Such a good read and well written with snippet glimpses from the future in his old home with the high princess getting ready to board a federation ship which is going to drop a few well placed bombs to give the impression that the planets been devastated,Then you are whisked back in time a thousand years where you are going to kidnap the Emperor’s eldest son and his wife on one of the longest trips that slade has done to drop them off on a lonely moon .
Since Julie took over the reins of writing from her late farther she has carried on his legacy of sending you off in your minds eye to strange worlds/moons with plenty of action and what ifs that’s going to happen in between the first chapter to the last one ,It’s taken me two hectic days to read this book and I was so disappointed that I had read the best book of the year so far ( and I’ve read a lot )and had to wait 1month until the next instalment followed a few months later by yet another book and Cnt wait to find out what happens to slades merry band and long lost family ,don’t get me wrong the books are not pounded out so fast the story suffers with poor storytelling on the contrary each book is well written and just leave you wanting more of her fantastic story telling And I Cnt wait to see what other great books are coming from Julie Weir Thomas /Raymond Weir ,

Excellent continuation of the studio

Julie has done a fantastic job of keeping her father's universe alive. She brings her own touch to this saga but while I have only chatted with her father a few times via social media I think he would be proud. I wasn't sure about the first person point of view type of story telling but it works.n it's still engaging and thought provoking. Looking forward to the next book!

consistent building of the backstory

Enjoying these additions to the Weil series. Fun to get insight from the author on how these things would play out. Can’t wait until the story merges with the original storyline where the Empire sees their crown prince for the first time on Falton 2.

The plot thickens!

The Federation is painfully discovering it has a bigger problem than refugees. Nail bitting action and suspense abound. New friends are now in the picture and old enemies are just as rotten as expected. And the storyline is converging as I expected. I look forward to the next chapter in this great saga. Great storytelling, Julie!

Good continuation of Raymond weils great sf saga

More stories and tales about rebels, the Federation, the Empire and saving the human race among the intrigues of power struggles, warring alien races. The saga continues. A touch pg but good reading and great characters. Julie does a nice job following in her dad's footsteps.
