked more, and I wanted all of them to be happy. Their friendships and connections were beautifully written. I loved the secondary characters - friends and family. I was emotionally invested in everyone in this story.
This is a well-written story that is complex and has much depth. Meagan Williamson did an incredible job with this book and I can't wait for what's next.
Thanks to Meagan Williamson and Greys Promotions for the e-ARC. Opinions expressed are my own.
this book had everything i love in a romance… •second chance •love triangle •then and now chapters •the angst of coming of age •the chaotic decision making of new adulthood •two swoony heroes
add in the fact that our heroine, teddy, remembers none of it…gah. i ate this book up like a bag of potato chips!! i’m finding that i love the amnesia trope and i always try to imagine not remembering. it’s maddening and it’s maddening when you’re just as blind as the heroine, but i also love that!! it tends to produce the slowest, angstiest romance and they are my absolute favorites. i loved reliving the past with teddy and feeling that push and pull between reed and miles. i loved them both so much. seriously, the sweetest guys, but i also think it’s pretty obvious who teddy should be with.
as a mother of an only child who’s a girl, i truly felt camaraderie with teddy’s parents. they went through so much during teddy’s childhood and her not remembering had to hurt so much. i loved how they handled it though and gave teddy the room to figure things out organically instead of just telling her everything. this only added to the mysteriousness of teddy, reed and miles’ relationship.
meagan williamson’s writing is addictive and just so easy to fall into. i’m so excited to read ‘where the black line ends’. i’ll be looking forward to anything she writes!
I loved everything about this book from the start. Seeing all three characters interaction throughout the book just made the book for me. The way the author was able to write about the character’s friendship and how Teddy had to get through everything in this book.
This book did the love triangle trope so well. The book was very well written for being her first novel. Just the way she was able to write our characters past and present made the story so much more lovable. I don’t normally like books like that but I loved it in this book.
Can’t wait to read Meagan’s next book.
Thank you to Meagan and Grey Promotions for an early arc copy!
This was such a fun book to read! I stumbled across it in a little store in Bear Lake! It was written by a local author, so it was so fun to read a romance novel set in all the places I know and absolutely love!!! Because she’s such a new author I felt like I had low expectations but the writing style was really really wonderful and the storyline was amazing! if you wanna know why I gave it four stars instead of five just ask me in person… It’s too long to type out haha. Also, if any of my friends want to borrow the book I have it and highly recommend it and would love to hear your thoughts ;)
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It took me by surprise. I loved the mystery sub plot. I loved the love triangle. (Not my typical trope choice). Meagan’s writing was captivating and kept me wanting to read more. I cannot wait to read where the black line ends.
Super cute storyline. Each chapter goes back and forth from now to back then. The main character has a lot to figure out in her head and the puzzle pices eventually fall together. I enjoyed the character's mental struggle and the love triangle she is forced to go through twice in her life.
What a cute book!! I love Bear Lake so this was a fun one to read and knowing all the places mentioned! I found this book in the LaBeau’s gift shop and glad I gave it a chance!
I loved this! The entire book consumed me and I loved the flipping back and forth between then and now. It was the perfect beginning of summer read ..now I want to go to Bear Lake!
ᴛʀᴏᴘᴇs: • Love Triangle • Second Chance • Amnesia • Summer Vibes
This was such a cute book! This is the author’s debut book and I read this so quick! This was such a good read and perfect for the summer!
Our main character Teddy was in an accident and unable to remember what happened and the past couple years. I loved being able to be in her perspective and learn with her about her past and the relationships she had with our two men, Miles & Reed.
Miles and Reed were both just the sweetest characters and you could tell they both genuinely cared about Teddy. Usually when I read a book with a love triangle I have a clear favorite but reading this book I was constantly going back and forth of who I loved more. I honestly just loved when both of these characters were on the page and getting to see their relationships with Teddy.
I really enjoyed this book and I will definitely read other books by this author! This is the perfect book to put on your summer TBR!
Thank you to the author & @greyspromo for the arc of this book. ♥️
🇺🇸To say I loved this story would be an understatement. It repaired my little heart disappointed by so many other romances with the same pitch (including a very well-known one of which I will not mention the title or the author).
This novel features a love triangle, of course, but treats it so well, with such gentleness... and if you know me, you know that it’s one of the tropes that I love the least, so just seeing that this book is now one of my favorites should convince you to read it.
One of the main tropes is also memory loss, which is one of my favorites, especially when it occurs before the story is set up. Here, it creates tons of tension and angst and introduces us to the characters twice, first as children through flashbacks, then as young adults in the present time.
And besides, let’s talk about this double temporality so well managed, which left me hanging at the end of each chapter, unable to put the book down.
In short, a soft romance, magnificently well-written, with very touching characters that moved me to tears.
“I may not have a lot figured out yet, but I do know I’m someone who feels the most when I’m with you.”
Are you kidding me!?!? Meagan Williamson. RUN to read this freshly released love story. My heart. I like to think I don’t like love triangle stories, but secretly I think I love them. It pulls me every which way trying to pick who I like more! What a beautiful summer romance at the lake TWISTING in memory loss. This is a very common plot I’m finding these days of girl at lake caught between picking two pretty different boys (won’t spoil who to root for). In summer. But who doesn’t love reading those?!
I really liked the dual timelines while we got to watch Teddy’s past summers unfold revealing or setting up what turmoil would occur in the current time line. I was frustrated with how most of the characters went about Teddy’s amnesia, but I mean… reasonable as they are grieving. We see a major difference in how Miles and Reed handled interacting with her for the first time since her accident.
The story was filled with many fun side characters that made me laugh. I thought Teddy’s dad was so funny, but maybe I just enjoy the dad humor. I also adored Shep and Reeds brothers a lot. I had beef with Teddy’s mom for a while and how she was overbearing, but I do have to remember she is her mother and she wants to protect her. OH and I cannot forget about sweet sweet Cozy (I do wonder if that’s her given name), Teddy’s best friend. The friendships throughout, regardless of romantic feelings, really got to me. They made me very emotionally tied to them and truly mourned and rejoiced with them.
The entire time, I just wanted to protect Teddy, too, but also scold her from running from her problems!! I give her a lot of grace for being frustrated that no one would tell her of her past and she was more easily irritated. Oh how I felt for her through her high school years struggling to choose. Though I was screaming at her in my head who was very obviously the winner.
The ending warmed my heart a lot and I can’t wait to read the next book of the series, as it was hinted at by the end.
If I Never Remember was a well-written and well-executed debut novel by Meagan Williamson! I found the love triangle between Miles, Teddy, and Reed to be a lovely coming-of-age story, told in both past and present chapters.
In the present, Teddy is suffering from amnesia, and cannot remember anything other than her parents. She has zero recollection of the night of her accident nine months ago, nor her life before it. She feels stifled and caged. Working at a local restaurant is her only reprieve, even though she can't remember how she knows her coworker and the owner's son, Reed. She also crosses paths with the mysterious Miles, who somehow seems familiar, and she feels like she is most *herself* when she's around him.
The present chapters alternate with the past, going back four years ago when Teddy and Miles first meet as 10-year-olds and begin their summertime friendship. As the story unfolds, we go along for the ride as their friendship grows, along with their attraction to one another, over the years and Reed eventually enters the picture as the third best friend. But how does this trio go from inseparable best friends to the two guys despising one another? What caused Teddy's accident?
I thought this book was so well done. The characters were developed nicely, and we got a solid backstory for Reed and Miles. That contributed feeling the pain each of them went through along the way. While it is a love triangle, there's no cheating, and Teddy really does give a piece of her young heart to each boy.
As Teddy got to know Miles and Reed, she rediscovered herself. And I cheered and cried when her memories came rushing back. For me, there was really only one guy she was meant to be with, and I was very happy with the end result! I can't wait to see what comes next for the other guy in Williamson's next book in this series!
I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.
I told all my friends "I'm only like 10% in and already soooo invested!" just because it feels so close to my heart. It is a second chance love story set in Bear Lake, Idaho. It flashes back through the summers spent together and then forward to the present day after Teddy, has lost her memories of the place that she loved and the two boys who live there.
And these are just a scant few of my ramblings:🤣
Have never felt my stomach drop reading a book more than when we see Lexi for the first time🙃
When one of the boys is warming her up after falling in the lake, my goodness it felt so real. That feeling of indescribable closeness to your true person. Its more than just sexual or attraction or even friendship. And the way it was described felt real. Even if she cant remember, her muscle memory knows that he is hers.
Love Birdie and Archie and how natural it would be to want to just wrap your child in bubble wrap. And I love their love!
Everyone needs a best friend like Cozy... that "WHAT?!" was heard around the world!
I KNEW Shep is actually shipping the two of them hard and is secretly Crazy Earl from Hart of Dixie 👏🏻🤣🎉
I desperately wished that the book was longer because I just didn't want it to end or have to leave the world behind. I constantly just wanted to hear more points of view and more tidbits of each personality. Its hard to read a Love Triangle when everyone involved genuinely cares and are good people. And it was a roller coaster!
This book feels like summer and haze-y first love. And i absolutely adored it! CANNOT WAIT for Book 2!!!
Sex Scenes: Yes, 1, easy to skip and clean Profanity: No Violence: No Trigger Warnings: MC memory loss and journey through that, PTSD, trauma over a Accident that happened for all characters involved, abandonment of a parent, diabetes, hospital stays, First time having Sex, fear of someone leaving in a relationship

After all, I grew up spending summers at the lake. Have driven through and attended church in Montpelier, Idaho countless times. I’ve relaxed in Lava Hot Springs. I grew up wakeboarding and tubing and diving off of docks. I know Boise, Idaho like the back of my hand. Have hiked Table Rock. Have hidden in the trunk of a junior’s car to get off campus for lunch in high school. The places and experiences in this book were already so vivid for me from my childhood, so reading a story as beautiful as this one that takes place IN those very spots really did something to me.
This story felt very coming-of-age and I loved every second. Plus, I’m a sucker for a dual-timeline.
Teddy Fletcher has spent most summers at a cabin on Bear Lake with her family since she was 10. That first summer, she met the quiet neighbor boy Miles and formed an instant friendship. A couple years later, she arrives for the summer to find that a new addition has been made to their friendship on the lake.
We get chapters of her teenager years intertwined with a now 19-year-old Teddy who has gone through a traumatic head injury that has erased all these beautiful and messy memories we are reading about. She navigates memory loss, a well-meaning helicopter mom, two boys she can’t remember but are obviously from her past, all while having absolutely zero helpful answers.
I laughed, I reminisced, I cried (the cozy phone call DESTROYED me), I remembered my own first teenage heartbreak, I rooted for one boy, and then the other, and then both of them.
I absolutely cannot wait to get the next story from Meagan!

ᴛʜᴏᴜɢʜᴛs: Ohhh I adored this debut novel from Meagan Williamson! I was lucky enough to win this from an Instagram giveaway and it was the perfect read to keep me company at my appointments last week! Set in Bear Lake, this book gave me ALL the summer vibes and made me want to pack up and head to a lake! ☀️ this book has so many things that I eat up— second chance, friends to lovers, summer adventures, the vibes are just 👌🏻👌🏻
After our MC Teddy is in an accident and can’t remember much of her life, this story takes us through her current day to day of trying to live her new normal while hopefully having her memory return. We get flashbacks to her past and how everything leads up to the accident. Of courseeeee there are some amazing men in her life that she doesn’t remember 😉
What I absolutely LOVED is how much I loved both of the MMCs. Usually there is a clear winner.. but in this one, I kept going back and forth because they both cared for her so much and I fell in love with both of them for different reasons! I am sooooo thrilled that the other gets the book 2, because he’s a gem and we are so not done with him yet!
"My mom said there’d be room to fill the empty spaces, but what I wish I’d asked her that day on my bed is if a heart can love two people at once."
I read this book in preparation to ARC read Where the Black Line Ends, and I am SO glad I decided to read this one first! I loved both of the guys in this one, and I am so relieved that Reed gets another chance at finding someone who will love him completely.
This was such a beautiful, at-moments HEARTBREAKING book. Timing is everything, and it seems like Teddy was never quite "on time" with the two guys in her life. I felt the pre-amnesia flashbacks throughout the book were done extremely well, and it was amazing watching Teddy, Miles, and Reed grow up. From the innocence of childhood, to the jealous angst of teenagers, to the desperate, raw love of young adulthood. Even knowing which guy she would end up with(WTBLE), I was anxious to know everything as quickly as possible. Thankfully, I was able to start the second book IMMEDIATELY after finishing the first haha.
I'm giving this 4.75 stars, rounded up! As a reader who prefers closed-door romance, I skimmed over the open-door scene in Chapter 29.

Teddy has forgotten all her memories except who her parents are. She doesn’t remember her best friends, her first love, her summer adventures or why she can’t remember. At Bear Lake we get to learn about her memories and then see her struggle to live life without them.
I found it interesting to see how people treated Teddy. Pushing her to remember. Trying to replicate the past to try to jumpstart a relationship. Just letting her exist with who she was now.
I liked the majority of the story. The characters grew up and changed but not so much that it wasn’t believable. Teddy couldn’t have a cellphone but I couldn’t understand why she couldn’t email or send letters to Reed and Miles during the year and Cozy during the summer.
Don’t know if I liked the ending after her kiss with Reed. Especially once we learn what caused her memory loss. There is forgiveness and then there are red flags- it’s why I gave the book 4 stars. There is a happily ever after ending to this book. Part of me appreciates that. At the same time I almost want Teddy to meet up with Cozy and spend a year drawing all over Europe.

After reading this I went to see what other books Meagan has written and this is her first one? What? If you have been following my reviews for a while, then you know that reading love triangles are one of my favorite tropes. Teddy has amnesia and is unable to remember anything other then her parents and can’t remember what happened the night of the accident. She has a job at a restaurant and isn’t sure how she knows them or the owner son, Reed. Teddy also meets Miles who seems familiar but isn’t sure how she knows him. While reading you feel like your going on the journey of remembering with Teddy and getting know everyone, Her parents were a tad over protective but understandable considering. Teddy, Miles and Reed have great banter and charm. This book left me wanting more and not wanting the story to end. I can’t wait to see what this author with have next.
Amnesia trope, small-town, summer read, friends-to-lovers, second chances, love triangle (not my personal favorite but it is necessary for this story) read.
I feel love for Miles and Reed and sadness for both of them in different ways. Just like how Teddy felt between the two of them before and after the accident, they are different in their own ways - there are things we see that make us feel like either of them is the one while at the same time we know that one of them is destined for her and the other would definitely have someone equally better waiting for him.
I would honestly say that the time-skips were confusing in terms of age... that is it didn't feel like they acted their age if you did the math but nevertheless, it was good to see and understand what went on.
Reed's letter at the end broke my heart and I can't wait for any next books that might continue this story.
I would have loved to get the POV of others, esp. the MMCs during the time between the accident to when the present scene is set to feel a bit more connection to them and what they went through.
