The first time I laid eyes on him, I knew what the tangle of emotions meant. He was the one. And I wasn’t sure how long I could resist the temptation to be his.

Wild and reckless, Kelsey Summers had her entire life laid out for her from the day she was born. Her parents are the Hot Springs pack Sentinels, and they arranged her betrothal to Liam Castle, a promise of continued peace between packs. Her eighteenth birthday hastily approaches, so she must say goodbye to her old life and hello to her future in Riverbridge, Wyoming.

Liam Castle is brooding, intense, and gorgeous—all things Kelsey hoped he wouldn’t be. Her intent is to make the model-worthy wolf shifter’s life a living hell, but she finds it extremely hard when he stares at her with those breathtaking aqua eyes.

Soon Kelsey realizes her arrival brought a great danger lurking in the woods of Riverbridge. Hunters. And their mark isn’t any wolf. It’s the one with extraordinary abilities. Just Kelsey’s luck that she’s the shifter with the colossal target on her back. At this rate, she might never make it to her eighteenth birthday, let alone to her mating ceremony.

*If you like paranormal romances, with fated lovers, steam, action, a sassy heroine, and an alpha hero, this is for you. Kelsey is book one of a full-length (90k+) duology and ends on a cliffhanger. It's recommended for 18+ due to language and sexual situations.

This book started off with the female mc immediately ripping into how other girls were dressed. Set the entire book off to a bed start. Her entire personality screaming “help I’m a pick me supreme” from page one. It’s 2024, we don’t degrade other women for how they choose to dress.

Then the rest of the book was mostly just silly. I predicted who the hunter was and who hired him far before the end of the book, it was entirely predictable.

The worst part though was the nicknames. He called her “pup” and she called him “princeling” 😑 nobody wants the weird ass nicknames in books. Authors need to stop doing this, it’s not cute it’s cringe.

Lobos-mates
'Lo había rechazado. Él me había rechazado.

This was... odd. Arranged marriage at 6 yo and now they're almost 18 and FMC has to move to MMC high school for senior year so they can get to know each other before they mate (?)

Just a couple of straight up issues:
1) FMC is constantly threatening physical harm and pretending she has a spine. Spoiler: she doesn't. She just shit talks constantly like a yippy chihuahua.

2) MMC calls her pup. All. The. Time. It's icky. I think they're the same age so why the fuck would you have the MMC call his 17 year old fiance "pup" is beyond me. Kept making me feel like he was 10 years older than her and infatising her.

3) MMC is constantly ordering her around. She mouths off like she's a badass but the ick is already there. Telling her to stay? Like a fucking dog??? That's not the cute snark this author thinks it is.

4) the eyes... fml... so every time they make eye contact, they basically mutually hypnotize each other. I know I'm not explaining it well but that's because IT MAKES NO SENSE! These apex predators with human intellect and yet they get lost in each other's eyes on a pathological level EVERY SINGLE TIME?? What's the plan here? Are they eventually going to get over that? Because it would be a real buzz killer if they're running for their lives from a hunter and accidentally make eye contact... ☠️

I actually had a good time reading this book. A nice way to ease back into reading after a couple of weeks. However, there were a couple grammatical errors and typos but not so much that ruins the experience. It just takes you out of the story at times.
I did like the hierarchy in this world. A bit different.
Well, talk about an abrupt ending. That didn’t feel like an ending but more of just not adding the rest of the story.
I definitely enjoyed the beginning more than the end. It was so predictable. It was so obvious it was Gunnar. And making Rowan the head of everything makes sense for shock factor.
Near the end I feel like there started being situations in the sense of loop holes. Some things that happened throughout the book so far didn’t match up to what was randomly said near the end. For instance, never once was it explained in the beginning that Kelsey’s mom isn’t a good mom. There was literally no indication of that. Then near the end Kelsey says how lucky Liam is to have a mother like his and not hers. It’s just not consistent.
Besides all of these things, all in all I enjoyed my time reading and I was very intrigued by the plot. The last third of the book just started falling flat for me.
Liam and Kelsey are enjoyable characters and not boring.
But definitely an intriguing and enjoyable read!

I was really interested to see how this would go especially with all of the great tags to what this book would have and I was happily surprised.
Kelsey is a great main character, I loved her random ramblings in her head and laughed at quite a few moments.

I liked some of the side characters in particular Liam's brother as they were definately one of my favourites, I do wish we got more of the cousin and maybe more of her friends from home but I think that might come up more in the next one.

Liam has that love to hate at the beginning but they do grow on you a little by the end and he has great chemistry with Kelsey.

I like the start to the world and this take on Wolf shifters, this has definately pulled me in and I can not wait to see what happens next!

2.5-3 stars.
I got really tired of the redundancy. They hate eachother, they want eachother rinse and repeat. Throw in that she is also wanted because of her powers and that’s basically the whole book.

What I don’t understand… she has the same powers as her grandmother. But she doesn’t know what powers she has? And how does she not even question her very vivid dreams that she has every single night as possibly being her seeing the future? Especially knowing her grandmother can see the future with the powers THEY SHARE…. I’d probably ask my grandmother about the powers and also get advice on these dreams. You don’t even have to go into specifics! She’s supposedly super smart, but apparently not smart enough to add 2+2. lol

Giving up at 81%.

The first book in this duet is from the MFCs pov Kelsey. The 2nd is from Liam’s the MMCs.

Which is a different spin on dual pov and kind of fun. In this book one Kelsey has just moved to Liam’s pack, and is ready to sabotage there arranged marriage/mate.

The story is strong Kelsey has some secrets will bring dang around every corner. The two MMCs are polar opposites it’s fun to watch them unravel! The tension between them is extremely explosive!

The side characters are great! They bring some of the best entertainment.

So if you are looking for an OTT possessive/ protective alpha male, a female that seriously takes no crap and fights for herself. She’s also strong and powerful! Found family, twists and turns, secrets and lies! A book that never slows down! This duet is for you!

Okay

The book got better toward the end. I was bored with the hot and cold temperature between the 2 main characters. The book really didnt have much of a storyline and there was little action. Kelsey the main female character would have been better if she hadnt fixated on Liam all the way through the book as this was the only thing she thought about, hence the reason no storyline. Kelsey had magic in her veins but didnt really use it until the end. She was always being rescued like a damsel. Not my thing really but will read the 2nd book to see where it goes. I guessed who the hunter/traitor where when the character was introduced into the storyline.

The story in this book is good. However it is obvious this is a small author with less resources for editing. There are some grammatical errors throughout the book, things get repeated, some things even contradict something that was just said a few pages ago. The fmc and mmc have this battle of accepting each other but it feels unnatural. I’m reading emotions but I don’t feel them. And throughout the book things feel over described or random. Comments and thoughts that are completely out of place for what is happening. I do believe with a good true edit this book could be great. But it’s not quite there yet.

This book was a fun read. If you're a fan of Wolf Shifters and romance, you're in for a treat.

The main character, Kelsey, is interesting, and her thoughts add some funny moments to the story. Liam brings a touch of the classic love-to-hate dynamic, but as the plot unfolds, so does the chemistry between him and Kelsey. By the end of the book, their relationship has developed a bit more.

J.L Weill always has a fun way of writing her stories and characters, and this one is no different. I recommend reading it.

What a wasted time spent..

For some reason, reading the books by this author is a hit or miss. Maybe the writing style or the storyline. This one was a miss. Don't care for the characters and the OW being the side plot. The h was flaunting and kissing the girlfriend not girlfriend in front of the weak FMC. Don't care for how the FMC was always being a attack by the super powerful hunter human but not human. The h was hot n cold was unlikable in my opinio. Wasted time spent on this book. Don't care to read the next book.

Absolutely fantastic!!! Just the right amount of enemies to lovers with a tension so thick you find yourself begging for the moment they give in to their true feelings. Suspense and mystery so well woven that even when you are pretty sure you know the answer, you are taken by surprise. And a cliffhanger that is merciful and not brutal. I absolutely can't wait to read the next book in the duet when it comes out, "Liam". And for fans of JL Weil, this book has total Divisa vibes!

So much potential.. The base storyline is nice but is not developed enough. The only context is given in the first 2 pages and then is 98% of the book just on sexual tension, and the writing even here could be better is a bit abrupt and doesn't have the best timing on the events. The characters could have been developed much more, and there are even typos.
Overall I felt really like an horny teenager reading this, because the story wasn't really there.
Almost forgot, sooo predictable

✨Moonstruck Mates : Kelsey✨

I liked this book! The story was well thought out and unique in a genre that has a lot of content. I enjoyed this first book and have already loaded the second book on my kindle.

This might not be everyone’s theme of choice with wolf shifters, but it has a twilight-esq feel. I enjoyed this a lot! The writing is good and the added element of suspense is a nice addition to the story.

I was hooked from page one. Everything about Paige and Liam’s story is a masterpiece. Written with a depth and dimension of detail and character strength that keeps you completely enthralled. Bits of mystery, cleverness and bond that is destined but unwanted. With a wow cliffhanger and questions looming, I definitely can’t wait for book2.

I loved this one, so much passion and action! But it is very predictable, but that didn’t bother me too much! But I did struggle with Leith at times, the way he was written got super annoying at times. Like it took away from the intensity of the situation, because he acted so childish where it didn’t make sense.. But loved everything else ❤️

I enjoyed this and would have rated it higher but the TYPOS!! They drove me nuts and it takes me out of the story. I seriously don’t understand how they get missed. At the end it says Liam twirled a dagger but it was Gunnar. Just one of many. I will read the next because I liked the characters and I’m hopeful it will get more into her magic.

Great story

The story was great. There were some grammatical errors but I was able to determine what was meant to be said. There were double words occasionally and it was a little annoying. I hope the next one is a little better grammatically speaking. I am excited to read the next book so I know how the story goes.

This is the first book in the brand-new Moonstruck Mates series and is about Kelsey Summers and Liam Castle. Kelsey was promised to Liam before she was born. Both Kelsey and Liam are fighting this but can they can fight it for long. I was hooked from the start and cannot wait for book two.

This is the first book in a duology. I loved it! Kelsey and Liam's chemistry is through the roof. I loved how for once, it's the girl who is trying to reject but the guy just won't accept it for reasons I won't spoil. I loved every second and I can't wait to read the second part.

I will never not read a JL Weil book. She has the amazing ability to created characters and worlds that draw you in and keep you wanting more. This is no exception. I love shifter romances and this is one that I will definitely read again.
