"On the verge of tears at certain points, only to have that chased away by excitement bubbling in my throat and a squeal threatening to break free of my control. The author took me on a journey I never expected. While most romance novels have the usual plot points, this one will surprise you.I started reading this book, not expecting anything spectacular. Just a run of the mill romance novel. I don't think I've ever been more surprised by what I found. I love the way the author captured the emotions of the characters and laid their hearts bare to the readers. Break Me is bound to shine in the romance genre, with a new take on love and relationships." -Night Owl Reviews, March 2014

Abigail Stevens, an efficient and no-nonsense editor for one of the biggest names in the romance novel industry, has a big problem. She's been desperately in love with Anthony Tate, Mr. Romance-Writer himself, for the last four years. She's settled for friendship and professional success for the last four years, but now the sexy writer needs something more from her and she can't find a reason to refuse.

Tony Tate has built a career centered on his identity as America's most romantic writer. That identity does not include a debauched temper tantrum in the aftermath of his very public break-up with his on-again, off-again girlfriend. Tony has known that Abby has had the hots for him since the moment they met, but when his Plain Jane best friend and controlling editor ends up being his only option to exorcise his demons and pent-up sexual frustration, he can't wait to break her prim and proper shell.

As Tony and Abby push each other farther than they've ever gone before, the question becomes, who will break whom?

Autumn Stark writes Erotic Romance with a sense of humor and a whole lotta steamy fun. Doesn’t mean there aren’t a few whips every now and then, but she’s a sucker for a happy ending. Autumn has been writing in one capacity or another her entire life, but Break Me is her debut novel.

Abigail Stephens

Abby first big break as an Editor was to take Tony from being an unknown author to a household name; and in the four years they’ve had together, she’s succeeded. She is a woman that holds many positions in Tony’s life; editor, personal assistant, chef, housekeeper, shrink and most importantly best friend. She has also been in love with Tony from the very first day she met him but sadly he keeps her firmly in the “friend” category.

Anthony Tate

Mr. Romance-Writer himself, owes everything to Abby, without her constant nagging and keeping him on track he wouldn’t be where he is today. He can always count on her for everything he needs; spoiled by her constant attention, he’s never let himself see her as a woman, knowing she is the only true friend he really has.

When Tony’s on-and-off again girlfriend, "Hurricane Joyce", drags his ego through the dirt, he is determined to get his grove back just to prove that he can. Thanks to his reputation he can’t just go around sleeping with any random women so settles for the one closest to him, Abby. Abby knows what he needs and sadly if this is the only way she can have him, then she will be everything he needs and more, allowing him to take what he needs from her body. Only he isn’t prepared for what he discovers, the Abby in his bed is not the same Abby he has known, making it harder for him to keep his hands off of her.
She knew she was nothing but a body to him, and that body wanted him to use her mercilessly.

What happens when he’s gotten his fill?

What happens when you give yourself so freely and get nothing in return?

Can you still look yourself in the mirror with the lies you tell yourself?

What happens when you break?

Break Me was truly a steamy-battle of the wills. Tony is a temperamental ass who is spoiled rotten by Abby; he is gorgeous and he knows it, using it to get everything he wants. Abby is a controlling-efficient-professional who lets her-self be used by the man she loves. Their relationship at first bothered me, I was pissed at them both for what they were doing to each other but then the more I thought about it, I realized they were both at fault; using each other selfishly with completely different end goals. You never really appreciate what you had until it's all gone. Putting aside the idiotic decisions, this was still an enjoyable read.

Dear Lord...where to start?

I really tried to get into this...but so much was just so wrong.

Tony Tate, famous romance author is a complete ass! Not a dom or confident man...just a flat out jerk. Abby is a complete fool...his long time friend/editor has watched him f*** countless women all while harboring a serious crush. She has spent her life "taking care of him" When he goes thru a break up his "need" to control the situation is soothed with a night of harsh no holds barred sex with Abby. I mean "face down" pounding with not a bit of heat. I mean this is a man who says things like "Oh, alright. Mostly I'm just pi**ed. I haven't written anything in weeks and I can't figure out why I keep wasting time on Joyce. I know she'll be back."

There is no talking about feelings after screwing like animals, just continued random sex acts over weeks performed in attempts to dominate one another...Tony uses Abby repeatedly. Alas, she blurts the dreaded "i love you"...well shut the front door...out you go, ummm, Tony wants his ex back! (not really, but it was stated)

Finally...Abby says hell no and leaves him...YES, this is where I can start appreciating the read,

well, nope...it just gets worse! Tony literally waits out Abby...Abby says no...Tony waits, Abby says go away...Tony waits...Abby hooks up with him...Tony waits...Abby pouts....Tony waits...Abby gets man...Tony waits...Abby cries insecure tears...Tony waits!

UGH! Well, I was hoping for a good dom man with a good story...a bad boy falls for good girl. A true love story with some angst set in a literary world. Unfortunately Tony was a complete ass...nothing he did was sexy or a turn on. Abby was overall pathetic. If they ended up together, who knows I stopped at 95%....I just didn't care.

3 stars!

Tony is a best-selling author along the veins of Nicholas Sparks. Abigail was his no-nonsense editor and default "best friend". Anyway, Abigail is of course in love with Tony. But Tony on the other was in love with his on and off actress girlfriend. Their relationship was comfortable until Tony and actress girlfriend broke up. Abigail suddenly found herself being the object of Tony's lust.

Of course, we all know how this ends. Girl wants more in a relationship but guy is too much of a douche to give his whoring ways, pushes the heroine away. Hurt heroine flounces off to another place while hero "realizes" he lurves her and goes off after her. He grovels. She resists. He grovels some more. She resists some more...and so on.

Yes, this was a little predictable. And Tony was a serious jerk but he grovelled. And grovelled well he did. Abigail was a doormat but grew a little backbone towards the end. I enjoyed it. The editing was spotty in some places but nothing too jarring. Overall, a nice predictable friends to lovers romance.

Break Me is my first book by Autumn and I know it won't be my last . Autumn's ability to create a hero that can both infuriate you and yet, keep you falling for him is masterful. Our heroine is a fun, sassy woman that proves she is more than a match for our hero! I cannot wait for Connor to have his story told! You might need a cold shower after this one! :-)

Oh Tony what am I going to do with you? "Give me a break, Abby. I'm a man in the throes of emotional pain over here." Abby turned from her task long enough to pin him in place with the testy arch of one eyebrow. "Oh, alright. Mostly I'm just pi**ed. I haven't written anything in weeks and I can't figure out why I keep wasting time on Joyce. I know she'll be back." Abby has the best wake up calls, "she rode him slowly as he woke up. "This is a great way to wake up." He can be harsh, "it's not supposed to, Abby. We're just going to eff until I'm tired of it. "Tony slid down her body until he could spread her legs with his forearms." There were times I hated to love Tony but I really did love that boy once he got his head out of his a**.

I know this book is shelved as romance, but I think it's more contemporary erotic romance, for the relationship between Abby and Tony relied heavily on the rough sex they had. And I'm sorry to say, that's pretty much what the book is about.

Abby is a workaholic editor for Tony the Romance Wiz. As well as being Tony's editor, she's his caretaker, assistant, babysitter, housekeeper and probably some other things in between. Added more recently, his fuck buddy, pardon my French. I don't have to say how much the plot intrigued me when I first read it, about a no nonsense editor and her self involved author hitting it on, but starting from the beginning I was disappointed. For one thing, there wasn't much romance in the story to suck me in. The sex was hot, I'll give Abby and Tony that, but the romance-since Tony's supposed to realize how much Abby means to him- was lacking. I didn't sense any sincerity in their relationship, despite Tony's efforts to make Abby believe that he fell in love with her. I get where Abby was coming from in her disbelief considering Tony's been a womanizer for the four years she's known him, but I felt she started her arguments for all the wrong reasons. While I thought she was being disrespected and used by Tony and thus fumed where I sat, she took it like it was no big deal, and made a scene and stood up for herself just when the guy was cleaning his act. If this wasn't bad timing, I don't know what is. Of course when she did that, she came out as the childish and irrational one, even though she might've been right had she set her foot down when she should've. One of the most frustrating things about a character is a back and forth approach they take on anything, and I'm sorry but this was exactly what Abby did. She didn't seem like a strong heroine either, with her constant self doubt and her need of approval from others, mainly Tony. I get an emotionally weak personality, but for me as a reader to come to relate to that character is through her discovery of her inner strength. Unfortunately Abby never reaches that point and that fails her as a good heroine in my eyes.
Tony, on the other hand, was the more predictable character. He took a turn from being the womanizer to the one-woman man, and though it wasn't the best of transformations, I can't say it was that bad compared to Abby's flailing emotions.

Like I mentioned earlier, the sex was hot. It was just the right amount of rough sex, the fantasy of being dominated by the man, but the spice is not enough to suck me in the story on its own. Especially if I'm looking for romance. Everything started out the way I enjoyed and was looking forward to, the self centered hero and the heroine who had it enough with his usual selfishness, and just when I was ready for the turn from lust to love, I found myself having already made the turn and I haven't even realized it. I don't particularly enjoy being left out of all the fun of seeing the hero suffer.

As is the case with many series first books, I haven't lost all hope. I'm already thinking of how the next book could go, I even have hopes for another potential couple. I do hope, while keeping the sexiness the same, the romance can be taken up a notch without sacrificing any relatable characteristics of both the hero and the heroine.

Break Me by Autumn Stark

Abigail Stevens is an editor who got here big break with Anthony Tate. He was a no name writer until Abby stepped in and made him Mr. Romance himself and a household name. The last four years with him she has held many positions in his life, other then editor, she was and is a personal assistant, chef, maid, shrink and the most important for both her and Tony she is his best friend. She also has been in love with him from the first day they met, but he keeps her as a friend only. What happens when Tony breaks up with his on-again off again mess of a girlfriend and he wants to break his prim and proper editor? By break he wants to just up his pent-up sexual frustration.

Break Me is a battle of wills that boils over with hot steamy emotions. Tony falls to Lust and Abby to Love, but it’s all because Tony is too dumb to understand that he wants Abby in more ways than just lust. At first I was kind of put off by the relationship they created, but overtime it grows and you see it, so it works after you read the whole book. The sex in this book was very well written and the tension was amazing. The first 10 pages had a sex scene that I am still thinking about, that’s how good it is.

Autumn Stark did wonders with this as her debut novel, it was well written, new and something I have never read before. I can’t wait to read her next one! 4 out of 5 stars.

Ugh. Mr. Romance Tony is anything but. He is a selfish, whiny, insecure, immature a**. For me there was no finding a redeeming quality to this man. Strike one. Abigail is that, an abigail (waiting-woman) who waits on Tony in some cases, hand and foot and everything else. A doormat of the worst kind. She bends over backwards (literally in some instances) because he did help make her career and, oh, she's in love with him even though he is a jerk. Strike two. Currently in the off position on his on-off relationship, he decides to take his sexual frustration out on Abigail in various (and I mean a whole lot) ways and, ahem, positions. She lets him! Egads! When she finally wakes up to smell the (stale) coffee...she runs away. Then he realizes he was in love with her the whole time and runs after her! Really?!? What ensues is a cringe-worthy series of groveling events that eventually lands the jerk and doormat together in a HEA. I could not relate nor get into it. Sorry.

Attractive, charming, and one of the nation's most popular romance authors, you'd think Tony Tate's life is pretty set -- especially since he's not interested in any form of settling down, and a superficial, tumultuous relationship with a Hollywood actress seems to the perfect fit. He's never given his no-nonsense editor a second thought beyond the fact that Abby keeps his chaotic life in check. When their relationship starts to unravel and reveal something much more intimate, however, Tony realizes too late that he's in for a wild ride...

Autumn Stark's writing is clean and free of clutter, giving the reader plenty of room to roam. You'll need the breathing space once you start following Tony and Abby's relationship, because it's a force of nature as unpredictable and inexplicable as a storm.

When I think erotica this is exactly what Ero-ticA should be. Without a doubt it had my mind swirling and body humming.

Why? or Why would you want to break someone? This question weight heavy on my mind throughout my reading. Tony just confused me and his blindness to all Abby was and could be to him. Or could this have been his defense against falling in love. How novel a romance writer avoiding love?

Men fall prey to lust (Tony). Women fall prey to love (Abby) and all that goes along with it. Lust is fleeting but LOVE, Love is all consuming as we find out with Abby's and Tony's relationship.

This is a page turner for me. I did not want to put it down.

Thanks, Net Galley.

I thought the beginning of this book was a little boring and didn't really grab my interest. But I continued reading nonetheless. What followed was a pretty steamy sex scene…I mean it was HOT. Then there was another...and another...and another...Yeah there was some business stuff in between (he is an author and she's his editor, among other things) but it just kept coming back to them having sex, sex and more sex. Behind all of the sex though, I thought there was a good story.

Once the sex scenes became minimal, I found that I was more interested in reading the story. I liked that compared to other books I have read, their relationship seemed to happen backwards- lots of fucking that eventually lead to them actually getting together.

Break Me is the first book by author Autumn Stark.

The story is about Abigail Stevens who is an editor for romance novel publisher who is in love with one of the company's hottest writer's Tony Tate...yes a guy! Abby has had to hide her feelings for Tony for the last four years.

The book has alot of sexual frustration on both characters part. Both characters try to cover up their feelings for each other even though Tony has know that Abby has had feelings for him for a while.

This book was very good it was fun, kicky,(not kinky)... sexy read for all that will read it. Very enjoyable book.

Tony and Abby--/ where to start? Tony was selfish and inconsiderate toward Abby. In his defense, she let him treat her like a doormat. Then when she finally sees the light, she runs away. Tony follows. It took him a long time to get it, partly because Abby expected him to be a mind reader. Not enough grovel for me, but in the end I actually liked the story and the characters. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series about the best friends

This was very bad, not the writing style, the story itself and the moron characters. I mean, what more can you want than a spineless, no self esteem heroine and an asshole, selfish hero, am I right??!!(rhetorical question duhh). My actual rating is 0.5 and I gave the half point only because the protagonists are perfect for each other in the sense they are both just plain awful.

A complimentary copy was provided by Netgalley on behalf of Books with Benefits Press in exchange for a honest review.

I am going to begin this review by saying that I liked the story that was told in this novel. I mean I didn’t necessarily like Anthony Tate in the beginning of this story but he definitely grew on me. He was a romance writer and a certified man-child that wanted everything his way and low and behold enters Abigail Stevens, his editor to cook, scheduler, best friend, and maid to clean up all of his messes from grammar to women, she was his ride or die chick who was hopelessly and helplessly falling in love with him.

From the moment she laid eyes on him, Abby was hooked and Tony knew exactly what kind of effect he had on her. Through all of his highs, lows, and in between, Abby provided Tony with any and every thing he needed to get his next best seller on the shelves. However, when Tony feels the sting of humiliation as his on again off again girlfriend turns down his proposal and is photo’d with the latest “IT” boy, his need to feel in control of his life turns into Abby’s kinktastic fantasy; her ultimate want since meeting him.

Tony literally has his way with Abby and believes that it’s his right to do so and Abby lets him because she feels obligated. So what happens when needs and wants collide? A hot mess, that leave Abby vanishing and Tony losing his mind to find her and thus, the love story begins.

I really enjoyed this novel. There were a few twists and turns that kept the story of Abby and Tony exciting and me rooting for them to have their happy ending. There were laughs and awes and “I can’t believe he just did that” to keep you turning the pages. The characters were well developed from Abby to Tony to all of the supporting characters from Tony’s best friend to Abby brothers, even the ones that were just a storyline phone call away. I could empathize with some of the feelings and thoughts that were sprinting around in Abby’s head and heart.

Overall, I would recommend this book to someone into a little bit of kinky hotness and a lot bit of swoon worthy romantically notions. However, I could not help but think another story from this novel is on the horizon and then at the end I see it…Book Two… YES!!!

I digress. Run and read Break me, it will not disappoint you.

This story was gifted to me in exchange for an honest review. I glanced through the reviews that it had gotten before reading and I was stumped, they were all over the place. It had a catchy blurb, sounded like fun, so I decided to give it a go.
WOW, I was certainly glad that I did, this story rocked.
Abigail Stephens is the editor for Anthony Tate, she has been his boss and has secretly loved him for four years. She has made him into the superstar household name that he is today. She is a tough editor and a fantastic publicity organizer.
Anthony Tate has been dating Joyce Page a 22 year old off and on for a while when she dumps him again. Abby is his best friend, his confidente and after he sees a newspaper picture of Joyce with a new guy he turns to Abby for comfort. Only this time it gets sexual. Abby is unable to deny him anything, she thinks it is her job to fulfill all of Tony's needs, and she justifies it by saying this is just another need.
"I need this right now" he says.
Surprise, surprise they have the best sex of his life, his little Abby likes things a little rough and they have sex on the couch, the bed and in the shower. But the next day.
"We're not going to talk about this Abby because it is never going to happen again."
Abby and Tony make love constantly, but never talk about it or admit to any emotions. He takes her how he wants, when he wants and where he wants. Abby is totally in love and having the time of her life, until she realizes that he is not sharing with her, that he is just using her, then she is devastated.
I was totally captivated by this story. I thought that it had tremendous depthy to it. Abby was so believable . " I am giving you what you need, because I can't give you what you want. " I loved how there was an element of roughness and a bit of edge to the love scenes. They were certainly steamy.
I appreciated the battle both of them had to come to grips on how they feel and what was ultimately important to them. Joyce the ex-girlfriend shows up and adds a little bit of angst to the story line as well. I loved Abby, she went after what she wanted but then backed away when the depth of feeling was missing. I am unable to provide any more spoilers, I recommend you reading the book yourself to discover the ending. I would rate this book 5/5 and will read more by this author.

In a nutshell: When a man finds himself rejected, he embarks on a domination relationship with his trustworthy assistant. Full of wild passion, redeeming love and emotional turmoil, this story is not for the faint-hearted but for the adventurous and thrill-seeking.

Abigail Stephens is responsible for the success of author Anthony Tate. Working for a publishing company and assigned to Tony, Abby goes above and beyond to make him a household name. Abby built the empire of Mr. Romance in 4 years and is extremely dedicated to her job. Hiding behind the love of her job, Abby has loved Tony from the first time they met. Sadly Mr. Tate is oblivious, taking what he wants when he wants it is the norm for this best selling author. A turn of events opens the door for these two. Even though both promised nothing during their sex-capades, feelings come to surface from both Abby and Tony. Realizing he doesn’t want to lose Abby he steps out of his norm and defies his stereotypes.
The read was slightly predictable and quick. For example, Tony turns his interest toward the bimbo that is familiar with fame, prenups and doesn’t want kids. Then later realizing the one he wants was always around in the first place, Abby. And as the plot thickened, Abby did go back and forth a lot in her dilemma. One minute she loved Tony, then the next she hated him, then love again, then used him like no other. So brace yourself for that bit of the book. Another hiccup in my review is the format in which the book was given to me to review. There were page breaks with BREAK ME and AUTUMN STARK randomly. I switched fonts and font size and it didn’t seem to fix it. There would also be random spaces in dialogue and I had to pay attention to where the quotations began and ended. In their defense it may just be the format. Apart from those things, I did like the book. I would recommend this book to the working mothers that want to escape for a few hours. Personally I am looking forward to All In, book 2 in the In Plain Sight Series since my favorite outspoken character of Jay can get his chance at love. 3.5 Smooches for Break Me by Autumn Stark.

Break Me by Autumn Stark
*was gifted a copy in exchange for an honest review

BREAK ME is the debut, erotica novel by Autumn Stark. For a first novel, it was not bad. I was excited about the story line and it sounded very interesting with a new twist, which I am always looking for. Abigail Stevens, Abby, and Anthony Tate, Tony, have been working and traveling together for four years. You get the feeling that Tony is kind of a Nicholas Sparks kind of writer and Abby, who is his editor, has been in love with him from the very beginning. One day Tony and his “crazy” girlfriend break up and Abby steps in to fulfill Tony’s appetite for sex.
As far as the sex scenes, they are a little crude for my taste and even though Abby loves Tony, it is not really reflected until the very end. I just could not really connect with these two. Abby was such a doormat and Tony was an arrogant back end. I mean, I get a no strings attached relationship but there were already lots of strings. I wanted to know more about the characters and their reasons why they were doing what they were doing. I got Abby’s motivation to some degree but I just missed Tony’s motivation completely. I kept reading, hoping I would like them and in the end, it was better.
Autumn Stark has great potential and I could see where she was trying to go. However, the story was slow when I wanted it to pick up and fast where I wanted it to slow down. It just seemed rushed at the end. I loved the secondary characters. Abby’s brothers are great and so is her best friend. I loved them the most and connected with them. Again, for a first novel, it was not bad and I would read more by Autumn Stark.

Break Me by Autumn Stark
4 out of 5 Stars

Although he's self-centered, shallow, and somewhat of an a-s at times Anthony Tate could break me any day! Holy Moly, the sex is H-O-T, hot in Stark's scenes between Romance writer Tony and his publisher/personal assistant/woman who has loved him for the last 4 years Abby! While she's focused her life on his success and keeping her love hidden, he has had many on again off again relationships with "Bimbo Barbies" and come to completely rely on Abby for stability and friendship. When it gets taken a little to far and Abby can't hide her feeling any longer, Tony smarts off and she runs. Realizing too late that Abby is more than a friend, he sets out to right a wrong that he'd been compounding for years; the question is will Abby forgive him?

Overall, I truly enjoyed the book and read it in one setting. The reason it is 4 instead of 5 stars is because I just felt there was no background on Tony, nothing to help you understand why he was so great at understanding Romance novels but absolutely stunk where women were concerned. He also never just spoke the truth, even though he had three other male characters pointing him in the right direction, then at the very end, the truth sets him free. While these things were disappointingly lacking, I will be watching for the next book in the story because I did greatly enjoy the side character development Stark laid out! Jay and Parker, Tony and Abby's best friends respectively will be an exciting story, as would her brother’s stories!

I enjoyed this book a bunch. It was such a great little love story. We start off with Abby an editor who is looking to make a name for herself. When she is given her first assignment, she is truly shocked at what she finds behind the door of a romance author. That's when she meets the sexy Tony.

After 4 years of working with tony, Abby has fallen head over heals in love with him. Tony has noticed that Abby has some feelings for him but he is not into Abby that way he enjoys being friends and does not want the friendship to change.

One night tony gets some news that makes him so angry that he needs to release some pent-up emotional stress... and Abby was caught in his cross hair. Abby did not complain because she was finally getting what she wanted even though she knew she just being used. But when things started to change and it becomes more then just sex, everything goes down hill. Can they work through the problems or do they walk away and end it.

What a great read... It had every thing I love in a great romance book...hot steamy sex. Plus I loved the male roll in this book, he was hot and he knew what he wanted . Abby made me mad with her I love him but I'm going to push you away .

Over all great read. I can't wait for the part2.. All In.

I would recommend this for readers over 18+

I would rate this 4 out of 5 fangs.

I got this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review..

This book was a very quick read. There was a lot of sex in this book, and it was easy to follow. I knew how it was going to end, but well you cannot really complain about smut book..

This book is about an editor named Abby. She got her first big time job with a new author. he was a drama queen. The first day they meet she was in awe of him and he shut the door in his face. She then continued to knock on his door until he answered the door, and she then took over his life.

Tony was now a star romance writer thanks to Abby. she did everything for him. picked up his clothes, cleaned his house, fixed his romance trouble. She was his boss for 4 years now, and they were like best friends. One day Tony was heart broken because his young bimbo actress broke up with him because he proposed to her. He was now in a writing slump.

Abby loved Tony. she wanted him from day one, but she watched him from afar. She would do anything for him. That even included being is "fuck buddy" until he got over his reading slump. Well, this sex marathon lasted longer than she thought and feelings continued to get deeper.

Things will get heated when Abby proclaims her love for tony, but will a bitter ex girlfriend change the way these two feel about each other? will drama it the better of them?

Break Me
Autumn Stark

This ARC was given by Books With Benefits Press via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I give this book 3 stars.....

Abby has loved Tony for a couple of years now, however she is his editor and must maintain professionalism. Tony is the number one romance writer in America and is incredibly hot. She is a successful editor for a very well known publishing house and knows her hot fantasies can only remain that of a fantasy. However, when Tony breaks up with his famous on and off girlfriend she offers her support in a way she has never offered.

Tony always relies on his editor to do things for him. However, he never thought sub-missing to his sexual needs would ever be an option. He realizes that Abby is hot and beautiful and hides behind ugly pant suits. Her offering of her body gives him immediate comfort and the ability to forget his ex. He knows this arrangement can only be temporary, however he finds that he is possessive of her and won't share her with anyone.

Once Abby realizes it will always only be about sex, she walks away from him and her beloved job. Tony instantly regrets his decision and now has to go out and find her. He eventually finds her hiding at her brother's cabin in Washington, but know it will be a difficult time getting her to believe it was more than just sex.

2.5 Stars
Because it was entertaining.

Well I don't know how to say this nicely but I kind of hated the first few chapters and was close to giving up this book but then I saw that I had read only around 33% of it so I decided to hang on.

Surprised that it finally started getting better and making sense. Overall, It's entertaining but not the best romance novel/erotica or whatever it is around. Not a huge fan of the fact that the characters were not well developed in the beginning.

There is an alternative point of view in this novel but it's a little confusing cause they don't switch chapter wise. It's kind of paragraph wise and we get insight into the minds of characters that are not the main characters as well.

The book kind of goes like.
*MINOR SPOILERS*
My name is this and this is how I met this guy and we're like besties but I like like him and then stuff happens and now we're totally hooking up in the first 20% of this book. Same goes for the guy's POV.

I'm sorry but I would like to read about how and why you guys are such good friends in the beginning and NOT the end or towards the end.

This book was a really hard read the writing didn't seem to flow easily at all for me, very stiff dialogue.
Now let's get to the characters, Tony is a self absorbed ass who doesn't care a rats ass about anyone really, Abby she's a stiff professional woman who looses all self resect to be Tonys play thing. I just didn't get there relationship at all.
There seems to be know feelings just continued random sex acts over weeks performed in attempts to dominate one another...Tony uses Abby repeatedly.
Then the words of death to a guy like Tony fly from Abby's mouth ' I love you' , how fast can Tony get her out of the door and to get back to his ex. WTH.
Then we have lots of back and forth between Abby and Tony, there are tears she send him away, takes him back sends him away, a this point I'm just thinking do I even care if they get together.
This shouldn't be considered a love story, Tony is alway an ass and I just found Abby to be pathetic. There was no sexy romance just all out annoyance for me.

I wondered about this book. The writing was good and the characters were good!! They had me laughing and at one part crying. It was emotional when Abby's heart was broken!! Anthony is the star writer and does well until things get frustrating for him and he wants to take it out on a warm womanly body. Abby has been a constant for him. She has always been there and why not now!! The scenes are hot and Abby is a strong character. She finally walks away from him with good reason and holds her ground well. I am glad that she was strong, BUT Abby just took it to far in the end. I did not want her to give in easy and would have given it 4 stars if it wasn't for this part. Needless to say, I would have liked to find out what happened to Joyce after the press conference to see the aftermath. Well, all that being said it was a good read! Emotions were high in parts of this book. Fast Read!!

I received this ARC from the author via Net Galley for my honest review. Thank You, Net Galley!

This was an okay read for me. To begin with, the cover is hot and I liked the use of the color pink against the gray. The book blurb peaked my interest, so between the cover and the blurb, I wanted to read this book.

By page 8 or 9 of this novella, the two main characters, book editor Abigail Stevens and romance author Anthony Tate, have mind-blowing, rough sex. The scene is well written and the sexual tension is amazing. Abby has been in love with Tony since she became his book editor four years ago and made him a household name. Tony only sees Abby as his colleague and sometimes even his personal maid. Naturally, their sexual encounter changes their relationship forever.

I found the story to be one-dimensional and lacking back-story. I liked Abby's brother Connor, because Ms. Stark provided definition to his life, which made him easy to identify with. This is the first book I have read by Ms. Stark and I plan to read more in the future.

I first must say I loved not having to read 100 plus pages for a 2 page sex scene. I am not a fan of all the build up and no real action.
Abby's character is more relatable than I think most will like to admit. She is a strong and confident person who has insecurities with herself like the rest of us.
As for Tony, its true he can come off as dickish at times. However, from the beginning he is presented as a stand up guy in so many other aspects. He even represents this with his inner battle of treating Abby like an easy lay just because she is in sight. If he were this perfect guy who always did and said the right thing it wouldn't be a believable story of employer/friend transitioning into sexual benefits that become the realization of love.
I loved reading this and really enjoyed the relatability to the characters as well as the storyline. I highly suggest this to the raunchy romance lover.

This story broke me. If you need a good cathartic cry (or a couple of them) this is for you. Ok, maybe I'm just a crybaby but it made me cry so hard it felt good. This is the first Autumn Stark I've read but I have the next two in the series coming up to bat. If they continue on in the same vein (and writing style) I will be one extremely happy camper. Don't get me wrong....it's not only a tear fest...it has it's own comedic relief and a bunch of sarcasm to get you over the rough spots. But the author did an excellent job of developing complex characters that the reader can connect to emotionally. You will care about what happens to Abby and Tony. I dare you to try not to. Along the way she introduces some of the characters you're going to want to read more about as the series continues. Just take my advice and add this one to your list (and maybe let it jump towards the front of the line). You can thank me later.
