I’m an omega.
I’m forced to be invisible.
Silent, scentless…empty.
Unwanted.
My mates view me the same.
I’m nothing to them.
An annoyance.
Something sad for them to scoff at.

I can handle their rejection.
But my omega can’t.
With each harsh word, eye roll, and cold shoulder,
I’m getting weaker.

I’m not a person,
I’m an omega.

A slave to my instincts and pain.
A victim of the Academy.
A perfect match they don’t want.

I’m rejected every day.
There’s only so much this omega can take.
And I’m almost out of time.

Authors Note:
This is book 1 of the Invisible Omega Duet. You’ll find MPOV, MM content, and dark themes in this Omegaverse. This broken omega struggles to survive the constant rejection of her three alphas and one beta, leaving us with slow-burn, grovel vibes. MMFMM. ABOAA. Trigger Each book is recommended for those 18+ due to sexual content, bullying (by love interests), drugging, and omega experimentation.
A further detailed list will be included in the forward.

So, I don't usually write a ton of reviews but the subvert racism in this book made me extremely uncomfortable. One of the Alphas is Black - and if you don't know that, it's pointed out. OFTEN. "Chocolate skin," "all chocolatey," "the dark Alpha," "dark-skinned," etc. Even his aura is "dark." His genitals are even called out as dark! More goes into describing his skin than the physical looks of the other three leads.

And then, because this is an omegaverse, guess what his Alpha scent is? Brown sugar and dark chocolate. Double cringe. And at one point, he muses how he's the best one to go on a night mission because of the color of his skin.

Not sure if the author checks reviews, but she might want to get a sensitivity reader ASAP and make some edits.

The idea was interesting. Unfortunately that’s the only thing that worked for me. The characters were unlikeable, the dialogue was choppy, and the execution needed some work. There was no development plot wise or character wise, no depth, and no believable connection.

There's the bones of a decent dystopian omegaverse here. Unfortunately it reads like it was written by a 14yo who just read Evelyn Flood's Omega War series and is writing a fan fic tribute.

Lots of potential, but terrible execution. Aside from issues with grammar in almost every paragraph, the vast majority of the book is exposition, and it is not subtle. In fact, at one point the main character directly addresses the readers and tells them off for thinking she's weak. Ironically, her conduct was the one thing that made sense in the novel. She should have been more defensive over the fact that none of the world building makes sense.

Omegas are punished to the point it seems ridiculous. If its to control them, sure, not original, but whatever. Tropes are tropes for a reason. However if you're going to beat down your potential sex slaves, then starving them and conducting medical experiments on them is a great way to kill them and lose your investment. Putting them in a mixed school makes no sense at all. It really feels like the author wanted bully porn where the heroine is special because shes sooooo hurt but didn't consider how this would actually work in the greater world. Everyone who isn't a main character feels like a cardboard cut out evil villain or just a blank silhouette. The main characters honestly are only a slight improvement on that.

It also pissed the hell out of me when the FMC despairs that her mates don't love her without her scent, and can't tell by looking at her that she's their mate. Look, lady, the whole point of scent matches from a metaphorical point of view is that they are an extreme version of attraction through superficial sensorial input (I.e. someone is pretty, so you're attracted to them). Complaining that they don't love you for your looks (especially when you can't control what you look like in this environment, so no personality is involved) when they don't know you at all renders it pointless. Looks or scent, it doesn't matter. Neither of those things are you and the emphasis placed on them in this book (the MCs never really seem to care about her personality and only ever mention how pretty she is) is just another little misogynistic cut added to the other thousand.

With that said, there are a few clever parts to this, like the interaction between the FMC and her omega, and I hope the author keeps improving with subsequent books. Wider reading would also probably help.

Great Feels but One Plot Hole

So I loved the characterization of this novel. The 3 Alphas are written beautifully distinct and colorful. They didn’t seem cookie cutter or interchangeable at all, which makes this story an enjoyable read. The Beta is given a truly fleshed out presence and personality. The relationship between the POC Alpha and the Beta gives this story a very sweet layer. It made me laugh and cry in places and you really get the feel of a dystopian future (or considering that I live in the US like an Omegean Now) but there’s one glaring plot hole that’s never solved or mentioned.

Why do they stay?

*Spolier Alert!!*

So the whole story is about how these College Kids go to a college that is basically like a concentration camp for Omegas and a League One School for Alphas and Betas. When the Alphas and Beta wake up to how messed up the school is why don’t they leave? I mean is there no governing authority, media or executive ruling body that they can report the atrocities to? Why do they have to stay?

People drop out of college all the time for personal reasons; there’s nothing on that campus that prevents the Alphas or Betas from leaving, just they can’t come back if they leave. So why don’t they just leave? Is it for money reasons? Or some type of social obligation they have to fill? I just don’t get it. They can leave, get help or leave and sneak the omega out with them.

Earlier there’s a flash back of an Omega finding her mates at the entrance ceremony, the mates and Omega are tased and taken away never to be seen again. You’re telling me no one left after physical violence being done to students the day they arrive and it’s not told to a governing body? Or the media? Like just a paragraph address why they all voluntarily stay at the hell hole would be enough.

I just know if I was in that position I would have told my mates what was up and left immediately. What’s education compared to your life? Especially education that you don’t need, college is voluntary. You don’t need a degree, is it helpful? Yes. Does it make a professional life easier? Yes. But do you absolutely need to go to college? Especially one specific college? No.

This definitely was not a bad book at all. It was overall an enjoyable reading experience, and I will more than likely try out book two.

I really enjoyed the plot. It was interesting and different from almost every other omegaverse I've read. You're left in the dark for a good chunk of the book to what's actually going on and that makes it much harder to put down because you absolutely just need to know?? The pacing was a little bit all over the place but only in some areas, so it didn't detach much from the story and was pretty easy to ignore.

All of the characters have their own distinct personalities and each of them lends a lot to the story. It for sure wouldn't be as strong if even just one was missing and I really love it when all of the characters feel important. They did tend to get a little over dramatic in some places, mostly with the alphas. They went 0 to 100 really quick and then back down to 0 and it just went a smidge on the unnecessary side.

I think my biggest issue was the spelling and grammatical errors. They weren't horrendous but you do for sure notice them. It really is worth the read! I have high hopes for book two and will more than likely check that out as well because I'm so engaged with the plot and that CLIFFHANGER. 😭 It'll drive me crazy.

Misleading and Juvenile.

I really try not to leave reviews these days if they’re below three stars, but I don’t want others to jump for this book like I did with excitement, just for you to also realize it’s bad.

There is no rejection, no real bullying, and the plot is full of holes that don’t make any sense.

The males have no idea that she’s their mate. You can’t reject or mistreat what you don’t know.
One of them was slightly mean to her by calling her “Frail Fraya”, two were kind and tried to know her for years, the last one, she just met.

I could go on and on about all of the contradictions, plot holes, and juvenile writing, but I don’t want to waste anymore time on this book.

Just don’t read it.

Perfect Omegaverse

I love Y.V. Larson's books and when she announced she was going to be doing a first Omegaverse, I was all in and couldn't wait to read. She blew it out of the park with this book. I absolutely loved it.

Freya is an Omega and she is at an academy where they have the Omegas basically be invisible and mask their scents. Do not want them interacting too much with the Alphas or Betas and have them act like they are the lowest of them all. The Alphas and Betas are being taught that the omegas are pretty much useless and not good for much. Freya was happy when she first got there and also when she found her scent matches except after witnessing something horrible she decides to keep it to herself that she has scent matches. She is rejected, treated like a nuisance by her matches and over time her omega becomes severely depressed. It is heartbreaking reading what Freya goes through by the people that watch over the omegas.

But a new professor shows up and things seem to brighten for Freya some. Also, there's some groveling being done by her matches. Will they realize Freya is more than the frail Omega? Will the professor help and notice what is going on? You need to read this to find out.

That cliffhanger has me hanging on by a thread waiting to find out ehat happens next. Excellent book. Thank you Y.V. Larson for writing it.

Apart from the initial opening chapters, the bullying was done in the past and the issues aren't the guys themselves but the environment they're in. I had second thoughts on this one just reading the omega rules. All BS, and the way no one picked up on any of it was awful. This was not quite a rage read but a disgust read. The bad outweighed the good and the place needs to be burnt to the ground. Just a little more and they all would've reached graduation. Instead it looks like trouble. Cliffhanger ending and all pack characters powerless.

I give this story a 4.25/5 and here's why:

The good:
- Plot was interesting. The plot starts in a sketchy school teaching alphas and betas a curriculum and turning them into chauvinistic jerks. The omegas are oppressed and taught to submit to those above them. The omegas are very poorly treated, with beatings, suppressed painful heat, and a number of other rules to detach their wolves from their humans. The alphas and betas don't know how poorly the omegas are treated and think nothing of it.
- There was MM interaction One of the betas and alphas are in a relationship. Since the alphas and betas don't have to suppress their scent, they know they aren't "mates," but in a sense, they have chosen each other as such. The interactions between these two were the only spice that occurred in the story. Since it's a slow burn, and given the state of the omega, I didn't expect to have a lot of spice. But the scenes between the two were hot. (the only thing is, at times, these spicy scenes were kinda out of place.) But the two were always thinking about the scared and soft-spoken omega, so it didn't feel like betrayal toward her but an inclusion.
- Some sort of Groveling There's one alpha in particular that bullies the fmc omega. He says mean things and learns how badly he's messed up. All the guys grovel a bit when they open their eyes one day and see that things aren't right around the school... Things aren't making sense or adding up.
-Character Development for the Omega We see how weak the omega is initially. She is just existing and not living. She's fragile and deteriorating quickly. Towards the end of the book, she finds strength for herself and not just for her mates.

There's one last of the FMC's mates, the older brother of the guy who bullies the Omega. He is her beacon of hope since the other three guys have ignored, bullied, or been indifferent towards her. The professor openly shows interest, concern, and respect for her. She holds on to what she can before she is broken.

What Could Improve:
- Some of the Timing As I mentioned, some of the spicy scenes were random or didn't improve the plot.
-It felt repetitive with the fmc stating she can't let them know their mates, but then we find out why she feels so strong about it and it then makes sense.
-Some of the writing could improve

Overall, I felt Y.V. Larson wrote an interesting story. I am someone who loves omegaverse, hurt/comfort, mm/why choose interactions and groveling. It ticked off the boxes I look for when enjoying a book. As a newer author, I think she did a great job and has much opportunity and room to build a great series. If she included more of the omegas in there with the fmc, I could see this heading toward an interconnected story with other characters. I really liked the sketchy school, testing on omegas plot. I can't wait to find out what's next.

There is so much abuse and neglect that’s is off putting. I understand world building and I expected the men to get a clue and actually be BA and figure things out but instead they are complacent. MFC is more impressive than they are. She goes through physical and mental torment to protect them for 3 years and they can’t even manage to covertly give her a snack? 🙄 legit some of the most incompetent Alphas I’ve ever read about.

Semi spoiler below

I understand that the academy is teaching things that go against society norms. But these Alphas should know better! I would understand more if they had been sent to boarding school as children and indoctrinated into this mindset their entire adolescent lives. However, that’s not the case. That means they were out living in the world and would have seen how Alphas interact with Omegas. How Betas are treated and treat Omegas. That’s what makes no sense. They are at this school for a few years and poof they 100% have no idea there is something wrong?! I thought there would be some explanation that they were being drugged in the food and that would explain why they are all idiots. But, no.

Wanted to love it, liked the idea and a distant take on an Omegaverse but wow, this just didn’t come together. And yes, I stuck it out and read the sequel. And that book gets even more disappointing. Sigh.

wildly disappointed

I was sooooo excited for this one. The plot sounded great and the characters sounded great. But holy moly it was not for me. First I hate that all omegas are treated the same. It lessens the trauma in some ways lol. I also think the blurb makes it seem like she’s living with them and then getting bullied within. That’s not the case. It was very annoying and very cheesy

MMFMM, slow burn, abused suffering misunderstood FMC, bully then grovel, protective MMCs.

Hmmmmm… It felt like I’ve read this story before bc it has similarities to others in the omega verse. I’m feeling done with the overly victimized fmc omega at this point so i think it was well done and I wasn’t in the right frame to best appreciate this story at this time.

Woah!

This book is powerful! I legit could not put my kindle down until I finished it.Freya is our omega FMC and I admire the hell out of her. She has enough grit, even when she wished she didn’t, to protect herself from the absolute travesty of her treatment while in this vaunted academy.

Her mates on the other hand… are questionable. Well, two are and two aren’t. I’ll leave that for you to discover though. Suffice to say that I was not best pleased with them at the beginning of the book. Even the best of them was only the bare minimum of decent. Freya’s goes through some nasty things throughout this part of the story.

While the general world outside of this academy seems to be more about equality amongst the designations, the school is mostly assuredly not. I will say that once her fourth mate makes his appearance, I enjoyed the growth of all the characters as a whole and individually.

Be mindful of the cliff at the end. While not the worst I have encountered, I’m thankful that the second part is already available. Well worth the read. As for the triggers? Take note of them and take care of yourself. No story will ever be worth your mental health.

Compelling characters that were well written and a storyline that draws you in and will keep you up all night reading as you can't stop turning pages to see what happens next. This is not your typical shifter romance as it isn't all instalove and spice. This is about them growing as people within their individual designations and finding themselves inexplicably drawn to each other. She knows what they don't, but I can't tell you why as that will give away too much of the story. You really want to read this one. I would almost put it more in the category of psychological thriller rather than romance with the odd occurrences at this so-called college. I can't wait to dive into the second book of the duet as I was left on a cliff waiting to see which way they all fall!

in theory I really wanted to live this book

Freya is an omega at university but this university is different. The Omegas are heavily controlled. They are barely fed, disciplined if they don’t fall in line and are on heavy suppressants. Freya has kept a secret from everyone. She knows who her mates are and she is keeping that secret close to her heart. One is indifferent towards her, one is a bully and the last one has only shown her pity. Until her fourth mate shows up and everything starts to change.

I liked the book but I wish there was more. Why does the university treat their Omegas like that, why are the enforcers needed? What is the agenda? It was hinted but nothing was solidified.

Freya’s mates were drawn to her and I hate that they took so long. I wanted it to be more than subtle. I need them to really step it up with the next book comes out.

Edit to update: removed down to 1 star. 1 for the general story, because I did like it. But this author needs sensitivity readers if she plans to use different races for characters. The black mate, Elliot, was called out for skin color more than the others and I was extremely shocked at what was written with him being able to sneak around in the dark... 😳

Edge of my seat the whole time. It actually caused me a lot of anxiety. I loved the take on this and how it gave me hunger games (peacekeepers=enforcers), The Giver (people don't know except for one person but then things get exposed little by little), some sort of experimentation trope...I mean, it was really different.
The writing wasn't bad either, and everything made sense.
A few things I wish were different, more time spent understanding the complete disconnect through her years of being there. It constant states how she is trying to do something but I don't think I understood what.
The chemicals she has to use, her skin is very irritated by using them, I know it's weird to wonder, but she's exposing her genitals to them and it made me wonder why that's not really talked about. I can't imagine the chemicals are good when she's bathing in chemicals twice daily.
It's things like that, that felt left out and underexplained. The time jumps were a bit frustrating and I was super confused over the school schedule. There's fall quarter which is when you start, winter break and winter quarter after, then sping break which then goes into sping quarter. I may need to go back and read if it's based on semesters but I don't think it was. But winter quarter was completely skipped over or the author got confused with them. So I thought we were in like January era but it said sping so April? I was really confused.
Also, I didn't understand how the enforcers didn't enforce more when clearly the rules were so important at the beginning of the book. Almost like they weren't allowed to even fraternize with any other designation.

Idk, the more I think about it, the more I'm unsure in my 4 stars.

**Review Shared for Duet**

Plot - The plot was good and was a unique idea when it came to the omegaverse. It was a nice change of pace since omegaverse books can get pretty repetitive. That being said - the pace of it kind of ruined parts of it. Most of book two has the main characters being tortured and in captivity. I just feel like there wasn't enough valuable time between the fmc and mmcs... They seemed to barely know each other at the end of book two. It left me wanting more.

Mmc's - Unfortunately the plot didn't allow for there to be nearly enough groveling. There wasn't time or opportunity between all their enemies hurting them.. Which is too bad because honestly Lucas was pretty horrible. I guess the groveling was when he did the bare minimum and actually started treating her like a person? Ronan was a nice change of pace. Elliot wasn't as bad as I was expecting when I read this was a bully romance - he was more indifferent to her than anything. But we didn't really see much of that. Casey was enjoyable to an extent. But honestly all the guys that had spent the last three years at the school kind of sucked. Them not noticing anything wrong with how omegas were treated was kind of unbelievable. I mean... they only spent the last three years there. Before that they were in the real world? So... what?

Fmc - A traumatized and brainwashed omega that found strength from all the things she had been through. Despite everything she was determined to protect her mates, even when they treated her like trash. I actually enjoyed seeing her growth and determination throughout the story. But I do wish the men had been more deserving of her. All that being said - I do wish we had the opportunity to see her heal more from everything she went through. She was still having inner thoughts of her brainwashing at the end of book two - those are the types of things that seeing the mmc's help her heal from would have left the books more satisfying.

Smut - More mm than anything - but considering the story it made sense and honestly I preferred it that way. Reading about forced sex even if it's between two partners would not be enjoyable so I am glad we skipped most of it.

Side note: The Beckett storyline seemed so out of left field.. and didn't really add much to this book in my opinion. Also how come he didn't react to Freya's scent on the males? It wasn't until their eyes met that they recognized each other but when it comes to omegaverse it's usually all about scents.

New series!

Y.V. Larson’s new release Met Your Match, is here and it is her first omega verse.

The FMC Freya is in Omega in a college which does not treat Omegas very well. They completely keep them separate from Alphas and Betas. Make them feel like they are worthless.

I don’t have very much experience with this genre. I have read some but not a whole lot. It’s not my go to. But this storyline sounded intriguing. And I have loved all of this authors other works.

Overall this book was good, there were just a few things that didn’t make sense. Below are my thoughts

The pros:
The strength that Freya has throughout this book is awe aspiring. The stuff she goes through is tough to read through. But she comes out on top most the time.
The concept of this unique storyline was interesting to learn about.
I love the slow burn! It goes with the storyline perfectly. I love how this author doesn’t rush it, makes the relationship more real!

The cons:
How come the Alphas and Betas think everything is all right at this school? They have only been at the college for 3 years. They have to know it’s not normal how the omegas are acting, from experience in the outside world before coming to the school. Right!? This would have made more sense to me if they had been in there longer than the 3 years, like if they had grown up in this school.
How are they having these feelings and this pull for Freya just now, when they have been around her all the years they have been at the college?!
There were some time jumps that made me a bit confused between chapters. I would have liked it to of flown better. What happened in that time we missed?

Overall the book wasn’t bad, this author has an amazing way with her storytelling. I just really don’t think that Omega verse is for me. I will definitely keep reading all her other work.

All MM

While this book features a female and multiple males, all intimate encounters are only MM. There is zero F with any combo of M.

The world set up is strange, the isolation that these “college students” are put into is extremely strange. No one seems to remember how the ABO dynamics worked before school. Being as the majority of students entered college at 18 and were educated about ABO in high school… it seems strange that no one objects to all the changes. Also quite strange as a lot of these students came from packs or had an omega parent. Also, what school has zero tech and allows zero contact with the outside world? Red flags anyone? Are all the colleges like this? Did older siblings who attended different colleges have the same restrictions?

Also found it strange that here the omega is being starved and tortured and the guys are all like, well… there’s nothing we can do. The two guys who are together are more into each other to the point where they are off having sex instead of helping to end the torture. Oh just wait a few more months… Like it’s no big deal to expect her to endure more. I especially feel that if it was one of the males in the MM situation they would have set the world on fire to rescue him. Even the other two guys not in the MM relationship. For her? Eh. Lukewarm outrage and zero action.

I need more groveling form this book

I couldn’t stand 3 out of 4 guys in harem. I need more form guys especially when it came to asking for forgiveness form the FMC. Also the guy I barely like n I mean barely didn’t do much when it came to stopping the mistreatment for FMC. I get it’s part of plot but come your an alpha. I need more alpha then passenger. Other then that story was interesting and FMC was alright. She fit the story and she was strong in her on way. I’m starting book 2 just to see where the story goes and see if the guys change.

💭 My initial thoughts
Speechless is that a good enough way to describe how I feel right now. I'm so dam invested in the life of these 5 right now. Did I stay up into the night reading it. You bet. I never expected any thing less from Larson and oh boy the spice was hot 🔥 the plot tho, the characters, they have my whole heart right now 🥰

💭 Plot
The Plot for the book is just everything you would want and expect just from the trigger warnings 😉 The way everything is written, the descriptions, the spice. *Chef kiss* 💋

💭 Characters
The Main characters are everything! EVERYTHING! Freya reminds me of myself in the way she needs to fight for herself and her omega in the backwards academy. She's so shy and fragile and I just wanna make it all better for her. Casey is just a cutie of a beta who's calming presents is needed for them all. Elliot is the quiet alpha until he comes into himself. Lucas is the bully and we all know how bully Romances end. Ronan is the sensible, older, had me drooling at my imagination one 😋

💭 Book Information
This is the first in a duet.
Cliffhanger ending
Fated/Bound Mates
Alphas, Betas and Omegas.
Its from Freyas, Caseys, Elliott, Lucas and Ronan POV.. Which just adds to how amazing it is, especially the way the chapters roll.
MMFMM/ABOAA Romance

Check Twigger Warning before reading.

💭 Overall wrap up.
Y.V Larson is one of my favourite authors and she does not disappoint with this new duet 👏🏻 I actually stayed up to finish the book and normally I'm a anything after 9pm is late girly 😴. But I just couldn't put it down, the whole book is amazing but the last 50% thats the part that hooked me until the very end. I love all the characters so much. Wonderful First Omegaverse 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

This book is quite the emotional roller coaster, but if you’ve read any of Y.V.’s books, then that won’t be a surprise. If you love Omegaverse stories with a darker vibe & content, then this is a duet you’re gonna want to grab onto! My heart almost couldn’t take all the pain that Freya had to withstand, but I know that’s going to make her HEA in book 2 that much sweeter. The whole storyline & ideas that were entertained in this story gave me a fresh perspective on the Omegaverse genre, and after reading so many Omegaverse stories, that was more than appreciated. There may not be as much spice as some of us are used to with a lot of the Omegaverse books out there, but there is enough in this to compliment the storyline, as well as it giving a good tease of some of what we can look forward to in the 2nd book. This is definitely a true slow burn, but it perfectly enhances the authenticity of Freya’s struggles IMO. I can’t wait to see how things progress for Freya in the 2nd book. You’ll devour this story if you enjoy Omegaverse, whychoose with MM interaction, academy setting, rejected mates, scent matches, bullying with lots of groveling to look forward to, but more so because it’s all about the amazing inner strength shown by the FMC who is being hurt & is physically weak because of how Omega’s are mistreated at the academy they attend, as well as the rejection by her own mates 🤬 Experiencing Freya’s journey will keep you on edge with your emotions, but you’ll have to wait until book 2 to see where that journey takes her 😉❤️ Hopefully we’ll see LOTSSSSS OF GROVELING, as well as some well deserved justice against a certain institution of “learning” 😈🔥

Completely Flabbergasted!

You won’t see this story line coming! Started the book and was intrigued by the ov bully aspect. I haven’t seen much of that… packs not wanting an omega sure, omegas not wanting a pack, definitely. But omegas being forced to deny their inmate omega instincts are unheard of!! Freyas story is a bit confusing, luckily her Expedia’s the university are outlined rather quickly and can I tell you that school is a mess!! The understanding is that all designations are equal in society. But this one twisted school is forming, brainwashing their students to hold omegas down beneath them by their necks. It’s despicable, disgusting, and terrifying! The alpha and beta counterparts don’t really realize that’s what’s happening. They just think they are getting an elite education and the omegas are stuck up or super timid. Not the case, the omegas are treated as less than third class citizens. And how is this made possible you ask? Every student is forced to give up all ties to the outside world while at the school. No computers, internet, entertainment, trips, cell phones… now my question is, well one of them. Why haven’t any of the parents of the omegas come to check in on them? Why hasn’t any of the alpha or beta parents questioned the ridiculous denial of contact with even family members? And why are t the students even a little bit unnerved? It’s all being blown out of the water by Ronan’s who comes in as a teacher to spend the last year with his brother Luke, the bully jerk face… and he’s more than a bit concerned about the cult like influence and curriculum. I’m excited to find out what happens in the next book. If you live OV you gotta read this one!! It will keep you on your toes!! Happy Reading Friends!

This is a good rejected mate Omegaverse book and I’m looking forward to the next installment.

It’s set in a private college that teaches a twisted philosophy about society, and that abuses Omegas. The main issue I have throughout this book is that I’m not quite convinced this set up makes sense.

We know the academy targets vulnerable Omegas. So that part works. But how are betas and alphas falling for it? We’re talking full grown adults who have been raised in a normal environment. They don’t wonder about the lessons they’re getting? Their own families aren’t like this, so why would they just accept it?

Speaking of their families… who lets their kids go to a low-tech private school that doesn’t let anyone have outside contact for 4 years. How did Ronan even get a job here without some kind of screening? Shouldn’t this place be leaking information like a sieve every time a class graduates or a teacher gets fired?

I also think that Freya is a bit too concerned about her mates only liking her because of her scent, when it’s literally the only reason she’s interested in them. I mean… Lucas was her bully for years and she’s all in on him because she knows they’re scent matches.

Anyway, I’ll still read the next book, but the academy’s set up is a little hard on my suspension of disbelief.

Ronan: former football star and new teacher. Older brother of Lucas.

Lucas: former bully and football quarterback. Not as good as his brother. Kind of dumb.

Elliot: big alpha, kind of sweet, boyfriend of Casey. Pretty dominant.

Casey: friendly beta.
