I loved the original Seven Sons Ranch series and it is great to get acquainted with the next generation of Walkers in this new series. This book features JJ Walker, son of Jeremiah, who has a huge secret crush on his best friend Tate’s younger sister, Ruby. It turns out the crush is mutual but JJ’s naturally grumpy demeanor serves as an effective way to disguise his true feelings and it keeps Ruby in the friend zone. I love the way the author turned the tables on JJ when Tate winds up with a crush on JJ’s younger sister, Clara Jean. Overall it was fun and romantic. One of my favorite characters in the book was JJ’s cousin, Conrad, who was trying to clean up his life after making some choices he was not proud of. The author did a great job of making readers empathize with his anguish and shame especially as he is forced to face his mistakes publicly. Hopefully his story will be coming soon. This faith-based book shares words of wisdom on repentance, forgiveness, moving forward, and the process of restoration. I really enjoyed it! Highly recommend! I received an ARC from the author. Love Three Rivers! JJ graduates from college and returns to Seven Son’s Ranch to begin his future running the ranch. He really wants to find the special woman God intends for him. Liz Isaacson weaves a tale of friendship and love that has you in the middle of the story cheering. It is a standalone book but you catch up with all the other characters that live in Three Rivers. Just when I think this author’s books could get any better!

Jay-J and Ruby characters were so heartwarming and just seemed to draw you into their midst. I love how this author has a knack for pulling the reader in and making them feel like they are sitting in the room with the families. I have sat here and read the times that one of the characters has broken down in tears and all of a sudden they are surrounded by cousins or siblings to form a barrier around them. I am of course sitting here with tears streaming down my face just like I am there with them. I have read this authors books for a long time now and I always feel like it is a learning experience in so many ways. I love the depth she gives each character. She sure gave a good look into both Jay-J and Ruby thoughts and ideas. Wonderful book. Read it and all of this authors books.

JJ has had a crush on his best friend’s sister for a long time, but JJ is worried about what Tate would think if JJ dates Ruby.
Ruby has had a crush on JJ for a couple of years now, but Tate has told Ruby more than once it would be weird if she started dating JJ.
Ruby has just learned her internship has fallen through and she has no place to go when she finds out Tate has literally just been run over by a bull and is the hospital. Without even thinking Ruby jumps in her car and rushes to Three Rivers. When she sees JJ in the waiting room she rushes into his arm and without thinking she kisses him.
Will JJ and Ruby be able to admit to each other how they feel and will Tate be ok with his sister and Best Friend dating??

I love visiting Three Rivers. As a native Texan, I’m very familiar with the area where Three Rivers is located and can easily place myself there. This author is the best at creating a location, building a community, and keeping you up with what is going on with that community of families. She is thoughtful and gives you family trees to consult because these families are large and now, multi-generational. They have become friends and each book is a mini reunion plus a new story regarding one of the family members or long time family friend. We get romance, humor, dilemmas, problems, joy, sometimes sorrow, all faith based, even if that faith is a little shaky, but all very realistic. I really hope that this extended family and their family reunions last for a while longer.

JJ and Ruby have known each other for a while and both had feelings for each other but were afraid to let anything happen because of JJ’s friendship with Ruby’s brother. This was a great story of two very driven people trying to figure out how they can fit into each other’s lives.

This author is the queen of family sagas! Each of her stories have main characters, but you get to see so much of the rest of the family and how they all fit together. I love that we get to see flaws within the family, but how their love for each other allows them to work through them. Another amazing addition to an incredible series!

I had an ARC for this book, but this is my voluntary and honest opinion. JJ Walker returns home after graduating college with his best friend, Tate Reynolds. When Tate gets hit by a bull, his sister Ruby an interior designer who was supposed to go to San Antonio for an internship but it had fallen through comes to help take care of him. She has had a crush on JJ for a while as he has had on her. As they get better acquainted, they have to figure out what their future will be. Also Tate and JJ’s sister Clara Jean become engaged. This book, like her others is an uplifting and insightful family saga by Liz Isaacson.

A grumpy cowboy + his best friend’s little sister = a winning combination for Liz Issacson! I love coming back to Three Rivers, Texas, and the Seven Sons Ranch as the next generation prepares to take over the reins. Although part of a series, you can still enjoy each of these books as a standalone, but they are kinda like potato chips - you probably CAN’T read just one! Isaacson creates such a warm and loving family group that the stories just draw you right in and make you want to be part of the family. She is a master of character development and weaving a heartwarming and fun tale that grabs your attention from the very first page.

Another winner of a book! There were places that were highlighted that touched my heart again and that is a rare thing when a whole page is highlighted. There were two main stories in the book, however, the third one caught my eye , the most. It was a touching story that will continue in the next installment of the book series. The endings are always good. The stories will move you if you are open to it and give you a sense of family is important. The author's books just get better and better!

Another great story in Three Rivers Tx. I absolutely love this town and series. I love the characters, the real life feeling, the faith-based elements that make me stop and ponder. I loved JJ and Ruby’s secret dating; they are so sweet and swoony together. I love this big family and all the support they give each other and the way the author makes it feel so real, I really liked seeing another couple find their happily ever after, who could it be? A beautiful story I couldn’t put down, great read!

This is a great best friend’s little sister hea. JJ Walker returns to Seven Son’s Ranch to start running it with his father, that’s always been his plan, but something is missing. He has plans to change things, add things and put his own stamp on the ranch. This book contains so much more than just JJ’s he’s. When he figures out what makes him settle he can’t deny his feelings and decides it’s time to take action. JJ is a great character with depth and big feelings. I love the interaction with all the characters and the two love stories in one. Not going to spoil it, you will love it!

J.J. and Ruby's story is so great, I think this was a wonderful and waited for story. JJ was scared of his BFF's wrath about asking out his sister, but these two are so cute, and I love how you get a glimpse of other family members. The whole book gives you the ALL the feels and it is wonderful, it is scary to see when Tate got plowed by the bull, but it turns out and so cute how Tate and Clara get engaged. All around FABULOUS read!! IT is well written with great characters who are fleshed out well. Lots of side stories, just a really really fun read!

Great addition to the Three Rivers series by Liz Isaacson.
JJ is back at Seven Sons Ranch after graduating from college. He’s now scheduled to become the new controller and barn manager.
Tate is not only JJ’s best friend but also the brother of Ruby, who’s captured JJ’s heart but is off limits.
Tate is injured with broken ribs and Ruby comes to the ranch to help him. The attraction flames between JJ and Ruby, but also between Tate and Clara Jean, JJ’s sister.
Let the fun begin!

I have a love/hate relationship with the preview chapters Liz puts out for her next book. I love to read them and hate the wait. JJ and Ruby's story is a fun read with the unexpected twist of Ruby's brother Tate playing a different part than I imagined when reading the first couple chapters. JJ doesn't regret calling Ruby back after Tate keeps ignoring her call. It was a fun forbidden love story..."I wish that kiss wasn't a mistake..."

This was filled with so many curve balls, but wow they all became home runs. The love, the adventures, their belief in God yes the children that grown up that has made a life for their self and now has their future love.
You feel as you are part of these families, all 3 different ranches plus more.
I had to read the next one before leaving my review, cause I just couldn’t wait.

Love this series

I'm so enjoying this series and absolutely loved JJ and Ruby's story. We get a second romance in the book with Tate and Clara Jean. It was great to visit Three Rivers and the Walker's again. This author has a way of writing about a big family that just draws you in and makes you want to be a part of it. I anxiously await the next book in the series.

Absolutely loved this one! These second generation stories are so rich and full of depth. I loved JJ & Ruby’s love story. Adored the secondary one as well and the one of redemption woven in too! One of my favorite parts is the cowboy luncheons-where this second gen is making the time to get together & share life.

You get transported back to Three Rivers and get to rejoin the Walker family. If you love “brothers best friend” tropes, then you are in for a treat as we get to join not just one, but two couples! JJ and Ruby’s story is well written, and you get to revisit some of your favorite characters and places.

So Much Going On

Love is everywhere in this story! JJ and Ruby are front and center. Taye and Clara Jean came in second. Conrad had a new love in his life. Mitch loves his new vision and potential place. There's a lot of family, friends, emotions, and decisions going on. It ends well with the potential and possibilities there for the next book in the series.

JJ and Ruby exciting

This is a wonderful story. JJ has feelings for Ruby who is the sister of his best friend, Tate. Tate doesn't want JJ dating his sister. He said it would be weird. Also, Ruby has feelings for JJ but knows how her brother feels about her dating his friend. What a situation. Read this wonderful book to see the outcome.

I love reading about the Cowboys and their families and have been waiting for this book. I thoroughly enjoyed it and recommend it highly. In fact, I recommend all of Liz‘s books. I have not read one that I didn’t enjoy. Keep them coming!

A great read

I enjoyed this sweet clean romance set in a gorgeous Texas countryside with a lovely group of people. The characters feel so real, deal with real life situations and somehow find their way through.

This was a good read that I started last year but finally got around to finishing. This book has my absolute favorite trope in it - best friend’s little sister. With a slight age gap, this book is a good read. We met Ruby in a past book and I was very excited and hopeful for this matchup. This is a Christian contemporary romance with a cowboy and an interior designer. There are physical pains in this read and it covers a couple tough things about life, as most of Isaacson’s books do. We get a bit of a 2 for 1 in this read. This is a just kisses romance. 4.5 stars rounded up to 5.

I have always read Liz Isaacson's stories in order in a series and loved them. I picked this one up and read it without reading any of the others in the series. The two romances were wonderful but there were so many side characters that I didn't know that it was very distracting.

I truly love all these families, on all the different series and how they overlap into each one! You have to start at the beginning and it's so neat how as the years go by, Liz refers back to the beginning stories!
