I LOVED THIS BOOK!! I LOVED THIS SERIES! I LOVE THIS SHOW!!
4 seasons and 2 books was NOT enough! Super sad the other two novels in this series never made it to print. Catherine Hapka does an excellent job writing these characters. If you were a fan of the show you WILL love these books. This one was my favorite of the two mainly because it focused on racing and life on the back side of the track. Hapka's writing makes it easy to picture the characters and you easily become part of the story. A great racehorse mystery filled with horses, steamy guys and adventure. Only thing is these books are NOT LONG ENOUGH!! I legit wanted a thousand pages not 250.

So sad that the third book Riding Lessons was never published :(

My Review: Definitely an improvement from the previous book and Kris seemed more Kris in this one. I liked the building conflict even though you see it coming. Wildfire definitely played a bigger role, as did Todd (my favorites) but Pablo was still a little out of the picture. It is really too bad it is nearly impossible to find the next two books in the series (at least in the US) I would have liked to see if the series continued to get better.
