Perhaps it was just too early in my Chinese language learning process but I found this very hard to understand. It didn't seem to have an intuitive ordering of information but again, it may have been better for the more advanced students.
So far I've read the first 80 pages and I've felt like I learned a lot. The fact that some verbs like 喜欢 are stative verbs and so can't be directly modified with 了 or 过 was something that I had never learned before. Sometimes the examples are overly brief and the explanations might leave you with an incorrect perception of what isn't grammatical. For example, it presents the structure 差不多 + number + classifier, but doesn't mention that you can also optionally have a noun after, for 差不多 + number + classifier + noun, unlike with number + classifier + 左右 which can't accept a noun. It also says that default objects are mandatory, with the example of 吃饭, but you can say “你吃饭了吗?” which does not have a default object. This book seems quite good so far, but I feel that you can't take everything it says about ungrammaticality at face value, when it doesn't explicitly provide an example sentence that's marked as ungrammatical. It'd be good to double check what it says with a native speaker and/or reading example sentences on Ichacha.net. I think I'd benefit more from a book that was more comprehensive, rather than reading half-truths from here and having to try to piece together in-depths details of Chinese grammar from other sources.
What I like about the book is the examples are written in traditional Chinese, simplified Chinese, and pinyin. It is for intermediate level, has adequate amount of examples and exercises to practice. What it lacks is illustration, which makes the book a bit dry and could be somewhat boring.
Great reference. The explanations are clear and concise. If you have a firm grasp of English grammar, this book will be a good supplement to work in conjunction with a textbook.
Probably aimed at upper beginner / lower intermediate students, this is an excellent, very clear explanation of Chinese grammar.
It has a large number of example sentences, using both simple and traditional characters, along with pinyin. There are plenty of questions, to review your understanding.
I wouldn't recommend this as a primary textbook, and probably not for a class assignment. However, as a resource to use at home, supplementing the textbooks, this is an excellent book.
Good ebook to learn chinese grammar for beginners students, sons like it. El libro está bien didáctico sin embargo me agradaría que disponga de audio con la pronunciación
